Sacred Trinity #3

The Comfort in the Brave

Rate this book
Clover Bradley was having the worst day of her life and then she got kidnapped . In her own home. Well, her empty and currently being renovated childhood home on the edge of Disciple, West Virginia and not her former cozy cottage on the grounds of the Dixie Yonder Hotel where she was working and thriving until that very morning. But it still counts and definitely makes her very bad day much worse.

But that’s not even the crazy part. The crazy part is that she’s falling for her kidnapper. A handsome man, if a little morally challenged, who is probably very dangerous and has threatened to kill her half a dozen times over the span of just one day, but what can one do? The attraction is there.

Riggs is just trying his best to stay out of prison. Which seems at odds with his current actions, but need-to-know nuances make all these nonsensical pieces fit. And even though Clover isn’t a model captive—she’s a complainer of the princess variety—he finds himself getting attached. If he hadn’t been forced to kidnap her to save his own hide, he could see a future where the two of them end up together.

So he figures… why not save her life by endangering her some more?

And she figures… well, it’s better than being left to rot in her own basement.

And that’s, of course, when things get interesting.

The Comfort in the Brave is an ironic twist of fate inbred to a really bad decision. It’s a captive romance turned ride-or-die in a crazy escape from Blackberry Hill—but this time Collin Creed isn’t coming to save anyone, he’s looking for revenge.

J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.

After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.

So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.

She lives on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.

I've been listening to this on JA Huss's Patreon where she delivers a chapter a day and it was killing me to wait! I love this book!!! I received the final book today so I just devoured the final few chapters and I'm so glad I did. It was epic.

Clover is a sweet girl who is just having the worst day of her life. She returns to her childhood home to find a stranger squatting in her house. Riggs isn't just a simple stranger though. He's a very dangerous man and Clover is in trouble.

This is a new world for JA Huss. She can introduce new books into this world for years and years. She's calling it a "forever series" because it just doesn't have to end. I think it's smart to break it up into 3 trilogies at a time. This Sacred Trinity trilogy was amazing. I loved the sweet love stories mixed with suspense and her famous twists in books 1 and 2. This book was sexy and darker (but not a dark romance), and shows more of what's really going on in the Trinities.

The audio was so good. Samantha Summers was so sweet as Southern belle Clover. The only other time I heard her narration was as a Russian fighter, so she definitely has range. Robin Blake was new to me, but his voice is super sexy and I loved the way he narrated Riggs. I will look for more of his works for sure. Told in duet narration, I highly recommend the audio.

4.5⭐️

This is book 3 in this trilogy, which is part of a much longer series, and we've just scratched the surface. This was a lot darker and more intense when compared to the first two books. I'm new to J.A. Huss's work, so her end-of-book shit gave me an understanding that this is how dark her books usually are, and Book 1 and 2 in this series were an exception with the fluff they had, and things will only get darker the deeper we get into this series. The world created in this series is truly something else. It really pulls you in and keeps you hooked and invested in finding out more while also rooting for these characters.

This book follows Clover Bradley and Riggs. Clover is having the worst day of her life—she was fired from her job and kicked out of her cottage in Bishop. With nowhere else to go, she decides to return to her home in Disciple while she figures out the next step. What she doesn't expect is to find that the house isn't empty and then be taken hostage in her own childhood home.

Riggs has been assigned a task that he absolutely cannot fail. After being punished for his treason by spending six years in the tunnels, Riggs has no choice but to ensure this job goes without a hitch, or it could very well be the end for him. So when Clover walks into the house he's squatting at while he completes his task is a huge issue for him, especially given her relation to Collin Creed.

Clover has limited time to figure out a way to save herself before Riggs is done with whatever he has set out to do. She does try whatever she can—fight, run, scream, and comply. Even with all the gruesome threats aimed her way by Riggs, she still can't seem to keep herself in check and lashes out at him. However, Riggs eventually feels some sort of attachment towards Clover after spending all that time with her and in her home, where he can see her life documented, and decides to find a way to save her after all. But at the same time he wants to be sure that it doesn't blow up in his face and jeopardize his assignment, so he decides to keep her close to him.

