Overall I enjoyed this book! It was fun to have the FMC be the bad girl with the troubled past instead of it being the traditional MMC with those attributes. I also really appreciate the real life issues that both Polly and Luca had to overcome. This always helps me as a reader connect to the characters a lot better.

I felt like there was some really good character growth for not only Polly, but for Luca as well. I also really enjoyed the redemption arc that Polly got. I haven’t read the first 3 books in this series so I know there are some backstory to some of these characters involved in this book that I haven’t gotten yet, but the author did a really good job giving me enough information within this book that I never felt like I had to go back and read the first 3 books to understand what was going on.

You’ll enjoy this book if you like:
•Dual POV
•Hockey Romance
•Vacation Romance
•Redemption
•Good boy/Bad girl
•Marriage of Convenience

I’d like to thank Bindi Kennedy and Bookish Bubbly PR for the advanced reader copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Title: Trouble in Love
Author: Bindi Kennedy
Genre/s: Small town / hockey romance
My format: eBook 📱#ARC

This was my first book by this author, so I knew nothing of th character’s backstories - and I am unsure if this meant I held our FMC in a different regard than some others might? (cause tbh, the ‘villain’ of this book was NOT her!) I went into this without many expectations, and boy, was I impressed.

There was so much banter, romance, spice, and EMOTIONS all balances together so well. Both MCs were healing from previous experiences and it definitely got me in my feels a couple of times…

A friend said in their review:
“Polly and Luca go through a lot in this book, both separately together, and I loved reading as they broke down each other's walls and gave their relationship a chance after their exceptionally hot first night together. I really enjoyed that it was a reverse grumpy/sunshine, and that the marriage of convenience aspect took a little longer to get to. Again, praise to the wider cast of characters in not only creating some fantastic moments of laughter, but for giving the chance to see the MCs grow. And the little twist near the end? I honestly did not see that one coming!”
And I honestly could not put it any better if I tried… I think my one-and-only critique was that it was hinted at that the two main characters were polyamorous a couple of times but it quickly became a monogamous relationship (once it started) and the poly comments weren't really addressed.

I will definitely be going back to read the rest of the series!

Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me. I had a hard time trying to get into the story, some of it might be because I haven’t read the previous books in the series (even though when I signed up this one was marketed as an interconnected standalone).

I personally didn’t feel the chemistry between the main characters. Also Luca drooling over anyone with two legs was just weird for me. The pacing was fast and felt like the story just kept jumping from one thing to another without proper explanation and/or time to experience things.

Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.

This was the first book I ever read by the author and the fourth in her West Village series.

The story was filled with dynamic banter, romance, spice, and emotion. The characters grew and helped one another grow throughout the story. I really appreciated that there is always more to the story than when you are first told it. This fits Polly to a t, and Luca was willing to see the whole story.

The twist at the end…oh my!

I will definitely be picking up the first three books in the West Village series.

The book has several trigger topics, and I suggest you read the trigger warnings first.

Thank you to @bookishbubbly.pr and Bindi Kennedy for an ARC of this book.

This is a little side quest of another series that Bindi has, BUT if you haven’t read her West Village Series that’s okay, but you’ll want to after you finish this book because Oh my word. So much happens in this book and it’s a whole roller coaster. My favorite character is definitely Polly because it’s so easy to relate to her and *unfortunately* understand exactly where she’s coming from and why she does what she does. It makes me happy that there are also people that support Luca and Polly while they’re both on their journey to get their life together.

I adored this book and fell in love with Polly and Luca. Both were going through tough times when they met, but their chemistry was undeniable from the start. Luca was determined to be with Polly, even though she struggled with feeling unworthy of him. Together, they helped each other heal from their pasts, bringing out the best in one another. While the story touches on some heavier themes, it's still sweet and full of spice. It's definitely a must-read!

