Book Two in the Bestselling Fractured Era: Legacy Code series

Tadeo Raines knows what they say about him. It’s all lies.

But lies are better than the truth.

He broke the rules once and swore he’d never do it again. Now traitors plot against the fleet, and he's tasked with hunting them down and stopping them. Permanently.

Tadeo was born to command, born to lead the last remnant

I have one thing to say: I FREAKING KNEW IT!!! HAHAHAHAH!!!

Hearing the truth and believing the truth are two different things. Are you willing to give the insane a chance? Or will be living by the rules be the correct way of life?

Paragon starts where The Legacy Code ended, Era being in air lock. I wish she could somehow survived :/. I was crying through half of the book, the emotions of the characters are so strong I couldn't escape them.
There will be spoilers, so you may not read the review but want to say is that this series is a must read!!! so give it a try.
In this it is mostly from Tadeo's POV, I didn't like him that much in Legacy Code, I don't think i

So, this book was nuch better than the first one. And maybe because it was more action on it and not so much drama. I love books that have more action on it. Keeps me more alive and more focused on it.

I think the story and the writing was more mature than the first book. I have to say that the first book kinda bored me. But I still loved it. But this one… OMG! I wanted more, and more, and more. And when it finally came to the fun part… Boom. The End. So know I have to wait until 2015 to find ou

I’ve read the two books before this one in the series. This one was not as good as its predecessors. It was more a rehash rather than the introduction of new ideas. If there is a fourth, I may just pass.

Enjoyed this book, but it left me with more questions than answers so my rating reflects that puzzlement. Would have liked a clearer picture at the end.

A bit slow to start. What feel like unconnected pieces of writing start coming together by design. Like a jigsaw puzzle, you start to see the whole being filled in. Yes, this section connects here and you insert this tab like that and .....!
Now I want to read the sequel to this; AND the prequel.
I liked the way this story is being told. Two sections are complete. I need the other sections.

Paragon picks up right where Legacy stops, which is actually really good, given the cliff hanger Legacy stops on.
We have a shift in characters in Paragon, Tadeo the future Captain of one of the major ships and Zephyr, one of the Captains of the less major ships, are the two key players in this story.
Whilst it does still focus on previous characters, the story has evolved, and as such, Autumn Kalquist has evolved the characters along with it, deciding to move the story to different characters, al

After reading Legacy Code, the first book in this series, I was really curious to see how Paragon continued this series. I found paragon to be a little bit slower then Legacy Code, but it was still a good book. It continues some plot lines from the first book and introduces a few new ones. There are some surprised and it ended with a bang!

This series has me intrigued, it feels realistic, real and frightening at the same time. Humanity is alone i

I received a free ARC of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start off saying, that if a second book can be better then the first, this is a prime example.

I don't want to give away anything, so I can only be vague. But this book far surpasses the first one (and I loved that one).

The characters are so real and complex, it's such a pleasure to read about them. Even the side characters are real, feel fully fleshed out, and contribute something to the story. Even if t

Paragon picks up right where Legacy Code ended. This book was very interesting as it was in the point of view of Tadeo Raines. The man who air locked Era! I hated him in Legacy Code. I started to like him more in this one. I does make a difference when you see all the politics going on and what is inside his head. There was so much more then Era ever knew. This whole situation goes way higher up in the ranks then she knew. I wish Tadeo would have been able to talk to Era before she died though I ...more

After such a heart wrenching ending to Legacy Code (see my review here) I was eager to get to read Paragon.
I wanted to see where the story was going to go.
Would the secrets Era discovered be told to the whole fleet?
So many questions!

The story was told through 3 different point of views, Tadeo, Zephyr, and another character which I won't name because it would

I read The Legacy Code and Paragon in one sitting, the both taking less than 4 hours. First, it was a relief to read a book by a new author that was well written and edited, with proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

The first book was free through Bookpub and I purchased the 2nd as it was sale at Amazon this week, based on the reviews already published. The first book is very short. The second is more lengthy.

