A book I read with my kids (currently 6 & 7) to teach them about outer space. It's pretty good, and set up in a clear turn-taking format, with sections for the parent to read followed by sections for the kids to read.

This book is part of a classroom resource collection. Each page has a picture of a planet and text that gives facts and other information about the planet. This book is leveled for approximately grade 2 and 3 students. I enjoy this series as it works well for an at-home reading program and can also be used at school during buddy reading with older students. The information is laid out neatly and accompanied with very intricate photographs. I enjoyed this book and would recommend its use in a lower elementary classroom.

The kids enjoyed this book and we all learned something. My son (7) had said it was boring, but I think he had just looked at it earlier and decided it looked too dry to read the whole thing. When I read it out loud he listened and enjoyed it.

Cool pictures, good information. I learned that when the sun rises on the north pole of Uranus, it stays up for 42 Earth years before setting. There's your fact of the day!
