101 Amazing Facts about Jack the Ripper
It is 1888 and the foggy streets of Whitechapel, one of the poorest areas of Victorian London, are gripped by fear. Five women thought have been murdered by the same hand, all but one of their corpses terrifyingly mutilated. But who were these women? And who could the murderer be? This fascinating book contains over one hundred facts about the awful crimes of the serial killer we all know as Jack the Ripper. Organised into sections covering each individual victim, clues to the Ripper's identity, possible suspects and more, this is an excellent addition to any classic crime fan's bookshelf.

When I read Jack Goldstein's 101 Amazing Facts about William Shakespeare, there wasn't anything in there that I didn't already know. It was an enjoyable book, though. 101 Amazing Facts about Jack the Ripper had lots of info I didn't know about the backgrounds of the women who were killed. They seemed more real as human beings after reading about their bad marriages and home problems. There were also much older than the movies portray them, all but one in her mid to late forties. I'm doing research for a fictional story and this short volume gave me lots of information.

I was rather disappointed with this book, mainly because as many others have said, a lot of the 'facts' are already well known, a few new to myself and maybe to others too. But I was also disappointed because many of the 'amazing facts' seemed more of a statement than an actually fact. As well as the images included, a few of them are rather hard to read and understand, so I don't think they should've worried about including them within the booklet.
When I first brought the book online, I was also expecting a nice, thicker book that the 50 odd pages that was really the booklet. For the price I had paid, if I had known how small the book was, I wouldn't of brought it at all.
But at the end of the day I'm also glad for it because of the few facts that I didn't know at all.

Not bad, it is just that you can get the same information on YouTube or a TV special.

Basically this book does exactly what you expect and gives 101 facts on Jack the Ripper. I think that Jack the Ripper and serial killers on the whole are fascinating subjects and this book was quite punchy with the facts being split over the different subjects. I did know most of them already but there were a few that are new to me.

Interesting . It goes into detail about each murder, so with photos of the death certificates.
The letters that the Ripper wrote to the police are also here, with a bit of analysis on each of them.
A list of suspects is also included.

extremely disappointing, anyone interested in Jack the Ripper already knows these facts which are supposed to be "amazing" . Plus a lot of grammmatical and spelling mistakes
