A good soldier follows orders!

U.S. Army Ranger Logan Reed's Vermont hometown has turned into hell. Logan is now known as either the hot-'n'-available widower or the town hero. And with the memory of his last mission still raw, the last thing he wants is to be called a hero. What he does want is the bold, redheaded stranger who makes his libido stand at attention.

Sadie Bannerman is in town to help her pregnant twin…and to lie low until the world learns she's the author of the hottest new erotica novel! Thanks to her explosive chemistry with Logan, she's getting plenty of naughty inspiration for her next book. Because this supersexy soldier knows exactly how to follow her every command.

Cute mind candy about a romance between an Army Ranger and an erotica author. Army Ranger Logan is on R&R following a mission that left his partner injured. Sadie is visiting her pregnant sister in a small town and also trying to avoid press until she can reveal she is the person behind the pen name that wrote an international bestseller. In addition to the romance and steamy sex scenes, the book touches on the balance between work and personal life. Quick, happy read.

An erotica writer writing a story about an erotica writer writing a story, complete with concerns and unfounded preconceptions about what readers think about the author. Meta. (Insert your favourite Inception portmanteau here)

I was initially disappointed as I thought Stone was going to introduce a really strong, truly dominant heroine, which is not something I've seen under the Harlequin/Mills and Boon banner. This could have been a far better effort to mainstream BDSM than that book could have ever been, or at start a serious dialogue about roles without jumping straight to the extremes, but oh well... Still, Sadie is very confident, direct about exactly what she wants, and often has to overcome Logan's quiet reserve and small-town manners to get it. Wow, that is really really hot.

The entanglements of their careers and secrets run dramatically in the background, and provide more than enough friction to draw out the required tension and stress to make them realise what they risk if paradoxically, they don't risk everything. The ending is simply sublime, without any sense of corniness or forcing at all. In that sense, it's a great success, just sit back and enjoy the ride!

Command Control

Bestselling author Sadie Bannerman travels incognito to small-town Vermont to lend a hand to her pregnant twin. Sadie isn't looking for a relationship, but wouldn't mind an intense fling with sexy Army Ranger, Logan Reed. Reeling in the aftermath of his wife's death and a mission gone wrong, Logan is all too willing, but will he still be interested when Sadie's real identity is revealed to the world?

Despite the intriguing premise, the romance falls rather flat.

To begin with, the hints at a dominant heroine and compelling BDSM tale are completely misleading (perhaps to be expected as this is a Harlequin) as Sadie's kink is nothing more than some mild dirty talk and a couple of pink ribbons (see the cover).

Despite the strong physical attraction and steamy interactions between the confident Sadie and more reserved Logan, their emotional connection is lacking. He is still hung up on his late wife and concerned about his future in the Rangers. She is preoccupied with her guilt over choosing her career over her family (even though she obviously hasn't), and the angst over the revelation of her erotica pen name is completely overblown.

Regardless of these issues, this is a light, quick and sweet read, and the ending actually makes it all worthwhile.

Easy, light read and fit the bill for me.

Fun and non- complex and whilst I would not want to read a lot of these kinds of formulaic stories one after the other, this one worked for me.

Sweet relationship with sweet characters... Insta lust and Insta love and a really minor angst.

3.5 stars for an easy enjoyable read.

Command Control (Uniformly Hot) by Sara Jane Stone is truly an original romance between an Army Ranger and an author of erotica. This unique combination of character occupations develops beautifully into a hot, engrossing novel. After reading a couple of Ms. Stone’s earlier books, I find her to be an extremely talented author with a logical, succinct, and well thought-out writing style.

Couldn't get into this one. I barely finished it. The plot seemed absurd to me at times, and I never could "feel" the characters. Maybe it was just me.

I've been a huge fan of Sara Jane Stone since her debut novel Command Performance , so I have been anxiously awaiting the release of her followup novel Command Control and I am very happy to report that I was not disappointed. Command Control is another sexy, fun novel with a super hot soldier and a strong female lead. The characters are lovable and relatable, the sex is hot and the storyline kept me engaged right from the start.

Sadie: I don't think that I have ever fallen for a character as quickly as I fell for Sadie. From the very first page she is completely lovable and will have you cheering for her at every turn. She is smart, driven, and sassy--the epitome of a strong female lead--but she is also vulnerable and at times insecure making her incredibly easy to relate to. She is incredibly driven by her career goals, and her love for her family.
I found myself wishing that she didn't only exist in the pages of a book so that we could be friends.

Logan: From the very start Logan captured my heart. A widower and a soldier, struggling with his grief, guilt and desire to return to the field, Logan is a complex character with huge emotional depth. Plus, he's strong and capable--not to mention extremely hot!

The story: Sadie and Logan meet in a small town in VT where both are trying to escape from the world. Sadie is helping her twin sister with her new baby and lying low before the world discovers that she is the author of a best selling erotica novel, and Logan is on mandated R&R after a mission gone bad. Neither feels completely at ease with the other people in town, but both feel completely at ease with each other. What begins as a simple (but incredibly hot) fling, becomes something much more for both, but they have to figure out how to balance their careers and love. The story is at times hilarious, at times emotional and at times super hot; it will keep you entertained and engaged!

In short: Command Control is a fun, flirty, sexy romance novel that should be on your must-read list!

Contemporary romance with protected sex. Lots & lots of sex!

This was a pretty good story of a soldier on mandatory leave for a mistake he made while rescuing some aid workers. One of his fellow soldiers was shot, but not seriously. He feels guilty none the less. He was still grieving for his wife, who died of cancer.

Sadie is an author of erotica & ready to take her books to another level. She's kept her identity a secret, but things start moving out of her control. Secrets are the trope in this story & both Sadie & Logan keep them hidden. The problem with this story is the amount of time that goes by is maybe a week or 2. Not really enough to trust someone with secrets. I felt the way things panned out rang true & although I was thinking things would have been easier with some honesty, maybe not in real life.

Logan Reed is the Army ranger who messed up the rescue mission in Command Performance. Logan had recently lost his wife to a long battle with cancer, and he thought he was ready to go back into action, but his head wasn’t on straight. His buddy got shot, and now Logan is back home, waiting to be called up again.
Sadie Bannerman is a wildly successful author of erotic romance. She has come home to help her married sister, who is having a baby. Sadie has written her books under a pen name, and plans to reveal her identity in an effort to boost her sales and maybe get a movie contract.
Logan doesn’t want a relationship, he wants a fling, to prove to himself he is done grieving for his wife. Sadie believes her career leads men to confuse her with the characters in her books. Her search for fame clashes with his need for privacy, but they manage to work it all out in the end.

Logan is trying to get his life back together and helping his aunt and avoiding any type of attention, while waiting to be called back to the Seals.
Sadie is an author of erotica books and came to town to help her pregnant sister. With her new book coming out and the public wanting to know who she is she is trying to stay on the down low.
Sadie and Logan have a connection from the first time they see each other, so when Sadie is found out and things become public it makes their relationship very interesting.
If you are looking for a BDSM this is very mild in its story line, however I enjoyed the way Sadie was portrayed not as a over controlling dominate but as an author who wanted to explore.

Sara was kind enough to send me this book also when I won another one from Goodreads. As in her other book this one was something worth reading and should be read in front of a roaring fire, although you may need to turn the AC on because it will get you overheated or on a beach with a cool breeze blowing. Enjoy,

The set up of these books (Command Control and Command Performance) didn't work for me. I think perhaps it's the Blaze format. This was a DNF for me.
