I left my fated mate for dead in the forest. Now, undead, she returns to the castle and flips my world upside down.
Turned by a vampire coven that refuses human blood, she warns of a looming threat; another soul-stealing vampire coven is planning an attack.
My father, the king, wants her dead, but I'm torn between loyalty and longing.
A sham wedding could unite our forces, if only I can convince her.
But she's cold to her core and she’s hiding something.
As tensions rise, her angry reluctance turns to passion with a sudden embrace. When she lifts her lips to mine, our bodies remember the secrets we used to share.
With enemies at the gates, both my life and the throne is at stake.
If I can unseat the soul-stealing vampire king, I can secure peace for our people and my newfound heir.
We have three childhood friends in this story. Two of them become a bit closer and become lovers. This is the story of what can happen when tragedy strikes and the woman is taken away from them. Our story is very well written, with no complaints there at all. There is tragedy, death and so much emotion. The ending took me by surprise as well. I was not expecting that.
Lyrien died the day that Elara was attacked by a vampire. He still loves & misses her and he has tried to move on. But everything changes when Elara comes back to the castle. She is very much alive but different now. He knows that there is no hope for them but he has no choice but to say that she is his fated mate. Elara isn’t happy about this but she plays along. Can they find a way forward or will this be the last time that they are together? A good read
I thought the book was beautifully written. I story starts out with 3 friends, 2 of which become more than friends and tragic events separate them. They find each other again and have a second chance. The story is well written and the ending is not what I expected. Would recommend this book.
Loved how it showed Lyrian not to rush to judgment about vampires. He needed to remember the love they shared. Elara was a victim and was turned by force. This book was a quick read but worth. I got it and enjoyed it.
Aw what a satisfying quick read! Lyrien believes Elara, the love of his life, is dead. In a sense, she is, except she's not gone, she's a vampire. There's a bit of magic, spicy scenes, a secret baby, and a love to defy the odds.
