I received this book from the author Chantal Gadoury in exchange for a review :)

Seven Seeds of Summer is a book that will take you into the world of Greek mythology, specifically the myth surround Hades and Persephone. I've personally always found Greek mythology to be interesting, although I am definitely no expert.

The book follows Summer, a college sophomore and artist who is obsessed with the god Hades. After years of painting pictures of him and obsessing over him, she discovers t

As is often the case I received this book free in exchange for a review. Despite that kindness I am absolutely honest about it below.

This is a twisted love story drawn strongly from classic Greek mythology. Man loves woman, woman secretly loves man but doesn't really quite know it yet or even realize that he does, in fact exist. What happens next is left as an exercise to the reader but does engage the reader's interest quite strongly and has the feel of all those Greek myths that we either pay

Seven Seeds of Summer is a young adult fiction about an American art college student, Summer. Summer is an awkward introvert who doesn’t really have any friends and seems to prefer it that way. Summer’s passion is painting; I love the author’s descriptions of Summer painting, I love the way Summer feels the colours; I feel the author must love to paint too.

The story follows Summer from the start of her summer break from college. Her mother, who she is clearly not close to, collects her from col

I was startled by the depth and substance in this book. It’s very unique in the sense that it contains a knowledge and mystery that I never got from most of the books I’ve read. The usage of words, the depiction of setting, the haunting feeling I get from the dialogue of the characters is consuming.

The story starts with a girl named Summer who was hanging out with her friend Maggie. This was a school day, and like all usual school days, everything was pretty normal. She got into the car with her

***Reviewed as part of the Blog Tour for this novel hosted by Bewitching Book Tours. To read the full review of this novel, please visit my blog on 30 September 2014***

This novel is difficult to sum up as I have incredibly mixed feelings about it.

On one hand, I thoroughly loved the plot and general idea of the story. It was a very unique idea for a paranormal romance and stands out among the sea of Twilight clones. The ties in with Greek mythology were very intriguing and wove elements of myster

*I would like to thank Waldorf Publishing for an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

Seven Seeds of Summer is an extremely interesting premise for a book but the execution of the story itself lacked something to be desired. Chantal Gardoury is a very young author and I see great promise in her future with more experience and practice. Many times there were oddly used phrases, confusing language, and tenses that seemed to be twisted around. In addition, there were m

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for a honest review

Seven Seeds of Summer was an excellent book, it had a great plot, suspense, and a great love story. What was great about it was that we had time to get to know Summer and see the relationship bloom from her and her mysterious man. When tragedy strikes in Greece we feel for Summer, I really felt bad for her and wanted things to be ok for her. Pretty much once we get to Greece the action and suspense kicks in, the mystery of Had

I found this read to be a mixed bag. The writing has a few hitches, oddly worded phrases, misuses of words and other technical issues. The plot is interesting with only a few flow issues. I see potential for a very well done story once the writing aspect is repaired. I believe this will fix the flow and character issues as they seem to be related to the writing and not other issues. I can see this becoming a popular YA book especially with the mythological threads. I received an ARC in exchange ...more

If you love anything about Greek mythology you will love diving into this book. Every time I picked up this book I felt like I was taken to another place and thats the one thing I love about books. The character development was spot on and I felt like I knew Summer and Hades like they were one of my friends. I can't wait to read another piece by Chantal!

I won this book and would like to thank the author. This book isn't the type I would normally get, but it kept my attention enough so I finished the book. Summer is having a hard time if it. For a god Hades is being very understanding, but pushing for what he wants and they spend a lot of time clashing.
