I did not particularly care for this book. I've read many texts on diversity and multiculturalism for various college courses over the years, but this one seemed very superficial; it barely scratched the surface of the problems of prejudice and institutional racism.
Another thing that surprised me about this book is how poorly it was written. While the content is passable at best, the amount of grammar and syntax errors made by the writer is absolutely inexcusable. There were several instances while reading the book where I had to double back and reread entire paragraphs, because I absolutely could not understand what Carol Harvey was trying to transmit. Oftentimes, the only reason I could understand a sentence at all was because I focused on context clues and common sense, regardless of the unintelligible writing.
