What can go wrong with a camera, a trip for spring break, and my best friend's little brother?
Joe
The day we were introduced, I knew there was something about you that drew me in. I’d been content never to make a commitment before, but the more I got to know you, I knew that would change. Your brother wants me to stay the hell away, but it’s not something I can do. It’s like telling an addict he can’t have his favorite drug.
When I plan a trip to sneak you away for some fun over Spring Break only to discover you know my secret, all bets are off.
I’m just not sure I’m equipped to handle you.
Aiden
I’ve never understood hookup culture. The idea of a one-and-done thing has never appealed to me. At nineteen, I’ve never had a relationship of any kind—romantic or otherwise. When I stumbled across a video one night, I wasn’t prepared for the things it made me feel.
Out of all of my brother’s friends, you’re the only one who took me under his wing and made me feel like I belong. So, when you take me on a trip, I know I need to put my plan into action.
My brother might kill us, but I need a taste of Joseph Bishop.
Spring Fling is the fourth and final book in the Season of Change series. When cameras and secrets collide, only trouble lies in wait. This book can be read as a standalone but is best enjoyed in order.
I do love a good brothers best friend trope but this one didn’t really hit it out of the ball park for me. It’s well written, there’s some comedic moments but the amount of times Aidan was called Kid by his love interest was cringe. And I want I Love You’s.
In the previous book :-
“Oh, what the fuck?” I jumped back from Daniel at Nathan’s shout. Joe and Aiden stood in the corner, Joe’s arms “around Aiden’s shoulders as the two of them kissed. They didn’t stop as Nathan marched across the room and yanked his brother away from his friend. “Don’t you dare touch him.” “Nathan. Stop. I kissed him.” Nathan shoved Joe, ignoring his brother. “I warned you, man.” “Nate.”
Sooo this is Aidan and Joe’s book.
‘I’d kissed Joseph Bishop. The feel of the metal of his lip ring pressed into my mouth made my body come alive in ways I’d never experienced before. And then my brother promptly tried to kill him. It hadn’t mattered that I’d started it because Joe had been a willing participant. Maybe taking advantage of a friend like that was screwed up—my brother’s friend. Hell, he was mine, too. We’d been getting a lot closer since the summer…’
Aidan is trying to figure his sexuality out. He finds himself on like an only fans site or porn hun and stumbles upon Joe’s videos. What a naughty boy Joe 🤣 Aidan can’t help but jerk off to the pay per view of Joe jerking off.
‘Aiden and I hadn’t spent much time together since New Year’s Eve, when he’d kissed me, and his brother had punched me in the face. The kiss had been a surprise. It hit midnight, and he’d grabbed my shirt, lips pressing to mine. Without thinking, I’d thrown my arms over his shoulders and kissed him back.’
Joe see’s Aidan as a kid, a teenager because at 19 he’s 5 years younger but then also see’s him as a friend . Pick a side dude.
He’d wanted the kiss.
‘Aidan was nineteen now, and more than capable of making his own choices—an adult.’
Dude you call him a kid yourself but now his big brother wants you nowhere near him he’s an adult ?!🤦🏻♀️
Aidan on the other hand is feeling guilty about seeing Joe’s porn page.
Anyway , Spring Break is coming up and Joe is taking him to Cancun . All platonic like. ‘One week at an all-inclusive resort with white-sand beaches and sunshine. ‘It is a bit weird that he asked Aidans parents, really cementing that kid line of thinking . Nathan is vehemently unimpressed with this brilliant idea, especially that it’s just the two of them.
‘Most of my friends had tossed that v-card in the trash a long-ass time ago, and here I was, still clutching onto it like some lovesick fool.’
There’s affection. There’s secrets revealed.
‘I wanted to pull my hair out because it was like the guy was too dumb to figure it out. “I don’t know if you noticed, but I don’t often say no when it involves you. For fuck’s sake, I kissed you.” “Are you saying you have a thing for me, kid?”’
There’s sexual chemistry.
“We’re here. For a whole week. What happens in Mexico stays in Mexico?”
Joe instantly forgets the reassurances he gave Aidan’s mum and brother.
There’s laughter. Aidan sexually experimenting with a butt plug. There’s mutual orgasms.
Oh Joe was Aidans first kiss.
