Letting him go was the hardest thing she’d ever done…until he returns, and letting him back in proves even harder.

Elle Marshal has spent most of her life pining for the same boy. A boy she’s known since she was eight. A boy with beautiful blue eyes who’s never been interested in anything more than friendship. For years he’s been away, and she’s been able to convince herself that she can live without him—until Jace returns. And every emotion she’s spent a decade and a half denying comes crashing back with a single look. All throughout high school, she watched him date everyone but her, and while she’s no longer that girl, deep down, a small part of her still doubts she’ll ever be enough for the boy she’s loved forever.

Jace Walker is the youngest of six siblings, including four military hero brothers. Following in their footsteps was a rite of passage, but leaving the small town of Misty Peak also meant leaving his best friend. A woman he’s always wanted but never allowed himself to have. Not when he had so much to prove, when Elle deserved someone better…and when he has a habit of losing people he loves. But he’s older now. Wiser. And when he realizes he can’t deny what’s between them any longer, Jace will do whatever it takes to have her.

Getting Elle to trust he’s a safe bet proves harder than Jace thought. And when his past misfortune of losing those closest to him threatens his present—including his happiness with Elle—he’ll have to speed up his timeline if he wants to keep them both safe long enough to have a future.

Second chance, friends to lovers romance with a bit of an action/military angle. Jace and Elle were best friends growing up, inseparable. Except Elle was always in love with Jace, and he was always with someone else. Once he leaves to join the military, they spend 15 years apart and grow apart. Determined to forget him and move on, Elle decides to avoid him once he moves back to town. But charming, stubborn Jace won’t let that fly. But what if Jace always felt more than friendship? And with ghosts from both of their pasts bringing new dangers to them both, will they survive to see their chemistry develop?

Reckless Faith is book 4 in Nyssa Kathryn's Reckless series. Ella Marshal loves working at her coffee shop at the Information Centre in Misty Peak. She misses only her childhood friend, Jace Walker, who left Misty Peak to join the Air Force. Unbeknown to her, Jace Walker is back in town and turns Ella's life upside down. However, when someone targets Ella, Jace steps up to protect her. Will Ella and Jace finally release their love, or will one die? The readers of Reckless Faith will continue to follow Ella Marshall and Jace Walker to discover what happens.

Reckless Faith is a fantastic romantic suspense and an excellent addition to Nyssa Kathryn's Reckless series. Nyssa Kathryn does a tremendous job of highlighting some of the social issues that affect children during their teenage years. I enjoy Nyssa Kathryn's writing style, which always ensures that I engage with her stories and characters from her first page, and Reckless Faith did not disappoint. Nyssa Kathryn took me on an adventure with her characters, ensuring I stayed glued to my chair until the end. I love the way she always gives a little hint in the last chapter about what is coming next. I love Nyssa Kathryn's portrayal of her characters and the way they intertwine with each other. Reckless Faith is well-written and researched. I like Nyssa Kathryn's description of the settings of Reckless Faith, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.

I am thankful to the Author for my ARC copy of Reckless Faith in exchange for an honest review. I recommend this book to all readers.

It's a decent read and Nyssa Kathryn's writing is as good as ever but damn. Elle should have just broken up with Jace and never given him even an iota of a chance.

There was literally no romance??? Only an insensitive man-child who was given an excuse due to misplaced survivor's guilt– which wasn't even elaborated upon; and honestly an FMC who was more of a sidekick in her own story than anything else.

There was no grovel? No actual apology? This guy dated a new girl every week cause he didn't want to taint Elle with his bad luck and then ghosts his supposed bff for 15 years. And when she confronts him about that along with her weight issues, his treatment and the bullying she experienced to explain why she doesn't want to date him– he cracks a joke and metaphorically pats the head of the little unintelligent female who doesn't even know her mind.

I love Nyssa Kathryn and I will keep on reading her books but ugh this one was shit character development and storyline

This was not a perfect book by any means, but it was still such a good time. The book was on the shorter side, which works well for the romantic suspense genre imo and it actually made me enjoy the story a lot more. Nothing was drawn out and it was fast paced and straight to the point.

I really liked the FMC Elle because she was not a doormat. She stands up for herself , even against Jace. I did want a bit more grovelling from Jace though. His reason for not staying in touch with Elle was also a bit weak and could have been flesh out more. He did some things that were red flags as well, but I still really enjoyed the dynamic between him and Elle. The back and forth and the angst just worked for me.