The sweetest hockey player down on his luck meets a 'bad' girl one night while on holiday. It's a story of truly being the person you are. The spice is alive with Luca and Polly. Though they have to get through some hurdles they come together to help each other. And maybe in the end find what both really need.

ARC review. I had a hard time getting into this book and I felt like I was missing a ton of extra information not having read the beginning of the series. It took my multiple tries to get going on it as well. I felt the bisexuality aspect for Luca was too over the top, like drooling over everyone all the time and making him out to be a slut for just everyone instead. Overall, I did end up enjoying the book despite the false starts and missing info from the other books.

Luca is the ultimate golden retriever book boyfriend

I’ve honestly been staring at my screen for a hot minute trying to figure out how to express all the feelings I had over this book. I still don’t have a solid way to do that, so I’ll just keep it short and sweet.

Luca is the ultimate golden retriever MMC, with a dash of dirty talking to round things out. I adored him from the beginning and he only got better as the book went on.

Polly will probably be hit or miss for some people given some of her past choices, but I empathized with her on more things than I’d care to admit, and I really did love her too.

Throw the two of them together, add in a marriage of convenience, some redemption, healing, and spicy times, and you’ve got another fantastic book by Bindi.

Teddy was also, unsurprisingly, my very favorite side character (seriously he’s the best ever).

Overall I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it

It's been a while since I read a book that could. be anyone's daily life.
Luca (MMC) is dealing with suspension, being outed, and heart break. Polly (MFC) is trying to hide her hurt by being the bad girl. Put these two together and you have one explosive relationship.
This is the fourth book in the series, while you don't have to read the others, I would definitely recommend it.
Check your trigger warnings. They do go through some serious issues.

4.5 stars!

My first hockey romance ! Whew!!!!

This is book 4 in the series and can be read as a standalone. Now that I have read this one I will definitely be reading the previous 3 since I enjoyed this one so much, I have high expectations for the others and can’t wait to read about the other characters!!

Now let’s get into this book! Hockey player romance , from what I’ve heard are always sexy and spicy. Yup it was. Very. I was honestly so shocked haha. I did not expect that but I loved it, if you love smutt I think you will enjoy this one…. There were many scenes of spice! Sometimes I wish there was more romance and “falling in love” but regardless that was not an issue for me.

The story itself was cute ! I love a good romance book and when characters find their “person”.

Luca: the famous hockey star, bi sexual, just coming out, falls easy , thinks he’s in love, heartbroken, childhood trauma, wants to settle down , always horny that leads him to bad decisions lol, “daddy”, heart of gold, caring. I think I liked his character the best between the two just because of how caring and loving and supportive he is., not just of Polly but of his family and friend as well.

Polly aka Jasmine: loves sex with Luna and other partners, also bi sexual , wants no strings attached because of her past , has high expectations and guilt by her mother, experiences trauma , very low self esteem, self sabotages, sassy bad ass. I enjoyed her character as well, I love the sassy bad ass side of her that she has 0 fucks if someone is rude to her.

I love Ana as well , the bad ass protective sisters. And Martha i believe is her name.. Lucas mother! She is so funny!! , Polly’s dad was so cute and caring too .. another character I enjoyed alot.

As for the friends there was ALOT of them , I had a hard time figuring out who was who and whose kids belonged to who… I honestly still don’t know .. oops. But being side characters it is ok !

Towards the end of the book things get a lot more serious and suspenseful , I love this part it was the perfect touch to the endings. 100% Karma!

This book has many representations which I appreciate greatly in the book community. Being able to relate and be recognized is an awesome factor to have. This book showcases a lot of sexualities within the LGBTQ2S+ community as well as other lifestyles which I’m sure will be appreciated by readers. As well there are mentions of disabilities and disorders and topics of grief , loss , infertility, ptsd, self harm, eating disorder, sexual abuse, bullying, to name a few off the top of me head. Personally , although could be a trigger to some .. I do enjoy sensitive topics as it brings emotion and relatability to my reading experiences.

