Stumbling upon a burning car and rescuing an injured woman wasn’t on bodyguard Caleb Miller’s vacation itinerary—nor were the gunmen who open fire on them. But Olivia Delaney has no memory of who she is or how she got there, only that she is under threat. Vowing to protect the woman in danger, Caleb and his K-9 go on the run with Olivia. As they work to stay a step ahead of her pursuers, they must untangle her past together…before her family’s deadly schemes bury them both.

This is a Romantic Suspense. I read this book by listening to the audiobook for this book, and I really enjoyed it. It had some weird really short pauses (...I am not sure if it was just my phone, but I listened to several others and it has never happened before or it could be just the ARC copy). I enjoyed getting to know the characters in this book. The story had me pulled into it for the beginning, and I loved all the suspense and action. I did not want to put this book down. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
Exposing Lethal Secrets delivers the breathless, edge-of-your-seat intensity I love in romantic suspense, while grounding every scene in quiet, determined faith. The characters felt real enough to keep me rooted through every twist, their choices showing an unflinching dependence on God even when answers stayed out of reach.
I loved how vivid the setting felt, danger always close, reminding me that real safety is something we entrust to God. I couldn’t stop listening—it pulled me in completely, and I didn’t want to leave these characters behind.
Teri Schnaubelt’s narration added so much depth, capturing the urgency of every moment without losing the humanity of the characters. She kept the tension sharp while giving me space to really sit with each scene and feel it all.
Faith holds this whole journey together in a way that feels honest and needed. It doesn’t ignore fear or act like the choices are easy; it keeps guiding me toward surrender, trust, and a love that stays steady even when everything else falls apart.
This story left me thinking about how God’s love finds us in confusion and danger, offering steady guidance and hearing the prayers of a heart fully His. Highly recommended for anyone wanting Christian faith content woven into pulse-pounding suspense.
I received a digital audiobook ARC from the publisher via NetGalley. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the great writing, engaging narration, and the story’s wonderful content, ensuring transparency and reliability.
Olivia Delaney came to California following her father’s death and stayed, taking an entry-level position in the family business, now being run by her half-brother. She soon noticed some irregularities and worked to find the proof. She intended to turn her evidence over to the authorities, but before she could, she was involved in a terrible accident and lost her memory.
Caleb Miller and his K-9, Ranger, were on vacation in the California desert after working on a harrowing case for Jameson Investigations, when he noticed “a plume of smoke… intruding on the wispy clouds dotting the cerulean sky”. Following the smoke, he finds a car on fire and an injured woman. He does call his boss for help, but before it arrives, two gunmen find them and open fire.
This sets off a chase across the country as Caleb tries to keep them alive, as Olivia tries to remember what got her into this mess in the first place.
Ms. Alexander’s characters literally hit the ground running, and they take us with them on a wild journey at high speed. From the desert of California to the swamps of Florida, this story is full of action and suspense.
It took Olivia a little time to trust Caleb, and he doubted her memory issues once or twice, but they quickly learned that they needed to lean on each other to survive and get someplace safe. The romance building between them was sweet, with more important emphasis on their safety. I appreciated how the author wove faith throughout the story naturally. Olivia was living a nightmare even before she lost her memory, but she leaned on her faith and became more and more courageous with each roadblock they encountered. Caleb was a hero and a caring, patient man with a great sense of humor. Amid scary situations and several injuries, they would take a beat, plan, and follow through. I was immediately invested in both Caleb’s and Olivia’s lives. And Ranger was a lovable, amazing, well-trained canine who wormed his way right into my heart.
Exposing Lethal Secrets is a thriller that you need to plan for before you start reading. It is a book that is impossible to put down. Courage. Danger. Faith. This story is action-packed, filled with suspense, a side of romance, a touch of humor, and inspiring messages of faith. I was up late thinking… just one more chapter… just one more chapter until I reached the final page. As the title states, the secrets are lethal. Add to that, the betrayal is real. I wanted to see justice. I wanted to see Olivia safe and happy. And I was going to sleep until my wants were fulfilled. Ms. Alexander blew me away with this one. For all those reasons, you will find Exposing Lethal Secrets on my best reads of 2025.