And so, this was one of my favourites of the series so far and I’m excited to see the last Walker brother get his HEA.

When lifelong friends become distance acquaintances it takes some serious persuasion to shift to lovers. Elle was leary and who could blame her. Jace was kind of an asshat when he cut her out of his life.

I enjoyed this story but would have liked a bit more grovel on Jace’s part. He did pretty much abandon Elle. I also enjoy the mysteries that run throughout this series.

It’s like love in a small town with your mix of murder and mayhem.

A great addition to the Reckless series, each one is getting better. It is time for Jace’s story, and how it intersects with Ella’s. They were best friends as children, but he left to join the Air Force. But he has returned, creating chaos in Ella’s life. Between her deeply buried feelings for him returning and someone targeting her, her quiet life has been upended. Jace also has feelings for Ella but wants to act on them, not bury them.

They need to work out the hurt caused by past events, and figure out what is going on now. They also need to work through emotional scars, and grow to love themselves as well as the other. Insecurities and fears can ruin this relationship before it starts.

We have one brother left, and my expectations are high; this series has met all of them so far.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

You guys! I took a trip back to Misty Peak!!! I gotta say, I think this one might be my favorite one of the four! I love 𝙽𝚢𝚜𝚜𝚊 𝙺𝚊𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚢𝚗'𝚜 story telling talent and the characters she chisels always steal my heart.

Jace & Elle are beautiful characters! They were childhood friends until Jace joined the military. Now he's back, Elle wants nothing to do with him, and all he wants is to let her know how he truly feels, how it's always been her since they were kids. But, sometimes life throws twists, turns and crazy at you. Sometimes, all you can rely on is a little bit of faith to get to where your heart is.

I loved the way 𝙽𝚢𝚜𝚜𝚊 𝙺𝚊𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚢𝚗 cranked up the angst with this one. She blends with a touch of suspense, throws in all our favorite past characters, adds the slow burn, and turns us out another addictive installment in the 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬.

𝐽𝑎𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝐶𝑙𝑎𝑟𝑘𝑒 & 𝐴𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝐶𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑠.....oh how these two always steal my soul when they narrate these stories together. Their voices fill with all the emotions, capturing the very essence of the love, devotion, heartache and banter that is the characters of this story. Truly two of my favorites! They did a phenomenal job, once again!

If you've not listened to, or read this one, or any one of 𝙽𝚢𝚜𝚜𝚊 𝙺𝚊𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚢𝚗'𝚜 books, stop right now and rectify that. She will envelope you with small town feels, a devoted family, amazing chemistry and simply put: all 👏🏼the 👏🏼feels. Another keeper in my book and I can't wait for another beautifully chiseled story from 𝙽𝚢𝚜𝚜𝚊 𝙺𝚊𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚢𝚗!

After a mission gone bad Jace is discharged from the military and returns to his home town. While he has scars and demons he brings home with him he is excited to be near his family again and most of all his best friend Elle but it’s been 15 years and as far as Elle is concerned they are ex-best friends. Jace is determined to repair their friendship and the more time he spends around Elle the more he is thinking about them being more. Unfortunately danger is lurking making their friendship/relationship issues only one of many hurdles on the way to their happily ever after. Even with his own issues and the outside dangers pulling his attention once Jace decided he wanted Elle nothing was going to stop him. As for Elle, I related to her and her insecurities so much which honestly just pulled me into the story even more!
This book was pretty fast paced but it didn’t feel rushed which is sometimes a hard combination to achieve but Nyssa did it perfectly. I can’t wait to see what is to come in Misty Peak!

I swear, this series just cannot let me down. Every brother exceeds my expectations and hopes, and I raise them each time! Elle and Jace are just the latest “I had high hopes and you blew them out of the water” couple for me, but they’re not the last. I’m pretty sure our final brother will be the one to leave them all tied for second best.

Elle and Jace have a complicated history. Best friends, unrequited love, broken bonds. All of it means that Elle wants to steer clear, but those same things mean that Jace can’t stay away. He never admitted his feelings before because he was sure he was unworthy, but he’s back. He’s grown a lot. And he’s not about to live without Elle by his side and in his bed. But old hurt still hit hard, so he’s got to communicate. Open up and admit every last worry and doubt. Then prove that he really means what he’s saying now.

