What do Lt. Jacqueline "Jack" Daniels and private investigator Nicholas Colt have in common?

Billiards, bourbon, bad jokes...

And murder. Several, in fact.

A homeless woman's remains are found near Chicago twenty-six years after she disappeared. Her daughter--now retired in Florida--suspects foul play, and she hires Colt to fly up there and check it out.

A prominent Chicago physician is slain outside a convenience store, horribly mutilated. A senseless street killing? A robbery gone wrong? Or something much worse?

As the homicide cases and those involved converge, it quickly becomes apparent that Jack Daniels and Nicholas Colt are in for the most challenging--and deadly--time of their lives.

Filled with humor, suspense, and mystery, LADY 52 is sure to satisfy longtime Daniels and Colt fans, and is a perfect introduction to both series. It's approximately 250 pages long.

Konrath and Hardin previously collaborated on the Daniels/Colt short story RACKED.

Really enjoyed this book.

This is my third Jack Daniels adventure and I haven't been disappointed yet. Fast paced with quips and puns, it's a great way to spend an afternoon read.

Lady 52 is a modern day crime mystery with lots of twists and turns. Jack Daniels is a fashion conscious police Lieutentant. She once again meets up with Florida PI Nicholas Colt a very layed back back guy. He is in town to investigate a cold case for a client whose homeless Mother died in a house fire many years ago, the client thinks her Mother was murdered and she is paying Colt to find evidence of it . The story is scary, witty, funny and tragic as they each pursue their separate cases and become entangled in murder and mayhem. I found this book hard to put down. I,m looking for ward to the next Jack Daniels book

Overworked, savvy, fashion-conscious big city police lieutentant "Jack" Daniels meets up once again with laid-back Florida PI Nicholas Colt when Colt comes to town to check out clues on the death of a client's mother many years ago. The story is witty, scary, funny and tragic as Daniels and Colt pursue their separate cases and become entangled in murder and mayhem. You never know when you turn the page if you'll be laughing or crying. I found it hard to put the book down.

This novel was one of thirty-something freebies I downloaded en masse. There’s a fine line between clever repartee and obnoxious frivolity in dialogue, and these authors tried that line very closely. They also need to hire a good editor; I find the frequent grammar/usage errors annoying. Aside from those two things, this was a pretty good novel. I have read other Konrath novels, but this was my first Hardin.

Twenty-six years after she disappeared the remains of a woman are found. The daughter turns to Nicholas Colt, private investigator, to prove it was murder. His investigation takes him to Chicago, the home of Detective Jack Daniels. Jack and her partner are investigating the death of a doctor.
Interesting and enjoyable mysteries.

A business trip to Chicago turns deadly...

When Nicholas Colt accepts an assignment into a 26 year old case, he and his girlfriend, Laurie battle an international terrorist with the help of a pair of jocular Chicago detectives. Life threatening torture is foisted upon the lot of them without hope for survival. Gripping, edge-of-your-seat action!

Jack Daniels and Nicholas Colt are reunited when a case takes Colt to Chicago. An over 25 year missing person case, murdered people with their faces taken off, & a lot of Harry McGlade converge to make this a satisfying mystery. My first foray into Colt & I will backtrack and read the Colt series. Love Jack Daniels series & I missed this one in the reading order.

Loved the book

However, they need to list the Nicholas Colt books in chronological order. They did so at the end of one of the books I read, but not the others. Each book is good standalone, but each book builds on the others. Recommend

Jack Daniel's and Nicolas Colt meet on Daniel's turf of Chicago this time. He's investigating a 26 year old possible murder and she's trying to catch a killer who takes faces. A fun story that I enjoyed pretty quickly.

I never get tired of reading the Jack Daniels books! I wasn't as crazy for Colt....... but Jack stole the book anyway, so it didn't matter. I DO love the fact that so many authors join together to write horror stories with each others already famous characters. Keep on reading!

I like the tough as nails detective, Jacqueline Daniels. She can dish out trouble as well as the bad guys. She and her partner are a good fit in this series. I’ve read several of the Jack Daniels books and always enjoy the adventure!

This was my first Nichols Colt story. He seems cool. I of course live my Jack Daniels series so it was a decent read. Interesting how both stories crossover. I kind of like Del Chivo gets away with it and back to Columbia. Sad that Colt lost another lived one.

Love can harm you

This story puts you right where the action suspends you. Descriptions of Chicago and Florida are pretty accurate. You are there in the alley with the filth of society.

No, did not work for me. Haven't read anything with Colt yet and I am also not sure I should. This reads like two stories written in parallel, in the end painstakingly stitched together with some scenes.
Rather enjoy JD without a crossover.

Very good story. I could not put it down. I was surprised at who it turned out to be. That was a twist. I really love JA Konrath's books and cannot wait to read the rest.

Another great thriller

Konrath always shoots it out of the park. First time reading a coauthor book with Hardin. Both brought a great thriller that doesn't disappoint.

Punny, action filled, Herb eats, and Harry is gross. Just what you expect in a Jack Daniels novel.
