Kidnapped, locked up, and then stolen by a ruthless, sexy mercenary.

Harper

Kidnapped from my dorm room. Locked in a vault and left to die. And then? Stolen by a ruthless mercenary who claims I’m his mate. What’s a girl supposed to do? Run? Hide? Or surrender to those smoldering looks, the steamy touches, and the sizzling kisses?

When a nasty alien crimelord tries to kidnap and sell me for the information he stored on a chip inside my head. Danger lurks from every corner, and my mercenary might hold the answers, he’s certainly devoted to my protection. Like he’s devoted to my pleasure...

Mitnick

My captain is furious that I stole Harper from a crimelord, then hid her on our ship. She’s my mate, I’ll do anything, break any rules for her. When they throw me in the brig, I break out. When that crimelord conspires to steal her back, I will kill him.

Harper is mine, and soon she’ll know it, and everyone else will too. Then, nothing will stand in my way to see to her every pleasure, to claim her in every way. Heart, body, and soul.

This is book two in the Monster Mercenary Mates series. This sci-fi monster romance features one possessive rule-breaking alien hacker, an ever-curious journalist, and a steamy HEA.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — 4 Stars for Stolen by the Alien Mercenary by Robin O'Connor

Stolen by the Alien Mercenary is exactly the kind of fast-paced, high-stakes alien romance I pick up when I want tension, danger, and a whole lot of delicious chemistry—and Robin O’Connor absolutely delivers. The world-building is engaging without ever slowing things down, and the plot stays quick and exciting from start to finish.

The mercenary hero is the perfect blend of lethal, protective, and secretly soft, and watching him slowly unravel for the heroine had me hooked. Their connection hits that sweet spot between “we should not be doing this” and “try and stop us,” and the banter sprinkled throughout kept things fun amid all the action.

While I wouldn’t have minded a little more depth in certain spots, the story still pulled me in and made me invested in their journey. A solid, spicy, action-packed read—and a great addition to the series.

4.5 ⭐s She never thought the man she loves would also have wings.

Harper was kidnapped from Earth, but she's not sure how long ago it occurred. She does know it would be impossible to return there. Even if Earth was still there, everyone she knew would be dead.

If one kidnapping wasn't enough, she was then kidnapped a second time by Batok, a crime lord. He implanted a device containing information in her head. When he left the mining planet, he left her in a locked vault with no food or water. She didn't need to be alive for him to retain the data; he just needed to know where her body was. Sometimes when the aliens would visit the vault, they'd leave her water and scraps of food. She had resigned herself to knowing she'd eventually die there.

Mitnick is a mercenary whose captain has sent to steal some data from the vault. As soon as he sees Harper, he knows she's his mate. When he returns to his spacecraft, he hides her. He knows she needs medical attention, but if he takes her to the doctor onboard, he'll be kept away from her. He places her in a stasis pod and cares for her for a year before the Captain discovers what he's done.

Mitnick is the ship's hacker. As he feared, he was separated from her, but he was able to hack into the tablet she was given. They begin to know one another and to bond.

He was from a different quadrant of space and is the first of his species the crew has seen. They don't understand that for his species, a male cannot be separated from his female. Harper demands to be taken to the brig to see him. The crew is amazed to see the change in him, and they are allowed to be together.

When it becomes necessary to return to the vault on the mining planet, Harper goes with him. After a huge sandstorm, Batok captures them. Having no knowledge of Mitnick's abilities, Batok greatly underestimates Mitnick's abilities! He will regret that...

Stolen by the Alien Mercenary is book two of the Monster Mercenary Mates series. Stolen by the Alien Mercenary is Harper and Mitnick’s story. I thought author Robin O’Connor wrote a fantastic story with this book. I absolutely fell in love with both Robin and Mitnick, I found them both to be entertaining and enjoyable to read about and get to know their story. Stolen by the Alien Mercenary is phenomenally well-written and I found that I had difficulty putting this book down because I didn’t want to stop reading the book. The storyline is amazingly well put together and the characters help bring out the storyline fantastically. I would most certainly encourage other readers to check this book out.

