Supernatural secret agents, vampires, and veterinarians!

Drake Carlson is an agent for the Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation. He’s psychic and gets visions of alternate realities. Drake is tracking magical Mafiosi involved in paranormal crime. On a rare night out, he goes to an arcade and ends up in a Skee-Ball competition with Garrett Thompson, a cute veterinarian, and they really hit it off. More arcade dates and a visit to the Carnival of Mysteries lead to hot nights and a growing connection, and Drake begins to think he and Garrett could forge a forever relationship.

Then a mobster with a sick dog kidnaps Garrett, and a vampire henchman puts Garrett under his thrall. Drake is going to need all the help he can get—from the carnival, his own psychic mojo, and some paranormally skilled friends to catch the mobster, rescue Garrett—and, of course, save the dog—on the way to his happily-ever-after.

Midnight on the Midway is a fast-paced MM paranormal romance filled with supernatural suspense, found family, a brave veterinarian, vengeful vampires, sarcastic ghosts, midway magic, a fearless fed, hurt/comfort angst, love-conquers-all tension, and a very happy ending!

Part of the multi-author, shared-world Carnival of Mysteries series. Can be read as a stand-alone.

On a visit to the arcade, FSBI (Federal Supernatural Bureau of Investigation), Psychic, Drake Carlson meets Garrett, and they hit it off over playing several games. They trade phone numbers and talk and a little more, in the car. One night led to another. Someone without much respect for any law or law enforcement person, had sighted Garrett, which we knew would have catastrophic consequences.

I love Morgan Brice's books; I own most of them and have reread some more than once, but I had never read any of this series...so when it came up on Hoopla I thought, "why not"?

I did like the story as well as the characters, and I have to say that some parts were excellent. Maybe my mistake was in comparing this one to all the other Morgan Brice shining gems; "Witchbane", "Badlands", "Treasure Trail", "Fox Hollow"...all absolutely wonderful favorites, I just finished "Castle Magic" a book that will be absolutely treasured.
It's. a standalone with a story from most all of her other series. There are not enough words to describe it! So was it any wonder that I was SO surprised that this one didn’t quite "make the grade" for me. It was okay that the story was told in the third person with the viewpoints of Drake and Garrett alternating chapter by chapter. The banter between the two guys, and the idea of the ghostly investigation was inspired.

So, what was the problem, you ask? One thing was the actions of the two main characters. Drake and Garrett were said to be in their mid 30's, but they spent a great deal of the story in an arcade acting more like horny teen-agers than grown men trying to form a possible relationship. They even fantasized over what "could be" instead of spending better time dealing and working with, and letting the reader see, "what was right now"; they pretty much flew through the possibilities of their relationship before they had even started to actually explore it.

The second part of the story was much better. The investigation part of the story started to take off, with them working well together, and we were given several reasons for the "Carnival of Mysteries" to be involved instead of it just being a place to visit. I'm going to get the next book in the series and try again.

In need of a distraction FSBI Psychic - Drake Carlson (same as FBI with the addition of Supernatural) visits the local arcade. There, he met Garrett, and they hit it off over a range of games, ending the night exchanging numbers and a fumble in the car. One night of entertainment led to more. However, Garrett has caught the attention of someone less law-abiding, which could have catastrophic consequences.
I liked the story. I liked the characters, and some elements were superb. But the overall ensemble didn’t quite gel for me, and the emotional rollercoaster I was hoping for didn’t happen.
The story is told in the third person with alternating chapters from the viewpoints of Drake and Garrett. I appreciated that the many internal thoughts of the characters were highlighted in italics. Also, I enjoyed the workplace banter, and the ghostly aspect of the investigation was inspired.
Drake is an unsettled Fed, wondering if this latest posting is where he will find the potential for something more permanent. However, with the demise of a criminal kingpin, the crime community is vying for control, and Drake has plenty on his plate. Garrett has spent his life building up his veterinary practice and is ready for a relationship. He is a lovely man with an exceptional talent for understanding animals. Shout out here for Brian.
I get people embracing their inner child, and many people, of varying ages, play the slots in a pub – hell, Vegas is built on it, and there’s always a good reason to go to a carnival. However, the tale feels like it is in two halves. The first half is pretty much two men in their thirties acting like horny teenagers with a driving license hanging at the local arcade. They even fantasize over what could be, and to an extent, both men run the course of their potential relationship before they even get to the second date. The second part of the story was much more to my tastes. The investigation took off, Garrett was involved, adrenaline kicked in, and there was another reason for the carnival of mysteries to be involved instead of just being a place to visit.
The story is very sexually orientated, and while individual components were superb, the overall balance didn’t quite hit the mark.

