Explores the Christiana, Delaware area, including the economic, social. racial, and cultural background through the region's history and the author's personal experiences.
I really enjoyed this memoir of growing up in a small (very small) town in Delaware. I'm almost the same age as the author, and knew her when we were both students at the University of Delaware. Her memories from her childhood in the 1950s were very similar to mine, although I grew up in a small town in another state before moving to Delaware. A very nice read.
Fairly decent book. I like books that tell the story of growing up in a bygone era. It tells of the political and racial challenges as well as dealing with rapid growth in an era when the area changed very quickly.