And trust me, Jace delivers. So much. Even with the danger coming ever closer, he’s all in with Elle. Even thinking that maybe she’s better off away from him, he refuses to let those doubts rule his actions. So when the dangers (yeah, plural, and you’re not quite expecting one of them!) meet up to cause havoc, he and Elle save themselves and each other at the same time.

So now all brothers but one are happily living with their forever loves. Which means Lock has quite the story to tell. Because he’s back. He’s not leaving. And he’s not giving up this time around. I can’t wait for it!

I love how this series of books is written. This is Jace and Elle's story and is full of all that you would expect from a book by Nyssa. Jace and Elle's history goes back to their school days as best friends but wanting more. When Jace goes to join the military her heart breaks. Back in Misty Peak Jace wonders if he will ever be good enough for Elle but he wants to try and win her affections but it won't be easy. With her own insecurities Elle fears that Jace will break her heart again. Trouble looms on the horizon with strange phone calls, someone they knew at school causing problems and a strange man in town who seems to be interested in Elle and not in a good way. Jam-packed with suspense, action and drama, this book has it all and you won't be able to put it down. I wish I could give this 10 stars. I can't wait to read about Lock and Callie.

If there’s one book that can keep you up all night with a racing heart and a grin you can’t shake, it’s this story of Jace and Elle. This romantic suspense novel's journey from childhood friends to lovers is beautiful and bittersweet, layered with danger, longing, and undeniable chemistry.
Jace and Elle have a bond forged through years of friendship and shared memories, but as adults, they grow apart. Life has brought them back together and they find themselves fighting the same feelings for each other they ran away from. Both characters feel incredibly real, each with vulnerabilities and strengths that make their love story all the more compelling.
What made me fall in love with this book, though, was the suspense element woven so seamlessly into their romance. Just when you think you can catch your breath, the plot twists, keeping you on edge and rooting for them to make it out together. The tension brings them closer, and the stakes remind you just how much they have to lose.
This is a must-read for fans of the childhood-to-lovers trope who crave heart-stopping romance and edge-of-your-seat suspense. The emotional depth of Jace and Elle’s relationship and the thrilling plot make this book impossible to put down. It’s a beautifully crafted story that lingers long after the last page.

We've been getting little glimpses of Elle and Jace in the previous books, and their book is finally here! I really appreciated how Elle made Jace work for her forgiveness. She made it clear how deeply he had hurt her by leaving, and Jace had to put in significant effort to win her back. I also understood Elle's insecurities; it's relatable to feel uncertain when someone you've known for so long suddenly shows interest after not doing so before. It took Jace a while to regain Elle's trust, as she was afraid he would leave her again. It also didn't help that Casper was playing into her insecurities, adding to her doubts. Casper was such a jerk, I wanted to throttle him whenever his name would pop up in the book.

I loved the suspense in this book— it definitely delivered! I always try to guess who the bad guy is, but I never seem to get it right. I was rooting for Elle and Jace throughout the story and I enjoyed seeing the couples from previous books make appearances or be mentioned as well.

Next up is Locke's story, and I can already tell it's going to be so GOOD!! I'm guessing second chance will be one of the tropes, which is my favorite!

We’re back in Misty Peak for another brother to get hit with the love bug. Jace Walker has come home to finally claim the woman he left. It’s not an easy road to get to a HEA with some danger and hurt standing in the way. Elli has had her heart broken and is not eager for a repeat. This was another fantastic adventure with a beautiful ending. I can’t wait to read about Lock and Callie.

Jase treats Elle so bad throughout their ‘friendship’ then ignores her for years!!!

It’s really hard to get past Jase feeling so sorry for himself all the way through the friggin book. His dad left him,(He died.) his mother left him, (She died.) one of his friends died so it was his fault, a team mate died again it’s his fault. So he treats his best friend like s*it because of people leaving him!! I just couldn’t get past how he treats her. The rest of the book is okay, with a silly plot of people trying to hurt Elle for stupid reasons. The danger never really comes to anything though.