Stolen by the Alien Mercenary Details:

Stolen by the Alien Mercenary by Robin O’Connor
Monster Mercenary Mates #2

Wonderful alien-human romance escape that took me away from the stresses of living in Lebanon. Why not jump into another world that might be equally as dangerous but also provide a happily after for two lucky loving characters?

What I liked:
* Harper O’Neill: kidnapped from America, in stasis for two centuries, alien’s slave, journalist on earth, curious, strong, survivor, saved from near death by Mitnick who knows she is his mate
* Mitnick: kidnapped by traders, put in stasis, tech savvy, Varakaroom office and communication specialist, loved his feathers, wings, and some rather intriguing body parts
* The way that Mitnick knew Harper was his mate and was protective of her from the very beginning
* Mitnick’s unique differences from other aliens
* The enhanced healing time available and all the other options one had as enhancements that made life easier in outer space
* Harper’s immediate friendship with Mandy (book one of the series)
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing
* Getting to return to the series and realizing that the Varakartoom has many members on board that might star in a book of their own
* All of it really except…

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Batok: crime lord, eater of aliens and humans, evil, nearly killed Harper
* Having to wait to find out who will have their story told next

Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Definitely

Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

4.5 stars. Harper, the female human journalist lead, woke up and found herself in a world populated by aliens, in the grip of a crime boss who tossed her into his secure vault to starve. (Mit)Nick, the male alien with avian characteristics and wings, was part of his mercenary team stealing from that crime boss when he found himself certain he needed to break into the vault. Finding his mate nearly dead, he carefully hid her from his crew mates, placed her in a stasis pod and began healing her.

Now, a year later, Nick is running out of resources for his pod and goes to borrow from the ship. When his captain spots him, his secret is discovered and he’s separated from Harper so she can “recover” without him hovering. But separating him from his mate will literally cause him to go insane. Harper needs to find her way back to him, and then they need to find a way to get the crime boss to leave them alone…

This story is dual POV, well written, and a fast-paced, steamy, sci fi romance. I enjoyed Harper’s resilience and determination, as well as the way she faced her fears. I enjoyed Nick’s devotion and focus, as well as his technological skills and willingness to deploy them in creative ways. I enjoyed the relationship development and the intimate scenes. I enjoyed the secondary character integration and engagement. I enjoyed seeing the rest of the crew as found family and the banter and care and play between them. I’m looking forward to more in this series.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Harper was abducted by aliens and then left to die in a vault by a ruthless crime lord. She is discovered almost dead from starvation by hacker Mitnick. Since his captain doesn't allow for mates on board, Mitnick steals Harper away into a stasis pod for her to heal. When he is discovered stealing medical supplies for her, the jig is up and he is imprisoned in the brig while Harper is given full medical care. When Harper regains consciousness, she has no idea who she is to Mitnick, but he's unwilling to let them be separated, either by his crew or by the crime lord, who is looking for Harper.

As an investigative reporter, Harper wants the facts. She needs to find information for herself and won't take things at face value. She's intrigued by Mitnick and can't deny the strong attraction she feels for him. However, her logical side makes her hold herself back to make sure that she isn't getting overwhelmed by her feelings. I found her struggle between emotions and logic, as well as her pursuit to regain agency to be extremely relatable. Mitnick's personality is a bit more dichotomous, as he toggles between cold analytical actions and fiery behavior ruled by his mating instincts. He has a great sense of humor, but he's also rather violent. He made for an interesting male lead, though his abrupt behavior changes occasionally got troublesome.

Stolen by the Alien Mercenary is a fun alien romance with two very logical characters struggling with instincts and feelings.