Midnight on the Midway (Carnival of Mysteries, season 2)
By Morgan Brice (Gail Z. Martin)
Darkwind Press, 2024
Five stars

Because this detective/adventure romance takes place in a world with magic and supernatural creatures, the role played by the Carnival of Mysteries is presented with a specific kind of intensity. Once more, Morgan Brice’s story adds to the fascinating story of the Carnival and its denizens, including Ame Errante and Madame Persephone.

Drake Carlson is a federal investigator, but from the FBSI—Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation—a down-low, semi-secret branch of the feds. He’s on the trail of a home-grown drug cartel—but these drugs are aimed at the world of supernational creatures who need specialized medications as well as arcane potions that help them with their criminal activities.

On a quiet night, and at loose ends, Drake goes to a huge game arcade, where he meets a man his own age, with whom he spends a pleasant evening playing games and mildly flirting. It dawns on Drake that his lonely life needn’t be so lonely.

Garrett Thompson is a veterinarian—whose only supernormal gift is the ability to read the emotions and moods of the pets he cares for in his clinic. He’s devoted his whole life to building up this clinic in a small town not too far from Wheeling, West Virginia. His encounter with the handsome Drake Carlson reminds him that he needs to make room in his life for something other than other people’s pets.

And there you have it. Brice paints both of these thirty-something men with vivid detail and a strong sense of who they are and why we should care. Readers of this genre know what they want and the author manages to craft a really well-written, engaging story, with enough magic, mayhem, and anxiety to satisfy her readers.

Midnight On The Midway by Morgan Brice, at The beginning of the story I found it easy to follow along with and irreguardless of no explanations for the world they’re in nor the devices they use in the suspects they come up on I found most of it self-explanatory I did however want to DNF the book as I was unaware they had explicit sex scenes something I am not used to in the paranormal stories I enjoy but either way I skipped a few pages in powered on and I must say I was really starting to enjoy Drake story as well as the mystery and even like to Garrett and Kiersten but once again found myself with Drake and Garrett getting it on hot and heavy once again I powered on but when I got to the third unneeded sex scene I DNF the book. I have to be honest and say there is another authors paranormal crypto animal romance that I’ve read in an every book there is one sex scene but I’d pass it up and continue reading because most of the book is the story. I found they just had too much of a grown man acting like a hormonal teenager and I just was not down to read that. Oh I am not knocking those who like just that type of thing but I am unfortunately not one of them. When it comes to romance as I am gender fluid because love is love and I love love but not in gross detail. Some people like gross I do not. I did find the book easy to follow along with the characters were likable the mystery was intriguing but I just kept getting taken out the story by what I’ve already mentioned too much in this review. If not for that I would’ve finished it and probably loved it but that is just not my cup of tea. #HiddenJim’s, #MorganBryce, #Midnight OnTheMidway,#Blind reviewer,

I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Not my favourite romance of this multi-author series, but the psychic-special agent/FBSI action was entertaining, and sweet doggies Bailey and Brian were pretty adorable, so this installment in the Carnival of Mysteries series was still enjoyable for me!

Ame's supernaturals really stepped up in this book, and it was great to see them use their various talents to stave off otherworldly doom! And while i thought Drake (yes, i did giggle) and Garrett were hot when they got their sexy on, i felt like their relationship development could have used a bit more weight before the ilys came into play.

Overall this was cute and soft and super lightweight fun, and i had a great time with the supernatural FBI, especially Drake's team! Because Clark and Faye were really badass during the HRT op, when, together with Drake, they took down mobsters, witches and creepy vamps, to save Garrett and doggo (best bad boy) Brian!

