My father’s been controlling me for years, I won’t take it from my husband too. I want to hate Alexei and all he stands for, but the more I get to know him, the harder I fall. Alexei
It's supposed to be a business transaction, A marriage in exchange for intel on an enemy. I expect my wife to obey me, to follow orders. Instead, I get a firecracker who is determined to make this arrangement as difficult as possible. I have no interest in falling in love with Bianca, But before I know it, she's all I can think about. Suddenly I'm doubting everything I thought I knew about myself…
Sinful Oath is a captivating Russian mafia romance featuring an arranged marriage and a surprise pregnancy that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The twists and turns in this story will leave you breathless. This book is the first book in the Koslov Bratva Series, it promises a thrilling ride with no cheating and a guaranteed Happily Ever After!
So, I didn't hate it. I didn't not like it but I also didn't like like it either. 🤷🏻♀️
The first chapters were better than I expected. Pretty much grabbed me and had me interested. The MCs too.
Hell, I was really liking the heroine Bianca in those early chapters. So to the surprise of absolutely no one that feeling did not last once Bianca and Alexei began living together in wedded bliss.
*sigh* I once again expected too much from a book. I was so pleasantly surprised by how well written the opening chapters were and how the heroine was actually likeable (and *gasp* not a virgin) that I did not expect the turn of events that happened following their marriage.
As in, essentially diddly squat in regards to plot and relationship development. Oh, if I only expected an endless stream of them sexing it up then I wouldn't have been disappointed. And sure, some of those scenes were plenty hot. So I'm not hating on the sexual attraction the MCs shared. It's just that once they crossed that line it seemed to be all they did and not much else.
Yeah, yeah they were basically at home 70% of the book and that naturally led to many opportunities for sexytime. It grew tiresome after a while. Like, I got it. They had the hots for one another.
More to the point I wanted plot with my smutromance, ya know? For a mafia book there was a significant amount of mafia activity missing from the story. Sure, Alexei spoke about mafia related details throughout and with his brothers. And yes, they were sort of on lock down due to the threat of the big bad enemy of Alexei's. But it wasn't until about 70% in that we actually see Alexei doing mafia related tasks and capturing, beating and killing someone.
Because of so little development surrounding the actual mafia family and their day-to-day lives the mafia aspect to the story was pretty muted. Practically useless to the entire story tbh. It's like Bianca and Alexei existed in their own bubble in many ways with how their interactions were written.
Aside from that my biggest gripe about this book was the heroine Bianca. I literally don't know how she seemed so cool in the early chapters only to turn into that. Bianca devolved into a stubborn petulant toddler once her and Alexei began living together. And while I understood her need for space and time to adjust to such a change to her life she simply acted like a child the entire time. Not even in a cute bratty way either.
She was to put this a nicely as I can: a spoiled, shortsighted, selfish and too stupid to live dumbass.
And that, that I blame on the author. Bianca just kept pushing back against everything Alexei said or asked of her. She fought everytime he told her about a new safety measure he was taking with her and listing her limitations with her freedom. Bianca was very aware of the threat looming over them. Especially that she had an even bigger target on her back being married to him and her father's daughter. Did she care? noooo. Did she try to make this easier on Alexei? Absolutely not.
She acted like an annoying brat and acted out. Then she fought against his kindness and need to make her happy. And then his desire to push her to nurture her artistic skills by going to art classes. And then when their safety becomes even more immediate she loses her mind and throws an absolute fit over possibly losing her art classes when he tells her they need to essentially tighten their security.
And as if that wasn't bad enough, you have the addition of her bestie Zara. Now personally I didn't not like Zara but I didn't care about her either. I didn't care for her and Bianca's interactions because some of the time they didn't make any sense.
Frankly having Zara being capable of sneaking onto Alexei's property despite all the security measures and cameras was just absolutely absurd. It wasn't funny, and it made no sense how some average gal like Zara could sneak in on the back of the property through the forest and climb a tall ass fence with barbwire and bypass the cameras and guards. Sure 🙄
To make it worse was the unnecessary usage of Zara to make Bianca behave even more stupidly. No additional help needed there buddy.
