Sam “Solo” Braun lives by one truth, the Grave Diggers Motorcycle Club above all. The creed has served him well, giving him the only real family he’s ever known. He would die for his brothers and them for him, but they don’t know he prefers men over women. Coming out to a group of men who fear no one isn’t high on Solo’s priority list, especially because he’s never indulged in more than one night stands.

Everything changes after one night with Eric James. For the first time, Solo can’t stop thinking about a single night he’d spent with a man. When fate intervenes, Solo comes face to face with his blue-eyed obsession only to find out Eric is a cop. Solo hates cops, and so do his brothers in the club. However, Solo decides to gamble everything and spend more time with Eric under the guise of getting information.

Falling in love with a cop is a very dangerous proposition for a man in Solo’s position, so why can’t he walk away?

That cover is all kinds of sexy. I love the idea of a tattooed biker badass getting together with a by-the-rules detective. But the book irritated me almost immediately by introducing Sam (aka, Solo), the biker, and Eric (or Blue, as Solo calls him), the cop, as they meet at a bar and go home together for a steaming one-night stand that happens OFF PAGE. The fuck, you say? Yeah.

Solo and Blue's entire relationship is based on this connection, but we never see it. They're together twice, barely talk, and all of a sudden they're soul mates. Some back story is introduced, and there's a drug dealer plot that wasn't particularly interesting and didn't make much sense, but the center of the story is the relationship between the two MCs, whose chemistry was never tangible or believable to me. The sexual tension barely got off the ground.

Not all loose ends were wrapped up (waiting on book 2, maybe), and the epilogue was spoiled by what I thought was a totally unnecessary incident.

Ah, the healing power of love! In this charming book by Carol Lynne (that didn't read like a Carol Lynne book to me at all) we have two gallant men trying to make the world a safer place for children. One on the right side of the law and one on the wrong. Both grew up in extremely unstable environments and made the best of what they had, but never really had a place to call home. When these men meet and get to know one another, they know a relationship between them would have a disastrous outcome (outlaw biker and a cop? Nope. Not gonna happen.) but they find themselves drawn to one another nonetheless.

This was a lovely romance with a harsh, ugly backdrop, which just made it that much more interesting. It was an easy, comfortable, happy read and perfect for a M/M romance fan to read when they want to slip away for a few hours and be taken care of while they have a nice bath or relax by a warm window. It just screams comfort and relaxation to me, because that was my feeling while reading this.

I can absolutely recommend this one to all M/M romance fans! You will fall in love with big 'ol Solo, once he get properly laid and gets the grumpies out of his system!

A special "thank you!" to Carroll for reccing this book to me!

Holy Smoking Hot Biker! I know it’s probably hard to believe but Solo is my first Carol Lynne book! Wow… she wrote so many books and I never had her on my radar. Of course one dark, smoking hot, grumpy, tattooed biker changed everything. The cover is stunning, a real eye-catcher, I was drawn to it like moths to a flame…

Never having known a real family, the Grave Diggers Motorcycle Club is Solo’s home. He and his brothers are so close, they would die for each other…and they have a mission to keep the schools in their territory clean of drugs, obviously without asking the cops for support. But his mc-brothers aren’t close enough to know Solo’s biggest secret, his attraction to men. So one night stands are high on his priority list… until he meets Eric ‘Blue’ and one night with him changes everything. Finding out that the first man he is more than just attracted to is a cop who works on the same drugs case doesn’t go down well with him and his gang.

Solo is a testosterone charged biker/cop story, a wet dream come true. Alpha male hard ass biker with a heart of gold meets the man of his dreams with ocean-blue eyes… and holy moly, do these two guys burn up the sheets. Of course a Grave Digger can’t fall in love with a police detective, it’s nothing more than ‘just sex’, right? But when shotguns begin to fire and their lives are in danger, Solo and Blue realise they are deeper into each other than expected.

Blue *swoons* I fell so hard for this guy. Dark hair, light blue eyes, a twin set of fuck-me dimples… is there anything more a girl guy can want? After spending his childhood in foster homes he’s now a cop and is having a hard time coping with the double standards of the police department. When he meets Solo and spends the night with the big bad biker his heart is set on fire, this is the point of no return…

Solo and Blue seem so different but both had a shitty upbringing and never really had a place to call home. So maybe Blue’s house - his first home - can be Solo’s home, too?
“You make me question everything,” he admitted, ”and that scares me.”
“I think I’m falling in love, and I don’t know how to deal with that. It’s not the love I’m afraid of—hell, it’s all I’ve ever wanted.”