I srsly looooove the vibe this series has!! I'm only a few books in, but i already have nostalgia and a real sense of how important and impactful Errante Ame’s Carnival of Mysteries is to and for this secret world of supernaturals, and the magic-adjacent, just trying to live their lives!

i can't wait to read whatever i get into next, because no matter where i end up in this series, i'm sure it would be a unique and fun and interesting ride that adds a welcomed bit of magic to my reading day and i really really love that!

Midnight On The Midway by Morgan Brice is a solid paranormal suspense story, but it didn't fully captivate me. As an avid M/M romance reader, I've noticed that overly spicy novels aren't quite fulfilling my craving for deeper romance these days, and this one leans heavily toward the steamy side.

The plot revolves around Drake Carlson, an agent for the Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation, and Garrett, a veterinarian with little romantic experience. Their chemistry feels authentic, and their journey together is engaging. One of the standout moments was how Garrett's awkwardness played off against Drake's more seasoned approach, adding layers to their dynamic. The paranormal elements, like the supernatural cases they tackle, are intriguing and help set a vivid atmosphere.

However, I felt that the storyline was often overshadowed by the steamy scenes, which sometimes pulled attention away from the suspense. While the heat level will appeal to some readers, I personally found it detracted from the plot.

Overall, it's a good read with well-written characters and an interesting world. If you enjoy a mix of paranormal intrigue and high heat, this novel will likely be a hit for you. However, if you're looking for a romance with more focus on plot and character development, you might find yourself wishing for a little less steam.

Supernatural secret agents, vampires, and veterinarians!

Midnight on the Midway is another thrilling, sexy and suspenseful story from Morgan Brice. It’s part of the multi-author shared world Carnival of Mysteries but can be read as a standalone. Morgan does love leaving little Easter eggs in her stories though, so eagle-eyed fans might catch references to characters from some of her other books.

Drake is on a case as an agent of the Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation when he and Garrett have a great meet-cute and sparks fly. Both of them have some psychic abilities but are cautious about revealing too much to each other. Garrett is a veterinarian and he can sometimes get vibes from his patients so he knows how they are feeling. Drake has dreams that let him see a future that may or may not come true.

This story has a bit more sexy time than I remember from other of her books and I loved how patient Drake was with the very inexperienced Garrett. Although Garrett is in his mid-thirties, school and getting his veterinary practice set up didn’t leave him much time to form relationships.

Midnight on the Midway takes readers on quite a journey and kept my attention from start to finish so much that I read it all in one go.

A copy of this book was provided to me at my request and my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Drake Carlson, an agent for the Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation, is in town tracking a supernatural criminal Mafiosi. Taking a break, he goes to an arcade where he meets Garrett Thompson, a veterinarian. The two really have a great time and decide to repeat their arcade fun, now as dates. Then Garrett’s work crosses Drake’s when he is kidnapped to care for an injured dog. He is then placed under thrall to a vampire. Drake will need the help of FBSI, friends, and that amazing carnival to save Garrett and the dog as well as uncover and stop the criminal activities.

One thing is for sure – we would all love to visit the Carnival of Mysteries. It sounds absolutely amazing. Drake and Garrett find it amazing as well as they take advantage of the Carnival to keep Garrett alive. The two men have a definite spark that grows into love. There is nonstop action and more than a few surprises to keep us glued to the pages. These two deserve a happily ever after but you will need to read this wonderful story to find out how they achieve that. Lots of action (many different types), bad guys finding their just desserts and true love is just what you need for your reading pleasure. Don’t miss this one.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my personal opinion.

Dr Doolittle and the Secret Agent

MIDNIGHT ON THE MIDWAY
CARNIVAL OF MYSTERIES
MORGAN BRICE
Garrett is a vet with an adorable dog Bailey, who has a gift with animals. Literally. He can feel what the animals need.
After a busy night he heads to a local arcade where he meets Drake, a FBSI Agent who's hunting a mafioso involved in paranormal crimes. He's psychic and gets visions of alternate realities.
The two end up playing arcade games all night, and exchange numbers.
They hit it off straight away and are exploring where it might take them.
Then Garrett is kidnapped by the sketchy mobster we meet near the beginning of the book who brings his dog in for help.
With the help of the Carnival, Drake sword out to rescue his lover, and of course, the dog.
Drake seeks advice from his work partners Clark and Faye, and Faye is the one who's psychic gifts pick up on Drake's love interest.
As with many of Brice's books, her worlds are interconnected and we get Easter eggs and other characters being referenced or popping up.
There's lots of danger, action, sweet moments and steamy as the men get to know each other and get closer.
There's lots of fun paranormal stuff, great characters and laughs amidst the threats.
Good fun.