Great series I'm thoroughly enjoying each book. Love seeing Mitnick get his story and find his mate. He is smart, courageous, absolutely committed to his mate when he finds her near death locked in a vault. He hides her away in a stasis pod while healing her because he's afraid she will be removed from him. Noone knows how his species reacts in a mating heat so after the captain finds Harper and puts Mitnick in jail separating the pair, it nearly ends badly. Harper is strong minded, curious, determined to find answers when she wakes up for a second time being kidnapped and put in stasis. She is not about to let the cpt keep her and Mitnick apart after discovering he has been the one secretly texting her and filling her in on everything she wants to know. But there is a crimelord after Harper so Mitnick develops a plan to keep harper safe while also finding Batok and taking him and his operation down.

Wonderful real characters, fantastic world building and creating a plot that is cohesive, grabs and keeps your interest while intertwining all the characters from aboard the mercenary ship the Varakartoom into each story in some way.

I'm loving each shipmate getting their happy ending and finding their mates one by one and all the drama, suspense, danger, and excitement each couple has to face before finding love together.

can't wait to read about the next ship mate and what feisty, fun, bad ass human woman or non human mate they will find and the challenges they will face together.

Stolen By the Alien Mercenary is the second book of the Monster Mercenary Mates series by Robin O'Connor. As with many books of this genre, this brings together a sexy, alpha type humanoid alien and a human woman.

The human woman, Harper, was kidnapped once from Earth by an alien criminal boss and imprisoned. She then finds herself kidnapped once again. This time by Mitnik - a great winged alien warrior, who is a member of a mercenary crew, one whose captain has already mated with a human. But it's far more complicated than that. Mitnik has a traumatic past and as a result his crew don't understand everything about his species. Mitnik knows that Harper is his fated mate, however, Harper is injured and Mitnik is working on instinct.

The monster mercenaries are an interesting, rag tag band of sci fi/nearly supernatural beings. They all their eccentricities, and there is a lot of seemingly suspicious characters. Harper and Mitnik have a complicated path to love, but I found myself enjoying Harper's open and honest efforts to find out what happened to her. She is also open and honest about her attraction to Mitnik. She is a refreshing character and I found myself really connecting with her.

Fated Mate Madness!

Stolen by the Alien Mercenary is book 2 in the Monster Mercenary Mates series and yet another fantastic book. I love that all of these mercenaries are so different from each other in everything from their appearance to their skills, attitudes and intriguing secrets.

We are back on the Varakartoom and what an adventure! Mitnick had a big secret when we last left the end of Caught by the Alien Mercenary and you will not be disappointed as his mystery unfolds here in Stolen by the Alien Mercenary. Get ready for lots of action, intense drama, a really bad dude, formed family and friends and the pull of a fated mate that cannot be denied! I am excited for the next book in the series and can’t wait to find out which sexy mercenary will be up next!

I would really recommend starting this series from the beginning. Start with Protected by the Alien Mercenary which is Part of the My Monster, My Protector series but linked to this world and those characters do make an appearance in Stolen by the Alien Mercenary.

Better yet, if you really want have a little exciting back story of the Varakartoom (the Mercenary ship) and their compelling crew go back and read Robin O’Connor’s Gladiators of the Vagabond series! You won’t regret it!

Journalism student Harper has been abducted from earth by intergalactic human traffickers. In awakening from stasis, she finds herself left for dead, locked in a cavernous tomb on a desolate, resource-stripped planet. Starving, dehydrated, and near death, she thinks she’s hallucinating when a gorgeous humanoid creature with giant wings frees her.

Avian-like alien Mitnick is compelled by his overwhelming mating instinct to search for an unknown something on the grim dying planet he’s been sent to on a mission to secure whatever’s left of its valuable spoils. When he saves the dying human woman amid the haul, his second heart wakes and he sneaks her aboard the Varakartoom, the vessel on which he lives and works, stealthily keeping her in stasis to heal for about a year before his commander discovers it.