Elle and Jase have been ‘friends’ for years. The book starts when they are seventeen and about to graduate from school. Jase encourages Elle to go to a party with him, then as soon as they get there he goes off with the prettiest girls in the school!! 😡😡😡 So Jase knows Elle doesn’t like parties, he knows she has feelings for him but still makes her go to parties with him!! He’s a d*ck!! When Jase leaves for the air force he stays in touch with Elle at first but then stops. So for OVER TEN YEARS HE IGNORES HER!! Then he comes home for good and decides he wants her as his friend again, then he wants her as his. Elle at first is horrified but he never apologises to her. Just makes a load of 💩 up about how he felt she was better than he was. SERIOUSLY??

Eventually they get together and everything is great, except that I still hated Jase, and Elle is a doormat!!

I really liked Jace and Elle's story, it was sweet, and I loved that they were friends in high school. I also love the fact that Jace has groveling to do! He left her and didn't continue their friendship. He basically went radio silent. But for reasons Elle didn't understand. Jace is back and he will do anything to be her "friend" again. But we all know.... ha.

Jace and Elle’s book was unputdownable.

Welcome back to Misty Peak, and the fourth book in Author Nyssa Kathryn’s RECKLESS series about a family of military brothers who come home and find love. Each stands alone, but seriously, I can only urge you to do yourself a favour and start at the beginning. Even better, if you loooooove military romantic suspense’s, start in on earlier series, especially as these brothers were mentioned in a previous series where we saw their sister Nylah find love with an ex-military man in LIAM : Book 8 in THE BLUE HALO series. I’ve read everything Ms Kathryn has written and I have loved each and every one of them. Nothing feels repetitive or unvaried and the only thing guaranteed is her winning writing formula!

Elle and Jace had grown up with such a close friendship that one was rarely seen without the other, but my heart broke for the teenage Elle as she watched the young man she’d grown to really love date girls who were her polar opposite. Neither made a move because each considered their friendship too valuable to lose, and when Jace left for the military, their friendship was eventually lost anyway. Ms Kathryn infuses so much emotion and love for her characters into their story, and in this five word quote from a small note given by Elle to Jace when he left town all those years ago, she brilliantly shows her gift of deep and profound writing ...

“You’re too loved to lose.”

Elle has been a character throughout this Reckless series and seeing her come to light in RECKLESS FAITH has been an absolute pleasure. She’d grown through heartache and the loss of her best friend, and found her place in Misty Peak. I just loved her resilience and take-no-crap-from-Jace attitude, and her bravery in negotiating her journey through this book. He might’ve finally decided he was back for the girl he’d left behind, but it’d been a long time and Elle wasn’t going to just let Jace think everything was just roses because he told her it was.

From his POV, and this is why hearing from both characters is absolutely my favourite romance format, Jace didn’t realise the effect that his actions had on Elle. He hadn’t stayed away from home for all of the years he was in the Air Force, but when he’d been back, he’d avoided her and when this was when I realised just how much of a heartbreak she had suffered. Now, her putting obstacles in his way made more sense and I was absolutely stoked to see her stand her ground.

Of course, a Nyssa Kathryn authored book will never be without that element of suspense and she delivered. Some readers might tout that they figured it out, and to some extent I did, but there were still some surprises to be had along with some hold-your-breath moments. I loved everything about Elle and Jace’s book. In seeing the rest of the family be there to support them, Ms Kathryn really added a depth that made RECKLESS FALLS an unputdownable read.

Annnnnnnnnd, with the last paragraph of RECKLESS FAITH, I finished it in tears and with chills of anticipation for Ms Kathryn’s next release.

All up though, Ex-Military-heroes + Hot Alphas + Suspense and some pretty cool leading ladies = one hell of an epic 4.5-Star ride. It’s a great read!

