I really connected with this short story. I think anyone that has been in an abusive relationship (emotionally or physical) will feel for the main character, Jen. She isn't perfect but she's typical of many who feel trapped and powerless. I highly recommend this story. ...more

This story brings home with startling clarity how life can get twisted. Wonderfully written from the mysterious beginning to the chilling end, you could do a lot worse for .99 than getting Never Again.
I’ve read work from this author under her real name, but this is my first venture into the work of Rosa Storm. Having that prior reading experience, I can see that all that I’ve enjoyed about this author’s writing in the past shines through to this story as well. The major difference, it’s much darker and there’s even more depth, drawing the reader into the character’s situation.

Never Again hits on spousal abuse, a big problem in society today. Jen thought she married well, until Ken started telling her she couldn't have friends over.. Never Again is a very short horror story, but just like the blurb says, it plays on and explores the deadly consequences of a desperate situation. Since it’s a short, I can’t really say too much without spoilers, but I really enjoyed the psychological aspect. It’s my favorite of the two shorts I’ve read by this author so far.
I enjoyed this story, it was short but to the point of what a woman could do when pushed that little too far...... But did I feel sorry for her husband? ..... read it- and make up your own mind, you wont be disappointed, I loved the writing, and loved the flow - all in all, a great read