Drake is a member of the Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation. He investigates paranormal and supernatural crimes and events. He is also a psychic. “Drake loved his job, hated the paperwork, and enjoyed the research”. Garrett is a veterinarian and also loves his job. He is able to read the emotions of his patients. On a rare night out he meets Drake and they quickly go from playing arcade games to hooking up in the back seat of Drake’s pickup truck.

The romance progressed quickly and was a bit unusual in that their dates were out of the ordinary. I really liked Garrett’s connection to his patients because of his abilities.

Bad guys abound in this book but Garrett and Drake are good matches for them. The allies Drake has lend their own strong talents to the side of good.

The Carnival of Mysteries series is truly enjoyable. Each author contributes their own spin to the mythos, building the carnivals backstory and adding depth to it’s different characters. I particularly like this author’s tying their other series to this one.

This is the second book in the Carnival of Mysteries series written by author Morgan Brice and it’s another great paranormal mystery romance.

We meet the MCs, Garrett, a local town vet who’s able to read the emotions of his patients and Drake, an FBSI agent following up on info relating to possible illegal drug manufacture for supernaturals. They meet by chance at a local arcade, enjoy their time together and agree to meet up again for a date at the local carnival - but is everything there as it seems?

Their developing attraction coincides with an uptick in Drake’s case and Garrett gets spooked by an emergency client’s intimidating owner.

There’s a lot of action for Drake and his team as his recon case develops into something more deadly, and Garrett’s involvement with his new client takes a suddenly perilous turn. Add in some mysterious carnival folk, an unexpected safe haven, a medium and a dog called Brian and you have a superb supernatural mystery with great romantic feels.

While it’s a spicy read I’m here for the awesome paranormal storyline and Morgan Brice’s interconnected UF world and I’m sure MM paranormal romance fans and UF fans alike will love this!

This book is part of the multi-author series Carnival of Mysteries series and each book can be enjoyed as a standalone. This is the story of Drake and Garrett. Drake is an agent of the Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation. He has the psychic ability to see the future in dreams that may or may not come true. Garrett is a veterinarian. He too has a bit of a psychic ability in that he can get feeling from the animals he treats and knows how they are reacting to problems and treatments. The two meet at an arcade and have fun together. Both are there to blow off steam and it is a first name only encounter. It was so much fun that they decide to meet up again. Garrett is inexperienced in relationships but he knows that Drake is only in town to solve a case. They both try to remember that the relationship can not go anywhere. Then the unthinkable happens and Garrett is kidnapped by the same people Drake is trying to take down. Now all bets are off. Both realize how important they are to each other. This is their story. The book is well written and fun to read. I liked how each danced around each other in the beginning. I really enjoyed this book.

Drake works for the FBSI - the FBI for crimes involving supernatural beings. He meets Garrett, a veterinarian. They fall in love and then Drake has to rescue Garrett from a black-market mafia.

The first half of this book is a romance. Drake is a this-is-how-things-are federal agent. He sounds like a police officer; likable but mildly dull. Garrett, on the other hand, is much more relatable. Their romance is sweet, and they go on cute dates - an arcade and a carnival.

I really liked the carnival date. That's why I was so surprised at how the novel takes such a serious turn when Garrett is kidnapped. Obviously, kidnappings are serious, but the tone of the novel changes completely. It's especially noticeable because the story alternates between Drake's and Garrett's points of view. The second half of the novel is definitely a nail-biter.

A note about the romance. There are a few sexual/sex scenes that are moderately descriptive.

Overall, this book is a sweet romance combined with criminals, a kidnapping, and the threat of humans and animals being seriously harmed. I went in expecting a lot about vampires and werewolves. Really though, it's more like romantic suspense.

