I felt sick to my stomach reading the Hero being "drugged raped" by the heroine's sister. He was in a relationship with the heroine at the time, so reading about that descriptive scene was horrifying! Some time after the Hero and heroine got over this and she gave him a blowjob and he came in her mouth...I just felt grossed! You see the heroine saw that rape scene. She came to see him and then she saw them on the bed...did not know it at the time that he was drugged, but he still had sex

This debut novel by A.D Ellis is a Contemporary Romance that I think can be enjoyed by anyone 17+. Even more than the element of romance are the life lessons that can be learned in this book. It is about friendship, insecurities, addiction and bullying.

Nate Morgan has spent his whole life fighting and protecting his little brother Nicky from people bullying him, saying hurtful things to him or treating him differently. Nate has never formed an emotional relationship with anyone or allowed anyon

I was given an ARC of For Nicky in exchange for an honest review so here goes....

I thoroughly enjoyed this book but I wasn't hooked, I could quite easily put it down and pick it up again.

Nate has spent his whole life protecting, fighting and caring for his twin brother Nicky, never finding or committing himself to anyone until Elizabeth Decker walks into his life and complete knocks him off his feet. Elizabeth has spent her life being put down and picked on by her sister Audrey (who I h

This is A.D. Elli’s debut novel and it was such a powerful read. For being the author’s first book, it was really good. It offers so much more than your typical contemporary romance novel. Yes it is about romance but we also get powerful lessons to live by. It is about the power of friendships, lack of self-confidence, drug addiction, alcohol addiction and bullying. If you were ever been picked on because you were different, dressed different, talked different, the

I was so bored. This story has 90 chapters. Each chapter is the thoughts of one of the characters. Many chapters are only 1 paragraph or 1 page. Occasionally, the author will provide a scene of the characters together with actual conversation. There are a lot of emotions in the story but because they are described rather than displayed or acted through character relationships, I didn't believe them. The conversations that do happen are stilted and unrealistic. Some of the topics looked at in thi ...more

The beginning of the book was a little drawn out but once it got into the story line it held my attention the rest of the way. It really is a great story. These are issues that people face on a daily basis. Such a strong message that I hope people will actually take away from reading this story because bullying is NEVER okay. In this story not only will we follow the journey of love but also shows you how the effects of bullying can have on a person and those who love them.

This book hit me close to home. First chapters had already made me invest my emotions in this book. I’m sensitive about this kind of topic so it already had me in tears already. It is amazing. Really amazing. I loved how they always say, “For Nicky”, like it is some kind of a chant.

The characters are all well thought out. Audrey and Nicky are the ones who had left gigantic marks on me. Audrey served as the queen evil in this book and she was written s

“For Nicky” is a heartwarming and sweet love story that tackles a number of difficult topics.

Nate Morgan has spent his entire life protecting his twin brother Nicky from bullies. Although he is completely committed to his family, he has never been serious about women. Sticking to one night stands with zero emotion involved has worked just fine for Nate up to this point and he had no intentions of that changing, that is until Elizabeth walked into his life.

Elizabeth Decker has always lived in the

Where do I begin on this story. This story was so real and was very well written. It is about two brothers, Nate and Nicky. They are twins, but Nicky is simple because of complications during delivery. Nate always feels like he has to stand up for his brother, so when he hears someone teasing his brother, there is always a fight. As Nate and Nicky grow up, Nate still feels like he needs to take care of situations that involve Nicky.

Nate is a very complicated man with issues of his own, until he

This is the first book written by A.D.Ellis and it blew me away.. This is a story of twins Nate and Nicky Morgan.. Nicky has a disability and is different .. Nate spends his life fighting to protect his brother.. through his relentless fighting and protecting of Nicky he has never formed a lasting relationship.. he became a Man Whore.. this was really the only way along with the fighting he found as a release to reduce his anger ..against the injustice people showed his brother and anyone who el ...more

Wow! What an awesome MUST READ!! ... I knew this was a newbie freshman Author, but I was pleasantly surprised as she takes us on a roller coaster ride of emotions! ... Yes, there was some angst with a crazy sister & her evil deeds, but I loved how this story sends a strong message that we MUST stop bullying!! ... Also, that the "R-word" is NEVER acceptable & one that I have NEVER liked or used in 50+ years!...

