Sierra is a high powered CEO of an extremely profitable ad company. Cameron is a blue collar builder running a construction company on the rise.
Although I loved that the usual wealthy CEO position is held by a woman, I hated that she used her sexuality to land clients. Shouldn’t her skill in her job be more important than her low cut tops?
And another love/hate part: I loved that Cameron was ok with her spending money on him but I hate that he seemed to accept her massive alcohol abuse.

Thanks to this story, I have no grown even less fond of Tequila.
How in the WORLD can someone drink that much Tequila without getting severly sick? Sierra drank it like it was a glass of water. How??!

Also, I’m still trying to wrap my head around how Cameron even fell in love with her…or rather why? There was nothing appealing about her to be totally honest.

Sandi Lynn has done it again. I honestly did not know what to think when I found out she was writing a book with a female Lead as the CEO of a company. I thought how in gods name is she going to top Connor Black, will she be able to pull it off? Well Sierra is definitely NO Connor Black, BUT that is not a bad thing. Oh dear, having previously loved her Forever trilogy I sadly have to say I almost didn't finish this!! I really, really thought the synopsis was great and was expecting a sassy, fun read. What I got was severely lacking, period chats (twice!), loads of sex with ( suits), a seriously messed up heroine who was pandered to by her driver and best friend/ assistant/ door mat. Its a great story of a woman in power in a "MANS WORLD". Sierra is a woman who knows what she wants and will not let anyone get in her way. I LOVED that about her. Love the fact this is a book about a CEO woman! The whole story lines a bit role reversal really. I loved it. It's was good to see a strong career focused heroine. Sierra has her set up with "suits" cause she has been burned by love before. In comes blue collar hard worker Cameron who is very diff to her usual hook ups. Sierra has had a few bad experiences with previous boyfriends and no longer does relationships. She has several corporate men (suits) she has sex with, men who are happy to give her what she wants: no strings; no commitments; and no problems. Having grown up wealthy, Sierra only wants the finer things in life and never does anything by half.

Cam is her total opposite. He loves the simple things in life, his family, his hometown and is not afraid of relationships. He first sees Sierra from across the room at a Starbucks he’s renovating and knows she’s out of his league, but wants her anyway.

Coming to a decision made on the fly, Sierra decides to hire Cam to renovate her newly acquired mansion. When she learns that Cam is being forced out of his apartment, she offers him her guesthouse for the duration of the renovations. After a few days of flirting, she decides to step outside her box of suits and plans to make Cam one of her friends with benefits. Of course, it wouldn’t be a romance if the alpha male didn’t try to break down the woman’s walls and convince her he’s worthy of more than just sex. He’s not just a piece of meat you know.

Well, in classic romance fashion, Sierra starts to have feelings for Cam and that’s when things go downhill. She starts putting her walls back up and Cam won’t tolerate it and walks away. She finally comes to her senses and it’s a race to get to Cam before it’s too late.

What I liked most about this book was the secondary characters and how they all interacted with each other. Sierra’s maid (Rosa), assistant (Kirsty) and driver (James) are all very funny and not afraid to speak their mind to their boss. I think that’s why Sierra likes and respects them so much. Despite coming from a different background, Cam fits right in.

What I didn’t like about the book was the forceful vibe I got between Sierra and her suits during sex. It seemed a little rough and crude and didn’t seem to please her at all. If you’re only going to use men for sex, at least have sex with men who turn you on, right? She was always imagining someone else just to get her juices flowing and they way the suits spoke to her was a little lame. But maybe that was the author’s intent.

I think the worst part of the book was Sierra herself. Don’t get me wrong, I found many of her scenes funny, she could certainly bust some balls and I was glad she got her HEA. But I also found her spoilt, snobby and rude. Her constant complaining when being forced to step out of her comfort zone and her alcoholic tendencies were off-putting. I also couldn’t really picture her as a CEO. While she did spend some nights working very late at the office, I somehow don’t imagine a CEO being able to pop out for some girl time at the drop of a hat.

I’ve heard there’ll be a follow up to this book to continue the story but I can’t find anything on the author’s website. I would be interested in reading this book if it does exist.

I loved the character of Cameron, he was an ordinary guy doing an ordinary job. He fell in love with Sierra who was seriously fucked up, she had previously had her heart broken so for the last few years she had only lived for her job as CEO of her own ad agency and no strings sexual hook ups with "suits", rich business associates she knew. This was a cute story! Had some funny moments and I loved that the woman was the rich CEO, and guy was made from simple stock. I loved how he accepted her for who she was and her money did not become an issue. What did bother me is that she drank so much, I felt bit disgusted by the amount she drank and felt character has a problem. Seriously she was ALWAYS DRINKING. I also would have liked more heat to the story. I was not expected so much fade to black sex.

