About the author

TL Mayhew is a Contemporary and Dark Romance writer from Nebraska. Her love for reading started back in elementary school when her favorite books, The Black Stallion, Black Beauty and Misty of Chincoteague all seemed to have one theme... a horse as the leading character. It's fair to say that since then her reading tastes have changed and now, instead of a horse as the leading character it's a hot alpha.

In high school TL took a creative writing class where she received high praise for her work. At that same time though, boys caught her interest and any urge to write went via the way side.

It wasn't until she married and had two kids, that TL put any thought in to writing. And even then it was close to a year before any words were put on paper. Amazingly those words were the direct result of a question "Do you want to give it a try?" from an Author TL idolizes. If it weren't for that question she may never have realized her love for writing and wouldn't have her first work releasing in January 2018.

Another fun read from this talented author! Doctor Jingle Bells is a short novella which takes place at Christmas-time, has a sexy Plastic Surgeon, two best friends, and one best-friend's fiancee.

Dr. Kristian Krengel is your above average Plastic Surgeon...he's bossy, smart, exudes confidence, and makes the ladies swoon. Holly Snow is a former patient of his who doesn't remember him...SHOCKING! She's trying to pin down a hotel ballroom for her BFF's wedding on Christmas Day. Dr. Krengel is at the hotel for a Medical Conference when he crosses paths with Holly and the sparks begin to fly! It's not long before Dr. Krengel remembers operating on Holly...but he doesn't mention it to her!

I loved the interaction between these two. The Doc has all the "lines" to reel Holly in and Holly has all the sass and "comebacks" she needs to keep him at bay, but somewhere along the line her resolve breaks down and she gives in to his smooth-talking, lip-locking ways! Their steamy encounters are fun, fun, fun!

I really enjoyed reading this short novella. The ending was great, but came quickly and was way too short for me. I would have loved it to be stretched out a bit more and go on a little longer, but it was great nonetheless. Grab this fun, quick read and get in the holiday spirit with Doctor Jingle Bells!

Doctor Jingle Bells was short & sweet, but I guess I needed just a bit more to give it all the stars. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this author so much, but it did feel a tad too rushed I guess. Holly is trying to get a wedding planned for her best friend, but she's coming upon some things standing in her way. She had a place but they went another way so she marches down to the hotel to give them a piece of her mind. She ended up stranded there so she's going for some dinner when she ends up sitting at Kristian's table since the place was filled, and the sparks are flying between them. Little did she know that he was the doctor who saved her life several years ago, and it does cause a little trouble since he didn't fess up right away. Will Christmas magic help her get past that in order for her to have a shot at happily ever after? You know what to do to find out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is a little rushed storyline. But you do get the whole story. I just wish the romance between Holly and Kristan could have been a little more than what we got. Holly is working her butt off to get everything planned for her best friend's wedding in a very small amount of time. She will literally do whatever it takes to make this wedding go off without one single problem.
Holly suffered a tragic accident that left her scarred. The doctor that worked on her was Kristan. She never saw him after the accident but now he is right there. Kristan feels for her but knows that the scars don't make her who she is. Holly is perfect inside and out. She is the woman that Kristan wants to make happy ever after with. But Holly is not so sure of what is happening between them.
This was a cute holiday read. I highly recommend.

Here's the deal - I liked the story I really did, but something is keeping me from giving it a 5* rating.
I keep trying to come up with a reason why, but all I can think of is that their night together felt a bit off. I'm not sure why it's just Kristian and Holly (in my opinion) needed more time to see what they could be to each other, if that makes sense.

And yes I understand that this was a short story and all but the whole physical relationship needed more time to develop to the degree that it was at by the end of the book. Other than that I had no other issues with it. If you like a holiday themed short story this series is for you.

This is the first story I’ve read by T.L. Mayhew and I loved it! What a charming holiday story! An unfortunate accident 3 years ago has Holly scarred both physically and emotionally and no longer enjoying the holiday season. While trying to secure the hotel for her best friend’s Christmas wedding, she meets Kristian, a doctor who is there for a conference. It turns out that he had been the one who had performed the life saving surgery on Holly years ago. The sparks fly between them immediately and he is determined to show her how beautiful he thinks she is. I love that with his help, she begins to gain her confidence back and celebrate the holidays again. It’s the perfect holiday novella!

Holly is rushing to plan a Christmas wedding for her best friend, Bridgett, at a hotel. Due to an issue with the booking, she ends up at the hotel and bumping into Kristian.

Unknown to her, she shares a history with Kristian due to an accident. Can she overcome the past and give their mutual attraction a chance?

As this is a novella, the story is pretty fast-paced. The Christmas atmosphere is prevalent throughout and I liked how it was merged seamlessly into the story. The ending was just perfect for the couple.

Holly Snow will do anything for her BFF Bridgett's wedding, so when she has a snafo with the venue and runs into Doctor Kristian Krengel. He is familiar to her but she can't place him. After being snowed in they spend one delicious night until the truth comes out. I loved the twist in this story and it kept me enthralled until the very end.

This is a story that gives us strong, lovable characters, and a read that packs a lot into a quick read. Holly is a very determined woman with a bit of fire and those sparks fly with Kristian. I enjoyed their connection, the spice, and that sweet that ties it all together. Snuggle up under a warm blanket and enjoy.