I found the characters, the ship, and the politics interesting. The plot is slow i

Part 2 kicks the story up several notches.

I received a free copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This book starts immediately after the action of book one, Legacy Code.

Good news! The depressing events of book one were not all reported accurately. One of the (apparently) dead characters managed to survive, barely. The struggles of this character to continue residing in the land of the living is one of the two main foci of the book.

The other is the royal-blooded securi

eARC received from the author.

I felt like Paragon suffered from Second Book Syndrome. I don't know, even though there were a lot of revelations, I still liked Legacy Code better.

I guess Tadeo being a very stubborn character contributed to my dislike of this book. I really liked Era's narration and was completely immersed in the story because The Legacy Code was full of suspense and thrill. Tadeo was so annoying. So were all of the other characters; the Chief, the president, the board

Have you ever read a book series that had a wonderful setting that drew you in, only to find the characters so loathsome and vile that you wanting nothing good to happen to them? Well, here is such a series. Kalquist's world is engaging, interesting, and immersive. You can feel the harsh life these people lead on these old derelict ships as they look for a New Earth. However, when the main characters enter into the mix, you want nothing good to happen to them. They are all flawed in some way, wh ...more

Autumn Kalquist continues to surprise me in the continuation of her Legacy Code series. This book was better than the first two, and makes me think I will keep reading as the next books come.

This novel plays out more as a political thriller than a sci-fi story, and that works. The setting is the fleet's command vessel, but the plot is all spies and intrigue. She uses multiple points of view here, which helps her tell the story, although I'm not the biggest fan of two out of three of the main cha

Paragon starts right where Legacy Code ends, which was something I really liked.
The book is written in different POV's. That to me is really interesting and a really good way to know more of the main characters. For example, I started loving Zephyr in this book. We see much more of her in Paragon than in Legacy Code and we see how strong she is.
The book is really fast paced, full of surprises and the plot is very interesting.

Holy Moly..this series is GREAT! It's intense, exciting, heartbreaking, it pulls your emotions in so many different directions during the WHOLE book.

Paragon starts right where Legacy Code left off..if you were emotionally invested in Legacy Code, wait til you read Paragon. Paragon is Tadeo's story...I wasn't all that excited about him in Legacy Code but you get to see the whole picture and a different side of him in Paragon. Just as good as the first book Legacy Code

This is a continuation of Legacy Code and is just as well written. Era is dead. But her partner is not. And Tadeo, who had followed orders to kill her, could not keep her out of his thoughts.

Can her partner stay alive long enough to be found on the planet? Is Tadeo's mother a traitor? What did Era hide and where is it? Are the traitors trying to destroy the ship?

This book is the continuation of the story about genetically modified humans searching for

Phenomenal...that's the best word to describe it. Autumn Kalquist manages to weave a tale that is jam packed with suspense and whodunit plots. In Legacy Code we were briefly introduced to Era and learned of her unfortunate demise. Paragon picks up right where Legacy Code left us at, starting with Tadeo having just airlocked her. Everyone now believes that the Paragon deka is safe since all the terrorists were taken care of, but is it? This story will take twists and turns you can't foresee, with ...more

I like the way this book just stepped in and kept going where Legacy Code left off.

Tadeo Raines, one of the main characters, I did not like him in the beginning but he is growing on me. I think he and Era would have made a good team. But now she is dead. There’s more to Tadoe than meets the eye. He is loyal but also sneaky. I think he and Zephyr will end up together, or I hope they do. I am not sure if she can look over he and Era though.

There is so much going on in this face paced book that i

This book was so much better than the first one and I really liked it. It has so many twists and turns that keep you guessing throughout the whole book. It picked up where the first one stopped and I didn't even see a major twist at the very beginning. It is sad in some places, but moves on quickly enough not to dwell on the sadness. There are still some questions left over about the first is the defect really real? Can a baby survive that has the defect? Who were ALL the traitors i ...more
