coming into this I knew it wasn't going to be anything special, so the rating didn't come as a surprise. the writing one the other hand.....
it sounded like what I wrote as a fourteen year old with zero experience, and there were italicized words on two out of three pages, with sometimes four instances on one page.
the four main characters, Quinn, Esme, Alicia and Nicole were constantly making rude comments toward Esme for having a "huge appetite despite hardly gaining weight." but we see at the begging of the book that Esme grew an inch in a week-which is highly uncommon, so of course she eats more than you Alicia!
speaking of Alicia; every chapter or so she exclaims in Spanish when something surprising, annoying or outraging happens. and I'm not saying that a bad thing....but as the readers we should be accenting of "inclusivity" if it means extreme cliches.
aside from those problems I enjoyed reading this book, though to be fair, I wouldn't have read if it I wasn't doing a book unhaul soon.

An okay book. Good for young girls. Short and easy to read. About a selfish redhead who betrays her friend in hopes of writing success so very realistic depiction of redheads.