My first book from Bindi and I enjoyed it a lot. Thank you for trusting me with my review and giving me an ARC , I appreciate it so much ! All my opinions are honest and based off my personal reading experience :)

Overall I think this book is a great read. It was pretty fast paced and held my attention. Would recommend! :)

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🔥 (3,5)

Trouble In Love is a heartwarming and inspiring contemporary romance that explores themes of self-discovery, forgiveness, and the power of love to help us grow beyond our past. The story follows Luca, an NHL hockey star recently jilted at the altar in favour of his teammate, and Polly, a small-town woman who’s been run out of town for her promiscuity and is now trying to escape the ghosts of her past. Both characters are at difficult crossroads in their lives, but their instant chemistry and undeniable connection spark a journey of healing and growth.

Kennedy masterfully tackles topics like romantic preference, infertility, and hints of neurodivergence, weaving them into the storyline in a way that feels organic and meaningful. Polly and Luca’s relationship is passionate from the start—their chemistry practically leaps off the page. Luca, with his sweet yet confident demeanor, is incredibly endearing. He’s very ADHD-coded, full of energy and warmth, yet maintains an irresistibly sexy edge. Polly’s insecurities and emotional baggage make her relatable, and it’s beautiful to see how Luca’s unwavering support allows her to find strength in herself rather than relying on someone to "fix" her.

As Trouble In Love is book 4 in Kennedy’s series, fans of the previous books will enjoy the return of a large, supportive cast, with couples from earlier stories now happily settled with families. However, Kennedy breaks away from more traditional relationship dynamics in this book, diving into LGBTQ and initially non-monogamous themes (although the couple does end up monogamous) with grace and nuance, giving the series a fresh and modern twist.

What makes Trouble In Love particularly special is its message: that true love isn’t about being "rescued" but about finding someone who will stand by your side as you heal and grow. This mature and uplifting sentiment gives the book emotional depth, making it not just a steamy romance, but a truly meaningful story about forgiveness, acceptance, and love.

Though the book touches on some heavier topics, it remains an enjoyable and delightful read that balances the emotional moments with fun, tension-filled romance. Kennedy’s mastery of pacing and her ability to build romantic tension is on full display here, making Trouble In Love a must-read for anyone who loves contemporary romance with heart, heat, and a whole lot of charm.

“Kid, you are going to get so much pussy you’ll need to buy a scratching post”
“I’m wrecking you like you wrecked me”
“Unable to decide which version of myself I should be, the cold hearted bitch or the girl with a newly discovered praise kink”
“She’s got no concept of the accelerated obsession rate of queers”
“With me, you trust. With me, you never need to be afraid”

Firstly, I’ve never read something from an Aussie author that I didn’t love. That’s straight up biased but it’s also true! I could be the familiarity in the locations or it could be the easy writing style of Bindi’s that had me unable to put this book down!
Polly is a hard nut to crack and Luca… Luca is like a cashew in the rain… but together they’re peanut butter perfection! Chefs kiss!
Polly (FMC) has had such a hard life and as a result is feisty, bitchy and living in survival mode when she happens across Luca (MMC) a disgraced NHL player on vacation in Australia – from there it’s a funny, spicy, intense, emotional ride on the Hair Raiser (Aussie theme park ride)
The highs brought me up and I was giggling and kicking my feet and the lows had my throat all tight with tears!
It has the happily ever after Polly (me) deserves after everything she’s been through (what I read)
I also love a book with a grumpy gal instead of the typical grumpy man and even if Polly coped some negative feedback in the first book, I found her character to be really real, raw and relatable!
This book deals with a lot of heavy topics so please check the trigger warnings and a huge commendation to Bindi for showing another representation of a happily ever after that does not include child birth/ children and for highlighting very valid female reproductive health issues. 10/10

Check CWs before reading.

This book... I went in expecting a sweet yet spicy romance between an American NHL player and an Australian, "bad girl" FMC (add onto this the fact this is my first book by Kennedy, so I knew nothing of previous mentions of our FMC).