As they come up with this plan, it becomes vital for them to trust each other so they can both survive because if anyone finds out the truth, they'd both be dead or worse. This was a pivotal moment given how things had started for them, and it was a great ask to trust the person who kidnapped you and held you captive. This turn of events was definitely interesting, and they started working together rather than against each other, and though it was chaotic, it also felt like it was a smooth transition between them, all things considered.

This book digs deeper (quite literally) into the underground military base, which is basically an underground city and one of many, and we see firsthand just how well these operations have been running for decades. It does answer some questions that were raised in book 2, but there's still so much to uncover as we slowly move to the center of this web.

I liked how Clover and Riggs's new, fragile relationship/partnership was put to the test, which was kind of intense, and I was nervous to see how the two would come out of it. Whether they'd stand united or crumble under all the scrutiny and mind games, especially given what was at stake,.

Collin Creed. Just who are you? The more we start diving deeper, the more I feel like we have no idea just who he is yet, and I love it. We find out of things that link back to Book 1 and the things that were hinted in it. I really don't want to give away too much.

Let’s start out with the end of Book Sh*t! Forever! Julie’s said this is a forever series! I hated when the company world came to an end! This is just starting and it will be forever! Okay not on to the book! I don’t even know ever to start! Now the series is starting to pick up! Clover went from having a bad day to a complete Sh*t day! Riggs is in her home after she looser her job and she moved back home! He takes her out multiple times locks her in a basement and then kidnaps her into the underground saying it’s so he don’t have to kill her. Riggs is an under ground soldier who is released to test his loyalty to the people under ground! He is nuts and wants to keep the girl he kidn*pped! Let’s just say there is so much gripping the edge of your seats reading this book that you can’t stop! It is so fast paced and so telling to read! I listened to it on audio and I could not fall asleep! This world sure has created already rents room in my brain and I can’t wait to see what happens next! I love that Riggs was not mentioned in the first 2 books so it made the whole plot and story line more mysterious! I can’t wait for the next book to come out! Keep on writing Julie! I can’t get enough!

Clover as the synopsis points out is experiencing the day of all days. Life is not going easy on her at all. One could argue the same for Riggs, Clover’s uninvited and inconvenient guest.

I enjoyed the banter between Clover and Riggs. Clovers perception of time was a crack up!

Some more plot twists and consequent revelations about the Trinity community add to the overarching storyline in this new Ja Huss world.

Well this book finished up with one heck of a pseudo car chase, only there was no car, just a horse and a race against time but the result was the same - a heart-pounding, desperate race to save the day!

This now makes for three books in as many days and I can see me going for day #4 without hesitation!

I was able to read/listen to this book early as a member of JA Huss’ Patreon group. A chapter a day was released and it really amplified the story and built the tension. The set up for the book is that it’s a captive romance where Clover unexpectedly comes across Riggs in her childhood home. In order to keep her from telling anyone that she’s seen him, he takes her hostage. This is the 3rd book in the Sacred Trinity series and it’s been so much fun getting to know this new world of characters. I love the story between Clover and Riggs and getting to know even more about the lesser known aspects of the towns.

If ever there was a book that I wish was longer at the end it is this one. I was definitely not ready to say goodbye to Clover & Riggs because this was probably my favorite of the series so far. Julie calls this “Captive Romance Lite” so if you like some kidnapping with semi-good intentions I think you’d like this.

Oh the Twists and Turns

Something deeper is afoot in these hills and this third book really starts to scratch at the surface and below. I can always count on Author JA Huss to create a world that eventually pulls the reader under to a deliciously dark place, and now here we are. I was totally invested in the first 2 books, but #3 has all of the hints of more sinister and mind fu*#ing drama to come! I can't wait.

