At first, I LOVED this book as a rare view into the artist behind artist's books, but then it got sort of tedious. It took me forever to finish, and even then I did out of loyalty more than real interest. To be fair, it is a catalog of work, but I think the occasional flashes of brilliance showed support for more juicy narrative. Perhaps Mr. Smith also tired of this project, and hey if it was because he looked forward to making more new work rather than looking back, I forgive him.

anecdotal bibliography of over three decades of obsessive bookmaking, forming an interesting kind of autobiography, as well as an index of all the successes and failures of 200 experiments with the book format