Why? Because Bianca acted absolutely ridiculous with the help or to help Zara. Aka lying and creating scenes so she could escape the house when she was under lockdown for her own goddamn safety.
Especially with that entire setup so she could go to the OBGYN was absolutely ridiculous. I guess the simple thought of telling your husband you have to see a doctor was out of the question? Perhaps you had a yearly checkup you couldn't miss? No? That seemed awfully reasonable to me especially when he could have provided security. Instead we got some over the top dramatic scene with Bianca deceiving her brother-in-law, scaling the barbwire fence, nearly passing out after puking for days and still driving herself to the doctor. 😂😂😂
I personally thought Alexei's anger towards her was one hundred percent deserved. She didn't act rational at all and that's even without taking the threat to their lives looming over them into account. Like, I get it girl you were anxious to confirm your pregnancy was legit before you told your man but damn that was just stupid as hell.
Then there was the whole just got home from a three-day bang/makeup fest in a secret cabin only to lie and cause a scene once again to get out of the house. Only to escape her bodyguard in the hospital and take off on her own to save her bestie who was hiding from a guy in the club bathroom who I assume nearly assaulted her or just wouldn't take no for an answer. Thus allowing the bad guy to run their Uber off the road and kidnap them both. 😲 Womp, Womp, wompppp
I truly lost brain cells over the pure idiotic behavior of the heroine Bianca. I have no idea how it went down hill so fast for her because she seemed so cool in the beginning.
I mean, who doesn't worry or bother asking about retrieving your belongings from your own apartment when you're forced to move elsewhere? Then to use that lack of thought for the reason you didn't even consider that you didn't have your brith control pills, that they were at your apartment and so you hadn't been taking them the entire time you had been getting banged silly by your husband and filled with his baby batter everyday? 😆😭🤣
That truly astounded me tbh. I couldn't even be surprised at that point.
🤷🏻♀️ Oh well. I liked Alexei. I liked what we saw of his brothers. I think Bianca was a stupid cunt and she didn't deserve her HEA.
This was entertaining, although lacking on the actual mafia side of the story. And frankly Alexei was a little too soft for my taste. I wanted a little more grit or alphahole from him that just wasn't there. He was a bit too sweet to Bianca early on and it felt out of place considering their situation. He was far too understanding and forgiving of her dramatic and childish behavior. She didn't deserve that kindness with how she acted towards him tbh.
Ps: I was so over Alexei using a different Russian endearment every other paragraph for Bianca. Like dude just choose one. It's not that hard. It was a rotation of "sunshine", "little bird" and "pussycat" until he settled mostly on "my life" toward the end. It was exhausting.
This book is right up my alley - arranged marriage, surprise pregnancy, mafia. Bianca thinks she is organizing her cousins wedding - only to show up on the day to realize it’s her wedding, to the head of a powerful mafia family. Alexei is immediately attracted to Bianca, but wants to keep her at a distance, not wanting to lose another person he loves or have vulnerabilities. Very possessive, controlling relationship. Alpha male behaviours. It wasn’t my favourite for the chemistry, I felt something was missing. They never really solved anything, just focused on spicy times. It was just missing something for me.
Oh please tell me what did I just read? It was so bad I can't even... Bianca is so horrible, annoying, whiny and a terrible mafia princess! I have never read an FMC as horrible as her before! She made me hate every second I spent reading this book. I lasted until 60% of the book and after that moment I simply skimmed through the book just to find out what happened to the brothers. The book was very bad and I'm angry, because it had a good start, but then it all went to waste. I feel like too many things happened off page. I don't mind spice, but when every scene contains a spice moment that adds nothing to the plot, it becomes annoying and unnecessary. I hope the author returns to this story when she has more experience in writing and telling stories. I'd love to see what she does.
Not your typical Italian mafia princess. She claims her father is overprotective and her life was controlled. But instead, she had history of one night stands and flings, so no virgin and not a sheltered heroine. She became pregnant unexpectedly! Very reckless. Majority of the time she is annoying and behaves like a spoiled brat. I’m giving this book ⭐️⭐️ for Alexei & their hot scenes.
once the overly long sexy time descriptions passed and mafioso bratva violence started up this book became quite enjoyable. the bad guy gave superb bad guy vibes and I was a little scared. The goofy brothers were an added bonus. Bianca was sassy and Alexei was alternately tender sex god and alpha hole prison warden.
