THE NEXT TARGET

Tracking a serial killer in Harmony Grove turns personal for Detective Lexi Simmons when her cousin becomes a victim. It turns nearly impossible when she's teamed up with Officer Alan White--the almost-fiance whose heart she broke six years ago. Maybe a little more. Really good story, with a strong female protagonist.

I have read mysteries most of my 67 years, and in my opinion, the only drawback to this very enjoyable book was she broke one of 'Hanscom's Rules for Reading Mysteries." However, to explain, this requires a

SPOILER ALERT

One of the rules: if there is a character in the book who keeps showing up but seems to have no real purpose in furthering the story, pay very close attention.

Carol J. Post – Out For Justice

After reading all of Carol J. Post’s previous novels, I feel that the novel holds all of the past touches that I have come to enjoy -- details that draw you in enough to make you feel that you are living the life of the characters; descriptions of settings and scenery that make it easy to imagine the world vividly; and dialogue that makes the characters believable and human – but I was concerned that this book replaced her past element of surprise with a comfortabl

This was the first book I have read by Carol J. Post. I look forward to the opportunity to read more of her books. The suspense was well written and the faith and romance were pleasing - maybe I should say just the right amount. I appreciate when authors weave their faith into the story to help the readers see how it should work out in daily life. It isn't crammed down the throats of readers but is simply lived out by the characters. Obviously not all of the characters share the same Christian v ...more

Thank you Goodreads for giving me the opportunity to widen my scope of authors. I received the book Out for Justice by Carol J. Post. I really enjoyed the freshness of this book. It starts with a murder & the rest of the story flows. It was suspense with romance; however it was not gory or had scenes in the book that were too explicit in the love between a man & woman, both of whom were police officers. It was a book that kept me guessing who the murderer was but didn't rely on suggestiv ...more

I really liked this suspense book. I love most all of them that I read. I'm glad they have the Love Inspired Suspense books. I did figure out the killer in the middle of the book. I like how the killer was placed in the book!

Romance about two cops who meet after six years apart over a crime. Added to that the female lead bears a resemblance to the victim profile. Nice romance with some thrill.