The book has everything I like in an easy-going, entertaining read. A big bad biker, a hot cop, a nice, not too complicated plot, motorbikes, leather and tattoos, angst and excitement, hot sex. Add yumminess and a lovely sexy romance and Tina is a goner…

4 burning stars… Can’t wait for the follow-up. I hope it’s going to be Rowdy’s story?

So, this was definitely one of those books where the premise had me doing this
description
(How could it not? It's a story about a BAMF biker and a cop who meet and fall in love!)
but the delivery had me going
description

Okay, so the story of the book is that Eric and Solo meet in a club and spend one night together. Then they meet again weeks later coincidentally because they are both trying to stop drug dealers that are selling to high school kids. Neither can stay away from the other so they agree to see each other while they work on the case together and then BAM! they are both in love. And I was like
description

I think there two main problems with this book 1) it was so short that it did not really allow the relationship between the two characters to develop that well and 2)the first time the characters sleep together is fade to black.

I mean, their whole relationship started because of that night together, and we do not get to see it and really understand what attracted the characters to one another besides their physical appearances. This is why the instalove in this book did not really work. We do not get to see it happening in that first night they are together. The characters meet for the first time, go to Eric's house, fade to black, and then BAM! love. This made it hard to find the emotional attraction between the characters believable, and it was hard to connect to them. And this just made it a purely OK and two star read. I gave it the extra star for the awesome cover, and the fact that there were some great action scenes in the book. I can't really recommend this one. It was enjoyable, I guess, but fairly forgettable...

Oh, good Gods! Look what I found. A guilty pleasure read! What’s not to love about a big, tattooed, badass biker?

Solo (Grave Diggers MC) had me with the cover. The word “MINE!” flashed through my head at first sight. Jumped right over and pulled the buy button trigger.

This story doesn’t mess around. We meet Sam “Solo” Braun, our badass Grave Digger, on the prowl at page one. A man who can rule the room with attitude, danger, and SEX appeal. When he locks his beautiful brown gaze on a target, there is no getting away. And Solo wants Blue—aka Eric James. What Solo didn’t know their first night together was that his supposed one night stand and best fuck ever is a cop. But their paths cross again chasing the same dirtbag drug dealer and the truth comes out and the sparks still fly. Can Eric and Solo make things work, solve the crime, and stay alive?

This a quick, easy read with no drama or angst. It did move and change pretty hard and fast though. One minute Solo is hell bent on walking through this world alone and the next he’s throwing out “I need you”s. Dead if we get caught together to “Hey-come-to bed”. And spilling secrets and past pains waaay too fast. Slow it down, cowboy. I loved the law vs. outlaw idea, but it didn’t have the bite I longed for. No tension or suspense. The changes, developments and crashes just seemed to move on without any flash or fireworks. Hell, a lot of events took place off the page, which disappointed me. I so wanted to see Blue’s reaction to Solo’s biker chili. :) That said though—the no frills, no BS style fit with Solo and his let’s fuck growl. The writing was direct with dashes of humor. Ms. Lynne even caught me off guard a few times with the humor. This made me giggle….

“He understood the point Blue was trying to make, but he wouldn’t let himself get sucked into a conversation about feelings. Hell, he’d only just discovered he had them.”

The epilogue almost bumped this baby down to 2 stars, but I can forgive and forget pretty much any and all epilogues. I’m not a fan of them. This one was fun at first, but turned silly and unnecessary. Plus why, why did you have to So why three stars? Solo earned my smile and bump up to three stars for 3 reasons:

1. Every time Solo called Eric “Blue” I went a bit weak in the knees.

2. The silk robe. *grins*

3. I will be on the lookout for more from this series. I’m hoping for a Rowdy story.

I cannot recommend this read for everyone. But if you have a biker fetish (like me) --climb on board!

Hard core biker with some serious tats and a heart of gold? Excuse me while I wipe up my drool.

Solo and Eric burn up the sheets in this one. I liked both characters and enjoyed the mounting tension as their feelings for each other grew. Although the plot stretched the bounds of reason at times (e.g., a super do-goodie motorcycle club? Get outta here!), I rolled with it and have no regrets.

Bottom line: looking forward to more by this author.

