I had the opportunity to receive an ARC of A Queen's Glory by Kristie M. Harris. This book absolutely deserves more attention!! ✨️ It is set in Emodorea, a world where humans, fae, sirens, mermaids and witches coexist 🧜♀️ The story is filled with history, curses and political intrigue. The plot moves quickly and kept me engaged.
I really liked Reid’s character. He struggles with self doubt but steps up when it matters. His interactions with Kasin added some much needed humor. I also liked that the book didn’t just follow one character’s journey. The multiple pov shifts between Reid, the witches and the sirens which showed how different storylines connected.
The Witch Queen Isadora is a compelling antagonist. She’s powerful and terrifying. She is ruthless even toward her own family. Her backstory made her actions feel even more calculated and unsettling. I was especially invested in Elsbeth and Raynor’s storyline, even though Raynor had so little presence in the book. The uncertainty of their fate made their journey feel even more intense.
The unexpected love triangle at the end caught me off guard. Not spoiling anything ☝️😌 But I have a feeling Elisavet’s character will play an important role in the next book. I’m hoping to see some character growth from her. Same goes with Avella, but I’m more curious about Elisavet’s development 👀

This is a debut adult novel that I was incredibly excited to get for Christmas, the second I read the blurb I knew I HAD to read this book, and it did not disappoint! I really wish more of the series was out so I could read more from this world!
This book is 300 pages of fast paced epic fantasy filled with witches, sirens, mermaids, demons, humans, and gods. It was perfectly paced, the dialogue didn't feel forced in any way, the characters were very well written, there's no excessive waffle which makes this the perfect book for me.
A Queen's Glory is written from multiple points of view, something a lot of reviews I've seen have said is a problem because they can't tell who's point of view they're reading. I didn't have this problem, you can tell within the first sentence or two who's pov you're reading. Kristie has managed to do something that not many authors can do, and that is write a cohesive multi-pov book that reads smoothly and is actually quite easy to read. The different points of view don't clash with each other either, which is one of my biggest problems when reading multi-pov.
I really loved that we got to see the story unfold from each of the main races in the story, that certain characters don't just blindly follow the leaders and that there's push-back about certain plot points, and that there aren't any "Mary-Sue's" the characters all have to work in some way to get to where they are.
Honestly this is one of the best fantasy/high fantasy books I've read in a while, and I highly recommend everyone reads A Queen's Glory.

The Witch Queen Isadora is such a brutal character and I loved every second she was on the page. Even with the curse on the Siren's, the more you think about her actions, the more you realise how brutal, wicked and cruel she is. Honestly, a beautiful antagonist.
On the other hand, Reid is such a caring human being (no wonder he was the chosen one) and sometimes I wished I could have just given him a hug. His part of the novel was so entertaining to read and I wish we could have gotten more of him. Reid and Kasin's (the God) dynamic was funny and brought a light side to the book where Isadora was darkening the atmosphere.
Elsbeth and Athena's different storylines were interesting, and I am interested in how they will play out in future books. Although I didn't form an attachment with them in this first book, I hope to learn more about them and grow to love them more in time.
At first, there were many POV's which can be confusing at first with all the different characters, but I really liked all these different POV's. Kristie M. Harris delivers a darkly magical, heart-pounding fantasy in A Queen’s Glory that had me hooked from start to finish. 🌙✨
The Witch Queen Isadora was the perfect villain. She was so brutal, so ruthless, and her thirst for domination sent chills down my spine. 🥶 From her cruel curse on the sirens to her merciless treatment of everyone in her way, I couldn’t help but hate her—and yet, I found myself captivated by her twisted motives. I can’t wait to see her fall. 👑🔥
Reid, on the other hand, was the complete opposite—a ray of light in the dark. 🌟 His caring heart and selflessness made him the ultimate “chosen one,” and I just wanted to give him a big hug every time he doubted himself. 🤗 The streets raised him, but the God of Protection saw something more, and watching Reid rise to the challenge was so inspiring. His dynamic with Kasin (the sarcastic God living in his head) brought the much-needed humor to balance Isadora’s shadowy reign. 🛡️😂 Their bickering and unexpected bond had me smiling in between the heavier moments.
The world of A Queen’s Glory is rich with magic, danger, and lore. From fae, sirens, mermaids, and witches to the Gods themselves, every page was brimming with tension as the realms braced for war. 🌊✨ The sirens battling the curse added stakes that felt tangible, while the witches—Elsbeth and Athena—faced choices that could change everything. While I loved seeing the story from different angles, it wasn’t always clear whose POV it was at the start of each chapter, and I had to play a guessing game until I figured it out. 🤔 Still, the emotional depth and tension more than made up for it.