Aidan is super horny on this vacay. Constantly locking himself in the bathroom for long periods of time 🤣
After hearing Aidan in the bathroom again, Joe almost breaks the door down
“Never...” he started, his eyebrows slamming down in concentration. “Never think that you need to do that without me going forward. I’m here for you. If you need me, I’ve got you. Is that understood?”
They go to a club. Oh yeah Aidan is American so he’s underage drinking on holiday. But it’s ok cos in Mexico you can drink at 18.
They are about to have some sexy times , Aidans first time, and he suggests filming it for Joe’s job.
‘It was like the lightbulb went off. “You’ve—you’ve never? Jesus, Aiden. And you wanted me to record that?”
Joe turns the camera off and they get back to sexy times and devirginising Aidan.
‘For a guy who hadn’t ever had a sexual drive, I’d sure woken him the fuck up. Not that I was complaining.’
There’s a yacht trip. Dolphins. Photography. More orgasms.
Then it’s time to go back home and back to reality.
“You chose me, huh, sweetheart?” “I think I made that obvious.”
Theres freak outs and conversations. Sexy photography taken by Aidan of them and uploaded to joes porn page. Aidan demanding Joe put a baby in him.
‘Aiden’s staying over quickly became a regular occurrence. His parents didn’t seem to mind that he spent so much time with me, and Nathan didn’t seem to know anything about it. …We had a happy little bubble of fucking and cuddling.’
There’s a date, more sexy times in front of a camera …
“That’s it baby, fucking feel that? I’m going to dump my load in that ass of yours. You want a baby. I’ll fucking give you a damn baby.”
Nathan finds out about their relationship and shit hits the fan.
So everyone knows now about them. They move in together.
THEY NEVER SAY I LOVE YOU!!
‘And maybe someday soon, I’d be able to tell Aiden how much I really loved him.’
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Aiden’s recent discovery of being demi sexual leads him to find his person in Joe, someone who he feels comfortable and safe around. Although his brother is against them being together, because Joe is his reckless friend, they can’t seem to stay away from each other.
Joe is a hyper sexual person and has never found someone he wanted to commit to until Aiden came along. Aiden accepts him for who he is and encourages his camboy profession, even helping and joining in at times. Those scenes were definitely hot.
I am a little disappointed that Joe hid somethings from Aiden but in the end Joe truly did cherish Aiden and was adamant in keeping him. It was nice to see how many people actually supported them being together. I especially loved how Chase was the one Aiden felt most comfortable opening up to besides Joe.
This book was good one to end the series with, each person in their friend group had found their person and was moving up their lives.
- Brother’s best friend - Photography student X camboy - Inexperienced X experienced - Secretly seeing each other
Well last in the Season of Change Series but not least. I don’t think I could pick a least, they’re all really good in my opinion. I loved Spring Fling. Joe and Aiden are fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥together. This was a pretty spicy 🌶️ book and I loved every second of it.
Brothers friend, especially a very protective brother can get a little harry. Joe and Aiden go on a spring break trip together away from said protective big brother and well things start to heat up. Their love story is sexy and sweet.
I know this can be a standalone but it’s so much more enjoyable if you read in order. all the other characters from the other three make a visit here and there and feeling like you already know them makes it that much more sweeter. It’s bitter sweet that the series is over. But I loved how it just ended in a nice cute package. This was a great ending story to a great series, Full of great characters. Thank you Joelle Lynne for writing about true acceptance. It took Nathan a little longer to accept but he got there.
Aiden Grant has just had his first kiss on New Years, with his brother’s (Nathan) friend (Joe). Only to find his brother punching Joe. After heading home Aiden needs to find relief. He finds a website, but discovers it is Joe on screen camming.
Joseph Bishop makes ends meet by camming. He lives with his sister, Teresa and his Niece, McKenzie in their basement. He is making good money from his camming as he gets more subscribers.
Joesph takes Aiden to Mexico for an all-inclusive holiday. Aiden wants Joe to be his first everything, and slowly feelings develop between the both of them. They both worry how Nathan will react to their relationship.
This is the final book in Joelle Lynne’s Seasons of Change series, which has been such a great read. When I read the first book, Joelle was a new to me author. I love the way she writes and her stories all intertwine. Her character descriptions are wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this series.
I really enjoyed this! It was an easy, fun and low-angst read. Aiden and Joe start out as friends, while Joe is also best friends with Aiden's brother. I loved how they went from friends to something more. Aiden is only 19 and inexperienced, while Joe is 24 with far more experience. I loved that Joe let Aiden lead and and was concious of not pressuring him. I also loved how they explored different things. Their relationship felt sweet and very accepting, free of any pressures the outside world would put on them. It was fun to see Aiden help Joe with his camming. Aiden's help came in handy, because he's a photography major, so he knew the technical aspects regarding lighting and such.