3.75/5 I enjoyed returning to the Carnival of Mysteries and seeing old friends again. I liked both Garrett and Drake. I really enjoyed their dates and time spent together. The arcade and escape rooms were fun. It still felt a bit insta-love, but it did feel like they were falling for one another. I appreciated seeing a character who was a bit older and didn’t have a lot of experience, especially with a partner who was patient and supportive.

I found all the names of the bad guys a bit confusing (I think it might work better if you’ve read the author’s connected series); I eventually decided it didn’t really matter if I kept them straight or not, they were all bad guys, and that seemed to work fine for me.

I really liked Brian and the outcome there. It was nice to see how caring Garrett was of all the animals who need him. Drake is a more action-oriented protector, but it’s clear that they have that in common. The two of them are definitely better and happier together.

I received an ARC from GRR. This is my honest review.

“Midnight on the Midway” by Morgan Brice is part of the ‘Carnival of Mysteries’ collection and features FBSI agent Drake Carlson, who is hunting paranormal criminals, but meets a personable veterinarian, Garrett Thompson, who turns out to have his own connection to paranormal beings. Their developing relationship becomes imperiled by the very criminals Drake is pursuing, and they have to decide whether to trust in the advice of the mystical denizens met in the carnival.

This adult gay paranormal romance provides a delicious combination of fantasy and suspense, and it is a great addition to this fun collection of stories. I was drawn in immediately, and I really enjoyed getting a different perspective on the carnival. I have a soft spot for veterinarians, so it was particularly fun to see the twist on having shapeshifters as patients. As always, there are cameos by folks from the other exciting series written by this author, plus plenty of sizzling scenes as the guys learn to trust each other. This is a great addition to this collection of tales, and I look forward to reading many more.

I've really enjoyed pretty much all of the Carnival Of Mysteries books I've read so far. Morgan Brice's contribution to the second series of this multi author shared-world series is a very entertaining federal agent meets a sweetheart vet scenario. Drake, an agent for the FBSI…the S for supernatural is key here…is in a different town on a case when a chance encounter with Garrett leads to a super sweet romance with a good dose of insta blended with an exciting investigation almost being derailed when an undesirable character brings his injured dog into Garrett’s veterinary clinic. There's magic, mayhem, a fair bit of support from some of the people working in a certain travelling carnival and (of course) a hard won HEA. To be fair, this is probably a 4* read, but I'm giving extra for the short but bittersweet story arc of Brian the dog. I also love that, while Midnight On The Midway works perfectly well as a standalone, it fits seamlessly in the Carnival world and there are a bunch of references that fans of the author will love; not least that we've already met Drake as a side character in a different series. 4.5* rounded up.

An ARC was provided by GRR. This is my honest opinion.

Drake, a psychic investigator with the Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation, is on the trail of a dangerous shifter smuggling ring. Garrett, a compassionate veterinarian with an ability to sense his patients' emotions, leads a more grounded life—until a chance meeting with Drake turns his world upside down. What starts as a fun night at the arcade quickly escalates into a passionate romance intertwined with danger. Garrett’s life takes a sharp turn when he’s kidnapped by a mafia group tied to Drake's ongoing investigation. The story unfolds with tension, especially when Garrett seeks refuge at the mysterious Carnival of Mysteries, which becomes a sanctuary for him and Brian, a dog rescued during the chaos. The carnival's colorful characters and magical ambiance are a highlight, adding depth and intrigue to the narrative. The book skillfully balances suspense and romance, blending supernatural elements with a genuine emotional core.

"Fortune favors the bold"
Garrett is a veterinarian who may or may not understand animals. Drake is a special agent with the supernatural division of the FBI trying to stay alive. Both love games and long for a family. This is a rollercoaster of a story, it starts slow, but once it got going, I couldn't put it down. Mobster wars, paranormals, ghosts, secret agents, kidnappings and curses make for an exciting story, with the Carnival of Mysteries as a safe haven in the midst of the chaos. The world-building is excellent and I found the characters to be solid and very likable. The flow of the story felt natural, a nice mix of paranormal, action & suspense and romance. For those who love the Carnival of Mysteries as much as I do, the Carnival is not just an afterthought, it plays an essential role in the story. The story can be read on its own or somewhere in the first or second series.
I would love to read more in both the Carnival and the FBSI world. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed this book, it is a stand-alone in a connected Carnival world but it's not required to read any of the other books.