Read this in one evening. It hit my goals. Russian mafia man, arranged marriage, surprise baby, overprotective man, stubborn woman, and spice. That’s all I wanted to read for the evening. It isn’t a perfect story but it was entertaining and quick.
Oooooh, if all mafia romances were like this one, then I’d be listening to this trope more 😍. Even though there was some of the typical “men are the ones who rule” in this book (which is the whole reason I don’t like mafia romance usually), Alexei was actually so supportive of Bianca and her dreams, and he really showed her more respect and was often open to compromise with her ❤️. It was surprising yet exciting to see this in a mafia romance! And Alexei? Gah!! 🤭🫠. He was swoon worthy.
Also, James Cassidy’s voice (the male narrator) will DO things to ya 🔥.
After arriving to the wedding she’s spent months planning for her cousin, it turns out this is actually HER own wedding to the eldest son in one of the most influential families in the area. Not sure if I’d recommend this audiobook to anyone other than fans of young and dumb naive and juvenile FMCs who’s dumb enough to fuck up just about everything yet still not aware of her own part in which ever disaster she’s landed in. I’m utterly astonished she’s been able to keep her self out of trouble this far. She has the most beige personality and truly is an utter
Mafia arranged marriage with almost insta love? Nah, that's really not what I was looking for. Give me struggles, reluctance, depression and almost, but not quite, a non con. This? This was so sweet it was nauseating. I stopped reading with two chapters left, it was that boring and predictable. Writing wasn't bad though, I wish the plot idea was more believable.
I don't understand how this book is supposedly 4 stars.
For a Russian mafia book there was basically nothing going on. Poor grammar at times. Even spelt a characters name wrong at one point.
oh and a grown woman who has been on the pill for years didn't notice she hadn't taken it for weeks and was surprised to get knocked up after weeks of bangin? fuck off.
I’m a sucker for a good mafia romance, arranged marriage trope, enemies to lovers but this seemed rushed and to say in better words lackluster.
Before everyone gets upset I also did enjoy some parts of the book. The spice was there and very well written, I was giggling. But the plot with Alexies parents murderer was just meh…
Well I read the next books in the series ….. YES, I love reading and will always eat up any mafia romances. I just read a bunch that I set the standard pretty high.
hell no. i knew she was going to get pregnant so i don’t care about that. but sex isn’t doesn’t fix problems it just puts bandages on them so them not actually talking about their problems made me mad. he did nothing for her to even start to love him. all of a sudden they were saying ‘i love you’ and i was confused. i didn’t like either of the characters so yeah. i wouldn’t read this
3.25⭐️ Let’s just say if i would’ve read this book i would’ve dnfed it at 20% mark but in audiobook format it was good in-fact i caught myself blushing at few moments too but again a typical steamy mafia romance at the end For a one time audiobook experience i would recommend it

This book lacks a cohesive storyline and feels more focused on sex than character or plot development. The relationship between the main female character (MFC) and main male character (MMC) is inconsistent and poorly developed. Bianca's reactions to Alexei are contradictory—she's angry at him for forcing her into marriage but then willingly throws herself at him. She claims he can't buy her forgiveness, yet sleeps with him. She resents his controlling behavior but continues to have intimate moments with him. There’s little emotional buildup or meaningful connection between the characters before they jump into physical intimacy, making the relationship feel unrealistic and forced.
Alexei’s character also lacks consistency. At the wedding, he’s cocky and even writes her vows, but suddenly, with no clear transition, he’s sweet and thoughtful, creating an art studio for her. Then, just as quickly, he reverts to being overly controlling. His behavior swings between extremes, making it difficult to connect with him as a believable character.
Overall, the story felt cheap and unpolished. While there were some enjoyable moments—such as Alexei writing her vows and finding her at the OBGYN—these highlights weren’t enough to redeem the book. It had potential, but the lack of development and coherence left me disappointed.