It's the 4th and final book in this series, and while it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone, you get a clearer picture and more enjoyement if you read all of the books in the series.
Pick this up of you're looking for a best friend's brother romance with demi rep, sweetness and some serious steam.
Spring Fling is the fourth book in the Season of Change series. This book can be read as a standalone but is best enjoyed in order. This is the story of Joe and Aiden. I loved these two so much. Aiden is just learning about his sexuality which Joelle Lynne writes so well. Joe is a playboy for everyone but Aiden, he is his true self for Aiden. I love seeing these two in all the other books in the series as there friendship grew. I loved how this book brought the series to an end. I can't wait to see what Joelle Lynne writes next. I would definitely recommend this book and series.
Ahhhh yes the off limits brother storyline. I love Aiden & Joe, the way Aiden stood up for him with his father. The series is now over and I’m sad about it.
eeekkkk I loved it so much. I feel like I've been waiting for Aidens book since Nathan and Chase' book. I needed Joe to have his moment too and he was everything I wanted him to be for Aiden. Aiden reminds me of someone I went to school with and a little of my son, and that made me very protective of him. Thank you Joelle for ending this series with these 2. It was perfection.
Did I start the series with book 4? Yes, yes, I did. I wish this was the first time, but it wasn't, and I never learned my lesson, apparently.
Did I still enjoy this book? Oh, yeah, definitely. Absolutely. 100%.
Oh, boy... Joe and Aiden are perfect.
This is the story of Joe and Aiden, two friendly friends who happened to have a thing for each other but not? Kinda, sorta? Yeah... well, it's a good thing spring break was coming, and they got to do something fun for it.
What can go wrong when you spend your spring break in Mexico with your brother's best friend? Absolutely nothing, right? Right.
All that happened was two people who were already friends become more... more of everything. We got to see them going from friends to best friends. From two people who were not interested in love to two people who fell in love without realizing it. We got to see their bond get even stronger, and we got to see them connect on a soul level. It was beautiful to watch. Not only was it was beautiful, it was also peaceful in a way.
Since this is book 4, we get to see the other characters in here, we see them how they are now, and it was nice. I think I would've appreciated that more if I read the previous 3 books before this one, but I will go back, read those, and then re-read this one. Fr, it's not like it's a burden. I could read about Joe & Aiden forever.
Their relationship can be quite unconventional for some readers, but I promise you that their love story is nothing but perfect. It shows that love looks different for all of us and that this is OK because it truly is. What might not work for you can work for me and vice versa. And I just love this.
I loved how free the characters were, how unapologetically themselves. We need more of that in life.
Ah, now I wish I was on a beach in Mexico, enjoying a break with a beautiful man, but since I can't have that atm, I'll go back and re-read some of my fav parts of this book and live vicariously through this two.
Ok, bye. Read this series, read this book.
5✨️, highly recommend it if you're looking for a steamy, hot, cute love story.

SEP 25 - My re-read was even better, and the audiobook was chef's kiss. After reading the whole series ( before my re-read ), I can definitely say two things with absolutely certainty... or 3.
1. I despise Nathan. Not even after reading his story did I warm up to him, but hey... maybe you'll like him.
2. Joe is the best character in this series, hands down.
3. This is still my fav book in the series.
I still highly recommend reading the whole series. It was so good, so sweet. If you like audiobooks, definitely give them a try. They're amazing.
“I’ve never seen you light up like that around anyone. He’s good for you.”
Spring Fling by Joelle Lynne is the 4th and last book in the Seasons of Change series by Joelle Lynne. I’ve loved this series and its characters and I’m sad it’s over. Spring Fling wraps up this lovely series perfectly.
Spring Fling is the story of Aiden and Joe. Aiden is Nathan’s younger brother, and we first meet Nathan in Summer of You, where he’s one of the main characters. Aiden is demisexual and still a virgin. He’s never felt attracted to anyone until Joe came along. The one person he trusts to talk about all of this is Chase, Nathan’s boyfriend. Chase is actually the one who helps him realize he might be demisexual since his feelings for Joe only developed after they became close friends.
“I just needed the connection that you were able to provide to me.”