Exposing Lethal Secrets is a story filled with action, suspense, and danger. I am a fan of Deena Alexander’s books, and this one does not disappoint. Loved the characters and how they are thrown together as danger starts and escalates for Olivia from the beginning. Caleb is a true hero helping the damsel in distress with his K-9 partner. A fast paced page-turner mixed with betrayal, loss, suspense and romance gives you all the makings of a great read. I highly recommend this book.

Exposing Lethal Secrets by Deena Alexander is a fast-paced mystery filled with intrigue and suspense. I love it.
Will Caleb keep Olivia safe while she searches for her memory?
Olivia is our heroine, and she is a dosey. She is intelligent and capable of handling many things, but sometimes she doesn't pick the right person to trust. There are times when family is the last one you should trust. Olivia and her father had an excellent relationship, but her half-siblings and Olivia did not. Her moral compass is strong even when she can't remember who she is.
I enjoyed getting to know Olivia. She is a great heroine, and her strong faith keeps her moving forward. I found that honorable. However, she put herself in harm's way and didn't know her brother and sister very well. That was almost her undoing.
Caleb is a fine hero. He has some trust issues, which is understandable due to his past, but he has a good soul. Caleb's goal is to save as many people as he can. This makes him as honorable as Olivia. He just has way more training than she does. You know, the whole former military and former FBI agent kind of trumps analyst, computer hacker, and artist.
I enjoyed Caleb and Olivia's story. The two of them work so well together, and the more they get to know each other, the better they are. They each bring out the best in the other. Also, I really enjoy Ms. Alexander's happy, justice-filled endings. They are magnificent.
Five Stars My rating for Exposing Lethal Secrets by Deena Alexander is five stars. I love these action-packed, shorter stories that are thrilling and inspirational. I do recommend it, and the others in the Jameson Investigations Series.
Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Exposing Lethal Secrets by Deena Alexander.
The Jameson Investigations team works together like a well-oiled machine, and Exposing Lethal Secrets demonstrates this even more than we’ve already seen in this series. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Before we encounter protection specialist Caleb Miller and his faithful K-9, Ranger, we get a front row seat to the beginning of Olivia Delaney’s nightmare. Right from the beginning, thanks to the author’s talent at immersing us in the story, I felt like I was desperately fleeing with Olivia and gasped out loud at a shocking plot twist (yes, in the first chapter) that convinced me I wouldn’t be able to put down this book until I reached the last word. It’s after she barely escapes with her life (and forgets everything, even her name) that we meet up with Caleb & Ranger – just in time, too – and then the real fun begins.
Because even though Olivia and Caleb are literally in a fight for survival, one that gets dicier as their respective injuries start piling up, their shared chemistry and mutual senses of humor kept a big grin on my face more often than not. I loved Olivia’s easy smile in spite of her arduous circumstances, and I especially loved how her courage and inner strength set Caleb’s heartbeat delightfully off kilter. They are probably my favorite Deena Alexander couple so far, which is saying a lot because I always love her characters and their relationship dynamics. And adding Ranger in the mix too was icing on the cake. These three are an easy-to-root-for trio, and I was completely invested in how everything would turn out for them.
Bottom Line: Exposing Lethal Secrets by Deena Alexander is an action-packed suspense novel with layered characters (whom you’ll really enjoy getting to know) and a fresh & engaging take on the amnesia trope. I loved the sweet romance and the gentle notes of faith throughout, both of which – as well as some fun humor – provided momentary reprieves from the intensity of the suspense part of the plot. Seriously, keep reminding yourself to breathe while you read this one, or you might get so caught up in the high stakes that you become lightheaded from lack of oxygen. (Ask me how I know) I can’t wait to see what the Jameson Investigations team takes on next – or who they’ll end up helping (and falling in love with).

