I can never quite find the words after finishing a book to write a review, but for this one I’ll try.

House of crimson curses is devastatingly beautiful, with lines that had me broken. It was a real rollercoaster, you know the book is good when you take a sick day to finish it. This is the final book in the series and is THE perfect ending to a wonderful story, with both couples finally finding happiness.
Octavia and Red are truly legendary. No vampire and hunter will ever compare. Everyone needs an Octavia Beaumont in their lives.

I was hooked from the very first chapter of book one, the way the story twists and turns with incredible highs, tragic lows, and heartbreaking betrayals. Experiencing every emotion in between. I’ll never find the words to explain how much I enjoyed this journey.

I won’t forget this series, even if I really wish I could to experience it for the first time over again. By amazing coincidence this is my 100th sapphic book of the year, and I couldn’t have picked a better book to achieve my goal. I cant wait to see where Ruby Roe takes us next

Definitely an improvement over the second book, though it still doesn’t quite reach the heights of the first!

That said, I have to give credit where it's due—the big plot twist caught me completely off guard, and I loved that surprise. I also really enjoyed seeing where most of the characters wound up in the end; it gave the story a nice sense of closure.

And, following up on my thoughts from book two, I have to say—Red mostly redeemed herself this time around!

Well, damn! This book series was incredible and what a fantastic way to end it with House of Crimson Curses!
Ruby Roe did it again, had me invested and hooked from book one. Absolutely obsessed with the characters, the plot and the spicy! Holy hell 🥵
So many twists and turns. I went on such a rollercoaster of emotions but I loved all of it. It wrecked me in the best ways possible.
If you’ve been living under a rock and have no clue who Ruby Roe is….this needs rectified immediately. I highly recommend this series and any of her books for that matter. The Kingdom of Immortal Lovers series is in the same world as The Girl Games Series (that technically comes first on the timeline) but it can be read without that series.
You should start this series with House of Crimson Hearts, followed by House of Crimson Kisses and then House of Crimson Curses to finish.
Enemies to lovers, forbidden love, found family, blood play, straps and spicy, spicy spice!! What more could you ask for!

I loved everything about this series! This installment was especially exciting. I am going to have a major hangover after this one so will have to choose my next listen carefully.

Again I'll reiterate that the narration is SUPERB by both narrators - especially by Allie Rose who voices Octavia. She performed the hell out of this one with so much emotion. Anais Inara Chase was also terrific as Red.

There's so much in this series! Passion, angst, love, hate, longing, lust, bloodlust, mysteries to be solved, family trials and tribulations, moral dilemmas...

There is also explicit sex, so if that bothers you, I'd stay away because there's a lot of it. But you'd be missing out more than one incredible love story/romance and a hell of a well written series!

I am HOOKED on Ruby Roe's books and look forward to my next fix!

This novel, and trilogy, are awesome. To cut straight to the point. There is a solid plotline and romance, excellent worldbuilding, well developed characters and a lot of different relationship dynamics. Putting it simply, its good and you should read it.

Reader beware that this is a trilogy and needs to be read as such. None of these novels stand on their own (and are not meant to) so if you plan on reading then you should plan on reading all three books (and in order). This somewhat counts against it for me, as I like it when books in a series can stand on their own at least somewhat. I can’t imagine what this novel would be like without reading the other two first…….don’t do it.

This novel was the conclusion, and it certainly felt like it. We finally get answers and resolution to three books worth of set-up and foreshadowing, and overall, it did an excellent job of it. This novel rides high on big reveals and answers from start to finish, and the result is very satisfying. At the same time, I felt like this novel felt more forced and less organic than the previous two, as though it had to pack a lot of specific scenes together and didn’t always know exactly how they should fit. The plot excelled (as would be expected, standing on the shoulders of the other two novels), although I think it might have been some of the weakest writing (still great though. Someone had to be in last place).

I gave this one a “A“, and 5-stars. Its good, to put it simply.

So, Highlights:
-Once again, spicy. I think its clearly a main focus of these novels. The spicy scenes continue to have a bit more variety than the previous novel which is nice, and some bigger and different emotions. Still a bit repetitive at times, but considering there is something like 9 spicy scenes packed into the novel its not surprising. A few felt forced in, but eh.
-The worldbuilding. This was like a capstone project for worldbuilding that took the prior two novels and expanded them considerably. There is an entire world of settings and stories outside of the one we saw and I hope that the author chooses to tell some more of them.
-The romance is great. No spoilers; its just great. Big emotions, big payoff, big conflicts.
-The second romance!! I didn’t expect it but I’m so glad it was there. These novels really gave two stories for the price of one and I love that it was snuck in there.
-There are a lot of other relationship dynamics explored in this novel (the others too, but mostly this one). There are friendships and family dynamics and a whole list of things I can’t describe without massive spoilers. This was a very full novel in the best way.
-The plotline. I like it when a romance has a solid plotline that stands on its own, and this one delivers. I was invested to seeing how things turned out, so that’s a win!