I started reading the book as soon as I had finished reading the third book! This book had just released and I was really excited about who the main characters were going to be! After reading, I can say that I really enjoyed this book! The plot developed at the perfect pace and it kept me intrigued and wanting to read on and find out what was going to happen next! I had a hard time putting it down as well! There was a lot of romance in the plot and I loved that it was a second chance romance! The romance allowed for a lot of sexual tension and some steamy scenes between the main characters! There was also a lot of action and suspense, which added to the plot and made me enjoy it more! I loved that it developed as the plot did as well and lead up to a big scene! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Elle was the main female character, and in this book she worked in a café and she enjoyed her job! I really liked Elle and she was easy for me to connect with and was lovely! She also had a good support network around her that was there for her and supported her! Jace was the main male character and love interest of Elle! Jace had returned to his hometown in this book and was reunited with Elle! Jace had experienced a loss whilst he was in the military and it had a big impact on him! He was also very protective of Elle and it was easy to see how much he had always loved her! This book was written from both Elle and Jace’s point of views! I was obviously expecting it to be because the other books were written from dual point of view and the synopsis gives the impression that it’s going to be! I loved that it was because it helped me connect more with both characters and see that their feelings for each other had never disappeared after years apart! It allowed for more things to happen in the plot as well, which helped as Elle and Jace did go through some situations by themselves and they didn’t spend every second of the plot together! I now can’t wait to read the next book in this series! I know that it releases in January, which isn’t long of a wait at all! I’ll definitely be anticipating its release and reading it as soon as it does! I’m really looking forward to who the main characters are going to be and I can't wait to learn more about them! Like the other covers for the other books, this one is absolutely stunning and I love it a lot! It would draw me to the book if I didn't already know of the series and the cover models are the perfect Elle and Jace!

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧Enthralling & Heartfelt

Reckless Faith
Reckless Series, Book 4
By: Nyssa Kathryn
Narrated by: Avery Caris, Jason Clarke

I am loving Nyssa Kathryn’s “Reckless” series, a series of novels that are set in the small town of Misty Peak, with each book featuring a different Walker brother and their prospective love interest. Jace Walker returns to Misty Peak after serving the country for fifteen years, and he wants to make things right with Elle “Tink” Marshal, his closest friend growing up, one he fell out of touch with. Elle knew Jace wanted out of Misty Peak, wanted bigger-and-better things, but than did not stop the feelings she had for him, and how she wanted him to be more than friends, something she never shared with him. Jace felt he was not good enough for her and he needed to become something more, and he realized life was too short to not go after what he always wanted, Elle. It was great to watch these two rekindle their friendship and then see it morph into something more. But trouble is brewing in Misty Peak, for Elle and/or Jace, did that trouble follow Jace there, or was it something else from one of their pasts? I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with drama, a touch of angst, some mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. As always, the writing, plot and world building are incredible, as are the character growth and development. Nyssa Kathryn, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Avery Caris and Jason Clarke are superbly talented voice artists and they continue to do an amazing job voicing and humanizing these characters, and their portrayal of each is spot on. Caris is a natural in her role as Elle, grasping every aspect of her personality, and Clarke is just as fabulous as Jace, showcasing all traits of his personality as well. Both were just as amazing in the roles of the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

This Reckless series… I swear it can’t get better, and yet it does. Every. Freaking. Time! Book four focuses on Jace and Elle, and I think they just might be my favorite couple yet (with Eastern and Sadie being a very close second). This couple basically grew up together as best friends, neither of them realizing they each wanted more but felt unworthy of the other. I mean, who doesn’t love a good friends-to-lovers story? And this one most definitely qualifies! After fifteen years away in the military, when Jace comes home for good, he’s finally ready to take a leap of faith with Elle, despite some deep-seated trauma that makes him feel as if he’s destined to lose everyone he cares about. But Elle is not making it easy as she has her own issues of abandonment and deeply-rooted low self esteem that make it hard for her to risk her heart with him. And on top of that, they may not have much time to get it right as there are outside threats to not only their happiness, but their very lives. This story is non-stop right from the beginning and really never slows down, in terms of physical action or emotional upheaval. I was immediately hooked and stayed that way to the very last page. These characters (both main and secondary from the previous books) are unbelievably compelling and nuanced, and you truly feel as if you know them. Nyssa Kathryn’s characters have a way of embedding themselves in your heart. I can’t wait for the next book, which will unfortunately be the last in the series. And this is one series I will definitely miss!

The duet-style narration for this title is provided by the fabulous duo of Avery Caris and Jason Clarke. Avery Caris brings a sensitivity and emotional depth to the character of Elle that is nothing short of captivating. And Jason Clarke’s famous baritone is perfect for Jace, delivering an impassioned performance that perfectly reflects this character’s strength as well as his conflicted emotions and vulnerability. The superb narration coupled with the riveting words of Nyssa Kathryn elevates this already incredible story to the level of truly outstanding.

5 Freaking Stars!

What a wild freaking ride! I swear, I say it in every single post, but I LOVE Nyssa Kathryn's books. Jace and Elle were precious.