I purchased this title as a “date with a book”, so it was a fun surprise read.
The writing style is engaging, albeit cliched at times. The humour wasn’t to my taste, but it didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the narrative.
The mythology of the witches and sirens is interesting; however, there are some inconsistencies between the constructed folklore of the witches as blood thirsty beings and the characterisation of many of the witches, such as Elsbeth.
This is partly due to the multiple perspectives and fast pacing, which leads to the characters and plot feeling underdeveloped. For example, Reid’s return to the Outer Ring raises suspicions that are not addressed in this book, leading the scene to read like a red herring. Additionally, Reid’s subplot romance is an example of insta love, and Isadora’s motivations for waging war are evident but require further fleshing out.
Most characters have a lot potential. Unfortunately, it is Reid that is the weakest in the novel. I perceived him to be a Mary Sue: a young hero selected by the God of Protection for reasons that are told (not shown), and the reasons given are flimsy. His in-action stands in stark contrast to some of the other characters.
Despite these flaws, I enjoyed reading A Queen’s Glory, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

A Queen’s Glory is a novel with many POVs of characters such as sirens, humans, witches, fae, mermaids, and more. Queen Isadora of the witches is trying to conquer Emodorea, her realm, and she is doing so violently. We follow Elsbeth, Isadora’s niece, as she betrays Isadora. We also follow Reid, a human, as he is chosen by a god to defeat Isadora.
This book sets up for a sequel. We get the majority of the world/character building, and the book leaves off on a cliffhanger. This makes me anticipate the second book! I really enjoyed all of the characters. I found myself attached to all of them which is a good trait for a novel to have. I found Isadora to have the most depth, but she also had the least amount of chapters in her POV. I loved Elsbeth and Raynor, albeit they had a short time together in the book. The friendships in A Queen’s Glory are unmatched! I do wish we got more depth/development of the other characters, too, however.
I also really enjoyed the setting. Emodorea is an established realm with a lot of intricate cities inside. The world-building is easy to follow, but I do wish we got more insight on the magic system of the witches and Emodorea. Nonetheless, this is an easy fantasy read, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to get into fantasy.

An amazing beginning to The Chronicles of Emodorea!
This is a multiple POV fantasy novel with a variety of characters from witches to humans to sirens to gods. Each character is uniquely themselves as they navigate an ever-darkening world due to the Witch Queen’s need to conquer all.
There are curses and demons, selfishness and greed - but also kindness that is evident in all the races of Emodorea.
The story had wonderful pace with a lot of world-building that never slowed down the tale. There is a doomful inevitability pushing the story along as the races struggle against the overwhelming might and wickedness of the witches.
All in all, a brilliant start to a new fantasy series.

I received this eARC for my honest opinion.
This book has a mix of witches, humans, fae, mermaids, and sirens. They are all getting ready to fight the witch queen who is declaring war on all the different communities and sending curses and demons to any community that will not line with them.
First off, there are a lot of different POV’s in this book, and it can get a little confusing at first. I do wish that at the start of characters POV we would have their name of who is talking just to help out the readers. Other than that even with the multiple POV’s this book was good. I loved that we got to see what every character was thinking and how they were handling the situations that the witch queen had brought to them. I liked that this book was easy to read and fast-paced. With this being the first book the author did a great job with introducing the readers to the characters and getting a sense of who they’re and the roles that they will be playing. I liked that you will see the plot coming through the book and I can’t wait to read the next book to see what is going to happen.
Reid is a human who was chosen by the god Kasin to be the savior of everyone, and the reason is because of his kind heart and how he is always thinking of others. I loved Reid so much, at times I wished that I would have jumped into the book and just gave him the biggest hug. I found the times when Kasin and him would talk to each other to be so funny, I loved the banter between those characters. Isadora is a dark person who is out to get everyone and anything just so she can rule and I can’t wait to see what the other characters are going to do to make sure that she dealt with. Elsbeth is a witch and the niece of the queen witch, but she is not like her twin sister who has taken a liking to Isadora and follows everything that she is told to do. Athena the witch healer who has taken upon herself to take care of Tallon the siren who is turned into another creature because of Isadora. I loved getting to see and understand each of the characters POV’s throughout the book and to see what their next moves would be. I loved the action that was in this book, but for me it was all the banter and the snarky sarcastic voice of Kasin to Reid the most.

First of all I’d like to say thanks to @authors.own.publishing for my copy of this book!
Coming off the tail end of my epic reread of Vampire Academy and in the midst of the heavy fantasy I’m currently reading with a friend. I found A Queens Glory so easy to slip into and immerse myself in.
A Queens Glory is set in the realm of Emodorea; where there’s a mix of witches, humans, fae, mermaids, sirens and mermaids. But when the Witch Queen Isadora declares war on each of the races and curses the Sirens for not joining her cause-shit hits the fan!
This book has a lot of POVs, we follow Reid: a human who is selected by a God to be the realms protector, Elsbeth and Norella: twin nieces of the Witch Queen Isadora, Tallon: a siren who bears the brunt of Isadora’s curse, Athena: a healer witch, Avella: a half siren/half fae and of course Queen Bitch herself: Isadora.
I really enjoyed the change in POVS and as most of them had their own chapters it was easy to follow along with their storylines. I loved Tallon and Athena’s POVs and grew to really enjoy Reids (although he took a hot minute to get going). I can tell Kasin in Reids head is going to be hilarious, he’s already so sarcastic 😂
All in all; this was a great debut fantasy novel for Kristie. I was lucky enough to chat with her just as I was starting out this book and I am just so excited for her to achieve this dream of hers!
So do yourself a favour and go and give some love to this book!