What I got was a book filled with banter, romance and spice that balanced each other perfectly; with MCs both healing from their own separate pasts; which made me feel all the emotions, shed more than one tear (which is huge, because I NEVER cry when reading, and pretty sure the waterworks happened at least five times); with wonderful storytelling and an amazing supporting cast of characters.

I won't lie, I had to pause a few times during reading because I saw a lot of myself in Polly - some of which I can't exactly say, because spoilers, but for an author to pick apart exactly how a person feels going through some of the things their character is going through shows just how amazing at their craft they are. As I said in a message to Kennedy - "thank you for making us not so whole people feel seen and valid" (and cue me tearing up as I write this).

Polly and Luca go through a lot in this book, both separately together, and I loved reading as they broke down each other's walls and gave their relationship a chance after their exceptionally hot first night together. I honestly did not see that one coming!

I'll definitely be doubling back to read the other three books in this series! Kennedy has definitely made a new fan in me.

I have read many (MANY) hockey romances. But this was the first book that I have read by Bindi Kennedy. This is the fourth book in the series but they are all standalones. I didn’t feel that I needed to have read the previous books to get into this story. I found that I was still engaged in the story and found the characters captivating. The chemistry between the two was spectacular. They are two people who have been hurt and are shaped by their past before meeting each and finding their person. This book is sweet and emotional, with just enough drama to make the story interesting. I felt a connection to both characters, with both of them struggling to be who they really are when there are people in their lives who want them to be someone else.

Polly is strong and sassy. She is different than what you typically expect to see in a contempory romance. She isn’t the sweet and demure FMC. I feel like she is one of those characters that some will love and connect with and others will seriously dislike her. Luca is the loveable golden retriever hockey player. There were times when my heart broke for him but I also love a sweet guy that can also be very dirty 😉. I never want someone to be forced to come out because it is such an extremely personal thing and I just want to be there for him. Both of these characters showed extreme growth throughout the book and their journey was captivating to read.

One of the best things about this book is the LGBTQIA representaion. This book was a great example of how even though someone ends up in a hetero relationship, it doesn’t not erase their sexuality, something that bisexual people often battle. The attractions and the life experiences that are unique to queer people is not erased just because someone ends up with a person of the opposite sex.

This book flowed nicely and had a great amount of spice. It was emtional but still a sweet hockey romance.

Early on I wasn’t sure how things would play out and I was bit indifferent about some of the characters. Mind you, I have not read the other books in the series, so I was coming into this completely blind. But I am so glad I did finish it. It turned out to be a great read and I think the character development was really strong by the end.

I think that some of the characters were really developed well. I love teddy and his banter with Luca. You can tell there was true friendship and love there for sure. I think Teddy had me laughing the most out of all of the characters. I wasn’t too fond of Polly at certain points, but she started to grow on me after learning about her trauma. I felt bad for her and really wanted her to win. Polly's mom can go kick rocks if I'm being honest.

There was a lot of hurt in this story and I think thats where a lot of the story really existed. Please read the warnings beforehand so that you know what you are reading. I did cry at a few points. With Luca it was very much part of his engagement prior to everything, but also some of the media issues he faced. It definitely felt real and I would say that it was developed in a way that was really specific.

I loved the inclusivity of it all! I do love that his team really loved him for who he was. You don’t always see that in these situations so it was nice to see how his team still welcomed him.

Overall, I really liked reading this book. It was such a different approach to the story and I think Bindi is an amazing writer. Thank you Bindi for this read! I definitely recommend you try this book out. It may not be for everyone, but I think it’s worth the read.

Okay wow I loved all the other books in The West Village Series,
But Polly & Luca have my heart!
Luca is a Bi Hockey player, who goes on a vacation to get away from the press, and a recent break up. Polly has always felt like she’s the outsider , the black sheep so to speak, but under her tough grumpy mask you’ll see who she really is, a girl that’s been through so much, and hurting.