Unique characters, fast-paced action, a hardworking K-9, and a dedicated hero blend together to make this one of my favorite reads in this genre for 2025 . . .
Olivia Delaney works with her half-brother and half-sister at the family's successful investment firm founded by their father many years ago. When their father died unexpectedly, her older half-brother, Tristan, took over the company. Her half-sister, Amy, also works for the firm. Tension between the siblings has always been present, but now it's almost intolerable.
Questions arise about Tristan's business actions when Olivia finds her father's journal in a safe in his home. The journal documents controversial actions taken by Tristan at the firm, leaving Olivia with many questions.
Olivia, a computer software expert, decides to download the proof she needs to prove that things are not as they should be at the firm. From that moment on, Olivia is pursued relentlessly by violent assailants.
In the course of the action she meets bodyguard Caleb Miller who is on vacation with his K-9, Ranger. This threesome works together to navigate and solve this complex plot in an attempt to keep Olivia safe and solve the mystery at the firm.
I have read several of this author's Love Inspired Suspense novels, and she is a master at inserting action and danger into every possible scene throughout the plot. Ranger is a delightful addition to the story because of his loyalty, skills, and ability to comfort both Caleb and Olivia.
This story has a strong faith thread which I really appreciated. The book is completely clean in content and language.
I received a copy of this book from the author through Great Escapes Virtual Book Tours. All of my opinions and thoughts shared here are solely my own.
So, amnesia isn’t my favourite trope when it comes to suspense, maybe because it’s become so popular in recent years and it’s kind of getting old…until I stumble upon a thrill of a read like this one. A+to the author for including all the favourite ‘feels’ of this trope while creatively crafting it into the story in a unique way.
In the first chapter, we meet Olivia pre-accident, memory intact, in a nail-biting scene that catapults her into a desperate fight for her life…and her memories. We know a bit more than she does, but not enough to figure everything out which made the suspense so intriguing.
And there’s Caleb, ready for some well deserved R&R with his K-9 bestie but suddenly they find themselves in the middle of a ‘situation’ – hello, flaming car, flying bullets and a damsel in distress. And the race is on – to stay alive while figuring out the answers. Of course, it helps that Caleb is part of an elite private security team who can pool their resources and come to their aid.
Thrilling action scenes punctuated by calmer ones as Caleb and Olivia regroup and get to know each other. Love the way their romance develops in the midst of all the chaos around them. And I enjoyed being back with the team too. While not tagged as part of a series, the author has written several books featuring this team. No worries though, ‘Exposing Lethal Secrets’ can easily be read as a standalone.
I listened to the audio edition of this book and narrator Teri Schnaubelt did a fantastic job bringing these characters (and their action-packed adventures) to life.
My thanks to Harlequin Audio and Net Galley for providing me with an audio edition of this novel.
3.5 Stars: Exposing Lethal Secrets is a romantic suspense story set in both a California Desert and a Florida forest. Caleb Miller and his K-9 search and rescue dog Ranger are on vacation, relaxing and recovering from their last case. When Caleb sees flames, he investigates and finds a burning limo at the bottom of a hill. Following a trail, they find a young woman injured and with amnesia. When someone starts shooting at them, his training kicks in and the rest of the story he is not only trying to protect the woman he found, but helps her figure out who she is and who might be trying to kill her.
I enjoyed this book and it's characters. The story was somewhat predictable, but what I really liked was how faith was embedded in the story. I enjoy books with K-9 characters and the partnership of Caleb and Ranger was excellent. Caleb was good at his job and his investigative skills, as well as his protection ones helped the story unfold in an exciting and interesting way. Olivia might be the victim in this story, but she is not a victim in life. She is smart, capable in the outdoors and suspicious of everyone, like she should be under the circumstances. The setting plays an important part in the story, and is very well described. As secrets are revealed, and motives determined, the story moved quickly to a satisfying conclusion. This is a story of greed, power, justice, dysfunctional family and faith. I did a read listen with this book and enjoyed both formats. Teri Schnaubelt added just the right amount of urgency with her voices, tone and expression. If you enjoy a good, clean romantic suspense story with a K-9 character like I do, then I am sure you will enjoy this story.
