MEGHAN

My husband is a cheating bastard.

If it weren't for my daughter, I'd have gotten rid of him years ago. But I don't want my sweet Hazel growing up the way I did. So I've continued putting up with Cole's indiscretions. But this time around, Cole crosses a line that he can't come back from. And I'm going to teach him a lesson he'll never forget.

COLE

I love my wife dearly, but she needs some serious help.

Ever since her traumatic brain injury, she hasn't been the same. She's constantly accusing me of cheating on her. Yes, I've made mistakes, but that's in the past, and I've apologized for those. Now, I think she might even be following me to work. She's taking things too far. I don't know how much more of this I can handle. The only problem is, I'm afraid that if I try to leave her, she'll kill me.

This is the second book I have read by Shade Owens. Hunting You and The Webs You Weave both have jaw-dropping twists. This thriller is full of red herrings that had me believing I knew the twists but was completely surprised as the twists were revealed. The narrators Kaden Catalina and Jay Parker masterfully bring the characters to life adding elements of intensity and suspense. The final twist caught me off guard and I never saw it coming. Very clever! Thank you, NetGalley and Red Raven Publishing for my audiobook.

“He tries to act like he isn’t interested and like he would never cheat on his wife. But I know he wants me. Probably more than he’s ever wanted her”

Cole only hires the prettiest assistants. A compulsive liar, professional gaslighter and serial cheater, he’s playing a hazardous game. After all, a woman scorned is a dangerous woman, indeed. And his wife is no exception.

The characters in this book are CRAZY! I enjoyed the multiple points of view and the short and engaging chapters. I empathised with Megan, and was totally behind her getting revenge on her rat of a husband.

There were some good twists, but I did find it a little predictable and a bit drawn out in places. However, it did keep me engaged and turning those pages!

“Don’t worry, Valeria. Soon, you’ll be ancient history, just like the rest of Cole’s little playthings”

Thank you to NetGalley and Red Raven Publishing for my advanced copy.

This truly was a gripping psychological thriller. It was so hard to know which narrator to trust, but it quickly becomes obvious that Cole is scrum and uses and destroys the women in his life. I was actually hoping for a worse ending for him, but I suppose this was better justice for the women involved. Good story!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author Shade Owens, and Red Raven Publishing for my advance copy of this audiobook.

Well well… “The Webs You Weave” was definitely the perfect title for this book because there were definitely some webs woven!!! This author skillfully unravels the complexities of a marriage in trouble and it captured me from the very beginning until the very end. The story follows Meghan and Cole.. Meghan is recovering from a brain injury, while Cole continues to work & provide for Meghan & their teenage daughter Hazel. However, since Cole is a habitual cheater, Meghan is suspicious of this latest behaviors.

Highly recommended as these jaw dropping plot twists just kept coming! The alternating first person points of view & dual narration in the audiobook brought some extra “umph” that I really enjoyed! Shade Owens has a new fan! This one will stick with me for a while & live rent free in my head. 4.5 ⭐️

This was my first SHADE novel and man was it good! I loved this psychological drama! This story follows Meghan, Cole and Hazel. This family had it all together until Meghan got into a wreck that messed her up pretty badly. Now the parents fighting Hazel feels like she’s always caught in the middle and she’s just trying to stay out of the way. There are so many details that I want to share but you’ll just have to read it to find out! This book is definitely worth reading!

**UPDATE** I listened to the audiobook and still love this book! The dual narration by Kaden Catalina and Jay Parker made it feel like I was reading it for the first time. I definitely recommend listening to this one if you can!

I love Shade Owens’ thriller novels, so I was excited to read this one. It definitely didn’t disappoint. This domestic thriller is full of suspense and delivered through short chapters, which I really appreciate. There are various POVs to keep things interesting and nonstop twists and turns that are unpredictable. Entangled in a serious game of cat and mouse, I wasn’t sure who had the advantage over who. I was entangled in the pages right along with these characters. Working hard to determine what was true and what wasn’t had me up late at night in a trance. I just had to know what was going to happen in the end. The drama in these pages was at an all time high! Another great piece of work by Shade Owens! Her suspense/thriller novels are definitely auto reads for me now.

Thank you NetGalley, Booksprout, and Red Raven Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 🌟

The Webs You Weave was a jam packed domestic thriller, full of twists and turns and red herrings. Told from multiple pov to keep the reader guessing.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the title I did guess all of the twists, and found certain elements to be really repetitive, but I still had fun with the book.