But when Luca & Polly meet that all changes; they see each other for who they really are. Luca sees Polly as who she truly is,and she sees Luca.💜
I loved seeing them together, and those spicy scenes oooff!!
The Chemistry and tension was palpable!
I loved that the spice wasn’t overly done and the plot worked cohesively together.

I loved seeing the character development of Both Polly & Luca, and seeing both their characters shine, I love that Luca doesn’t listen to what others say or he’s heard about Polly he truly gets to know they real her so to speak. Their love and connection is so I don’t think I have the words to describe it.
The characters were so relatable, the highs and lows each had me giggling and kicking my feet, but the lows had me crying, and heartbroken for both of these characters.

Also the way these characters embraced themselves and who they are, made it so much more relatable, I felt like I was there with these characters at times.

This book does deal with a lot of heavy topics so please read the trigger warnings!

Thank you so much to BBPR & Bindi Kennedy for this ARC.

This is a 4.5 star read for me

If you love broken characters, reverse age gap, sweet & spicy, hockey and a feisty FMC this one might be for you.

This is my first Bindi Kennedy book,

I’m so glad I got to meet Polly in her book. It gave us the opportunity to see from her point of view, the reasons why she was feisty, prickly, grumpy, lonely and broken and why she did what she did.

Luca really wore his heart on his sleeve, he was a golden retriever. He definitely falls first and hard, something Ana made him aware of.. His battles with the relationship he had with his father and dealing with being outed bi-sexual in an incredibly male alpha sport.

Polly and Luca came together as broken people trying to deal with their pasts and their demons. Both seeking approval and love that never seemed to come their way.
Polly’s mother and Luca’s father were truly horrible.

As Luca deals with the fallout from being outed and his injury he goes to Australia with friends. He meets Polly/Jasmine at a club, from that night their magnetic pull was strong. Friendships, enemies, pasts, betrayals, their own walls and lost phones weren’t big enough obstacles to keep them apart.

I enjoyed Trouble with Love immensely, I recommend giving it a read, but do check the Trigger/Content warnings.

I received an ARC copy of Trouble in Love, Thank you to Bindi Kennedy

I absolutely adored the characters in this one! They added so much entertainment value and brought me many laughs. I loved all of the queer representation and inclusions of all kinds of relationships. I hope we get to see more straight-presenting relationships showing their true queer colors. That said, I really despise the people who are essentially slut shaming Luca in their reviews. He doesn't lust after everyone, I don't know what book you read, it isn't this one.

I felt like it was well-balanced with happy moments, hockey, tension, character growth, and overall shenanigans. I am always down for a book with shenanigans. It was a wonderful blend of light-heartedness with the emotional depth to make the characters matter. They are flawed and hurt by their past, which isn't swept under the rug as if everything is sunshine and rainbows.

This book most definitely has spice because half the point is learning about different kinds of relationships and encounters. If you don't like spice, this isn't the book for you.

Overall, this was an entertaining read with depth and complicated relationships. If you like a sprinkle of sports in your angsty romance, this is the book for you.

I received this book as an arc from Bookish Bubbly PR. My review is honest and voluntary.

This story was a bit confusing. I haven't read the ones before it so I think that made it complicated for me. There was a lot of movement going on in the story that wasn't super clear. I had to read it a few times to follow. But the story was a good one. It had a good plot, and I enjoyed the characters. The few that I was able to connect too.

I love a good sport romance, these two were cute. And stubborn. It was good to see them grow within each other. See how their trust slowly builded up to something more. Polly's reputation was something that could've been avoided if anyone had bothered to check in on her. See what really happened. It didn't help that her defense mechanism was self sabotage. Luckily she found her man who wouldn't allow her to do it. Not without a fight.