Joe is one of Nathan’s best friends, and in the earlier books, he’s painted as a total flirt, as he just does hookups and he wants no commitments, he’s just having fun. That’s exactly why Nathan doesn’t trust him with Aiden and goes full overprotective big brother. When Aiden and Joe share a kiss on New Year’s Eve, Nathan reacts by punching Joe. Not exactly the west welcome for a potential relationship.
“You never thought it was weird that I never dated? Never had an interest in anyone? Then suddenly I can’t seem to stay away from one person and you’re doing everything in your power to keep me away from them?”
But when it comes to Aiden, Joe isn’t the player everyone thinks he is. They’ve been orbiting around each other since last summer, when Nathan would bring Aiden along to hang out with his friends. Eventually, Joe invites Aiden to Cancun for spring break, and that’s where things finally change. They go from just friends to something more. Even though they decide that what’s happening between them won’t just end when they get back to Seatle, they have to be careful. For now, they want to keep it a secret, because they are a little bit scared about how Nathan is going to react when he finds out.
“Then Nathan introduced us and… I don’t know. For the first time I felt like someone actually saw me? You didn’t push or pressure me. We had fun just hanging out and even though I knew you had a reputation, it wasn’t like you rubbed it in people’s faces.”
I loved how their relationship slowly built up over the four books and really came together here. Aiden is still figuring himself out, and Joe is so sweet with him, he takes care of him in a way that proves he’s not just some careless playboy. There’s definitely spice and some steamy scenes, but at its core, this book is about their emotional connection.
“Joe gave me that. He’s made me feel special since the beginning. That I’m cared for. He sees me for who I am and doesn’t make me feel less than.”
“We’d gotten so very close, so very fast, but I couldn’t stop it. This felt like fate.”
The side characters make the story even better. Joe’s sister Teresa and his niece McKenzie play a big role in his life. He adores his niece, and his sister is his rock. His dad adds a bit of drama, but nothing too overwhelming. And seeing all the other couples from the previous books again was such a nice touch.
Honestly, Spring Fling is the perfect way to wrap up this series. It can be read as a standalone, but I totally recommend starting from the beginning. The whole series is a great read.
“What started off as a group of friends embarking on the crazy adventure of college turned into so much fucking more. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome for my life or even theirs.”
I received an ARC from Nisha’s Books and Coffee PR for free, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

BLURB END:
The final book in the change of season series is here! I feel like we’ve been waiting forever for Joe and Aidan’s story and now it’s finally here and I’m so pumped for these awesome boys together so let’s get started im writing this review as I go and edit after I finish LETS GOOO
Normally I hate it when the main characters get together so quick, but Joe and Aiden has been circling around each other for ever we’ve been feeling the attraction since Nathan and Chase‘s book so even if it was fast paced it was well deserved and goddamn hot I gotta admit the way Nathan reacted after finding Joe and Aidan kissing on New Year’s Eve. I was so worried for his reaction and honestly kind of disappointed in how he treats his friend don’t get me wrong. I love Nathan but Joe deserve better.
Let’s have a short talk about the mix of sexualities going on here so Aidan is demi sexual and he needs a connection to form attraction sexual or otherwise and then we have Joe the pansexual hypersexual guy who just enjoys himself these two mixed together, Joe and Aidan, are either there a recipe for disaster or the epic railroad to forever
Aidan and Joe story was just what I needed. I was on the way into a serious reading block and I’m so happy these amazing boys pulled me out before I reached the deep end its Short but beautifully fulfilled it was so fulfilling reading spring fling just no drama well you know kinda a little sprinkle of Nathan’s temper in there but still Joe and Aidan has the most spiciest intimate scenes in the whole series
I rated this an exquisite 4.5 out of 5 dad I have not really anything bad to say. I could’ve used some more drama for another day, but this was really low angst stressfree love story and was just what I needed at the moment even though this is part of a series you can read the books as standalones it is interconnected though so if you wanna know the little things that maybe I talked about in some of the books, I would recommend reading the whole series from the start Until next time, my loves…
Rating: 4,5/5 Spice: 4/5 Angst: 0,1/5 Would I read again: absolutely
(I received an advance copy for free and I’m leaving this review voluntarily)
📷 MM Romance 🌷 Best friend’s Brother 📷 Cam Boy 🌷 Virgin MC 📷 Vacation romance 🌷 Breeding K!nk ___________•___________
Ummm… This wasn’t my favorite out of the series. The whole clueless virgin thing I always find annoying in books. While it isn’t the “clueless virgin” part I find annoying, it’s the way the virgin in question acts. Okay, you’re a virgin and don’t know anything about sex. There’s no need to be all childish about it. Always nervous that the character is fumbling over their words or clumsy with their actions. Not all virgins act like one or just be silly about things.
