Sweet Tea is an amazing book. I was given several books to pre-read (I received an ARC for my honest review). I actually read this book twice! As a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, I would recommend this book to any client who is dealing with mental health issues with a loved one. I felt that Wendy did an amazing job with staying true to the signs and symptoms of a mental health disorder. This book isn't only about that though, it is about a family pulling together and finding hope and joy ...more

Firstly thanks to Aimme & Wendy for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is the first book I have read by Wendy & I really liked her writing style. I’m from the UK & it was a joy to read the Southern drawl .. the story is set in Georgia, Atlanta.
We meet CeCe, Olivia & Luke .. who live with Mama in a trailer park following the death of their father. Mama begins by ‘burying’ the Thanksgiving turkey in the yard .. huge indicator that something isn’t qui

Sweet Tea is a light & enjoyable novel about a complex family situation.... three children trying to take care of a single parent with mental illness. Wendy Lynn Decker does a remarkable job of educating the reader about the trials of dealing with medical illness, while at the same time supplying them with a warm touching story of southern family in which all things are possible with a little love, devotion & a cup of Sweet Tea.

I so appreciate this great tale about a family faced with mental illness! And I hope there's a sequel. Wendy did a fabulous job building each character into a uniquely lovable person. The novel twists and turns unpredictably and ends on a great note, leaving just enough questions about the future that make me want to hear more. ...more

People say that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but in this case you should.
The cover it's absolutely breathtaking, draws your attention and promises you an interesting story.
As soon as you start reading it, it's clearly that your first impression based on the cover it's going to be a fact.
The Author has created a wonderful story with a terrible subject like its mental illness. Olivia, our main character, and her siblings struggle with their mother's illness, their personal relationship

While I did really enjoy my time reading this novel, I just couldn't give it a 4. I applaud the author for tackling an issue not often dealt with in stories especially from the children's perspective. I just felt at the end that there was so much more to their story that needed to be told. ...more

Sweet Tea 1 5 Jun 01, 2014 07:55PM
I am an author, singer, mom and lover of warm air and sea breezes. I love to read, walk, ride bikes and be outside as much as possible. I love to sit on my balcony and listen to people talking as they walk down my street toward the beach. I love to listen to all the music coming from Asbury Park in the summertime (a walking distance from my home).

Winter does have a an important place in my life I