Unbeknownst to any of them, Harper was implanted with tracking devices by the crimelord who locked her away. Mitnick must try to thwart the attacks and keep his precious mate safe.

This is another great book by Robin O’Connor with wonderfully imaginative world building.

Independent reviewer for BookSirens, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is book 2 in the Monster Mercenary Mates series, and you really should read book 1, Caught by the Alien Mercenary. It will set the scene for this book, but also give you a better picture of Asmoded and his crew and how they all interact.

Mitnick saves Harper from the vault, after she was locked up by her previous captor. He manages to smuggle her on boeard and keep her for a whole year before he gets found out! She is his mate, and he will look after her, which ever way he can!

I really enjoyed this second instalment of this series.

Again, it's not a complicated plot, and it is plenty steamy but it's a slower burn than book one, and a bit darker. Harper's previous captor was not the most pleasant of beings and she suffered at his hands. Nick loves Harper, knows she belongs to him, he just has to bide his time til they can be together.

I loved that Nick was only Nick to Harper, and everyone else had to call him by his full name. I loved that Mandy plays a huge part here, as does Asmoded and the rest of the crew.

The next book is set up nicely, and I look forward to reading it!

4 very VERY good stars

Locked in a vault and left to die on a desolate mining planet, Harper is rescued at the least minute. Mitnick knows Harper is his fated mate as soon as his hand touches her skin and hides her in his cabin in fear of begin separated from her before he can claim her as his own. The crew of the Varakartoom are a motley bunch of various alien species, but Mitnick was undoubtedly the prettiest. With angel wings, a crest of feathers on his head and complete devotion to his mate, who wouldn’t want to succumb to this alien’s charms (his two c*cks don’t hurt either). I loved how Mitnick was forever wrapping his wings around Harper to protect and comfort her. When he took to the skies with Harper in his arms, I had a flashback of Pygar in Barbarella, one of my favorite films when I was young. Despite all the turmoil, I loved Harper’s bravery and spirit, although she did have a tendency to overthink things. She and Mitnick made a great team, and their adventure in trying to bring down Batok was fun and exciting with both danger and steamy interludes.

When Mitnick discovered his mate, he never dreamed that they'd face so many challenges. First he had to wait for Harper to recover from being starved and dehydrated in the back of a vault, then he had to suffer because nobody understood his mating behavior.

Harper sensed that Mitnick, or Nick as she called him, was in distress and insisted on being taken to see him and when she saw what he was going through, she had a fit. Asmoded and Dravion the doctor quickly saw to it that Nick received proper care. In the process, they learned that Harper was in danger because the crime boss had had implants stored in her brain.

The implants were removed and Harper and Nick went on a series of misadventures to rival the Perils of Pauline as they tried to evade the gangster without endangering the crew of the Varakatoom.

In the end, all was well that ended well and the Varakatoom has a new crew member as Harper and Nick are enjoying being mates and the rest of the crew is glad to have Harper along for the ride.

Stolen by the Alien Mercenary
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Left to slowly starve to death in a vault, not knowing why, Harper was stunned to wake up once again on another alien ship. He found her while they were on a mission, hid her for almost a year while she slept. Book 2 in the Monster Mercenary Mates series, but still completely able to read as a standalone, Stolen by the Alien Mercenary is Mitnick and Harper’s story. This has the insta-love and touch her and die tropes.

I really enjoyed this book. Usually, with the alien and human mate plot you can see what’s coming and how they overcome the obstacles to be together. This was more of a story of revenge for the MC with their romance as the driving force. It was an Insta-connection that neither really fought, but had to deal with the skeletons in their closet for closure before moving on. Once a again Robin O’Connor gave us a quick fun read, full of adventure and spice.