This audiobook is a clean, Christian, suspense romance that will keep the listeners on the edge of their seats. It all starts when Olivia Delaney is in a crash and develops amnesia. On vacation and hiking around the area, are Jameson Investigations bodyguard Caleb Miller and his K-9, Ranger. When they see the car wreck , they end up rescuing Olivia and find themselves under fire. Rescuing and keeping Olivia safe becomes important to Caleb. But as the danger increases, and feelings develop, he is not sure he can trust her. His past relationship has him doubting himself and dictating his present. When Olivia’s memory returns, plans are made to take matters into their hands since the danger intensified . Will they be able to survive the danger and find their HEA? This is a story about faith, trust, and taking chances in life and love. I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook by Netgalley and Harlequin Audio. The opinions expressed are solely my own,
This an action packed story that has some romance in it. Caleb and his K-9 Ranger find Olivia when they spot a car wreck in the woods. They come under fire during the rescue and his vacation is officially over. They escape and with the help of his team, they try to figure out who is after Olivia and why. Hampering the problems are her amnesia. Danger surrounds her and keeping her safe is challenging. He starts to develop feeling for her but his past makes him leery of trusting her. After her memory returns a plan is made to try and rescue her sister and take down her brother. Things are never that easy and they have to adapt to the changing field in order to survive and save the day. It has a good ending after all the peril Olivia, Caleb and Ranger go through with hope they have a less chaotic future.
Caleb and his K9 Ranger are on a well-deserved and needed vacation when they come across a burning car and a hurt lady, Olivia, who can’t remember anything except she is being hunted, but when gunmen start shooting it is time to go on the run. Can Caleb and K9 Ranger keep Olivia alive and help her get her memory back before the gunman catches up to them. Harlequin audio is making a name for themselves with all of these awesome K9 audios, and this one will not disappoint. The author has researched K9’s and other aspects of this story very well and it shows. This audio is really good and the narrator Teri Schnuabelt is wonderful and really brings this story to life. This story line is awesome and I would love to know Caleb’s team so I can learn some of their skills. Overall I really like this audio and cannot wait for more. Exposing Lethal Secrets by Deena Alexander is an action-packed tale. My attention was captured immediately, and it was held as I kept reading to find out what would happen next. I liked the main characters, Olivia and Caleb, as well as Caleb’s K-9 partner, Ranger. I cannot imagine what it must be like to suffer amnesia (I don’t believe forgetting why you walked into a room counts). Feelings develop between Olivia and Caleb (only natural) as they fight to survive the men after Olivia. There is an inspiring thread of faith woven throughout the story. The ending left me smiling. Exposing Lethal Secrets is a thrilling tale with an incriminating thumb drive, ruined R&R, missing memories, evading bad guys, a protective canine, trust troubles, and proceeding with a plan.

I am reviewing a copy of Exposing Lethal Secrets through Harlequin Audio and Netgalley:
Caleb Miller hadn’t expected to spend his vacation acting as a bodyguard to an injured woman, nor did he expect to have to protect her from the gunmen who hsd opened fire on them.
Olivia Delaney has no memories of what happened or why ahe’s being targeted. His need to protect Olivia has him an d his K-9 companion going on the run with Olivia! In the quest to untangle her past, and help her remember before her family’s deadly schemes, end up getting them both killed!
I give Exposing Lethal Secrets five out of five stars!
Exposing Lethal Secrets by Deena Alexander, hits it right out from the beginning!