While this book does mention some connections to Morgan Brice's Witchbane series, you can easily read it without knowing the books or the background.

It is a bit insta-love as these two hit connect very fast but I like the way they are together. They are a bit older and know what they want. Their dates are actually quite cute and it makes it a bit more interesting. They definitely have chemistry. I could have done with a bit more background and interaction outside the clinic and Drake's colleagues but the mystery does not really allow it.

Garrett's abilities are also something I haven't seen a lot, he is the vet I would love to have for my pets. Brian's story is lovely, even if it is a bit heartbreaking.

I would love to see these two again in the author's interconnecting series.

Another winner in the Carnival of Mysteries series, as Brice has written an entry that ties in to her universe of witches and shifters.

Drake, an FBSI agent on assignment, meets veterinarian Garrett and the two go out on a few dates and find themselves drawn to one another. But Drake's case makes an unwanted intrusion on their personal lives, as a suspect that Drake is tracking kidnaps Garrett and forces him to treat his dog and also his employees, many of them shifters.

It's an interesting premise in that the events that catch Drake's interest are brought about in the last Witchbane book, where the head villain was dispatched. But when a supernatural crime boss is taken out of play what happens then? In this case, much as in real life, other criminals (supernatural, of course, this being a Brice book) move in and try to take over. And in a nice touch, Garrett's involvement ties in to events in the "Taste of Danger" book, where the heroes tackle a black market catering to drugs designed for shifter metabolisms. Garrett realizes that he can help safe standards for shifter drugs and potions with the help of Drake's organization.

There's also a decent amount of action, and once it gets going it doesn't let up till the end. I particularly liked the witch "generals" and the vampire shock troops- all quite a bit of fun.

And the carnival's appearance was quite a bit of fun, as well. It also served as a place of refuge for the two men as several of the carnival people were able to help the two men break a curse.

All in all, quite a bit of fun, with extra points for Brian, the best dog ever.

I'm really enjoying the Carnival of Mysteries series, I like the characters and the zany supernatural stories. This was a very good idea for a story, I loved the whole idea of a FBSI, whose agents deal with supernatural beings and their crimes. Drake is very much a hero, looking to settle down, and find love. He meets Garrett, a veterinarian, who loves animals, and comes across as a bit of an innocent. He's dragged into Drake's chaotic life. The story is full of magic, and lots of action. The baddies, are really bad, but not enough to keep Drake down. On the surface, the story was OK, but I did feel it was a little rushed. Drake and Garrett meet, there's a bit of instant love, sex, danger galore, and a dog called Brian. I would've loved more detail in the story, also I didn't like what happened to Brian (I have absolutely no idea why, it just didn't sit well with me 🤷).

Morgan Brice's story for the multiauthor Carnival of Mysteries is set in the author’s Fox Hollow/Witchbane universe. Drake Carlson is an agent for the Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigations. Garrett Thompson is a veterinarian. They meet at the Carnival, play Skeeball and start dating. A mobster from Drake's current case has Garrett kidnapped to treat his sick dog and his mobster minions.
The FBSI joins with the found family of the Carnival aid Drake. Lots of action, a bit of steam, lots of fun. Both Drake and Garrett are mentioned in Witchbane stories. I love how Ms Brice involves her multiauthor contributions (She did in her Subpar story as well) with her paranormal world. Great worldbuilding, lots of Carnival fun. A sweet relationship. And doggies.
A quick, fun read. Morgan Brice is always a pleasure.