Jace and Elle were childhood best friends. Jace went off to the air force and they both lost touch with each other. 15 years later, and Jace is back in town and Elle doesn't want anything to do with him. She loved him and he deserted her, or so she thinks. Jace is back in town and all he wants to do is be with Elle, he has missed her from all those years apart. and he realizes that she is the one for him. But as with all NK books, forces are trying to keep them apart.

I loved Elle, I also loved how she made Jace work for her "friendship" again. He really did hurt her, and she let him know it. I don't think Jace realized how much he hurt Elle when he left and then stopped contacting her.

I loved the slow build of their relationship and the memories they spoke of and how they fell back together and the regret Jace had of waiting so long to be with Elle. I understand wanting to be a better man for the girl you love, but TELL HER THAT BEFORE YOU DROP OFF THE FACE OF THE PLANET! hahaha. high school boys are dumb!

Now, freaking Casper, what a jerk. Everything he was saying about Elle, it just made my blood boil. The way it made Elle feel, I just cried for her, because I know exactly how that feels. And to be in love with your best friend, but to see them date everyone around you and not you. yeah that stings for sure.

The twists and turns in this story are so good. I enjoy these books so much, there is never a dull moment for anyone and that's what makes these stories so entertaining, and your always rooting for the main MC's.

I can't wait for Locke's story, I know it's going to be a good one!

Thank you Blue Nose Audio and Nyssa Kathryn for the advanced listening copy, all my opinions are my own.

Elle and Jace we finally get their story. The story of two childhood best friends that have been separated for years, and have finally been reunited. Elle that girl has such a feisty personality but I also think it’s to cover up things that she’s trying to hide. It’s almost like a coping mechanism but I love that we get to see more of her past, to see what makes her tick. More importantly, we finally get to see the backstory and the relationship she has with Jace. They were thick as thieves growing up, and when they were separated it seems like it was hard on both of them in different ways. So now all these years later, seeing them reunited, it was so interesting watching them try to get that friendship back. Try to learning how to be around each other again. Elle is trying to trust her instincts. Jace has always been the crazy good looking wild adventurer, but has always had a soft spot for Elle. And when he left, I think it was one of the hardest things he ever had to do so now coming back he hast to earn her trust again. Watching him navigate that whole idea of regaining her trust and proving to her that he’s not gonna leave was great to see. I love seeing them together it’s just they fall right back in lockstep the banter, the one-liners they needle each other in the best way. You can see, as does everyone around them that is close to them, that they are meant to be together it just took them a hell of a long time to realize. Watching them fall in love and admit their feelings for each other was a chefs kiss. They have such a beautiful, love story it’s incredible. It wasn’t without its challenges and curveballs, but it was worth it in the end they were meant to be together.

Nyssa Kathryn skillfully crafts relatable characters in her friends-to-lovers romance, infused with a compelling touch of revenge. I was immediately drawn into Elle and Jace’s story, particularly connecting with Elle, who embodies the "unseen" and "not good enough" sentiments from her school days—insecurities that linger into her adult life. Jace, on the other hand, dated everyone but Elle in high school before leaving for the military, following in his family's footsteps, and cutting ties with his best friend.
Fast forward 15 years, and Jace returns home, grappling with a troubled heart and a complicated past. Their dynamic is both heartwarming and humorous, elevated further by the fantastic banter between them. The narration by Avery Caris and Jason Clarke brings these characters to life, perfectly embodying Elle and Jace. Their performances enhance the emotional depth of the story, making it an immersive experience.
I particularly enjoyed the duet narration in third person, which offers a refreshing change from first-person POV. This approach enriches the narrative, allowing me to see each character's journey while seamlessly weaving in the subplots and supporting characters. Nyssa’s adept writing in this POV connects the books in the series more fluidly.
Produced by Blue Nose Audio, the quality of the audiobook is top-notch. If you’re a fan of small-town contemporary romances that intertwine lives and emotions, I highly recommend diving into this book—or better yet, the audiobook. Why not enjoy both?

The Reckless series is set in Misty Peak, and this fourth book is as entertaining as the previous three. I love how the other three brothers and their partners are involved in the story. It makes you feel like you’re catching up with them while getting to know Jace.

Jace Walker is the returned military man who had hoped to emulate his brothers—being military heroes. He honestly can’t see the value of his fifteen years of service in the Air Force and how vital his part was in many operations due to a devastating incident.

