I'm the author of this ebook. I was prompted to write it when David Auburn, the Pulitzer prize winning author of PROOF, decided to create a play called THE COLUMNIST about my uncle, Joseph Alsop and my father, Stewart.

Since I was one of the children listening at the top of the stairs through the fifties and sixties, I had stories to tell about those years that would help illuminate who these men were and how important they were to the history of their times. This is the first of those stories.