4.5⭐️ I AM OBSESSED! I like it, no, I LOVED IT! The plot, the characters, everything is worth it. 😩💯

Why not 5 stars? Well, the smut scenes in this book felt a bit boring and bland. However, I still enjoyed it, and I understand that it's the third book in the series and I should have started with the first one. But with all the tension, the strangers to enemies to lovers, the push and pull between them? I think we at least deserved one mind-blowing smut scene, yeah?🥹😭😆

Anyways, if you liked the Divergent book or movie series, you'll probably enjoy this one too. I highly recommend the audiobooks; the duet narration is excellent 🤌🏻💋✨❤️💯

I did not know what to expect. First of all, because it's JA Huss, and second, because I felt like I didn't have much of an idea about Clover, unlike with the previous book's characters. Clover is a delight and Riggs seems to be her complete opposite. They form an unlikely duo for sure, especially with how things started. I won't say anything about the second half of the book as this is where things get crazy.
I enjoyed the story and shocked at the turn in took, but looking forward to more!

This wasn’t memorable at all. A guy out on a mission after spending 6 years in darkness and a h who got randomly fired from her job went back home.. it had hints of darkness but quickly became mild and even though it had action it was boring…

Audiobook Experience

Okay, Riggs and Clover, here we go! From the first moment, this book had me hooked. Riggs is from an underground base, working toward his freedom on the surface. His mission is simple, but then she walks in—Clover, the woman who owns the house he's squatting in. He can’t afford witnesses. So what does he do? Grabs her, ties her up, and throws her in the basement. And from there? The chaos, the tension, the chemistry—everything—just escalates.

Likes:

✔ Dark romance gold – Captivity, forced proximity, and slow-burning tension? Say less. The way their relationship builds from pure survival to something so much deeper? Chef’s kiss.

✔ The banter – These two go back and forth like a damn tennis match, and I loved every second of it. The sass, the teasing, the denial—it made everything feel so real.

✔ The tension and pacing – There wasn’t a single slow moment. Every chapter had me holding my breath, waiting to see what would happen next.

✔ Riggs – Broody, dangerous, a total ass, but also soft in the most unexpected ways. His whole underground backstory, the trauma, the power struggles—it made him such a layered, fascinating character.

✔ Clover – She didn’t just sit there and take her situation; she fought, she adapted, and she challenged Riggs at every turn. We love a sharp-minded, fearless heroine.

✔ Collin Creed & Amon – I need more of them. Immediately.

Dislikes:

✘ Hattie – Fucking Hattie. Absolutely not. I wanted her gone the second she walked in with her possessive, manipulative bullshit.

✘ The emotional whiplash – One moment, I was swooning, the next I was screaming. I wasn’t ready for some of those plot twists.

✘ The anxiety this book gave me – But let’s be honest, I loved every second of it.

Favorite Quotes & Thoughts:

"This guy is my age. Maybe a little bit older, but not much. He’s young. Which means, like all men, he’s horny and his dick controls his life. If I want to control him, then all I have to do is control his dick."
Clover understood the assignment.

"The blindfold stays. If you touch it, you’re dead. If it even accidentally falls down, you’re dead. If that blindfold moves in any way, you’re dead. Do you understand me?"
My dark romance heart was thriving at this moment.

"I don’t even like you. Taking a shower with you would be like taking a shower with a whore. Something owed. Something meaningless. Something to be forgotten."
YIKES. That one hurt, and I felt Clover’s reaction in my soul.

"You fancy yourself a Collin Creed, do ya? Because that’s what a nine point seven five looks like, Riggs."
Collin is a 10/10 and I accept nothing less.

"Come on, my little pet. Let’s go."
Say what you want, but I love this kind of dynamic.

And then we got to the SPICE—finally!

“I’ll come back for you, Clover. And then we’ll have time.” “Time for what?” “To fall in love, of course.”
TEARS. ACTUAL TEARS.