The relationship building was extremely lacking in this one. It all seemed to happen 'off page' and you would only get a sentence or two referencing it but as a reader you are not a part of it. It was more like "We talked all night" but those moments weren't really part of the story which made the whole book lack any real character development. You don't really get to know the characters in this book in any real way. Which made me doubt they knew each other and then the whole romance just falls apart.
On top of that the world building was also very lacking. Yes I get it they are Mafia families but what do they actually do? Also Bianca is supposed to have been born and raised in a Mafia family so some of her actions just made no sense for someone that grew up in that world. Why would her dad not be able to protect her or himself for that matter? Some very big world building plot holes there for me.
Any book that includes the protagonist being so fucking stupid that they forget to take their damn birth control is an automatic 1 star. Also Alexei whos so anal and has to control everything he does doesn’t think to ask contraception? Fucking idiots. Don’t think I care enough for Zara to keep reading the series. Also the whole scene in the OBGYN’s office pissed me off! From a doctor’s perspective how was it okay that that an enraged man covered in blood was able to just storm in and demand info on a patient, and allowed to removed the patient who was clearly distressed? Makes no sense at all!!
This book was like The Kings of Italy series, only not well written. It was more erotica than plot. I only like mafia books that aren't super violent. This fit the bill, but not much happened. If there's such a thing as "cozy mafia," this is it. It was so cliche, I wouldn't be surprised if AI was used to help write it. I'm surprised it's sold as many copies as it has, but book girlies love duet narration (guilty as charged.) I never thought I knew enough about the Mafia to write a book about it, but there is a formula. Hot brooding mafia Dom is owed a favor/needs to unite two families-he's given an unwilling, smart-mouthed bride as payment/to solidify the families by her dad-he treats her like a queen and supports her schooling/hobbies while being overprotective-she acts like a brainless twit and defies her Dom by going off alone even though her life is in danger and then getting kidnapped by his rival-he and his hot brothers save her (hot brothers are needed for the rest of the series)-after the first part of the book being rife with sexual tension, they now screw like rabbits and live HEA popping out more mafiosos.

Sinful Oath is such a sweet, dramatic arranged-marriage romance — even if Bianca didn’t exactly get the memo until it was too late 😅. From the very beginning, you can see how insanely attractive he finds her. He sees the fire in her, the spark she tries so hard to hide, and instead of backing away, he falls for it. Hard. He has a soft spot for her from day one, and that tenderness carries through the entire story.
Bianca? Oh, Bianca. She’s whiney, defiant, emotional — but honestly, it suits her. She’s been protected and spoiled her whole life, raised in a bubble where she never had to question anything. So when she suddenly finds herself married off without knowing? Of course she lashes out. And let’s be honest… if she listened from the start, this book wouldn’t have been nearly as entertaining 🤣
Their dynamic is full of chemistry, tension, clashing personalities, and unexpected soft moments. It’s a love story built on patience, protection, and slowly earning trust — with plenty of spice to keep things interesting 😏🔥
A lovely mafia romance with heart, heat, and the perfect amount of drama. 🥰📚💛
I don’t normally like mafia books, but this was pretty good. It was more chill than some…still very much an alpha hole misogynist MMC telling the FMC what to do the whole time, but you know. This rating is mostly based on vibes, tbh. This had great spicy scenes, at least in the audiobook. Really enjoyed the duet narration.
(Amy) ok at first I thought the FMC gave up the resistance to this arranged marriage really quick, but then I was sucked into the story!! I love a good mafia romance, and this one does deliver lots of excitement. I listened to the audiobook and it was read in duet and wonderfully performed. I was riveted.
What a softie Alexei is!! He tries to come across as the mean guy...and he is to everyone apart from Bianca. I love his relationship with his brothers. I wanted to yell at Bianca on occasion, but overall a great read!.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wish the characters would have more an understanding that raw-can lead to problems lol. It wasn't bad, i zoned out alot, but finally locked in to finish it. That was a book for sure, but i did kinda like the ending.

33% Honestly forgot I was even reading this. I do remember getting bored and wanting to read something else. That was about two months ago. I’m not going to leave a rating since I don’t even remember what I read.
I needed a mafia fix and this did the trick. Forced marriage, they are totally attracted to each other, lots of sex, accidental pregnancy, kidnapping. I shall read the next one!
