Brody O’Shea isn't looking for much, just a hot guy with a decent job, who is sane and doesn’t have kids. The son of a former rock star, Brody has lived through the pain of bankruptcy and bad parenting, and he doesn't want to experience it again. As a reformed horndog, he wants the security and stability of a relationship. But almost every guy he meets seems satisfied with ...more

Sit yourself down and guzzle a gallon of sweet tea (no lemon). OR.

Skip the calories and read this latest installment in Jacob Florez’s Provincetown series. When Love Comes to Town doesn’t have a lot of depth. But the lighthearted fun and well-written prose make up for it in spades.

Prepare for instant love, big emotions, raging passion, and silly misunderstandings. There is no homophobia in Provicetown, just furry bears, hot twinks, tan flesh, and lots of sunshine.

It's no secret that I love the writings of Jacob Flores. This final installment of the Provincetown series was no exception.

This was a fun, no angst book starring Brody, who was introduced in book 3 as Teddy's arrogant, player ex-boyfriend. One year later, Brody has realized that he wants to find Mr. Right and is done with Mr. Right Now. Problem is Brody has a strict list of requirements and if you don't meet each and every one you are out the door. Eric, who is in town for his cousin Van's wed
Extremely cute, low on angst, a bit of character growth, and super fluffy with a smidgen of insta-love, but made me go all 'aawwwww' at the end, and in the middle, too. And Holy Hot Boysecks, Batman!!

It seems like just yesterday that I read book one in Jacob Z. Flores' 'Provincetown' series, and now here I am at book four 'When Love Comes to Town'. Okay, okay. I have a confession to make. It wasn't yesterday, but it also wasn't that long ago that I discovered this incredible author and these wonderful books. So, I'm not a Jacob virgin anymore, but I'm not exactly 'rode hard and put away wet' yet, either. Doesn't matter though because each installment I've found something to love and this was ...more

Brody is kind of a man slut. He’s looking for a relationship – maybe – but definitely not one with attached kids. So imagine his dismay when he begins to fall for the very stuffy and uptight Eric who comes with two kids in tow.

Just like the other books in this series – there are lots of glimpses of what life is like in Gay Nirvana – aka Provincetown.

Brody and Eric have a lot of hot sex but also some surprisingly sweet “feels” moments as well.

If you’ve been following along in the series, I think

fantastic! Great story, but made even better as told to me by TJ Jamesin ;)

He does such a great job with voices anyway, but his Maddie was so adorable - what sass!

JZF does great characters (as always) but all the other characters from the previous three books are present throughout most of the story which is really fun. The dialog is terrific.

Great book, great series
Brody wants a man but hevhas a long list of criteria the men must meet.
Eric and his daughter come to P town for his cousin Ban's wedding.

A comfort read with a comfort narrator. This was absolutely a joy to listen to.

Love came to town for Brody O’Shea in the form of a little girl named Maddie and her handsome but troubled papa, Eric Vasquez. Eric is a widower, having lost Charlie, his husband of ten years, when he died two years previously. His grief is a daily and palpable source of pain, but he’s determined to have fun this week in Provincetown as he attends his cousin Van’s wedding to his fiancé, Zach (MCs of When Love Takes Over).

Brody is sick and tired of being the only single guy in a world of couples

A "Live Your Life, Buy The Book" Review

This series features so many different types of couples. From porn stars and play boys to heart broken widowers and reformed sluts. I honestly have no idea what I’m going to get when I pick up a book in this series. We did meet Brody, one of the MCs, in the last book but he’s so different in this book. You think you know a guy. Pffttt…. ;)

In the last book we left Brody pining over his college ex. He’s still hooking up but looking for love. When he

One of the books I really was looking forward to. I was so happy to be visiting Provincetown again:)

Author Jacob Flores got me hooked on this series from the first book and I have been enthusiastic reading this series ever since.

Knowing this was going to be the last one made me sad but it also made me curious to what the author would come up with to finish up this series.

He sure didn’t disappoint! In this 4th book we meet up with Brody after having been introduced to him in t

Brody O’Shea and Eric Vasquez have both known their fair share of heartache. Brody had a tumultuous childhood that has left him slightly bitter. The certified playboy has sworn off one night stands in his search for that ever elusive one person to spend the rest of his life with. Eric could be the perfect guy for Brody, there is only one little problem, Eric’s nine year old daughter Maddie.