Then the plot exploded. Hattie’s betrayal, Riggs’ father, the torture, the absolute chaos of it all—my anxiety was through the roof. And then finally, Clover getting to him just in time. My heart couldn't take it.

"Behind the rumble comes the glory’ is about stickin’ it out. ‘The echo on the water’ is all the things behind you. All the things that make you you. But the part I think about most these days is ‘the comfort in the brave.’ Because that’s who we are. We are the brave. But not because we do heroic things. We’re the brave because we have each other. And that’s all we need. It is the ‘we’ that gives us comfort. Out there is the damage. Out there is the danger. Out there they are nothing but angry liars. In here is where we find grace.”
Collin Creed was made for that moment.

Final Thoughts:

I CANNOT stress enough how obsessed I am with this series. The underground city, the military setup, the betrayals, the romance—every single part had me on edge. If this were turned into a show, I’d be glued to the screen. The Danger in the Damage cannot come soon enough. April 11th, get here NOW.

This is the 3rd book in the Sacred Trinity Series, it’s a standalone story, but the reader will definitely find more enjoyment from reading the other two books in order first to follow along with the all of the side character stories.

This story focuses on the Clover Bradley, Smart Mouth Heroine, a high society event planner, that’s been working in Virginia for the last seven years, at The Dixie Yonder hotel, and living in a small cozy cottage on the grounds. She grew up just outside of Disciple, West Virginia and bought her childhood mansion home, that’s she’s been renovating.

She’s having a terrible day, she’s been fired from her job, kidnapped by an intruder in her own home and now she is starting to have feelings for her captor and trying to understand why he’s really doing all of this, because she has a feeling that Riggs might be a good guy.

Riggs Russell, Morally Grey Hero, is holding a lot of secrets, he grew up down below Blackberry Hill, West Virginia in the tunnels. He is attracted to Clover and he finds himself growing more and more attached to her as each day passes & can start to actually see a life together with her and he knows that these are very dangerous thoughts to have, because Riggs has a job to do and there’s no room for error or complications, like Clover Bradley 💕

I’m a member of JA Huss Patreon, where she shares her stories with her members early so, I’ve been reading along a chapter at a time, which is incredibly difficult for a serious reader. I was able to finish reading this book when she gave us a final copy a few days ago.

I also listened to the audiobook on Audible and the narrator’s: Samantha Summers and Robin Blake and they both do an excellent job with their voices bringing you into this world.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I am definitely looking forward to reading more stories in this world full of action, intrigue, adventure and romance ♥️

Riggs was a new character we meet in this third book of the Sacred Trinity series, and he really started out as a conundrum for me. Was he really a bad guy? Or was he a good guy that was stuck in a really bad position? And poor Clover! The day she thought was going to start off so promising really turned out to be the worst day ever.

In amongst everything that was happening with Riggs and Clover, Julie continues to weave a whole world, underground in this case, that the people in Trinity County have no clue about. At least most of them don't. Collin Creed and his Edge Security team are quickly getting clued in as to what has been going on underneath their noses all along.

I really enjoyed the relationship between Riggs and Clover. Did it start out the conventional way? Heck no! But Clover, being the people person she is, quickly saw behind the mask that Riggs kept in place. His background was not one I would have ever guessed. Even though he treated Clover horribly in the beginning and threatened her life countless times, he turned out to be someone else entirely, and I loved the dynamic between the two.

As is typical Julie, this story was going along at a nice steady pace and them bam! Chaos ensues, all kinds of stuff happens, Collin is....Collin, there's guns and dogs and the call to Revival and it was glorious! Some things happened that made me sad, but it's a tough world and bad things happen.

I wish the end was a bit longer, but I'm excited to see where Julie takes this world next. She's already said it will be a never-ending series so there's so many possibilities!