Clara is a manipulative woman. I thought she was wholesome. After what she did. I was shook. Luca was a sweet boy who genuinely wanted a good life. From being wrongfully outed to being left at the alter. They put him through the ringer. He was a good guy who just wanted to play hockey and maybe find someone to spend his retirement with. As a bisexual woman, we love that both the FMC and MMC were both Bi. Love the representation. And the representation of the aftermath of a unsuspecting outing.

This was a good story. I do advice to read the others first. To avoid the same confusion I had.

Trouble in Love, book 4 of the West Village series, follows Luca, a troubled NHL player, and Polly, the black sheep of, well, everything, as they try to piece together their messy lives. Luca’s world crumbled after being left at the altar by his fiancée, who ran off with one of his teammates. Publicly outed, suspended, and injured from a fight on the ice, he's feeling lost. Polly, on the other hand, is no stranger to tough times either—constantly criticized by her mother and disliked by pretty much everyone.

Luca is forced to get away, so he joins Teddy and Asher's trip to Australia to meet Finn, Scarlett, Nate, and Evie. One night out, he meets Polly, sparks fly, and they hit it off... except Polly gives him a fake name. Thinking she’d never see him again, she moves on—until their paths cross again. And again.

The catch? Luca’s friends hate Polly for things she’s done in the past. But no matter how complicated things get, Luca and Polly keep finding their way back to each other. They balance each other out in ways neither expected. Both are dealing with a lot, and it’s easy to see why they’d have trust issues.

The big question: Do Luca and Polly have what it takes to overcome their baggage and realize they’re good enough for each other? You’ll have to read to find out! Sure, it’s a bit on the longer side, but so much happens—and the ending won’t disappoint. Trust me, you won’t want to put it down!

First thank you to Bindi and Bookish Bubbly PR for the ARC! Second all thoughts and opinions are my own. 4.5 out of 5 for me!

Quick takes - golden retriever hockey player, Australia beach vay-hab, grumpy FMC that you come to love, and friends everyone deserves to have. Who wouldn’t want to hide away in this romantic world?

I cannot tell a lie - Luca became a quick favorite for me from the get. His golden retriever personality was a dream come true and is something I will aspire to find for myself. Polly was also such a great character that I could relate to on so many levels especially with the internal monologue and thoughts that can be so, so mean. This book was the perfect lead up to hockey season for me and I ate it up. I couldn’t stop thinking about it and needed it like air some days. The almost insta-love was a little much for me as was the build up to the marriage of convince but really - it was so worth it. If anything the book has me wanting to book a trip to Australia next summer in hopes of running into my own golden retriever hockey player! I will say the ending threw me for a loop but had me at the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen and helped to balance out the romance side of everything.

“You are the poison I can’t resist.”

Thoughts 💭

I loved this book so much I will have to read the other books in this series. All the characters were so lovable, Polly is so strong and I love how she doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her. Luca is the perfect golden retriever boyfriend and I just think they are such a great pairing. There was SO much chemistry here!! I did feel like it was rushed a little fast but it makes sense with what’s happening and the timeline the characters have. I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a spicy hockey romance with amazing characters and a deeper plot.

Luca is on vacation in Australia after a few incidents in his life and NFL career. He meets Polly, a feisty and somewhat b*tchy woman, and fireworks happen.

This story covers a lot of deep and heavy topics, which will have you in tears but it also brings the laughs, spice and banter that Bindi’s writing always delivers. Check your trigger warnings before diving in.

I was lucky enough to Beta read this one, and love how the final edit turned out. I love the development of Polly’s character, and learning about what was behind her b*tchy persona. The way Luca never gives up on her is admirable and let’s be honest, hot. Together these two steam up the pages.

This is a good boy meets bad girl, holiday romance with marriage of convenience, forbidden romance and hockey in it as well. Trouble is the fourth book in the West Village series and although it is a standalone, you will definitely get more out of it if you read the others. If you haven’t read the other three, then what are you even doing, get to it now.

Thank you @bindikennedyauthor and @bookishbubbly.pr for the e-ARC of this story. I can’t wait to buy the illustrated and discreet cover books to add to my collection.