Kaden Cartalina and Jay Parker narrated the title really well.

Huge thanks to Red Raven Publishing via NetGalley for the opportunity to review this audiobook🎧

Meghan is frustrated with her husband Cole for cheating, but she stays with him for the sake of their daughter. However, when Cole crosses a line, Meghan decides to teach him a lesson. Cole loves his wife but believes she needs help since her brain injury has changed her behavior. He denies cheating and fears for his safety if he tries to leave her.

What an engaging read! This is my first time delving into the works of this author, and I am surprised I haven't come across more of their books before. I thoroughly enjoyed this cleverly crafted story, filled with unexpected twists and turns at every corner. The narrative was at times eerie and incredibly unpredictable, keeping me on the edge of my seat and even holding my breath at times.

The plot was well-developed, with plenty of surprises that made me question my assumptions. I highly recommend this book, especially if you have the time to immerse yourself in a binge-reading session. It's a page-turner that will keep you hooked until the very end.

Thank you Booksirens and Shade Owens for digital ARC copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

One of the most twisty and unpredictable thrillers I have ever read.

Thanks to NetGalley I got to listen to the webs you weave by shade Owens as an audiobook and it had me gripped instantly. Following Meghan and Cole we learn early on that Meghan was involved in an accident that left her recovering from a brain injury and while she continues to do recover at home her husband is at work looking to provide for both his wife and their daughter Hazel but with the couple keeping secrets from both each other and the people around them the drama is endless. Serial cheater Cole has given Meghan more than enough reason to be suspicious of him once again and his actions are looking to have consequences for everybody.

This book never stopped with the twists and while I often find some phycological thrillers to be some what predictable this incredible book by Shade Owens kept me guessing right until the very end. I didn't know which narrator to trust, what would happen next and I certainly didn't see multiple twists coming the way they did. The constant revelations and twists kept me hooked and made it impossible to put this down. The audio throughout was incredible. the different voices brought everyone to life and made it feel as though a TV show was playing out in my head. The youth and heart and kindness from Hazel was evident, Cole and his untrustworthy yet convincing ability to tell a lie had me confused where I needed to be and Meghan felt like I best friend I wanted to save and shake into reality. The sound effects and muffled voices during phone call scenes and the little details added to the audio were unlike anything else I have experienced with an audiobook and created an incredible reading/listening experience.

Shade Owens gave each character depth and a background we consumed and believed. We were made to feel genuine emotion for the characters provided and the story of a marriage, suspicion and relationship struggles felt real and relatable but also the teenage character of Hazel and her internal battle with herself felt equally relatable and genuine.

I would highly recommend this book to those who love a twisty phycological read with in depth characters, unpredictable and unreliable narrators and a fresh take on the domestic thriller genre. The audio narration added even more to this book and separated it from so many other thriller reads. This for sure is one that will stay on your mind.

The Webs You Weave is a gripping psychological thriller that is absolutely unputdownable. I was hooked right off the bat. This book truly kept me on the edge of my seat with the building suspense and the short chapters. I absolutely loved the multiple POV’s and timelines, it really made me so much more engaged in the story. There are so many lies, secrets, twists and drama it was impossible to look away.

The author skillfully created a plot that unraveled at the perfect pace and kept me invested. The characters were all untrustworthy and I kept going back and forth on who to trust. This book truly kept my mind spinning and the twists definitely smacked me in the face a few times.

Overall, this was an amazing psychological thriller that I absolutely loved. It has everything I look for in one, it was absolutely unputdownable and highly bingeable.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is a great psychological thriller! It’s super entertaining and exciting! I was hooked from the very beginning! I enjoyed the entire storyline and was surprised with some of the crazy twists and turns!
This book follows the lives of Megan, Cole and their daughter Hazel. Megan had an accident that changed her life, both physically and mentally. Because of this, it’s caused a lot of drama in the family dynamics.

This is my 2nd read from this author and it’s another 5🌟 book! I really enjoy the way this author tells a story.