Eric’s husband, Maddie’s other daddy, died just a few years ago leaving Eric with the sole responsibility o

Love strikes again in Provincetown....Brody O'Shea used to be the town's whore hound, but now he was finding himself lonely, wanting to find that special man. A few days before Zach and Van's wedding, family was coming in to help and attend. Van's cousin, Eric, along with Eric's daughter, Maddie, were among them and Brody had agreed to pick them up at the ferry....The night before Brody had a dream about a man and his daughter...When he went to pick them up, he was late, watching all that were e ...more

When you start reading this story, you do wonder why the hell is Brody still single. He’s hot, he has a great job that should give him access to a wide variety of hunks, and he lives in Provincetown. As the story unfolds, it hits you that he’s more concerned with a list and very careful to dismiss everyone for little or bigger flaws. He searches for an idea, a model, a relationship, but not the person to have that relationship with.

Eric is at the exact opposite point in his life. He does even wa

I know, I know….when I get a series I like I mow right threw them and am now left bereft. I got no more !!!!! Jacob I know you have some more in you for more…..But I got no more for now……whaaaaaa…

Okay lets talk Book 4… Brody O”Shea appeared in the third book When Love Gets Hairy. Brody was Teddy’s ex the lover Teddy loved and lost ten years earlier. I liked Brody in that story. He seemed to even try and reconnect with Teddy to no avail because of Teddy”s new found relationship for Nino. Great fo

In the 4th Provincetown romance, Flores falls under the spell of purple prose and Family Week at the gay resort.

Brody O'Shea, last seen as Teddy's boyhood lover in When Love Gets Hairy, is the odd man out as family and friends gather for the marriage of Zach and Van whose romance was central in When Love Takes Over.

Brody is particular about who he will love, but not with whom he shares a night of sex. His parents left him with a skewed image of marriage, so as Brody has worked his way through

This is possibly my favorite of the series now. Brody is rather adrift in the sea of men that is P-town, and he wants to settle down. But he has a list of requirements a mile long, and maybe he shouldn't throw a man out just for breaking one. He could try getting to know them better.

Van and Zach are getting married, and Eric is Van's only family showing up, along with his daughter Maddie. Eric's not looking to replace his husband--he swore he'd never love again and his life would be all about Ma
So, now we have the grieving partner, insta-family, deception plot... and it was good. Very good, indeed. I really enjoy when series intertwine all previous couples in every book and, to quote from this one: "who else but all of us would put off with all of us".

Brody was no my favorite character on the previous book, but this was mostly due to Teddy's misconception of events past (and love Teddy). As we get to know him better, we get to like him and wish him all the happiness in the world. Eric

Brody is looking for Mr. Right and his Mr. Right needs to meet certain requirements - most importantly to not have a child. So of course, Mr. Right arrives in town with a kid in tow.

Eric has not had an easy time of it over the last couple of years and is extremely protective of his daughter, Maddy. Maddy is sweet and wise and just a bit precocious.

Certain misunderstandings allow Eric and Brody to develop a friendship which pretty much leads to love, although it takes the two of them a while (ok

So that brings me to the latest in the series, When Love Comes to Town. Town is probably my second favorite book in the series (probably because of Maddie). It pairs someone looking for love in all the wrong places with someone who has accepted he will never love again. Maddie provides the comic relief as well as a touch of conflict. I loved how the romance developed organically. They were both holding back just enough that they became friends first, then took it to the “next level”. In the end, ...more

A sweet, rather light-hearted romance featuring Brody who is seeking true love.

The story was a bit slow at times and I wasn't very invested in Brody and Eric's relationship.

Maddie was adorable and was the true star of this story for me. I liked how she was a strong presence in this story. Her bond with Brody was a joy to read and I always looked forward to see them together.

4.5 out of 5

A really nice story and a beautiful ending for a good series. I still love Van the most and was happy to see him getting marry.

Eric and Brody were great and their story was sweet. I just rushed in order to see them finally together. I just wanted a little bit more angst in their journey. Overall, a nice read.

Love in Provincetown continues when Eric and Maddie Vasquez come to town! Brody O'Shea is looking for love but he's not looking for a man with a child. But, there's always a but, when he meets Eric and Maddie he will have to change his list of requirements in a mate! And Eric will have to figure out how to let go and love again! I DID NOT WANT THIS SERIES TO END! I LOVED IT!

The fluffiest of the bunch. I'm really not into precocious children (or any children really) but this was a very pleasant read nevertheless, and it was nice to see the previous couples again.

Dreamspinner Press: When Love Comes to Town by Jacob Z. Flores 7 24 Apr 21, 2014 11:41AM
Jacob Z. Flores lives a double life. During the day, he is a respected college English professor and mid-level administrator. At night and during his summer vacation, he loosens the tie and tosses aside the trendy sports coat to write man on man fiction, where the hard ass assessor of freshmen level composition turns his attention to the firm posteriors and other rigid appendages of the characters ...more
