I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review. No other consideration was offered, expected or received.

This is a great looking and fun collection of sweets. I'm going to really enjoy making these. :) Easy, too - most of the recipes use cake mixes, etc. The author used specific instructions - with pictures - on how to make the things in this book, which makes it easier for newer cooks. I think the stuff in this book would also be fun to do with teenagers or even some younger (depending on how much experience they've had in the kitchen and how much attention span they have).

ARC generously provided via Netgalley by publisher for an honest review.

Beautiful pictures and great ideas. Cannot wait to try some of these things. Some items do look to be a bit time consuming but would be fun for special occasions, especially if you enjoy baking and decorating. Looking forward to trying some of these items out with my family.

5 ★★★★★ Amazingly Illustrated, Step-by-Step Cookbook/Idea Book to make Colorful, Delicious Mini Works of Art for Special Occasions, Gifts and Holidays!

I Loved this book! This is something I want in Hardcover and for my Cookbook library.

This is a gorgeously laid-out, beautifully illustrated and photographed step by step how to Cook Book to create simply amazing baked goods and Treats. This is an Amazing How-To Baking Cookbook to create Colorful, Artistic Cakes and Dessert Treats that are almost too pretty to eat! You can use these for Special Occasions, Gifts, and To Sell in a fancy bakery! It breaks down the steps to make these works of art into small stages to make things seem much, much easier than they look!

There are so many ideas to spur one's creativity. The Cookbook Starts out with Tools and Conversion Tables and then goes on to 40 Amazing Desserts (with variations) so it feels like there are many more Step by Step Recipes and How To's beyond 40.

Personally I think these are a bit too amazing to be just for kids, the designs are mini works of art! Not all of these require baking, and some are simpler and easier than others.

Easy to make ones would be: Frosty Frozen Cakesicles and Stuffed Strawberries. I think the prettiest ones are the Edible Flower Popsicles. Those are too pretty to eat, they look like decor! There are great instructions for smoothing fondant over cakes, and decorating cakes~ techniques which can be used for Wedding Cakes, not to mention many unique and New (to me) decorating ideas that can be used for Wedding Cakes.

Many thanks for the opportunity to read and review this amazing ARC!

This is book is incredible! There are so many great things to say about it:

Creations- This book features 40 creations. It’s a really great, wide assortment of creations. It ranges from Cakes and Cupcakes to Cookies to Cake and Pie Cups to Frozen Cakesicles and Ice Cream Cakes to Truffles to Pastrys to Jello to Fruit and so much more. The variety is absolutely awesome!

Recipes & Instructions- I thought with such creative recipes that they would be pretty complicated and have many ingredients. I have found the recipes to be pretty easy to make and for the most part there aren’t too many ingredients. I loved the easy-to-follow, step-by-step, numbered instructions. There’s even several helpful pictures with most of the recipes, that shows you pictures of the creations being made along the way.

Pictures- The pictures are absolutely beautiful and there are a ton. The pictures make your mouth drool just looking at them.

Design- I think the layout and design of this book is fantastic. It’s just an overall great looking book, right down to the font. It has a fun look to it that makes the kids want to jump right in and help.

I can see many uses and occasions for these creations that can be made all throughout the year. I would highly recommend this book. I’m sure it won’t disappoint.

I received this book from Netgalley in return for an unbiased review.

I absolutely fell in love with this book, it represents everything that I love about a cookbook! Ok, let me be honest, I am a terrible cook, but I love to bake. Baking various confections is probably the only thing I enjoy when it comes to fiddling around in the kitchen. This doesn't mean that I do not loves reading cookbooks, especially when they are so wonderfully presented.

When I look at a cookbook I want to see beautiful photos clearly laying out what the recipe calls for and what the finished product is supposed to look like. I want to see clear instructions. I want to see yummy and unique foods. This book has it all.

I was especially fond of the conversion table at the beginning, the decorating tips, and of course all the delicious foods. I look forward to getting the ingredients to try these recipes.