Stolen by the Alien Mercenary is a thrilling Sci-Fi Romance that follows the misfortune of MFC Harper who’d been abducted from Earth and become the property of minor alien crime lord Batok.
MMC Mitnick is an alien mercenary hired to break into a vault belonging to Batok located on a mining planet.
What he finds inside turns out to not only be treasures for his captain and crew, but Harper nearly dead, and his mate after his secondary heart wakes for her.
Trouble looms though after Mitnick sneaks Harper aboard his ship and keeps her in stasis while she heals. His secret is found out and Mitnick is thrown in the brig for his actions but remains determined to have and protect his mate.
This was another nicely written story in the series with Harper and Mitnick’s adventure filled with action, intrigue, steamy passion, and a few surprises along the way.

I found the first third of the story nonsensical. It was disappointing and frustrating because there was irrational injustice perpetrated on Mitnick and Harper. I think it was the way Mandy and Asmoded infantalized Harper by choosing to make decisions for her without consulting her or giving her all the information she needed to make her own decisions. Harper described it as being treated like glass. They also assumed that Mitnick would harm Harper even though he never did anything to hurt her while she had been in his care. I felt stressed reading this part of the story.

The rest of the story got a little better. They went on an adventure and found their HEA. I liked the first story of the series better even though the hero of this story had awesome white wings.

I really enjoyed this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Harper and Mitnick. Lots of human abduction stories are for breeding or slavery or something of the like. But Harper was a 'package' for a crime lord who locked her in his vault for the information device implanted in her head. She didn't need to be alive for him to retrieve it. It was a new cruelty to allow someone to slowly die of dehydration, starvation, and possibly lack of oxygen. Mitnick stole her from the vault and secretly kept her in a stasis pod in his room to recover- going against the rules of his captain and the ship. And when she was taken to med bay, Mitnick's control snapped. This scenario had me hooked. I liked how Harper and Nick communicated and began to bond even before they met. This story was a fun adventure. 4 stars

This highly entertaining story that's about Harper and Mitnick was enjoyable to read. This is the second book in this entrancing series. Harper was abducted from Earth during her sleep and wakes up belonging to an alien crime lord, Batok, who owns a mining company. She's later thrown into a vault with their bounty. The Varakartoom crew are attacking the mining company for the ores and gems and the rumor of them having human women hidden in the mines that need rescuing. Under fire Mitnick is picking the vault and with help of another crew member, they opened the vault which has a bad odor. The crew start bagging the ore and gems. Mitnick is wondering about the smell and ventures further into the vault. He finds a frail Harper who makes his heartbeat, his mate. He takes her to their ship. What occurs afterwards is a wonderful entertaining enjoyable story I volunteer to read and review.

We first meet Harper as she is being dragged into a vault by an alien after she tried to escape. She is a human who was kidnapped and ended up somewhere far from home and sold to a crime lord. She is scared.

Mitnick is a mercenary hacker on a mission. As he is working he feels he must open a vault. Even as time is running out, he must open this vault. He doesn't know why it feels so urgent, but he must. Finally it opens. As he follows his instincts he is drawn to the back, to a pile of rags. Is it rags? No, it's a person almost dead. His instincts say to protect, so he takes her to his cabin on board the ship.

And their story begins. A story of awakening, to a new world, new customs, new life. Of finding friendship, acceptance, and love.

I highly recommend this story and it's prequel.

This alien romance was such an exciting read! I loved how expressive the male main character is – his body language and emotions really come through on the page. The female lead has her own journey as she finds her way around her new life, which makes her very relatable and interesting to follow.

What I especially enjoyed is how the series is structured. Each book focuses on a different couple, but the characters are interconnected throughout, so you get to know some in one story and then dive deeper into their own adventures later. The back and forth between the characters makes it feel like a living, breathing world you want to come back to again and again.

The best in the series, so far. A bit disjointed, but I’m growing to enjoy the ship the interconnected stories take place on and I’m interested in the characters. I don’t think this can be read as a standalone. While a standalone reader won’t be totally lost, it would be difficult. Great read!