Olivia Delaney is running out of her families business into a limo and a gun pointed at her head. When the limo crashes, she barley makes it out alive - all she knows - (her memory of everything GONE) is she needs to run for her life.
Bodyguard Caleb Miller and his K-9 dog are off duty - trying to escape his last assignment that went wrong, when he sees smoke and finds Olivia in the middle of nowhere and no idea of why. When guns start going nowhere is safe.
This has you from the "first page" and was an enjoyable quick read!
I haven't read a book by Deena Alexander. I thought she did a great job with this Love Inspired Suspense title. This review is for the audio book. I am often disappointed by the readers for this series of books. This reader, however, did not disappoint. I thought the presentation was thoughtful and the voicing was done very well.. The pace was just right. I really wanted to stick with the story and keep listening. So many times the reader is just so boring but this reader was great and it really made the book interesting. I appreciate NetGalley and Harlequin audio for giving me the chance to listen to this as an arc.
I love Deena Alexander’s Love Inspired Suspense books and have read them all! She’s got the ability to draw you in from page one, and once you start, you won’t want to stop! Exposing Lethal Secrets was no exception.
When Olivia Delaney discovers some unethical practices going on in her late father’s business, she wants to hand the evidence to the police and wash her hands of the whole thing. However, she never gets there because she’s in an accident and loses her memory. While taking some time off, Caleb Greene is hoping to relax with his dog after a harrowing case. Then he sees smoke, runs to help, and finds himself mixed up with this wandering woman who has lost her memory and has people shooting at her!
I was totally enthralled while reading Exposing Lethal Secrets! It’s one of those books that you just can’t read fast enough. The action propels the story from one dangerous situation to another, and realistic characters make you care about them in those situations. The author skillfully depicts the different settings, and I was seriously stressed when they were in the Florida swamps. As much as I love visiting Florida, there sure is a lot of wildlife that wants to kill you! Okay, maybe they don’t want to but still…they can.
This is a clean Christian romance, and I just loved watching Olivia and Caleb fall in love as they navigate the dangerous situations they’re thrown into. I highly recommend Exposing Lethal Secrets for its thrilling action, wonderfully written characters, atmospheric suspense, sweet romance, and theme of trusting God’s plan. 5 stars!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

This was my first Deena Alexander book, but it certainly won't be my last - I've discovered another favorite author.
Exposing Lethal Secrets is a gripping tale replete with action, suspense, and peril. The characters are relatable and endearing, making this fast-paced page-turner a compelling read, expertly woven with elements of betrayal, loss, suspense, and romance. I highly recommend this book.
Great story that weaves together suspense, romance and a deeper message. Well-written characters and well-drescribed scenery. I found the opening hard to get stuck into and a couple of twists predictable but that didn't stop me from being unable to put this down once I'd read the first few pages. I especially enjoyed seeing some of the characters from Hiding The Witness appear in this and hope to see other characters' stories unfold in Deena's other work. Really enjoyable escapism and I look forward to reading more.
I received a complimentary audiobook copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
This was a romantic love inspired suspense and I enjoyed the twists and turns throughout the book. The ending threw me for a loop with one of the family members and I felt for the FMC in that regard.
You have a protective MMC who works to find answers when the FMC has amnesia. His K-9 was also a star in this book! Great read.
A grieving daughter desperate to finish what her dad started. What she didn't expect was how quickly and desperately those responsible for everything would come after her. He's supposed to be on vacation but finds himself in the wrong place at the right time. Now he has to find a way to keep them alive until they can figure out what they are dealing with.
Exposing Lethal Secrets by Deena Alexander, narrated by Teri Schnaubelt. This is a Christian romantic suspense. With a mystery to be solved and a child to keep safe with someone trying to murder them, but why? Perfect beach read. Very enjoyable narration. There were weird pauses that were happening, hopefully that will be fixed before the release date of July 1, 2025. Thank you to #NetGalley and #Harlequin Audio for this Arc.