The cover is the sexiest and best thing about the book. I was expecting a hot, gritty, m/m, MC story. What I got in 25% of it was weak dialogue with two men that had zero chemistry. And WTF, I'm waiting for a rough, tattooed, badass biker to get down and dirty with a detective and then their first sex scene after meeting is completely OFF PAGE! This book totally missed the mark for what most readers want in an MC story. So thankful I received this as a loan.

Uh... 2.5? 3?

It was okay. Kinda meh. Started out strong with manly men and lots of posturing but quickly devolved into a big ole sap fest. The epilogue was random and unnecessary. I'd say the best thing about this book is the cover.

Scrumptious

This is a wet dream book for me. We get a hot as hell Alpha biker and MC. But better, it's an MM romance. yes that's right. MM. Solo is a lonely biker, living a "solo" existence. I mean how can he tell his brothers of the Grave diggers MC that he prefers cock? Then he meets Eric. A smoking blue eyes police detective.
things get hot and heavy from the beginning. neither wanting to end the steamy "just sex" relationship.
bullets and fists start flying in this sexy biker romance. Can you think of anything better? loved this book. love, love, love. this is a great start to a series. I need more!!

First off, loved the cover for this book. Two very yummy men that know that for so many reasons that hooking up together is such a bad idea, but can't help themselves. Is it realistic...no, but Solo and Eric were so great together that I didn't care. Love when a bad boy has a sweet side that comes out without it being sappy. I found this story a perfect and sexy romance. Looking forward to more in this series.

Of course I was going to read this book - the biker and cop combination was so appealing - and I wasn't let down. I really enjoyed the story. It had the sizzling elements I expected, plus some unexpected gentle love and tenderness.

The story started with a bang. Two strong men who know what they want. And what they want is sex. Solo is a biker who's not looking for more than a one-night stand. Eric is drawn to the bad-boy appeal of the tattooed biker. It's only later, they discover they are on opposite sides of the law.

This is a story of opposites attract, but it's really a story of two men who want the same things. Solo may be a member of a motorcycle club but he's out to protect the kids from drugs. When he and Eric join forces to catch the bad guy, complications set in.

I liked the pairing of the main characters. I like that Solo was a deep down good guy, and I loved that Eric fell for him. It's not a long story so there's not too much room for character development, but I could see how the men were drawn together. Yes, it's a bit insta-lovey and the sacrifices made for each other happened quickly, but that's okay because I'm a sucker for romantic gestures. Perhaps the major downfall for me was the response of the MC members to the revelation Solo was gay. I wanted more. But I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in return for my honest review.

This book falls very nicely in the category of a guilty pleasure. You know... the kind of books you snuggle down with where the sexy characters are hot and the story is exactly how you want it to be.

Carol Lynne is my guilty pleasure and has been for many years and this book is no different. I loved Solo, but I loved Blue even more. Solo was hot, but Blue just won me over with his general yumminess. This is a lovely sexy romance with a happy ever after, and for the first book in a series it did an awesome job of beginning to world build. Also, stunning cover... licks torso...

Hopefully Rowdy's story is next.

Red solo cup, you're more than just plastic...

More than amazing, you're more than fantastic
And believe me that I'm not the least bit sarcastic (oh yes I am)

Oh, Solo, how I wish you'd been as much fun as the song, but then what was I to expect, you did tell me more than once that you weren't named after the cup, didn't you?

I'm not even sure where to begin with this one. Honestly, I knew going into this it would not be an epic or even fantastic read. I've read more than a few Carol Lynne books, actually somewhere in the area of 50 and in general I find them to be ok, fairly short and sometimes amusing with the occasionally entertaining moment. I would say on average her books are in the area of 100 pages.

Let's start with what I liked about this book...it was short, I liked the cover the image was a good representation of Solo and I like it when a book's cover and title line up with it's content.

So now let's move on to what didn't impress me. I don't want to say what I didn't like because given that I read the whole book that just seems a bit harsh, but in general everything else just didn't work for me. I found the story be a little bit like a quickie. A whole lot of 'wham, bam, thank you sir' and not much in terms of content and substance. In summary we've got a badassed biker who hates cops and a by the book cop who fall in love, solve a crime or two, resolve the issues of their relationship, and move in together to live happily ever after in less than 100 pages and then there's the epilogue and that's all I'm saying because 'what the hell was with that?'

'Solo' is listed as the first book in the series 'Grave Diggers MC'. To be honest I'm hoping Solo stays solo and that's all I have to say about that because at this point to say more could make my review longer that the book.