Every little touch had Aiden blushing and whatnot. Same with every time Joe called him sweetheart. Some 19-year-olds don’t act childish, but I think in Aiden’s case it really proved that he was still a teenager. Aiden is the one who basically initiated what he wanted to happen over spring break but couldn’t stop acting so inexperienced. Not just with sexual things but in general. This is why I am not a fan of Virgin MCs. I’m not sure why they’re always written the same.
How did he have such confidence leading up to the moment of losing his virginity, but was acting so inexperienced with the littlest things? It made no sense. Why not have him own that confidence to begin with? A virgin with confidence—I’d love to read about that.
Nathan got on my nerves. Aiden got on my nerves as well. Just tell your brother. He kept stating that he’s an adult. Then act like it. The whole brother’s best friend trope is my least favorite, and that’s typically why. The brother in question shouldn’t have any power or say so over who their sibling dates. I don’t care if it is the brother’s best friend. I honestly didn’t like Nathan at all in this book. I liked him in Summer Of You, but he was a bad friend to Joe. Not only was he always talking down on him, but he was being a d**k too. I did not like his attitude or him in this book. He wasn’t giving “that’s my best friend”. Joe felt more like an acquaintance of Nathan’s instead of a best friend.
Idk I just didn’t feel like I got enough of Aiden and Joe to like them as a couple.
I've been eagerly waiting for Joe and Aiden's story and I am so excited that it's finally here! Those two have had so much chemistry together even as they were side characters in the previous books, so for them to now have their own? Well their chemistry was completely off the charts.
I am really happy Joe and Aiden finally got together after watching all of their friends couple up and pair off. Joe tried to fight what he's been feeling for the talented photographer, but fighting his feelings only made him want the other man more. Aiden was tired of letting fear and worry control him, he knew he wanted Joe and he went after exactly what he wanted. I thought this story was good, I'll be honest, I almost stopped reading this halfway through. The reason being it seemed way too focused on steamy scenes. I understand Joe's job, and how he's s+x positive, and that Aiden wants to explore with Joe... But. Most of the chapters all involved a steamy scenes of some sort to the point where it felt as if it was just filler. For me all of those scenes didn't add anything to the story.
Your probably wondering what made me continue reading... I kept reading because I wanted to see if eventually Joe and Aiden would actually have a relationship outside of their steamy scenes. If they would have heartfelt and serious conversations, if they'd go on dates, if they'd become boyfriends, etc. And I'm happy to report that they did! The latter half of this book was my favorite because we got to see these men in a more personal way. We got more insight into Joe's relationship with his sister and his parents, along with seeing Aiden's relationship with Nathan shift overtime and them learning how to navigate that.
Overall, I think this is a good story that's well worth a read. And while this is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.
I found out this was book 4 in a series about two chapters into the book. A lot of characters were named with zero explanation and I was very confused. SO, I did read this as a standalone. It can definitely be read that way without missing anything crucial to these characters’ story. I believe there was some things that happened from a previous book in the series but I didn’t feel out of the loop without having read it. The story follows Aiden Grant who is an inexperienced nineteen year old that’s in love with one of his brother Nathan’s friends. Said friend is Joe Bishop who is just trying to figure out his life after graduating from college. He also has a bit of a reputation. After a kiss on New Year’s that ended with Nathan punching Joe, he’s been hesitant to pursue his attraction to Aiden. But when the two of them go on a vacation alone, they can’t keep skirting around it. They get together on the trip and have to deal with whatever that means when they get home. And, they have to figure it out while also keeping it a secret from Nathan. I really loved the book. It made me excited to read the previous books in the series (which I will hopefully do soon). The only little part that kept it from being 5 stars for me is there is a certain kink that I’m not the biggest fan of. It’s written pretty well and isn’t a major plot point so it was easy to get past. I would definitely recommend reading this book especially if you like a brother’s friend and/or innocent MMC story.
