Having only watched the anime, I would never have expected that the original manga would have developed the world, characters, and plot to this fine a detail. What is really striking, however, is the art. This is where Nightow shines. His panels are big, he knows how to use them dramatically, and his characters are highly detailed. His dialogue and movement between panels could use a lot of work (it's sometimes confusing to figure out what is actually happening), but the art makes up for it.

volume 10 lowkey being the most heartbreaking thing ever like whatever… there’s kind of a lot of nonsense that’s happening here (nightow’s sloppy action paneling strikes again) and i’m really trying to stay engaged now that wolfwood isn’t around but oommffgggggg the last few chapters being total bombshells #woah. very interested to see how this is going to wrap up bc like things are looking very bleak here!!!!!!!!!

Well, the moment we’ve all been dreading, but knew we’d have to face eventually. You know the one.
On the couch?
R.I.P.
The Razlo fight was great. Such kinetic action. Nightow really has a talent for fast paced action panels, movement, drawing characters in dynamic poses.
The change of heart was a little too abrupt for my liking.
While I like getting a backstory for Legato and how he joined Knives, sexual assault as a trope is pretty overdone & easy.
Also…did Zazie really have to pull the sand worm out of her…y’know.

This plot just gets more and more wild. It is now very different from the anime (both). I love the fact that the Federation Fleet shows up, and how everything gets more complicated from there. The friendship Vash shares with Wolfwood, and Wolfwoods belief in Vash finally. Yes! I am excited to see where this is going and how it is going to end.

Nightow finally reaches full realization of his vision, talents and story in this massive volume, with new touches of space opera touching down as Vash continues to push forward in his heroes journey.

We've reached the point where this is so far removed from the anime it might as well be a different story altogether. It's still very good; I'm excited for the end game.