Mitnick(Nick), nerdy hacker but hot alien mercenary, finds her in a vault on the brink of death. He sees her and knows that she's mate. His mating bond is strong. He's protective, possessive and will do anything to keep her safe. Even if it means going against the captain.

Harper, one night she's going to sleep in her dorm room and aspiring to be a journalist. 300 yrs later she's being pulled out of a stasis pod. She trys to escape only to be thrown in a vault and being starved to death. She doesn't even see Nick and she feels a pull to him. She proves she's just as protective of him by standing up to scarry aliens more than twice her size.

The characters, the plot, the story buildup, the twist and turns were all perfectly written. Did I mention the spice... 🥵🥵... hello... a pleasure and a mateing... 🍆🍆woooow! The adventure they go on is what brings them together and I love that for them.

The author is new to me. I liked her writing style.

This is a standalone. The storyline was well thought out. The flow was good. I liked that both the H- Nick (Mitnick) nd Harper were strong people. Action through out .Steam to the romance/mating.

I also liked that Nick seemed to instinctively know what Harper needed. Whether it was emotional support to help her with getting over her multiply kidnappings and abuse form the crime lord. Or suppling her with supplies or information she would need .

The characters were well described. I could feel Harpers anxiety and determination to not let anything get in her way with finding the truth.

I loved their interactions.

Well done.

This is the story of the relationship between Harper, a human woman, and Mitnick, a male Mithrakon (bird-like creature). He is a hacker who manages to rescue her from a vault in which she is dying. He recognizes right away that she is his mate and can not bear to be parted from her from then on. Harper is a lucky thing to inspire such loyalty and protectiveness, while Nick has found himself an intelligent, brave and resourceful woman who is his perfect match. They go on an exciting and action-packed adventure. The plot, combined with Robin O'Connor's talent for storytelling and world building, makes this story a highly entertaining page-turner.

I love this action packed, thrilling and entertaining series. Mitnick is a fascinating character, alien mercenary, brilliant hacker and heartwarming in his care of his mate Harper. She was abducted by aliens, sold to criminal lord Batok. He locks her in a safe. Mitnick opens the safe and finds Harper hiding, unconscious near death. He hides Harper in a stasis pod in his quarters, slowly feeding and healing her, desperately hoping his mate will wake. This is a beautifully crafted story filled with emotion, surprises, misunderstandings, dangerous situations and a wonderful happy ending. Great reading, I can’t wait for next book 🥰❤️‍🔥

Mitnick finds his mate near death. To keep her, he heals her in secret. When the rest of his crew finds out, they take her medical and put him in a detention cell. Both suffer from the separation. When they find out she has a tracker. He must steal a shuttle and flee to find answers and keep her safe. This is a great story. I kept having to read it to see what happened next. This story is action-packed, with lots of steam and heat. I highly recommend you read this book and all the other books in the series. I can't wait for the next book and to see which mercenary gets his story told next.

I was so used to reading the fated mates trope, where fated mates, although not together instantly, are in proximity. But this? Harper and Mitnick were being separated. Although with good intention, it was frustrating to see both of them suffer from the bond separation. But it's all worth it, the way they felt the mate bond and were reunited. I live for that happiness and the touch of spice. The secondary characters, too, the crew—I wonder if they'll get their own stories. It would be a perfect happy ever after for this motley crew. I always have a soft spot for the Found Family Trope.I've been enjoying Robin's work, and I look forward to the upcoming books.

A human woman stolen from Earth and trapped. An alien mercenary compelled to free her and nurse her back to health. Then trouble starts when others start to interfere with their bond. Oh and did we forget the evil guy who stole her in the first place and is tracking her still for who knows what reason?
Lots of action and a space adventure. There’s the instalove of fated mates but with a bit of a twist as people good natured but annoyingly interfere with the two as they try to heal and connect. If you like fated mates and/or space adventures with romance this is a great book for you!.
