This textbook was very helpful in giving me an understanding of landscape of important transitions in the lives of people with ASD. It became apparent very early on that the authors are working to fight against potentially harmful therapy strategies that are not based in science. I found it necessary to supplement this resource with my own research of autistic peoples' firsthand stories of how certain science-backed therapy strategies could still be very traumatic for people with ASD! So, I don't think this book is comprehensive on the neurodiversity/acceptance front, but it did emphasize the importance of supporting individuals with ASD to set their own goals and work towards good quality of life!
