Raising a glass to a wine aficionado - It’s all in the title!

Italian author Fabrizio di Rienzo now lives in Massachusetts and shares his goal in presenting this book – “to break down barriers and make wine less intimidating so that people could enjoy it without feeling judged of overwhelmed. I wanted to show that wine is not just for the elite or the connoisseurs but for everyone who loves to drink and appreciate it.’ In a book that reads like a fresh novel, di Rienzo escorts the reader through a treatise on wine that explores the history of wine, wine making, growing wine, wine and health, the bottle, the cork, the label, tasting, serving, shopping for wine and more – every aspect of enology, shared with expertise in a warmly conversational manner. From beginner to connoisseur, this valuable resource is a most welcome addition to the library!

Wine Explained is a book that introduces the reader to the exciting world of wine. At first glance, wine appears to be simply an alcoholic beverage, but it's much more than that. It encompasses so many varieties, techniques, and histories that it requires true study and dedication to produce and enjoy wine properly.

Overall, it was a fascinating read. I've always been a fan of beer (a completely different world), and lately, I've been paying attention to wine. I have to admit that it surprised me for good, especially after reading Fabrizio's expertise. Di Rienzo writes professionally, keeping the book detailed and interesting from page one until the end. A recommended read for wine connoisseurs or beginners as well.

Interesting

I need to admit that I'm not an expert in wine. Eventhough I've always had a lot of curiosity about this topic. I'm convinced that knowing about wine is necesary; it is one of those topics that make people very interesting and for sure, let people enjoy other pleasures of life like food. However, this book, which is truly an easy to understand guide for those of us who are not wine experts, takes the reader on a great journey through this fascinating topic that is so appealing. If you want to learn about a new subject, this book is perfect. Great book highly recommended!

Comprehensive and pleasantly readable – takes all the intimidation out of the picture.

Wine Explained is a comprehensive and extraordinarily readable question-and-answer style guide to all things wine by Fabrizio Di Rienzo, “The Modern Maitre D & Sommelier,” noted speaker, and trainer. With his personable delivery, the author makes his explanations easy to understand without the intimidating pretension that is often encountered by wine novices when asking the experts about the basics, making wine something everyone can enjoy and not just those already in the know. Including history and lesser-known facts as well, this book is perfect no matter where one is in their knowledge of wine; there was just so much of interest and value here.

I highly recommend WINE EXPLAINED for anyone who has questions about wine and would like to know more.