Thank you to NetGalley for an audio copy of this fantastic book! The narrators did an excellent job! I enjoyed listening to the different voices telling the story.
*It’s out now, and is an awesome read!!*

This is a page-turner that centers on infidelity and the havoc it causes in a marriage. Meghan is married to Cole a serial cheater. Following what appears to have been an accident that has left her disfigured and partially paralyzed, she has to contend with him cheating repeatedly with the assistants he hires. But there is more to their marriage being held together barely by the presence of their daughter, Hazel. There was a level of implausibility to the story that lost it a star but otherwise an enjoyable read. I received an advance copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily. 4 stars

~The book started off really good, the story was engaging and promising I almost couldn't put it down because it was so intriguing and wanted to know what's going to happen next and the chapters were short which made it an easy read, I tried to imagine every possible plot twist but none of it was there.

~I was a little disappointed about the unforseen event I didn't see that coming but it wasn't surprising or shocking at all, it fell flat, I mean my jaw was supposed to drop but it didn't, it didn't carry enough emotional weight.

The Webs You Weave
By: Shade Owens

There are two sides to every story and sometimes the truth is somewhere in the middle, and sometimes its fabricated.

A husband and wife have their own version of events. One might have a traumatic brain injury, one might be cheating and one might want revenge.
Oh the wicked web of lies this novel spins.
This is my first by this author, and definitely not my last.

Thank you Raven Publishing for this audio book. The narrators were perfect!

A compelling read, with short chapters making it even harder to put down.

When reading Cole’s first chapter I thought “ugh, you can tell this was written by a man” but I quickly realised it was actually just well written, with each character having an authentic, believable voice - busy husband, anxious wife, angsty teen… and the mystery diary entries.

Had me second guessing who everyone really was and what was really going on. Towards the end of the book the truth is revealed little by little, then all at once with a satisfying ending.

Fans of Frieda McFadden will enjoy the style and pace.

This book is a solid 3.5 ⭐️

I found myself enjoying this book from the start. The twists and turns had me guessing throughout the entire story. I wasn't expecting the ending at all!

The healing in Hazel and Megs relationship was well done. The way Meg was able to prove her own innocence and her husband's infidelity was priceless and left me laughing. Talk about karma. I feel he deserved more punishment for the gaslighting, lying, cheating, and for putting his family in danger.

There were many times I felt I was re-reading the same thing over again with the back and forth in timelines that had me questioning myself along with Meg. I felt the story line with Megs mother and her past were unnecessary. It took away from the flow of the main plot.

Overall, I did enjoy this book and would recommend it. The writing styles remind me of Fredia McFadden with a little Jeneva Rose.

This was such a quick fast paced ride! I loved having a multiple povs in the story because it’s kinda cool getting to see why things happened the way they did. I think it did a great job making you question so much and had you racing to the end to figure out what really is going on. I think it was interesting to get to dive into a family and see all points of view and how someone thinks the actions they are doing is the right way and how someone else takes those actions. I think a lot of the time we have soooo many misunderstandings and this book does a great job showing how easy things like that can happen. This is definitely a book to read if you love Frieda McFadden books because it gives off that vibe of what the heck is going on and I can’t wait to see the twist!!!! And this one has some so yay to that! Thanks to NetGalley for giving me a chance to read this definitely an author I will be on the look out for in the future!

I thought the book had a strong start, but then it became extremely repetitive. “I know he’s cheating on me” is the only topic of this book and I felt like it needed more substance.
I also found the narrator to be difficult to listen to. She was so overtly sexy when she talked that it made me roll my eyes.
I do think many folks will enjoy this book and will wonder what happens, but for me it missed the mark.

I do appreciate the opportunity to listen to this audiobook early and want to extend my gratitude to the author, NetGalley, and Red Raven Publishing.

Thank you @NetGelley and @ AudioArc. The Webs You Weave audio was a suspenseful psychological thriller. I enjoyed the dual narration by Kaden Catalina and Jay Parker. I was unsure in the first few chapters if this was going to draw me in to its web. As the story unfolded and we got both sides of Meghan and Cole relationship and why they stayed married. I did not see the ending coming and the trap that Meghan had set up for Cole. I was cheering for her. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and mind play. This book was my first read by Shade Owens.

This book was exactly what I needed to break out of a reading slump. After a string of underwhelming reads this month, this fast-paced thriller completely pulled me in. I finished it in just two days, I was hooked from the start.

One of the things I loved most was how it kept me guessing. I found myself constantly second-guessing who the real villain was, and while I managed to predict a few twists, there were still plenty that took me by surprise.

Overall, it's a gripping, well-paced read that delivers on suspense and intrigue. A solid 4 stars from me!