Overall, I didn't like it and mainly it's because of the heroine and her hypocrisy. She purposely dates only assholes and when she's treated like trash, she's surprised and angry at it. The fuck?

The premise of her fucked up outlook on relationship is due to her parent's divorce and her long term boyfriend ditching her. Somehow this translates into infidelity-phobia. So, she's into these hook ups "without strings" to avoid being hurt but then she admits that those hookups never give her satisfaction because she has to imagine "George Clooney" to find release with her present hookup. Also never mind that those assholes treat her like a one dollar whore.

Sierra meets the hero of the story, Cameron, and falls for him. But throughout the story, she never had the guts to call off the random hookups. Quite hypocritical for being a staunch and VOCAL opponent about infidelity but Sierra is pretty lax with her whatever relationship with Cameron.

At one point about 80% of the story, she even goes back to her previous hook up for oral sex while still with Cameron. And when her friend confronts her about that, she didn't see anything wrong with it. I suppose Sierra thinks oral sex (with finger penetration and all that 9 yards) does not equal sex, which means it was no infidelity. Sierra even says (quote from the book), “Royce is a good guy who offered some good advice.” But there's a problem here. She says that after Royce admits that he knows Sierra is in love with another guy and probably in a relationship with him and he still calls Sierra over for one last booty call. Royce is a good guy. Right.

What really irks me is that the heroine never really feels remorse for her hypocritical actions nor any reflection on it. Oh, Sierra feels bad because she had Cameron's face in her mind while Royce, the hookup, fingers her. But then afterwards, Sierra brushes off the "bad feeling" about imagining Cameron and that's the end of that. She even calls Royce a good guy. A guy who calls you over to cheat is a good guy.

Overall, I didn't respect nor like the heroine and the hero (a boring beta doormat). I guess it's not a surprise I did not enjoy this book and the author's take on romance (and especially the lack of reflection on the heroine's slutty and wandering ways while still with Cameron). I didn't get to the end because I dnf'ed when Sierra called Royce a good guy. I'm sure the novel will end up in some trump up HEA but I can hardly root for it nor think it will genuinely last.

I had tried other books by Sandi Lynn and to be honest, I don't think this author's for me because her idea for romance is quite strange.

I am still at 59% of the book..and let me tell u..it is with great effort..i was able to read until here.
I thought i will stop and read later..if i feel like it.
I am unable to hear anymore whiningggg...... of Sierra and she is so unlikable. I tried ..i really tried to like her..but..nope.
Cole is so sweet and I don't understand what he likes in her..except she is beautiful.
I think he is better off without her.

Then You Happened is a wonderful romantic comedy that will keep you entertained the entire time. I could not stop smiling as I read this book, although I did cry a few tears as well.

Sandi Lynn has given us something new with this book and by god is that woman good!

How many hotties can she drum up? Well ass Cameron Cole to that list.

This book has me chuckling throughout in all of it's brilliance, CEO Sierra is amazing! She is all business and she rules hard! I for one wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of her.

Sandi Lynn's books always draw me in and amaze me. Even though Then You Happened is completely different to her other books this one was no exception. It was refreshing not like anything out there at the moment.

It was a really great and funny book, about a female CEO (for a change) and a regular guy (a carpenter). I really liked Sierra and Cameron relationship, Sierra is a crazy crazy girl who can't do anything without her tequila. And Sierra's friend Kristy is even better lol, i liked the relationship between Kristy and James (despite the twelve age difference).

Barely 2 and not because of the writing or the plot, but because I just couldn't connect with the characters. Sierra is an alcoholic, seriously I don't know how she doesn't suffer from cirrhosis with the way she was drinking everyday. Also does people who have designer clothes talk like that? "Today I'm wearing my Chanel suit and those Manolo shoes". Seriously? I do have some nice expensive things, but I don't mention the brand when I decide to use them, I think is tacky.

I loved and highly recommend this book. I loved Sierra and her almost alcoholic ways and I loved Cameron and his down to earth ways.

Sierra is a high maintenance CEO of one of the top 10 advertising firms in America. She is only 29 when you start the book and she has been hurt badly by her ex Ryan. This book did not work for me at all. I love all of the Sandi Lynn books that I've read so far, but this one just didn't get me there. The whole idea of a woman as the lead in a CEO position had me very exited to read this book, but the character just didn't work for me.

She's basically an alcoholic! I mean, who drinks that much tequila??? And she's like a spoiled brat. I did not connect with this character and it's a bit disappointing as all the other characters in the other books ...more

Reverse alpha. She definitely has a drinking problem and the fact that no one seems disturbed by it says a lot for their characters especially Cameron. As for her being the alpha she certainly can't handle her breakup. It has been 2years and especially since she claims he has a small appendage. What's to be heartbroken about.
