Polish writer and publicist, and a prominent figure of the Polish theatre in the post-WWII period; wrote novels and dramas. His most known work, drama "Niemcy" (Germans) was written in 1949. Left-wing activist before WWII, he spend the war in the German POW camps. In the years 1945-1948 he was a Deputy Minister of Culture and Art. Leon Kruczkowski has also held positions of the Deputy to Polish Parliament (1946 - 1956) and was member of the Polish Council of State.