Nitpicks:
-This novel felt a little forced at times, like the author felt like they needed to cram in certain plot points. The other two never felt that way to me, so it stood out. Some of the characters acted in frustratingly silly ways at a few points.
-Did we really need a backdoor-pilot at the end of this novel for the authors next project? I understand that its nice to set up the next thing, but I was hoping for a full resolution this time after the sheer cliffhangers of the prior two. This sort of ending was fine, but left me feeling the tiniest bit unresolved which I didn’t appreciate!

This whole series is an emotional roller coaster that I wish I could ride again for the first time.

As some of you may know House Of Crimson Hearts altered my DNA and I have to say so did this.

I was so prepared for the ending and NOT. How can you prepare to end a series you’ve fallen in love with?

This book rounded out the series perfectly. With all the mystery and cliffhangers I was genuinely wondering how Ruby Roe was going to fix it all and give it the perfect ending and let me say, she did not disappoint.

And maybe its the fact I read it in 9 hours but I cant stop thinking about it. These four (eyebrow waggle) buried themselves in my HEART and have free rent in my brain.

Ruby Roe’s writing has such deep emotion, tension and mystery that makes you want to explore deeper. Its why I’ve been mentally crying since March (because cliffhangers!)

But really this book was everything I wanted for the end of the series. I’m sad that these guys story is over but I’m so glad I got to experience it because it was beautifully written.

Ps i want to testament to my willpower for not looking ip a single spoiler

Here comes another masterpiece from Ruby

I didn’t review the first two books because I wanted to wait for the full story to share my thoughts. This series does deserve a lot of praise. This book is my favorite so far. Finally, we get answers to all the questions from the other books.

It was such a rollercoaster. Many times, I thought I had figured out the plot, but I was wrong. Even so, I wasn’t disappointed when I found out how it ended.

As always, the writing is beautiful. I was hooked from the first page and stayed up late just to finish it. I’m so happy all the soulmates got their happy endings. These characters feel so real, it’s hard to believe it’s "over."

I loved how the book showed the importance of emotional bonds, not just family by blood. That was one of my favorite parts. Octavia has been my favorite character since book one, and this book made me love her even more.

I only wish the ending between Octavia and Red was a little longer.
There are just two small typos in the whole book, but they’re not a big deal. You probably won’t even notice them.

If you’re thinking about getting this book or starting the series, trust me and go for it. You won’t regret it. You’ll feel so many emotions, as if you’re living the story yourself, and you’ll want even more.

Book 3 of the trilogy Immortal Lovers

If you thought vampires were all about biting and drinking blood, think again! Ruby Roe’s „House of Crimson Curses“ takes you on a wild ride through a beautiful world. Octavia and Red’s steamy romance is hotter than a vampire’s sunburn, and the plot twists will have you saying, „Wait, what?!“ more times than a confused bat in daylight.

Expect enough spice to make a chili pepper blush.
And if you ever wondered what it’s like to fall in love with your enemy, this book has all the answers.

Five starts for making me cry, laugh, having me scream “WAIT, WHAT?!” and well.. whatever the spice did.

It's finally here! The much anticipated finale to Ruby Roe's Kingdom of Immortal Lovers trilogy. And, in her usual fashion, she did not disappoint. Not one bit.

(Please read the first two books in the series before you read this one, as it cannot be read as a standalone)

We start off just where the previous book left off, and I'm guessing we were all at the edges of our seat at that point? I know I was, and when I started to read I was right back to the same place, the very edge of my seat. My smart watch asked me to do some relaxation exercises at some point during the read🤷🏼‍♀️

Ruby manages to keep us entertained, without the story being repetitive. And with this, I mean new ways to absolutely mess with our heads. To say this was an emotional rollercoaster is an understatement. A rollercoaster you can't get off, or want to get off🎢

This finale perfectly sums up the series, though there were points where I thought it would all end up as a pile of ash. As much as I was ready to finally find out how it all ends, having spent so long waiting for these books to be published, the characters have had the time to properly embed themselves in my heart, and I was not prepared to say goodbye🥹

This series is next on my wife's TBR, and I can't wait to watch her read them. Like, I will not read anything myself, I will sit and watch her, and wait for reactions👀

Ruby Roe is a genius. She markets this series as smut, but there is such heart in these stories. House of Crimson Curses packs a punch. Literally, there’s a ton of action sequences in this book. Running, fighting, and the end of the competition in the series.

