There's nothing more pure than the chord of greatness and that only a 'Master' can touch. So, I really think both have their own place and charm in society..It's ultimately you who has to decide what to choose - 'Flamboyance or Excellence', 'Moments or Legacy', 'Jack or Master'...(less)

Book Review: Jack & Master by Karan Verma: A Superb Debut With A Promise of Lot More To Come

This is not the best from Karan Verma as it is yet to come. But there is a sincere and clear promise in his writing that he has undoubtedly the potential to produce one in the times to come. Jack & Master: A tale of friendship, passion and glory is an excellently molded and flawlessly written story of two extremely opposite guys who meet for the first time i

Thoroughly enjoyed reading the book :)
The story described in the book flows beautifully through the events in lives of 2 best friends : Jack and Master. It unravels the changes in their lives as they grow up -- personal and professional so nicely that very soon you start feeling like being a part of the book.
The author has very nicely described the emotional aspects and dilemma which characters get in. This gives a very realistic touch to the story.

It was inspiring to read Jack's part especially

As far as i feel this book is too good by a first time writer which is high on literary quotient too :)
Jack of all trades ' and 'Master of One', a question everybody has to address at some point in life and the writer has put it across brilliantly and given us 2 characters we'll carry with us for a long time!!
It will be a fun ride for the readers, may be of any age groups, its about college friends, its about romance, its about pranks, its about state politics which goes on with the current scenar

One of the largely enthralling works of fiction the book just reverberates with you where you will by no means sense that the tempo is drooping but was in the vein of a zephyr of unsullied air in the globe of creative writing with a comprehensive wrap up and it has all the essentials that one can imagine off from excitement, passion, hilarity exploits, to obscurity.

This is an awesome story. The way how 2 different characters met and became good friends and how they kept meeting on frequent intervals during their life journey was excellently narrated in this book.

There were little twists and turns as well since there was Politics involved later in the story and had a great ending. Good job done by the author.
The book has certainly made me feel it is worth reading it.

All the Best Karan!!

Jack & Master - A tale of Friendship, Passion and Glory is set in the backdrop of Goa, the story revolves mainly around two characters (Jack & Siddarath). Both the characters have their own charm. It dwells upon the struggles and their triumphs in their journey of life. The flow of the story is pleasant, language simple. The end had predictable twist. It is a feel good book. The author Karan Verma has done a good job considering it is his first book.

A very gripping and a very smart story.....a story which not only holds u till the end but also make us smile all the way ....the twist in the story are such that it makes the readers ( as far as i feel) keep on guessing the next scene but the author has kept it dicey and smart . The end is quite encouraging and well planned .
a superb work

Spring cleaning is a good idea, when I did so I found a book stashed under my bed I had kept it there for my before bed reading.
The author Karan Verma, debuts with this novel, Jack And Master published by Rupa ISBN 9788129130938. I really enjoyed the book with its racy pace, elegant, yet everyday language that is grammatically correct.
It is in the genre of fiction rightly so. Other than the Name Goa, and stray use of something called Vasco Hall, a Cavalosseim here and a Calangute there the geo

Pleasant story of two friends with complete different personalities and eventually how their lives cross path to put them against each other. Beautiful writing style, good plot (though some places it can remind you of popular scenes of Bollywood hindi movies). It was quick read and capable to engross reader in the story. The reason still 3 star is somewhere story lost its hook mid way and never regained back. Somewhere story became predictable and unreasonable to reach to conclusion author wante ...more

It's a story about 2 friends Jack and Master. As the name suggest one is Jack of all trades and another is Master of one. Master aka Siddharth is a master in economy where as Jack is good is almost everything. The story takes a grip at the start highlighting the features about the two friends and their personal lives and then it takes a leap and it becomes draggy and conceptualised for example some of the economic terms everyone might not understand. The draggy part of the book felt boring accord ...more