What can I say about these two that hasn't already been said? I loved the energy of this book, because Aiden & Joe's relationship and growing love developed so naturally and beautifully. I actually thought their eventual run-in with Nathan about their relationship was almost anti-climactic. Although I will say that Nathan ended up taking the news well enough to not shun anyone or attempt to rescind a friendship or anything. I believe Chase probably brings down Nathan's temperamental tendencies.
Aiden is such a sweet, yet bold young man. It took him a long time to understand what it was he wanted in a relationship and partner, but he jumped right in with Joe when they finally made their connection. Joe made it easy for Aiden to sink into everything, because he was truly respectful and appreciative of everything they could have together. I feel like these two were the sweetest of the couples in this series. Each of the others had their moments, but these two seemed sweet all the way around, even during their intensely physical scenes.
I'll have to read through the whole series again, just to refresh my memory of all of the MCs and their personalities, but it all seemed pretty consistent amongst the four books, and the four very different types of romantic relationships. I loved Spring Fling and I'm sad we won't get to enjoy anymore stories in this universe, but I'm excited to see what direction Joelle Lynne takes next! ❤️
I received an authorized copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
Yep. This book is my absolute favorite out of this whole series. I knew that when Aiden and Joe’s story came forth that this story was going to be epic and it definitely did not disappoint me at all.
I absolutely loved that their book was the last book to wrap it all up. I wanted to strangle Nathan so many times from how he talked about how bad Joe was for his baby brother when he in fact had been the one to drag him to parties and even gave him alcohol.
The connection between Aiden and Joe was so beautiful. I also loved that Aiden was demisexual and that was why it felt such a strong bond with Joe.
Joe’s niece was just so adorable. I about died laughing that even when Joe told the single mom that he was in a relationship and gay, she was still trying to hit on. Call for desperate measures was written all over her.
All in all, this was so cute from the Mexico vacation and to these two getting their happily ever after.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I've been anxiously awaiting this book after the pairing was nicely set up in Winter Ends (that NYE kiss!). I'm a sucker for the brother's best friend trope and this one delivered in spades. Aiden, recently discovered demisexual, just had his first kiss with his brother's best friend Joe, who notoriously enjoys the hookup life. Aiden and Joe have always been drawn to each other and when Joe decides to take them both on a trip to Cancun for Aiden's spring break, Aiden decides to make the most of it and shoot his shot. While they initially decide to just "have fun" (don't they all), they quickly realize there's more growing between them and have to navigate their relationship once they return home - and deal with Aiden's wildly overbearing brother and Joe's best friend, Nathan.
Watching the relationship grow between these two was super sweet, especially if you've been reading the books in order and cheering them on in the background. Aiden finds the trust he needs to open up to a relationship, and Joe finds the person he can care for and come back to over and over. When their relationship becomes public (they initially hide it), I love that they don't continue to try and hide, but choose each other and let the chips fall where they may. They don't let Nathan get in the way of their relationship or cause doubt, which so many books use as an angst point with the brother's best friend trope. Don't get me wrong, I love the additional angst, but it's refreshing that they just doubled down and stood strong in their feelings.
I'm sad that this is the last book of the series because I loved each one, but Joe and Aiden's story was a nice way to end it. I can't wait to read what Joelle comes out with next!
What a happy and perfectly-timed story! 5-stars!!!
I still have one more to read in this series, but this is my absolute favorite! I loved Aiden and Joe and during a time I was reading and writing very heavy and intense stories, this was the perfect lighter, low-angst, yet high-steam read I needed.
This came as a self-rec from the author from a FB group M/M Book Rec. (I get so many amazing recommendations from there!) and it was exactly perfect to lighten my heart and mood.
Aiden is young and inexperienced and well - not really attracted to anyone.
Except for Joe.
Joe is the one who's got the reputation for hooking up with anyone and everyone, but that doesn't stop him from exploring something with his best friend's younger brother.
I'm not one who understands a lot about Ace characters, but I love that Aiden saw something in Joe that made him comfortable, attracted, and happy. Joelle Lynne does a fantastic job of portraying an underrepresented kind of character, allowing for a positive example for us - as readers - to get to know. It doesn't hurt that Aiden is just wonderful and sweet.
If you're looking for a light story without a lot of drama and definitely with a decent amount of heat, then you should read Spring Fling. I read it all in one sitting because I couldn't put it down.
Now, I just need to go back and read Season of Change #2 (Fall)!
MY OPINION: Oh so spicy!! I liked the spice and how it was so much a part of the story. This was a fun story of two guys who just want to love each other. And have a lot of private moments with each other, or with a camera, or on the beach.