Are you the king or queen of box mix baking? Then you will adore this book! It is filled with some beautiful and clever ideas for making cookies, cakes and other beautiful treats. The recipes are easy to follow, and the pages are full of rich color photos for examples. There are a few token recipes for those who prefer baking from scratch - The molten caramel cake (using store-bought caramels, though) look lovely, as do the edible flowery.

For those of us who prefer to bake from scratch, this book is good for getting ideas from for a beautiful presentation of your desserts; just use your own basic cookie or cake recipes instead of the commercial boxed mixes. I say this also to the lovers of real food - use the ideas as a guide or for inspiration - just bake with a recipe that you know has wholesome ingredients instead of box mixes made with semi-pronounceable chemicals and weird ingredients.

I received a copy of this to peruse through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for review.

When I saw it, I though “I want it!” Everyone knows that I have a sweet tooth, so I enjoy reading everything related with sweets, cakes and cupcakes, but when I saw that this one also includes gorgeous confections, I fell in love with it.

I love it! I loved the structure of the book, so funny, so colorful and so well described. It’s really complete, the recipes and the steps are clear and easy to follow and the recipes are really creative.

I loved that the book contains a lot of colorful photographs of the final results and almost every step, and, why not, I also love that at the same time, it contains some tips (maybe I would like to read more tips).

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review:

This cookbook is full of great ideas and fun recipes. The directions are clear and concise with pictures throughout. I love to bake, but I am not familiar with a lot of bakers techniques. This book also touches on some of those techniques such as making and rolling fondant to making decorative chocolate curls. I will be buying this book for friends and family since we all love to bake and make fun treats for parties. Wonderful book!

My 13 year old daughter and I tried a few of the recipes in Custom Confections and we found the recipes or instructions, if you will, to be simple to translate. Our favorites were of course the Stuffed Strawberries. The Checkerboard Cake was a treat we made as a welcome home for my husband after a business trip and the Royally Iced Cookies is on our to-do list. The pictures are beautiful and festive. The recipes are easy to follow and very approachable.

I received an ebook proof of this title through NetGalley!

Thank you very much!

Lovely pictures make you hungry to try out the recipes. Whilst everything looks professional and elaborate, the instructions are dead easy to follow, making this a good book for tweens (and grown ups) who fancy trying baking and decorating.

I really can't wait to try the recipes. Whilst you aren't given alternatives for hard to find (outside of US/UK) ingredients, there is a wonderful imperial-metric chart and pictures of all the tools, so you know exactly what's needed at all times.

Warning, do NOT open this book if you are hungry. I mean it, you'll be starving by the time you're 10 pages in. Each and every one of these recipes looks amazing and as you read, you realize isn't difficult. Some are time consuming, but seriously, I want to try almost everything in this book. It's a rare advance galley I put on my to-buy list, but this one is firmly cemented there. Huge thank you to the publisher for advance access to an electronic galley.

I won this in a random drawing from SLJ Teen (and I've also purchased a copy for my library). While I haven't read it cover-to-cover or used any of the recipes yet, I am rating the presentation. The photographs are wonderful and the recipes look fun and exciting - a great cookbook for teens & tweens and for birthday parties. The hedgehog cake and edible flower lollipops look amazing, and of course I love the tiered book cake.

I really love this book. It is beautifully done and the recipe ideas are perfect for parties or other celebrations where one is pressed for time and money. Very colorful illustrations and clear directions. The simplicity of the recipes and the clarity of the instructions for the recipes was quite useful. I will use some of these ideas and recipes when I begin baking again! Thank you Ms. Besel!

I checked this book out from the children's section at our local library. This book didn't even seem like it WAS a child's baking book. Not to mention that I really wanted to find a baking book with a lot a recipes from scratch and this book didn't meet my expectations, it had a lot of recipes with cake mixes and my family and I can't eat the stuff that they put in cake mixes. It seems more like an adult book to me, because these recipes don't seem easy for a child.

I can not wait to try some of these things, especially all the things on sticks. The illustrations are great, but since it says it contains thing to do with kids, I wish there were more step by step illustrations rather than just words.