This new series by JA Huss will be released one trilogy at a time. This first trilogy laid out the settings of the Sacred Trinity area in West Virginia. We first met Lowyn McBride and Collin Creed in The Rumble and the Glory mostly set in Disciple, West Virginia and learned about the weekly Revival in which every citizen of the town participates playing their roles and earning their shares.
Next in book two we watch Amon Parrish woo single mom Rosie Harlow as she plays her part in the Revival, dresses as a Flo-esqe waitress at her part time job in Revenant, and prints her Lonely Hearts paper while wearing a late 1800s gown at her print shop in Bishop.

In each of the first two books we had glimpses that all was not what it seems, but book three delves into the hidden world as Riggs Russell kidnaps Clover Bradley and takes her into a world she should never have seen. And yet there's still more to uncover as this trilogy ends. I would not say that there is a cliffhanger. Riggs and Clover's story is resolved by the end of the book. There are remaining questions about some characters and secrets we learned about in this story which I'm sure will be resolved in later books.

I highly recommend all of JA Huss's books. Huss is excellent at writing well developed characters and especially in the Sacred Trinity series she's created an area in West Virginia where I'd love to visit. As secrets are revealed I'm not sure I'd want to live there, but I still definitely want to attend the Revival and the tea parties in Disciple! I'd love to be best friends with Rosie! I can't wait for the next books of this series to release!

Ok so in my last review I said “going to listen to 3 and final book” I forgot that I read on Julie’s blog that she said this was never going to end.
I am picking this world/towns are going to be like her books about “The Company”. That ended up being 4 series all intertwining together but all could be read as stand-alone
With that being said I am defiantly going to have to relisten to these and take notes, I loved doing a family tree and working out the little easter eggs Julie drops throughout her books.
I am so glad that I push past the 1st book in this series as I really enjoyed this one. You can see more of what I have known Julie for, a little darker than the 1st book. (but still tame for what she normally does)
There was a lot explained and solved in this book but there are still unanswered question which is exciting as you know more stuff is coming.
Julie still takes the time in this books to describe characters and even what they are wearing. This book she kept this shorter than the 1st book so it didn’t slow the plot and pacing of the story.
The narrators were great as always, spice was there but still on the lower side.
Riggs could have been portrayed differently, like hard core bad boy, but for some reason Julie didn’t take that route. I think I would have liked that more, since I love me a bad boy!

In end of book shit (EOBS) Julie said there was more to come and in Julie’s style she said she is going to do a rapid release for the next series, I LOVE that she does this and I love she releases the audiobooks at the same time. Sign me up, I cant wait for more in this world

In this third installment of the Sacred Trinity series, we meet Lowyn's best friend, Clover. Clover is having a bad day, and when she gets to her family home in Disciple, her lousy day worsens. She finds a squatter in her house. Riggs is on a mission from one of the underground camps. He can't have Clover running to Lowyn, who will tell Collin about him. For self-preservation, Riggs takes Clover hostage and mistreats her until something clicks between them. Is it Stockholm syndrome or something more?

I love this world. There are so many great characters, both good and bad. Even though Riggs is a jerk initially, I knew he had a good heart in there somewhere. I love a "good" evil villain; it is even better when that villain is female. The story is a little darker than the first two books in the series. It pulled me in from the start and kept me turning the page and wanting more.

The Comfort in the Brave kept me on my toes. I knew something dreadful would happen from the beginning, but I didn't know what. Let's say I was on the right path but completely missed the left turn.

This story is for you if you are a fan of romance, suspense, and conspiracy theories. I must mention the audiobook while I'm here. I comment on every audio that Julie publishes on how she picks the perfect narrators for her stories. Well, she does it again. Samantha Summers and Robin Blake are perfect for Clover and Riggs. They are great storytellers and voice actors. These two added tremendously to my enjoyment of the book.

I can't wait for more in this series.

I have not read the first two books in the series; it stands alone, but I think it would be better to have read the first two books.