Aiden has a thing for Joe, his brother's friend, and when that came to light months earlier, it ended up with Joe having a black eye. They can’t help it, though they are drawn to each other, especially Aiden, who believes he is demisexual, and Joe is the one who has his interest. Once Aiden found the person he wanted to explore intimacy with, he was all in, and fortunately, Joe was more than happy to participate.
Joe has a few secrets of his own, including being a camboy in his sister's basement. The good news is Aiden is there for it, too. These two explore all the things they can and fall into each other quite quickly, but what is surprising is that Joe changes from being with whomever, whenever, to wanting to only be with Aiden, and it doesn’t scare him as much as he would expect.
The book walks with them both, exploring each other, including Aiden having his first encounters, while Joe has to let people know what he and Aiden are up to. It's a spicy, low-angst story with some good guys that are just figuring out how to tell Aiden’s brother it's a real thing. It’s a good book that I am glad I got to read.
Ahhh, the off-limits brother’s best friend trope—and Joelle Lynne delivers it so well. In Spring Fling, we finally get Aiden and Joe’s story, and it’s everything I hoped for and more.
After Aiden shares his very first kiss with Joe on New Year’s Eve, things spiral fast—cue his brother Nathan punching Joe, and Aiden stumbling onto a cam site… only to find Joe on screen. Yep. That sets the tone!
Joe’s been camming to help support his sister and niece, and while he seems like a carefree playboy to the world, he’s nothing but real and soft when it comes to Aiden. Meanwhile, Aiden is just starting to explore his sexuality, and the way Joelle writes his journey is heartfelt and honest.
They take a trip to Mexico, things heat up (obviously), but it’s not just physical—feelings grow, and both guys are terrified about Nathan finding out.
I’ve been waiting for Aiden’s story since Nathan & Chase’s book, and this was the perfect way to end the Seasons of Change series. The friendships, the family moments, the character growth—it all came together so beautifully.
I'm sad the series is over, but so grateful it ended with these two. Protective, sweet, and just a little spicy—absolutely perfect. Highly recommend both this book and the whole series if you're into emotional, interconnected queer romances with heart.
Joe and Aiden had a connection from the first moment, but for fear of rejection and of Aiden's brother, it was never explored. That is, until a New Year's kiss changes everything.
Joe was such an interesting character. He was super open and honest until he had some complicated feelings, and then he put on a mask and tried to act like everything was fine. His relationship with his parents was super sad, and I hated how it was resolved. Him with Aiden was a different story. He could or simply didn't feel the need to fake anything. He opened up and shared his feelings, his fears and his love with Aiden since the first moment, evolving into a romantic connection.
Aiden was a nineteen year old that in the eyes of his brother, never grew up. But he was his own person, he was brave even while being shy, he took the chance to act on his crush and fight for who he wanted, and in the end, it paid off.
There was some minor drama with Nathan and Joe's parents, but the couple was solid because the love they felt was real. I did want them to say 'I love you', but I guess seeing them think it was enough.
4.5 stars This was an enjoyable story of Joe and Aiden, two young men, friends through Aiden’s brother, giving into an attraction between them, despite disruptive influences from Aiden’s brother. Nineteen year old Aiden has never been attracted to anyone and is relieved when his brother’s boyfriend suggests he might be demisexual, advising him to go online and see what interests him. He is shocked to find his brother Nathan’s friend Joe with his own website, and Joe had always treated him kindly, making him feel safe, and more importantly, seen — that’s what interests him! When Joe takes him on a spring break trip to Cancun, things change quickly, starting a relationship that fills a need for both. It is a delight to observe the way Aiden wholeheartedly embraces his new sexuality and his relationship with Joe, eagerly helping Joe with his work and creative ideas. Joe also finds someone who supports him without reservation, offering himself emotionally and physically in all ways possible. These two are definitely meant to be.
I haven’t read the other books in the series, I might need to check them out to get the backstory on the supporting characters. Easy to read and very entertaining without a lot of angst between the MCs.