I am a huge fan of Carol Lynne's writing and her books. I think it was one of the reason I ended up loving the m/m genre. Fantastic love stories!

Solo (Grave Diggers MC #1) is a story of a loyal member of the motorcycle club and the club is the only family he has ever had.

As you get into the story you find out two big secrets about Sola....one he is gay and one he is falling in love with a man who he has no business loving. His club may want to kill him when they find out his secrets.

This story is a must read. I cannot wait for more books in this series.

I cannot get enough of bikers lately, this book satisfied my obsession and then some!!! I love Carol Lynne's books but this maybe my new favorite!

Solo & Blue are an unexpected & oh-so-yummy match!!! This book had just the right amount of angst, excitement & originality for my taste! Looking forward to the next book featuring the Grave Diggers MC, maybe Rowdy's story :-) I hope so Ms Lynne!!

Alright, here's the deal. I've read quite a few of Carol Lynne's books. I usually stop after the first in the series, because they are normally just "okay" and for the price it's not worth it to me to move on. I saw this one though and it was a first in the series and decided to give it a go. This to me did NOT read like a Carol Lynne book. Understand what I mean? I will be snagging up every book in this series.

Solo grew up rough. All he knows is the club ways. He's in the closet, because being gay isn't acceptable in the club. He meets men and it's only a one night stand. So why is it different with "Blue"? Why does he want to go back for seconds and thirds? Then he finds out Blue is a cop. OH HELL NO! He's in a MC and they hate cops!

Eric James (this is my husband's name, so I kept picturing him as Blue) is a Detective and trying to get the drugs out of the schools. When a teen ends up in the ICU after getting some dusted weed, Eric is put on the case. Then he sees his one night stand from a couple weeks ago. Solo. Like the cup?
red solo cup photo: red solo cup SLOP16RLR_2_1.jpg

I loved that conversation ;) But Eric finds out that Solo is part of the Grave Diggers. What?! There is no way this is happening. They are on the opposite sides of the law. But, fighting for the same thing. To get drugs out of the schools.

The more time they spend together the more feelings get involved. What could these two people possibly have in common? Why do they work so well together? They know as soon as the case is solved they will have to go their separate ways.

But what happens when Eric's case reveals some head honcho names? Will Solo live or die when someone finds out he's with Eric? Will Eric be able to protect him?

Have I mentioned I loved this? I am excited to see what's to come! I am going to be impatient waiting for the next books :)

Great beginning of a new series!!! Story is about Solo who is in a MC club named "Grave Diggers". Even though MC gangs are usually trouble and do illegal stuff, this particular one is pretty light in the illegal area. Solo was orphaned by a drunk mom and a missing dad (who was part of this gang). Solo has secrets, one being he is "Gay" and another that he has fallen for a Cop which is punishable by death in the club. Solo also believes that cops had something to do with his Dad's disappearance from his life. Solo also has a mission to keep the schools in his territory clean of drugs because of his past loss of his baby sister due to an overdose. During a mission to find the latest drug dealer in the area, he runs across one of his one night stands that he wished was more than one night. Low and behold the one night stand is a cop who is forbidden by code of the club to befriend. So now not only does Solo have to deal with his attraction to the cop, he has to deal with the club finding out his secret and still clear the school of drugs.

Solo and Eric end up moving through the land minds together and realize that their lives are similar and they just need to realign what they want or deserve for the future. I think this will be a great beginning to a new series, I am hoping the next book will be about Rowdy and Joker??? Anyway, who does not love a good Carol Lynne book!!

This book really worked for me. Biker H meets cop H. Both are decent towards each other. I liked how sweet this was. Of course it required a massive suspension of disbelief as they both would have been killed by the mc in real life. Not sure if mc’s now are really progressive with biker/cop m/m pairings =p

This was an okay read. It's really more of a female erotic romance than an MM. You'd think, since it's about a biker, it would be a bit rough. It's not. That's why it didn't pass the believability test. I would put this in the cotton candy type reads.

It was an ok story, but I felt that it had more potential into being a great story. There was not enough harsh loving and too little action for a story about a motorcycle gang member and a police officer. It was just a good fluffy story.

Rosie reviews Grave Diggers MC: Solo by Carol Lynne.

http://www.mrsconditreadsbooks.com/?p...