This book brings about a change in the dynamic between Red and Octavia, which is emotional and raw and genuine. I won’t say much more because I don’t want to spoil the conclusion of the series for anyone. If you loved the other books in this series, this will not disappoint. And the smut….*chef’s kiss*

Ruby also breaks the fourth wall a little bit and tosses in a few Easter eggs about the clothing and the abuse it takes when Octavia and Red are all riled up for each other. Just delightful.

4⭐️ “House of Crimson Kisses” leaves you a broken bloody mess on the floor and “Curses” picks you up and slowly puts you back together, but not without playing Yo-Yo with your heart first! Book 3 is a climactic and emotional series ending, full of twists and turns, that pulls together the various plot lines and wraps up the story with satisfying completeness.

We may have had to wait a 1000 years, but Kingdom of Immortal Lovers finally gives us sapphics our own epic (and very smutty) vampire love story.

I finished this series but it was a bit difficult. I felt like the author used chapter breaks to escape tough spots that she put her characters in and then proceeded to never address the issues again. I found the competition a bit of a joke. And I found the ending a bit of a joke too. After the curse was broken why did vampires still even exist? If Sadie was dead and Cordelia back to being a human, wouldnt that have a trickle down effect to all those who were turned because of of the curse?

Also what was the point of the demons?

Also what was the purpose of the characters from New Imperium coming to 'help'? Other than Scarlett, I still dont know why they had to be there.

And when they all had to put her face on and dress like Red during the voting that took place at the whisper club, why would they have all been wearing her face and such and still handing out as a group together at the bar and to do their rounds trying to convince the people in attendance to vote for her and Octavia?

The timeline felt so off. The other city characters arrive and and thrown into this recruitment scheme...some of these characters dont even know Red or Octavia and theyre supposed to help amass votes? uhhh ok

and then time jumping at the end...Im sorry I wanted to see what happened after everyone came out of the Montague territory to the huge crowd of people and have them explain wtf just happened.
I wanted to see how the crowd reacted to Eleanor and Cordelia. I wanted to hear people ask questions about the cure. Wasnt that the who reason people were all riled up??? And you were just like 'oh the cure was actually only for two people. you can all go home now..." mkay

Also, having your leader of the city have her office in what is basically a sex club...great call.

Also also, having a vampire in charge of the city's army (not just hunters or vamps anymore but united), makes zero sense. she can only train people when it's dark out....she can only lead any army initiatives when the sun isn't shining. Cute idea to have her work with Red, but bad idea in general.

Lastly, Im sorry, I dont buy that Cordelia would just give the city to Octavia, nor did I buy their relationship in the slightest. All the mushy stuff at the end between them felt forced and felt like the author was trying to elicit emotions from the readers.

Overall I am not sure how people are rating this book above a 3. Im a solid 1.5

Loved this book! Def the best in the series, delivering a strong conclusion to both Octavia and Red’s love story, as well as Cordelia’s. The second book ended on a cliffhanger, but this one provided the payoff. Everything came full circle. Octavia and Red’s relationship felt more grounded and genuine here, and their love for each other really came through the pages. Even though I’ve had mixed feelings about Cordelia’s POV, her story ended on a strong note.

The world-building throughout the series was vivid, but it stood out even more in this book. I especially liked the final trial scene. It was intense and beautifully portrayed.

Overall, this series was very good. It was easy to read, engaging, and full of heat. I genuinely enjoyed the characters and the suspense. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who loves hot vampires!

E punch.

This was a nice wrap up to the trilogy. The plot lines all converged and the story felt very “complete” at the end which I love to see in a trilogy. Ruby Roe did a great job pulling all the strings through that she had laid in the first two books.

Octavia and Red are the epitome of messy toxic lesbians, and you know what I’m here for it. The spicy scenes between those two are always PIPING HOT. And I love the drama of messy love feelings and relationships, so if that’s not your thing their turmoil might get a bit old for you.

I was also pleasantly surprised how into the 1000 years ago Cordelia timeline I was. I’m glad that all got wrapped up nicely too and helped explain the present day plot line as well.

Overall I really enjoyed this trilogy. Is the main reason why that the smut was filthy? Yes. I regret nothing.

The sadness I felt after finishing the final book in this trilogy..was much.
This was an emotional rollercoaster, you are made to FEEL these characters pain and suffering. They are in the trenches? So are you :).