Spring Fling ; Season Of Change Book 4 ) well Oh My Gosh . I have to just say that after devouring and falling completely in love not only with each installment in this fantastic world Joelle has created . but all her characters and different couples . Well I really never thought I would have a favorite. But these two Aiden and Joseph - their most definitely it . The development of their relationship- how they simply started off as friends and watching them come into their feelings of being more to each other , truly so beautiful and so extremely emotional. You know a story is a good one when you literally spend most of the day and a good portion of the evening just devouring every single word and actually losing track of time while doing just that . And don’t even get me started on all the emotions I was reeling from. I mean smiling and laughing out loud to actually yelling outta frustration to sobbing so hard and cheering harder then I have in a very long time. I honestly cannot pinpoint exactly what it was because each character really has a special place in my heart. But Aiden and Joseph , the connection I felt to them was so strong , kind of like a moth to a flame 🔥. So settle in grab on tight and prepare yourself to be completely blown away in all the best ways possible
This is book four of the author’s Season of Change series and features Joe and his best friend’s younger brother, Aiden.
Joe’s business degree hadn’t done much to help him find a job after graduating so, at 24 years old, he found himself living in his sister’s basement, trying to make enough money as a cam boy to be able to move out.
Aiden was Joe’s best friend’s little brother but there was something special about him. Nineteen years old, a virgin and never been kissed, he couldn’t understand the fascination with sex and hookups…until he noticed Joe. Too bad his brother punched Joe after a New Year’s Eve kiss and demanded he stay away from Aiden. Maybe not a wise decision but neither Joe nor Aiden WANTED to stay away from the other so when they spent Spring Break together in Cancun, it was no surprise when the sparks flying changed to a blazing inferno.
This was a super sweet read with zero angst, a five year age gap, a virginal MC with a breeding kink and a struggling cam boy. While it might not have been not incredibly deep, it WAS tons of fun and well worth the time it took to finish and one I recommend for anyone looking for a lighthearted romance.
I received a copy of this book for free from GRR but am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the type of 3* that is a fun palette cleanser of a read. There was nothing bad about it at all, and the spicy scenes were both hot 🥵 and intimate. It is super easy and quick to read and i finshed it in one sitting.
Joe is Aiden's brother's best friend. They shared a kiss at New years. However, the feelings for each other ran deep from before that. Friendship from one and more from the other. Aiden is demisexual so needs that connection and trust with a person before attraction can bloom, and the book is the development of their relationship over a week long fling and it's fallout.
This was quite low angst (despite the best friend drama between Joe, which didn't provide much tension if I'm honest).
While these are interconnected standalones, I read this without having read the previous books, and I feel as though it stood on its own well. I didn't feel like I was missing context from prior books, and it was easy to see the relationship between characters in this alone. That being said, it did seem as though the relationship with Nate and Joe didn't seem like one of best best friends.
Of all the Seasons of Change stories Spring Fling is my favourite.
Why? A long awaited Aiden Grant and Joseph Bishop love story- that is why!
Everybody ( all their collective couple friends could pick up on the vibes between them, even Aiden’s older brother Nathan and he was a douch about it!
“There was being a protective older brother, and then there was being a dick to your friends.”
Their dynamic started off as friends when Nathan rekindled his love with Chase and neglected his younger brother and only single friend.
It evolved into them becoming best friends and then something so much more deeper, especially when camboy Joe took Aiden to Cancun for Spring Break…
“Joseph Bishop was the one thing I couldn’t have, and maybe that was why I wanted it so damn badly.”
They were sweet and steamy together with different kinks that complimented each other’s and enhanced their bond immensely!
I thoroughly enjoyed this series and loved the rounding off of all the season couples with Aiden and Joe being their unique selves!
I voluntarily received an ARC from Nisha’s Books & Coffee PR for an honest non biased opinion and recommendation.
Aiden, the virginal demisexual only has eyes for his older brothers friend Joe. Joe has been warned away from Aiden by Aiden's overprotective brother Nathan. Aiden & Joe try to resist the attraction and pull toward each other. All of that changes after a kiss on NYE, a secret discovered, and a spring break trip to Mexico. Aiden & Joe's attraction, lust, and passion burns fast and hot.
Spoilers ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ Things characters said/did that that irritated me. Both Nathan & Teresa walk into the MCs rooms without knocking. Teresa even goes as far to say (when talking about Joe's cam job) "What about me? What if I had walked in on something I didn’t need to see?” Well, maybe you should learn to knock without just walking in!!! Everyone deserves privacy! I get it's her house, but Joe does deserve privacy, not only when it comes to his room but also his personal life! Why must he be obligated to tell ANYONE what he does for a living?! Good lord, the idea basic boundaries do not exist for some of these characters.