Strange underground secret military cult-society goes up against former assassin agent and the 3 small towns in the West Virginia region. In this book, the son of the general of the military secret society is freed from his prison in the tunnels they dig, and forced to go on a mission against their former agent-now-enemy (book 1). While surveilling the enemy, he squats in a dilapidated mansion. Unfortunately, the owner, a recently fired wedding coordinator, comes home unexpectedly... and he's forced to take her prisoner.

Nothing too toxic happens, but he is pretty harsh with her... at first.

Tropes:

* MF Contemporary
* Sinister small towns of West Virginia
* Secret underground military quasi-government cult
* General's son forced on a mission after spending 6 years digging in their dark tunnels for trying to escape
* Wedding coordinator fired and forced to return to her family home unexpectedly
* takes her prisoner, throws her in basement for days
* treats her harshly, tied up, threatens death
* forced proximity
* it's him or her
* he contemplates killing her
* slow bonding
* he takes her into underground military city
* enemies to lovers
* they're captured by his vengeful ex-lover
* drugging and torture (even by his own father The General)
* set up against former agent (book 1)
* unexpected aid from unexpected person
* she saves him
* HFN

Well shut the front door!.
This trilogy has it all. Book 1 sets up the world, book 2 gives us the romance side, and book 3...well it's a brilliant twist.
The story is simplicity at its best and pulled me in to hate the H and wish the h had a backbone.
Some of the characters are scary and sinister and then some are wonderful. And then at times there are some that made me want to scream. There was some sadness thrown in there and victims appear where I never thought they would.
I was trying to figure out how J. A. was going to get this to the end and I have to admit it was brilliant.
As the chapters pass, it all ratchets up and I was sitting there and I just knew I had to finish it. I got an absolute kick out of the irony that Julie wrote around the back end of the story, As well as that all 3 book names are quoted by Creed.
It was awesome to discover the reasons, whyfores and methodology behind the alphas in this trilogy.
It was a great ending to a trilogy than can actually go on as there are heaps of open ends and avenues.
Samantha Summers was terrific as Clover, her voice and tone gave her life.
I haven't listened to Robin Blake before but he did justice to Riggs.
I'm sad its ended but looking forward to an open ended series.

Clover and Riggs!
Oh boy, this book was a complete change from the previous one, The Echo on the Water, and I'm here for it! Give me all the angsty male vibes and a kick a- female any day... because this book was killing it.
I absolutely loved how we got right down to the story from the first chapter, meeting Clover, then Riggs. I loved their back and forth banter and the way they both tried to up the other. I so loved the sass Clover threw at him... it made for a very enjoyable and hot book when those tension-filled moments and spicy scenes came up.
Reading about the underground cities and just getting a taste of what goes on there just made me want to know everything about them, and after the ending I want to know what Collin and the others do with them!
It was a page-turning story that kept me engaged all the way through, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

🎧 Oh I just found new narrators. :D

🎧 I have to say by chapter four Ms. Summers has impressed me. I feel her frustration. Loved the drama of her and the way he just tells her to get a hold of herself. :D This will be fun.

🎧 Some things are never what they seem with Ms. Huss.

❗️ Disclaimer : My rants, ramblings, and incoherent thoughts might be considered spoilers by some. Also, often, I do not read trigger warnings or blurbs.

🎧 I liked their conversations about science and space and what we are told and what is true and not. It is a kidnapping story but not a heavy one I assume, so it was a pleasant listen.

🎧 Apparently this world is not going to end with these three books, which is nice because I cannot imagine where we are going next with this world.

My Mind is Blown!!

As this is book #3 in the series, you most likely know about Trinity County and the towns in WV, especially Discipline. When Clover loses her job and the cottage she was living in she returns to Discipline to her “under rehab” family home. She is not alone.

This would be enough for most authors, but no, we get fourth and fifth dimensions to this story (not sci-fi or time travel). Just complexity. Just a wrinkle that the ordinary person would not even fathom. I can’t really say more, or I will give it away, and it is waaaaay too good to ruin it for you.