The subtlety of the foreshadowing (for me anyway)... left my jaw on the floor when the plot twists came along (and oh are there plenty). This book, and this series as a whole was such a good time, and I am SO glad there are more books in this universe for me to read :)

The thematic elements felt a bit on the nose, especially at the end. There was a lot of telling through character dialogue and inner monologue, and there wasn't much left for the reader to infer. This along with the timing of some of the spice made this 4 *'s. OCTAVIA... RED... WE ARE LITERALLY IN A WAR! WHAT ARE YOU DOING ??!! LOL But let me tell you.... This spice is CHEF's KISS. Next level. Immaculate. All the words.

Thank you @ambertheninth (insta) for recommending this series to me <3

I was not ready for this series to consume me entirely, but I am so thankful it did. What a joy to have something so unapologetically sapphic, sexy, and brutal. I did not pick up Book 1 with any expectations, but I am finishing Book 3 with genuine love and appreciation. Octavia and Red’s story turned out to be one for the ages after all.

WOW. What a way to end Red and Octavia’s story. 🤯

This book had everything that I wanted. The plot was amazing from start to finish, and kept me on the edge of my seat. One thing is for sure, Ruby Roe knows how to write a plot twist! The spice…. Was spicing 😍. This is the kind of book that you cannot put down no matter how tired you are, you have to know what happens! I am now sad that it is over, so I might have to just read the series again!

Just finished reading and raaaan to get my review on this.!!! This book is an absolute rollercoaster. Starting it to ending it. It was so hard putting this one down. The whole series was so hard to put down tbh. The plot twist had me shook—I did NOT see that coming. 🔥 Ruby really kept everything entertaining and absolutely THRILLING!! also-

THE CHARACTERS??? Ugh, I’m OBSESSED. Not only are the main characters absolutely incredibly hot women?? NO you can literally feel all their emotions in your bones. Everything is written out so so well and really explained. Its exactly explained whats going on in this person rn you can really feeeel it!! 😭😭 It’s like they pull you into their world and don’t let go. It gave me the exact feeling i search for in every book i've read. 😻😻

HONESTLYYYY this book is pure sapphic gold—spicy, and the cute romantic moments we're getting here and there of Octavia and Red caring for eachother, growing and falling in love with eachother more and mooore are everything. I can’t recommend it enough. Go read it and thank me later.!! I've loved this so so much. 🫶

AAAAAAAHHH!!!! aaaaahhhh!!

Well, Ruby Roe just became an auto-buy authors for me.

This trilogy blew me away. I went in expecting a sapphic, spicy, vampire love story and I walked away with my mind blown. There were basically three plots going all the way through, and one was a mystery I never guessed the ending to.

I can't talk much about the plot because I don't want to give it away, but there was a major plot between the spicy. Yes, this was also very spicy, but I didn't feel the plot getting lost like I have in other spciy romantasies.

Red and Octavia ♥️ Red made me so angry in book two, but she redeemed herself in book three and I absolutely loved their relationship and growth.

Whew. This was more than I thought it would be and I'm so happy I read it. I can't wait to check out more from this author!

I stand by my review of the first book.
This is Junk Food.
The writing is bad. It feels like it's come off of wattpad. The characters- given that the eldest is supposed to be 1000 yrs old- don't act like it.

The magic system and world building is definitely a background character half formed.

There were two POVs I really didn't think needed to be there... so I skipped them.
As it's from multiple POV, first person, you know everything. Always.

There are issues. I have so many issues with the narrative of this trilogy.

And yet.

I binge read all three books in three days. I don't understand what hold this trilogy had over me, but it had something. So, 3 stars. I've not sat for 8hrs straight reading for a long time.

3.5 🌟s. Finally! A Sapphic fantasy with an excellent story line AND good spice!? Who knew you could have both. Personally I liked the first 2 books better than this one. In this third book I was pretty tired of the mfc with the constant "everyone hates me, no one loves me" narrative. I also felt like this book was overly saturated with senseless spice scenes. I actually started skipping through them. The storyline however was so enjoyable and I'll always recommend this series. Definitely will be reading more from this author.

House of Crimson Curses was probably my least favorite of the trilogy—not because it was bad, but because I came in hoping for more Octavia and Red smut (let’s be honest). The storyline itself was still solid, and I appreciated the darker turn the plot took, but some of the twists (like the reveal of Octavia’s birth mom) were pretty predictable about halfway through. That said, the emotional weight at the end really landed. It was sad, but it definitely went out with a bang ;)

I’ll miss these characters, even if I didn’t get exactly what I wanted from this finale.