REVIEW:
I was a little concerned when I asked to review this book, I don’t usually read books that have a lot of violence in them. I prefer love stories with happy endings, a little angsts and hot man sex. But I asked to read this book and review it so I could stretch my reading wings and when I commit to something. I do it!
I was very happy, this was a love story about two men, Sam “Solo” Braun and Eric “Blue” James. Throughout the book both Solo and Eric point out how different they are in every aspect of their lives but we come to learn how much they are alike .
When they first hooked up, Eric wasn’t looking for a one night hook up but he couldn’t resist the shoulder length hair, wicked brown eyes and the black widow spider tattoo. Eric just couldn’t resist, so after asking God for protection, Eric took a leap of faith and climbed on the back of Solo’s bike but insisted on wearing a helmet.
Solo was a self-proclaimed bad ass, he looked the part, he acted the part and he was a part of a bike gang, the Grave Diggers Motorcycle Club. If you would see “Solo” you would definitely peg him for a mean and nasty guy. But as they say “Looks can be deceiving” you get the first glimpse of that when Solo says to Eric when they first meet, “There could be a thousand men in here, and I’d still have seen you” now that is so sweet, a tiny break in Solo’s Façade.
Solo had a mission it was called “Keeping it clean” a project that Solo had come up with, Working to keep assholes from selling drugs. Eric also had a mission and to Solo’s disgust it was as a detective for the police department investigating a drug overdose. This common mission is what brought the two back together, after their one night hook up.
The story is about two men who want very badly to be different from each other but as time goes on they realize they want to be together. It’s a personal battle for both of them and compromises are made, and that’s what a love story is; a journey.
Carol Lynne was able to tell a story in a little under a 100 pages. 86 pages to be exact and as the reader I don’t feel like she left anything out, the characters were well developed ,the sex was hot! Hot! Hot! and the story was tied up well in the end. A lot of books I have read that are only a 100 pages or so, the ending is usually pretty abrupt. A lot is put in building the story at the beginning but then it’s a quick end. That’s why I usually don’t read books that are that short.
This was the first book I had read by this author and if this is an example of her books, I will just have to read the rest of her releases and that’s quite a commitment as her bio says she has written over one hundred of them. I am really hoping this book will be a part of a series, the Gravedigger Motorcycle Club hints to have some interesting characters.

Original Blog Post: http://headouttheoven.blogspot.com/20...

Carol Lynne is one of my guiltiest pleasures, especially her Campus Cravings series. Now, mind you, there are some books which are a miss for me, but I am such a sucker for her works and different plots so don't shoot me when I say: I totally loved this first installment to the Grave Diggers MC series.

First off: I loved that cover. I am not really one to have a tat on me or mine but seriously? I love looking at them when done very well and this cover is just drool worthy.

Second, I love cop stories and biker stories. That the author decided to merge the two means something is cooking here that may just be very different.

In Solo, we have a biker guy who falls seriously for a one-night stand he could not forget. Yes, this is a case of insta-love but true to his personality, he does not bother to connect with that perfect man and just goes through his life with his adoptive family of bikers. A skating-on-the-edge-of-crime bunch who are rough and tough. This biker club does a lot of things for the community like take pay for protection. You know? Gang stuff. There is one thing different though: they watch out and make sure that no bad drugs are going around their turf and if they find the violator? Think six feet under and no bodies. So imagine Solo's fears when he reconnects with that perfect guy and he turns up to be a cop? There is also the fact that the bikers are not so connected with gay men.

Eric had had a tough life growing up an orphan and treated like a ping-pong ball passed from one foster home to another. The only individual who took time out for him was a cop so when he grew up, he decided to make it his career choice. Thing is, he is getting a bit disappointed with the politics involved, and some are not so legal. He gets to seriously think over his career choice when he reconnects with his one-night-stand alpha biker. Solo is someone he just jelled with and when his feeling are reciprocated he is happy. But the BUT of both their situations is always upfront and uncomfortable. Maybe even deadly.

Solo is a romantic fiction that may read as fairytale-like. The language used is not realistic in the purest gang-lingo-sort-of-way and it just basically romanticizes reality. Thing is, this IS romantic fiction and it meant to make the readers feel good and just forget about reality for a while. Well, I did forget for a while and it was all so worth it. Yes, I am a sucker for Carol Lynne, hit or miss, I don't care. Looking forward to the next installment whoever it may focus on next. My bet is Rowdy. I think. Well, I hope so. heheheeee
