My best friend walked out of my life four years ago after experiencing a tragedy. I’ve almost given up hope that he’ll ever return. But the day before junior year, he suddenly shows up and turns my life upside down.
Brock is the same guy he was before, but also different. There’s pain in his eyes and a lot of guilt. His return brings out so many confusing emotions, but there’s one thing I’m sure about. The way I feel about him.
I think he might feel the same way because he’s always finding reasons to hang out with me. Being with him feels so right. But the past always creeps up on us, reminding us that a happily ever after might not be written in the stars.
Do we fight for a future together or are we doomed to be stuck in the past?

if the what i’ve heard is true and this is the last book then… I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH. i think lexi and brock were definitely a good ending choice as we have been anticipating their book for AGES! and i’m so glad we finally got it! this series will ALWAYS be 5 STAR in my heart, like i might rate each book not very high but the nostalgia, happiness and memories this book has given me will always make it 5 star. brock is zoeys brother who is part of the musketeer trio and zane and baileys son who is like an addition to the original musketeers. while lexi is aiden’s sister from the junior musketeers as he married ava. this book as LOADS of connections and family history. THERE WILL BE MANY grandchildren. since previous books brock had something happen leading to him moving with his grandparents. we find in this book his other best friend, andy had died right in front of brock and he blamed himself. right before moving him and lexi exchanged hurtful words to each other. even separated though, they still loved each other and when returning the DEFINITELY had a connection. one of lexi and brocks friend, (forgot his name) confessed to lexi his feelings and honestly whatever your name is, until the very end I HATED YOU. like we watched as brock and lexi started getting closer again and falling in love now older and you went and destroyed it all by spitting out NONSENSE to brock and ruining the created friendship. i love how they after finding out everything don’t just immediately jump into a relationship. one thing this author does really well is add deeper topics to the books adding more depth into it. now after TRULY realising their feelings because their both pathological people pleasers who put other first. they truly realise their feelings and get together!!!! YAYYYYYYY! i loveee this book and watching as brock and lexi grow closer but with more understanding is just so sweet! love their whole friend group dynamics although… lexi’s kinda a pick me. one girl in a group of guys? errr. but other than that. LOVE THIS BOOK AND WILL ALWAYS LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!

See, the fact that this might just be the end of the series doesn’t feel real to me. Not even a little. I remember starting my account back up because I wanted to talk about these books to anyone who would listen and found such an amazing community through it all, as well as even more books that I wouldn’t have found on my own.
I scheduled this post because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to get it out in time. But now, we’ve got to the end of a very (boy, do I emphasize that word) long series and let’s get into my thoughts.
Without spoilers, of course.
Now, if someone were to tell me how to describe the book to a person who couldn’t read, I would tell them that it felt like a warm hug. In comparison to the previous thirteen books, it has this warmth and you got to see what both Brock and Lexi were going through individually. How they affected each other.
"The people we love always have a way of coming back to us," some may say. I think this is a pretty accurate representation of that quote in the YA romance genre. Just like last time, I have my detailed thoughts on the whole book (with spoilers) in a document that is available if you ask. But you can get this book on Amazon and KU!
My Eyes misted when I read that this was the last book in the series .. I mean, it makes sense because every person found their love story .. but it's really bittersweet because I will really miss this series so much In this book we will finally meet grown up Brock and know what happened to him four years ago, he is damaged and he was away to cure himself, but his best friend Lexi didn't give up on him all this time, and now he is back in Edenbury and it's time for him to face his old life .. can he face his old feelings for Lexi ?
I have to say, this book was heavier than the rest of the series, but for some reason I couldn't like Brock, he felt whiney and spoiled .. I mean what he went through was bad, but the way he was treating Lexi didn't sit well with me, I did somewhat enjoy the book because of the cameos from characters from previous books, Ally and Brydon became grandparents ?!!! but this book in particular wasn't my cup of tea
so sad to see this series end, it will have a special space in my heart
After several books hinting at some big dramatic moment in Brock's life that changed him, I was going to be annoyed if it wasn't even that horrible. Turns out it was pretty horrible but I still feel he made life harder for himself. Poor Lexi carried the brunt of Brock's guilt and harsh reaction but all she wanted was her friend back and she never gave up 🥹 He needed that and it was nice to see them rekindle their friendship and see it blossom into more. Everyone knew they were meant to be so idk what was with the back and forth nonsense. It was pretty repetitive but not too bad and I did enjoy it. Liked that their mutual friends were pretty supportive and mature for their age too, well....besides Finn haha
I absolutely adored Brock and Lexi. I was so excited for their story. So curious about what happened to them why Brock wouldn’t talk to her and when he was gonna come back. The poor girl was so in love with him, she never lost hope and he felt like he didn’t deserve her forgiveness. I hated how it felt like they were building throughout the entire book and then they stopped and pulled back and then they came together so fast again it felt rushed. I wish we would’ve seen more of them together together. I wish we could see them in the future happy and married like all the other couples. This series was so good I can’t believe it’s over already. I kind of want more. I just like how easy they are to read.
Definitely slow burn but this one had more depth to it than the other books. We watch Brock and Lexi grow and make decisions. They don’t kiss and date immediately. It was very well done. Other than excessive compliments it doesn’t feel as redundant as some of the other books. Brock was a bit selfish and made quite a bit of bad decisions but it was sweet to see Lexi not giving up on her best friend
only complaint I wouldn’t ride a motorcycle without a helmet. No one can promise each other safety hence why Andy got hurt. I guess helmets don’t protect that much though.
I enjoyed the persistence in the bubbly girl. She stayed true and it was endearing. He dealt with a lot of emotions at a young age: infatuation and watching his friend die in front of his eyes. That can't be easy. I thought it was sweet, tender, and believable.
I’ll say that this book is a 4 star to me. It was interesting enough. I liked how we got to see what really happened with Brock when he was 14? … it sucks that he saw his friend die in front of him.
To see that and deal with that and pushing friends away had to be hard for him. I was glad in the end when he came back Lexi and the guys still talked to him regardless of what went down between them.
Brock learn to forgive himself for what he did and said to Lexi about she was to blame for Andy death . When neither Brock or Lexi was a fault of Andy death. That was a freak accident. I’m glad that Brock coming to terms of that it wasn’t his fault.
Besides all of that I knew that Brock and Lexi was going to end up together when I read the book with her (Lexi) brother when they was hanging together when they were eight!!!