This is a love story showing many different types of love :) ... It was though

***Won this book in a contest*** I’m going to start out by saying this is not the kind of book I normally would have picked out, but since I won it in a contest I think a review is the least I can do. The story is told in first person and keeps switching between two main narrators with one or two others thrown in occasionally. I’m not a huge fan of switching narrators so often, but it does give great insight into what the other characters are thinking. I love the theme about bullying and how sp ...more

OH WOW!!! This book was amazing, the author does a wonderful job with detail, the story line and the characters. This book touched my heart. Nate and Nicky are twin brothers. Nicky is special needs. I can relate to this because my son is special needs. I was in tears in the first chapter. Well Nicky wants Nate to be with Miss Elizabeth (Libby the nickname that Nate gave her.) Well they start to date and then things happen their relationship is tested, numerous times. All I wanted was Nate and Li ...more

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and I read it in less than 24 hours! The story was interesting enough to keep me hooked and I didn't want to put it down. I especially liked that the intimate moments between Nate and Libby were not overly graphic, monotonous or repetitive like some romance novels can be. The author did not use weird descriptive words to paint the picture of what was going on, nor did she describe multiple things in the same way using the same theme of words over and ...more

Let me begin by saying that For Nicky was probably one of the sweetest and most heartwarming stories that I have ever read. It definitely had its ups and downs, and not all of this book is all sunshine and roses, but overall it was just as sweet as can be.

I didn’t know I needed that when I began this book, but judging on how I felt after reading, I definitely needed everything this book gave me!

I was gifted this book by the author for an honest review and boy was it a gift! I love the writing, the characters, and the storyline. At first I was not sure what to think about the book as it was mostly information about the characters and their thoughts, with little dialogue. But I quickly learned that this information was very important to the story and then there was plenty of dialogue, which I love.

I dove into this story without a clue as to what to expect and I have to say I absolutely loved it!

Nate and Nicky are identical twin brothers but there is one difference, Nicky has disabilities caused at birth that has meant that he has spent most of his life being bullied to his face or behind his back by ignorant children. Nate was hugely protective of his twin and extremely hot headed towards people that disrespected Nicky or others. He always had his guard up and was quick to jump to Nicky’s

A.D. Ellis did a fantastic job on her debut novel For Nicky. It was written as if this were her 100th novel and not her first. The writing style was spot on and it flowed from start to finish. The book touches on a lot of real issues that happen to people everyday. There was bullying, anger, rape, addiction, trust issues and even an intervention to show that authors aren't just interested in a happily ever after story I loved t

I was giving an ARC copy of For Nicky for an honest review. I was honestly touched by this book. It brought out so many emotions for me. There were parts in this book that i could relate to. I was drawn in by the love that was shared between twin brothers Nicky & Nate. Nate was always there to stick up for his brother. ***I give this book 4.5 stars***

It is a very well written book, with lovable characters. Yes the book goes through some very seriously heartbreaking stuff, but that's what makes the book great. Reading this book really made me understand how hurtful name calling "retard", really can be. In our lives today a lot of us use "retard" as a word to use just to express some feelings. I am guilty of that, but I never use it to hurt or really call anyone that name...but this book made me understand that

Read the blurb and I was pulled in to the story. Starting reading and realized even though the book is good it was a book I could put down. I didn't find myself trying to devour the book within a day and for me that isn't good. If I truly love a book I have to finish it to find out what is going to happen next. I was given this as an ARC for an honest review.

Told from all of the main characters points of view, it was extremely unique to me. Each chapter had a different voice, a different point of view. With that said, the story still flowed, and kept the reader captivated.

Intelligent and well thought out, this story touched on real life topics about mentally challenged children, bullying, cheating, rape and drugs. The main characters are Elizabeth and Nate but the focus is on thei

After reading the blurb for this I knew that I wanted to read it. However, when a long that I absolutely adore spotlighted it, I remembered that I hadn't yet dived into this story. This book had so much going on but even so, it wasn't hard to follow. It follows Nate and Libby.

Nate has a twin brother, Nicky, who suffers from a disability due to losing oxygen during his birth. Nate is very protective of Nicky, constantly getting into fights and threatening others who are mean to him. The twins' pa