Elle Marshal is the manager of the cafe at the Misty Peak Mountain Tourist Centre and Jace’s childhood best friend. Her memories of their friendship are tainted due to him basically abandoning her after a short time in the military. The only thing is—she’s still in love with him like she was as a teenager.

The romance is a slow-burn one, even though they have a past together. However, there are some quite interesting and funny moments along the way. They have such good chemistry I almost wanted to push them together in a room and lock the door. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Poor Elle is spooked by a man who she believes has been watching her. Plus Jace has an anonymous text messenger who it seems is up to no good. I love how the suspense gradually increases and builds up to a level where you are literally on the edge of your seat. It doesn’t get any better than this!

Reckless Faith is another example of how talented this author is, how she can create a story that immediately takes you on an entertaining fictional journey.

How do two best friends who have been in love with each other their whole lives but also friend zoned each other so hard finally come together?

How do you trust the feelings that are being said and felt when you yourself have felt unworthy? Not good enough? Not pretty enough? Just not…enough.

Reckless Faith answers these questions and more with Elle and Jace’s story. This book had my emotions running high. I feel every woman who reads this book would resonate with Elle in some way.

Elle broke my heart. She is every young girl with intrusive thoughts and feelings of inadequacy.

With Jace also feeling not enough, like he has to prove himself worthy of his family’s pride and Elle’s love, this story became a beautiful second chance romance.

The development of Elle and Jace’s relationship was perfectly paced and the angst level was on point. The slow build of trust until they both realize they are each other’s other half, that they are enough, that they were forever, was sweet, spicy, and perfectly written.

And of course they had some help getting there with Aunt Jewel, Sadie,
and the other Walker brothers. It wouldn’t be Misty Peak without them!

It also wouldn’t be a Nyssa Kathryn book without the mystery and suspense. Elle and Jace have to face a blast from their past and a ghost from Jace’s past, all while navigating their feelings that have always been there simmering under the surface. I loved that aspect of the story.

The glimpse we get into Lock and Callie has me looking forward to the final book of the series!

I can’t get enough of Jason Clarke and Avery Caris! OMG, these two narrators knocked it out of the park with Jace and Elle! Nyssa Kathryn, you picked the perfect two for this! They each can put themselves into the character role and really make you feel that they are experiencing exactly what we are hearing in the audio!

Tropes:
• Small town
• Former Military
• Stalker
• Second chances

After a mission goes wrong, Jace finds himself back in Misty Peak, his home town where his brothers still live and the girl he wanted so hard to be good enough for.

No one knew he was back until he showed up just in the nick of time to save Sadie in the previous book but now he is back for good.

Jace and Elle were the best of friends since school, doing everything together and Elle spending more time at his house than at her own.
Jace determined to make himself good enough for Elle to give him a chance at a future together joined the military to become a great man for her, to come back and show her but that wasn’t what Elle needed.
Elle knew she would be heartbroken when he left but how could she keep him from going, this has always been his plan. Elle never told Jace how she felt about him because how could she, he is leaving, and he did.

Jace wants to fix the damage he did when he left even if they have to become friends all over again but with danger looming around, Jace just has to figure out where the danger is coming from and who is the actual target, Elle or him.

Next up, the last brother is coming home!

We are back in Misty Peak where the Walker brothers left their town to serve in the military as special forces members and little by little are returning home and finding their soulmates.
The latest arrival is Jace Walker. After the last mission in which a young team member lost his life, he left the Air Force as he feels responsible for that loss.
When he left home, he left behind Elle Marshal, his best friend since he was 8 years old. He kept her in the friend zone but now he wants more. Convincing Elle they are meant to be together might take some work.
Elle has loved Jace most of her life. In HS she was the awkward, plain kid in school and never felt she was good enough for him. Fifteen years later, she is no longer that kid , but rather a beauty. When she finally decides to forget Jace and start dating, Jace returns. Can she let go of the past insecurities? Can Jace convince her that he will not abandon her?
When things start to show them the possibility of a future, the past threatens their present and their future.
Can they overcome the adversities and finally have a chance to be together forever?
This was another wonderful addition to the story. The plot was engaging and the characters perfect with all their imperfections. It’s a story about trust, family, taking chances in life and love.
I was entrusted a copy of this story as an ebook and an audiobook . The narrators Jason Clarke and Averis Caris did a wonderful job with the voices. Loved both versions.