Excellent addition to the series. Drake, is a Federal Bureau of Supernational Investigations agent. He is tracking a Mafioso. He visits an arcade and meets Garrett a Veteranarian. They connect emotionally and start a friend relationship. Their dates are fun and are anchored in their love of games and the Carnival. Garrett, is kidnapped by one of the Drake's perps and Drake goes to rescue him. Drake, knows he needs help so he calls on his fellow agents. The story, steps up and the adrenaline starts flowing. The flow is amazing and we go on a wild roller coaster ride as the rescue adventure turns into more of a mystery and lots of action. Great flow, fantastic support group of found family and friends. Excellent characters, well done! I look forward to binge reading the entire series again. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was my first story from the Carnival of Mysteries world, but the previous books are now on my TBR list! I loved both Drake, the psychic federal agent for supernatural crimes, and Garrett, the vet who really understood his patients' feelings These two were well matched in their hopes for the future, and they were very sexy together. I loved their flirting and fast-growing bond.
The carnival and its people made an already mysterious world even more magical. I definitely need to learn more about them. I also appreciated Drake's friends/coworkers, who were always on his side.
Drake was introduced in a connected series I absolutely love, so it was great to get to know him better. I enjoyed this book and hope to revisit Drake and Garrett in other stories down the road. Hopefully, the author will at least provide a glimpse now and then!

I love the world all these authors have created around our favorite magical Carnival. Each book is a standalone but our Carnival always makes an appearance. In this case it's there for Drake, our FBSI agent for all things paranormal, and our sweet vet, Garrett. Our MC's meet over arcade games, start dating, visiting said carnival, talking to everyone's favorite psychic, smexy times ensue. Drake is in the middle of an ongoing drug, shifter smuggling investigation while Garrett is taking care of all the good dogs (and cats). Garrett finds himself in the middle of Drake's investigation when he is kidnapped by a mafiosi, finding out all those things that go bump in the night are real. I love it. Errante and the Carnival becomes a sanctuary for Garrett and Brian (love his story!). There's a lot going with the investigation, a bit confusing but resolved satisfactorily. How Garret and Drake's worlds entwine at the end with a shout out to our favorite little shifter community in New York, love it!

This is a great addition to the Carnival of mysteries multi author series which can be read as a standalone but if you have read this author’s previous books you might recognise some of the characters names, Drake and Garrett meet while at an arcade one night and hit off and many more dates and outings follow and things get steamy but although Garrett is an older character he is quite inexperienced and it was good to see how patient Drake was with him, when Garrett is kidnapped Drake will do everything in his power to rescue him including getting help from the carnival and Garrett and the dog get rescued. This story is filled with action, mystery and magic and kept my attention from the beginning to the end. Great read.

This is the first book I’ve read in the Carnival of Mysteries series and I definitely enjoyed it. It’s a nice blend of romance and the supernatural. Drake and Garrett meet at an arcade and both sense that they could have a future together. Garrett is a vet who is able to read the emotions of his patients. Drake is an agent with the FBSI. When Garrett is kidnapped for his vet skills, Drake and his team members develop a plan to rescue him. They also rescue Brian (who I loved) the dog/shifter that Garrett treats for a stab wound. The Carnival and its magical members protect Garrett and Brian while Drake takes down the bad guys. This book makes me want to delve further into this series.

This was my second book from the Carnival of Mysteries series and again I was not disappointed. They are all standalone interconnecting stories that revolve around Errante Ame’s Carnival of Mysteries

Drake  is an FBI agent who hunts the supernatural
Garrett the local vet, who has a little of the supernatural, captures Drake's attention.
Things between them progress pretty quickly and they both begin to see a future together.
However, Drake's job isn't the safest and when Garrett is kidnapped he calls in reinforcements
He isn't losing the love of his life

This was a high-heat, cute-as-sin couple (Garrett was such a sweetie), MM romantic suspense that was packed with action, humor, suspense, lots of smexy, mystery, and of course a HEA

Midnight on the Midway - Corrigible Together

‘…instead of being impatient with Garrett’s inexperience, Drake looked for ways to pleasure them both without pressure, minding Garrett’s boundaries. Garrett never realized respect was so sexy.’

I have read several books in the Carnival of Mysteries multi-author series and enjoyed Morgan Brice’s contribution.

Drake is a tough cop, dealing with the supernatural, while Garrett is a veterinarian who has a gift for understanding his animal patients. An emergency brings their two worlds together and while each is working on their own adventure, they are able to bond and fall for each other, hard.

Loved how the carnival helped these two and wish there was more!
