About the author

As a proud parent, I am regularly surrounded by inspiration at home, and one day, the creative juices overflowed, and I started jotting down ideas, sentences, and rhymes. What began as a project of love, inspired by my redhead son (my own Little Red Fox), evolved into a heartwarming tale that teaches kids how to handle bullying, encourages them to embrace and take pride in their differences, and promotes friendship, inclusion, and social skills. With its heartfelt message, I hope Little Red Fox and his Fluffy Ginger Locks will resonate with parents and young children, encouraging them to celebrate what makes them unique, to be proud and confident in who they are, and to teach them how to stand up for themselves and others!

Beautiful illustrations

The pictures of the little foxes in this story are so pretty and Little Red Fox is such a cutie. The general story about embracing differences was a great idea. Sadly, for me the words did not flow as rhythmically as I was expecting. Worth checking out for the great illustrations.

If you’re looking for a book to read your kids which illustrates the importance of embracing differences, standing up to bullying and the power of acceptance and resilience in the face of adversity then look no further! Little Red Fox and his Fluffy Ginger Locks is a gorgeous rhyming book for parents to share with their kids to assist with the discussion on diversity and bullying.
I read this book with my daughter and it was a great tool to spark the bigger conversations on people’s differences and what we can do when someone is being bullied.
My daughter is 6 so I did find it a little long for her attention span, however older kids will have no issue with this. The beautiful illustrations and rhyming story help you embrace this story from Maple Sugar Creek.
I highly recommend this beautiful book for all parents to share with their children and I’ve even passed on the book details to my teacher friends and I believe it would be a great classroom resource. This will definitely be put on our regular rotation to instil this beautiful message.

Brief summary: All the foxes were brown until Little Red Fox was born. He loved dancing and playing in the forest but was made fun of by some of the brown foxes for having red fur and bluish-green eyes, not brown fur and brown eyes. Little Red Fox told his parents what was happening, and they comforted him and advised him on what to do when being bullied, making him feel confident.

He was dancing in a big puddle when the GIANT brown fox came along and made fun of him again. Little Red Fox remembered what his parents had said the night before. Was he able to stand up for himself? What did the nearby little brown foxes do and feel?

Comments: This is a cute and colorful rhyming story to share with preschoolers and kindergartners about how others may be different from us, and that's okay. It also teaches what to do if someone is bullying you: 1)talk to an adult first, and in some situations, 2)bravely stand your ground.
