Cet ouvrage didactique et extensif décrit bien l'ensemble géo-culturel du Maghreb de l'ouest : les racines africaines et sahéliennes de ce pays y sont parfaitement décrites et en génèrent une explication très actuelle.

Ce livre est pas mal pour apprendre l'histoire du Maroc, depuis le Royaume de Maurétanie, jusqu'à nos jours. Mais il s'agit d'un livre commercial destiné à être vendu au Maroc, donc ne déviant le plus souvent pas du narratif "acceptable" par l'Etat marocain.
