A good understandable read, with good information on the optimal training of children. My main piece of criticism is that the information on strength training is out of date. There has been new research done by Mayo Clinic debunking the harmful affects of weight training on children, if children waits until they are 17 to begin training, they will be greatly behind the curve. Also his presumptions that the optimal rep/set scheme for strength training is 2-3 sets of 10-12 reps is not based on any sound science.

Good simple read. Heavily focused on sensitive periods of development that I believe have since been down played in scientific literature, though.

The most complete book I've seen regarding the developmental years of children and training them.

Very detailed outline on "windows" of prime adaptability to training and the acquisition of motor skills.