Just know you really need to read this book and this series. Really.

Clover and Riggs are the main characters and narrators of Comfort of the Brave. They meet when Clover discovers Riggs squatting in her house. It is definitely not a “meet cute”. This Stockholm syndrome romance is told in dual narration by Clover and Riggs.

The plot is light but engaging enough to make me want to know how the story plays out. The dynamics between the main characters is interesting; it starts off realistic but I struggled with how quickly their relationship changes. I grew tired of the usage of drug or injury induced blackouts to end scenes and chapters.

While Comfort of the Brave was my least favorite of the series, I feel it may be an important transition book to the next book in the series.

I’m always skeptical when I see a captive romance. Even though at Clover’s first glimpse of Riggs she thought he was HOT in all of his sexy nakedness, how can a woman fall for someone who is actively treating them badly? Of course that’s only the tip of the iceberg that is this tale. Behind Clover and Riggs getting to know and trust each other is an extension of the overarching story from the previous two books. The world building takes a weird and wonderful giant leap while our unlikely couple are falling for each other. And just knowing we get more in this storyline next year leaves me with a happy sigh.

So let me start by saying that I LOVE Julie!!!!! Her writing is typical 5 stars for me. (If this is not you, then just slide on by!) However, there is one word overused in this book… it could be drinking game it came up SO much! I’m not sure if I should put it in the review lol. This story is good and I was actually delighted with the outcome, but it wasn’t quite the same caliber as the first 2 in this trilogy. I am happy I had the opportunity to enjoy this story whilst I patiently waited for Godslayer to drop. Happy reading! Grab a drink and start this in audible. You will be drunk quick 🤣

This one grips you until the end!

JA Huss writes another gripping, engaging book that I couldn't put down. I love these towns and all their strange, quirky characters and their secrets! Oh boy the secrets. This one brings you full circle on some things from the1st book, but please believe, more questions abound. Great kidnapping story. Comedy gold at times. Love the underlying trust theme in this one. Also, LOVE that this will be a forever series. I am ready to go all the way down your rabbit hole JA Huss. Loved it!

Sacred Trinity

I am so excited that this is a forever series. I am in love with this world and these characters. I live in Virginia, in the mountains, in the Bible belt, in a tiny little town and the Trinity reminds me of the area I live in. Of course, no underground cities and revival happening over here, unfortunately, but still how small town the book is and how "they" protect their own and don't want outsiders in. Lol. Anyway, I am so excited for more of this story. Clover and Riggs did not disappoint. BlackBerry Hill did not disappoint. Another fantastic read!

another great read

JA Huss again!!!! She does it again. I love JA Huss for her incredible imagination of creating a whole new world for us readers to enjoy our time in. That is what she has done for this so far trilogy. I cannot wait for the next trilogy part to come out with book 5,6, and 7. These stories are so captivating, page turning, can’t put down words that make my eyes fly off the page! I do not know how the women does it to me EVERY. DAMN. TIME. But she does. I just get so captivated in her stories; it never fails!

I'm sad Ike died.

I have really enjoyed these books. I wasn't sure how I would feel about a sweet book by JA Huss, but I loved the first 2. I think that comes down to her characters. Just love these guys and girls already. Amonn is definitely my favorite, oh I would love an Amonn for myself. Anyways, I'm excited with what's to come. I know we're going to get darker and spicier, I'm so ready for it. Characters are great, the world of disciple,etc is so interesting, and the mystery of the tunnels,all this makes for a great new world to read about. Thank you JA Huss.

Poetry

“Sacred Trinity book 3” did not disappoint. The action was fast and the romance between Clover and Riggs even faster. This story of these West Virginia towns has more mysteries than you can count. More than this a tale of suspense the authors words are beautiful poetry. The “Call to revival” and The “Revival wedding vows” are what make JA Huss one of my favorite authors. More Please! I can’t wait to continue this journey!