Trouble in Love truly exemplifies there is more than one side to every story.

We follow Polly, an Australian woman with a bad reputation, and Luca, an American hockey player with golden retriever energy. They meet by chance when Luca is on vacation in Australia, and later figure out Polly and some of Luca's friends have a sordid complicated history.

There are so many things I enjoyed about this book. Polly is a great example that there is always more to the story than first meets the eye. She has been vilified by her family and community, but there are reasons behind her actions and so much more to her than initially meets the eye. Luca is so sweet and loyal, but also doesn't write off Polly just because of what his friends say, which I love. I also love the bi representation in this book! My only critique is the pacing was a bit hit or miss. Some of the story dragged a smidge and some felt a bit rushed, but overall a fantastic fun read!

This is the first Bindi Kennedy book I've read, and I will definitely be going back and reading the earlier books in the series!

I sobbed happy tears the whole time I read this book.

Being outed in the media and being left at the alter, Luca goes to Australia with some friends to get away from all the backlash. He stumbles into a bar, and meets Polly. They agree that then hooking up will only be a one time thing. One time, turns to two, which turns into a summer of sneaking around. Both having their own reservations and demons to fight, didn’t expect to fall in love so fast.

I’m just going to say this right now. Y’all need to go read this book. It was an absolutely breathtaking book. The way Luca and Polly came together and fought their demons and problems together, that’s the way a real relationship is.

Every character was absolutely perfect. You’ll love some and you’ll definitely hate some. But they all have a perfect place in this book.

This book will always have a special place in my heart as I could relate to a lot of the characters. This story also helped me realize why I am the way I am with certain things in my life. This is definitely a book I didn’t know I needed in my life but am so glad I read it.

Polly and Luca have spent their lives hearing others tell them who they should be, causing them to hide who they really are. While heartbreaking to read what our beautiful main characters face, it is also exhilarating to be there for this snarky, sweet, and spicy love as it develops. Bindi has done an amazing job with Polly and Luca's story.

We also get plenty of time with characters from earlier books in the series, but this can still be read as a standalone. Their friendships are so fun and truly endearing. I adore Teddy and have laughed a ton at his antics with Luca (aka the hot hockey man).

The queer representation (especially bisexuality) throughout the book is great. It's so important to have that diversity. Mental health representation is also a focus. In fact, an important point from Luca and Polly's story is that even when we may not feel loveable, we truly are.

If you enjoy a diverse, spicy romance with a full cast of amazing characters, and a beautiful message, get this book!

Luca and Polly what a story! There are so many layers and so much to this story.

Luca is a bi hockey player h Dailey outed but the press, he takes some time off to decompress this and a recent break up. Polly has always felt like the mess up in life and her family.

When she meets Luca though he sees her, he listens to her and he meets her in her level. They are so good together. She is so much more caring than she gives herself credit for.

Luca and his love and all in for what he wants is so sweet! He gives Polly the world and she thrives for it!!

I hate to be any kind of spoiler reader so there is o much more to this book but this a quick view hoping to tempt you to read it too!

Absolutely ate this book up! I love the main characters Luca and Polly! I loved that the main male character was open with his sexuality and more fluid than most male characters in books seem to be, especially given that he is a famous hockey player in the book. I relate so much with Polly's character and her guarded behavior of pushing people away and feeling inadequate because I have absolutely felt that way in life, especially when I was younger. Traumatic things happen that in turn make you feel less and there for less deserving of love and happiness. I love that the book is based in both New York and Australia and that Luca got to learn a lot of the Australian lingo while abroad. I enjoyed all the characters in the book, they all felt like they really fit....even Evie. The book moved at a great pace for me with story building/character background and some plots and twists along the way and let's NOT forget the extra spicy scenes. WE LOVE a well written book with some fantastic naughty scenes included. I would and will absolutely recommend this book to others!
