The story begins on the Ruined World, where a superannuated art detective tries to solve a crime with the help of very smart Gizmo, but is betrayed. The rest of the story follows the discovery and colonization of E, a coup and a digital war, and its decline into chaos. I began as a novelist and writer of short stories and published two books and some 25 stories in those years. In the mid-90s I turned to making handmade books in editions of one or two, using my own writings, art, paper, design, printing, and binding. This edition contains all six of the separate volumes of the E cycle of novels. Previously volume one was published in graphic form (all six were initially artists books) and volumes 1-2 together as text. The individual volumes have been published as e-books. The e-book versions of volumes 2 and 4, and the print version of volumes 1-2, contain 200 pages of additional text not included in the Omnibus version.
