Just One Night #2

Just One Night, Part 2

Rate this book
NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR, ELLE CASEY, brings readers PART 2 in the 6-part contemporary romance serial novel, JUST ONE NIGHT.

[This book is PART 2. Readers should begin by reading PART 1 first.]

Jennifer is suffering a serious man hangover when her best friend Mia swoops in and forces her out of her apartment for a night of good old-fashioned girlfriend fun. It seems like just the ticket to help her move on and follow through with her plan for a new perspective on life and men ... until everything goes really right and then just as quickly goes really wrong. William would love to focus on his work to the exclusion of all else, but his annoying assistant and nagging calendar have other ideas. When the two of them are joined by his father (the boss) and the threat of the unleashing of his brother (the troublemaker), he has little choice but to obey their commands and attend the event that just might net them some new clients. Or, perhaps, something none of them were bargaining for.

This ebook is Part 2 of the contemporary romance serial novel, JUST ONE NIGHT, 21,000 words or 85 paper pages long. The story continues with Parts 3-6.

Content warning: Due to sexy situations and content, this book is definitely not appropriate for younger readers.

A note from Elle about this series: Hello readers! I had such a great time writing this serial. Like you, I had no idea what was going to happen from one part to the next. I didn't even know how many parts there would be. It was great having all the feedback from my readers as each part was released; it definitely influenced the end result. Edward's story, JUST ONE WEEK, is coming soon in 2016. Add it to your Goodreads shelf today!

Just One Night, Part 2 is the second in the serial novella series, Just One Night by Elle Casey.

Oh…My…Gosh! And now we have a villain. My plan is to read these short novellas in between my other books and I can see that this is going to be a problem because I am totally hooked.

Jennifer has spent the week after her date with William holed up in her apartment drowning herself in orange juice. One night was not going to be enough. She let her heart get involved. But the agreement was one night, no strings, no commitments. That’s it.

William has spent the week trying his best to pay attention but he is constantly distracted by the memories of his date with Jennifer. Plus the constant distraction of his crazy office assistant. I love her by the way.

Just an aside here, whenever it is William’s chapter, I totally have Hugh Grant in my mind.

Hugh Grant:

An intervention by Jennifer’s best friend, Mia, gets her out for the night and of course, William is there. Their reunion is epic and HOT. But there are consequences. Enter into the picture the villain. We also get to meet William’s brother, Edward, and he seems to be every bit the rogue William describes him as.

hand on thigh under table

“The notion of coming home skitters across my mind as we find our groove and deepen the kiss. My pulse is growing more rapid by the second.”

kissing

Yes, there is an epic cliffhanger but I am determined to stick to my schedule with these. So I will have to wait just a bit before I see what happens next as I bite my fingernails down to the quick.

FOUR FABULOUS STARS.

"Price Charming does not exsist, trust me on this."

Sexy, flirty and outrageously addictive this second part to a serial romance was even better than the first. One lovely British businessman and one brilliant stateside beauty come together once again as the drama to their ongoing relationship unfolds. I can't recommend this mini-series enough, I love Elle Casey and her writing style. If you want a quick, sexy and amusing series to get involved in then join in and grab these books. In this installment we get a chance to see Jennifer and William accidentally bumping into each other after their first encounter left them both more than a little shaken by their reaction to how they feel about one another. They both find themselves still in denial about wanting 'just one night'... Unable to resist the temptation of another taste of their connection, we see more chemistry, more flirty banter and more confusion as the story continues. I can't wait for more and even though this book left with unanswered questions it just makes the anticipation even more sweeter ... I'm ready for part three, Mrs Casey.

That was me before starting this one:

That was me throughout the book:

There was Jennifer, she's so great, I want her to be my BFF. Give me five girl:)

And there was William, *sigh*.

Oh you British charmer, come to me baby!

Then there was a little bit of this.

And a little bit of that.

And I was like:

This is so hot...

But then, WHAT???

William:

Ingrid bitch:

I loved it! Great job Elle!

Well...

I am scared for the next book but I NEED the next book. Like now.

Once again I seriously LMAO...

At Mia, at Jennifer, at Edward, at William.

Part 2 picks up right where Part 1 left off. Jennifer has bid William

She's wallowing in self-pity. Depressed that William is so perfect and it can't be more than the one night between them. Six days and six gallons of OJ later and Mia (Jennifer's BFF) comes to rescue Jennifer to be her + one at a dinner party.

"I'm not going anywhere, and there's nothing to fix. I'm going to stay here until my liver stops functioning, and then I'm going to slide into a blissful, peaceful, uneventful death."

Guess who also happens to be attending said dinner party....William and his brother Edward.

William proposes that he and Jennifer finish their one-night stand. Which according to William ended prematurely since it wasn't ALL night.

The gang heads to a dance club after the dinner. HOTTEST. SCENE. EVER.

And boy does this one go horribly wrong.

Ingrid....

William...

if you fall for Ingrid's BS!

I am begging....BEGGING.....

please DO NOT let happen what I think is going to happen!

Gah, I need the next book.....

The second installment in this series was just as funny and sexy as the first!

Jennifer & Mia...
description

The story starts six days after Jennifer and William’s one night and Jennifer has realized that she did in fact develop feelings for the Brit. While William's pov shows that he has been thinking about her just as much.

”Our night together was a one-time deal only. I can hardly fault the guy for following the rules, now can I?”

We get to hang out with Jennifer (kick ass name btw) and her BFF Mia (who is just as fun as Jennifer). Mia brings Jennifer to a work related function where William and his brother are both in attendance. From the dinner function Mia and Jennifer bring the brothers to a club.

”I HAVE BEEN POSSESSED BY a demon slut.”

description

The ending was a rough cliffhanger that gave me a bad feeling of where the next installment could go. Although it will bring some drama to the story I’m allergic to evil blackmailing women.

The author has written some truly funny characters and I think Miss Meechum maybe my favorite besides Jennifer and William who are wonderful together!

I'm whipping through these serials like my life depends on it! Loved this one! The sexy Brit and his oh, so seductive ways is back. I love how he and Jennifer keep drawing out their 'one night' into several incidents, I really hope these two see what's really happening between them.
The dialogue is rapid-fire smart and witty, the steam is in full effect and there's no lack of comedic timing, seriously loving this.

Ingrid is a bitch that's really starting to show her claws. Get some dignity woman! The scene at the bar was scorching and I love how things are not overly drawn out. This author really packs quite a story in a few pages. Honestly, an hour to read these little gems.

The only thing I'm worried about is that the author says these serials are based on reader input, so basically we all get to decide where the story goes and how things progress. I must say I'm not a fan of that. A fan of serials with an expiration date? YES. But H.M Ward did the same thing with her Arrangement series and it really went downhill for me. It's actually still going till now, and I stopped reading them several serials ago because things were getting drawn out and ridiculously repetitive. I really, REALLY hope this doesn't happen to this wonderful series. Reader input is ok as long as the author remains in control and has an idea of where the story goes and FINISHES.

Anywho, this is fantastic so far and I can't wait to jump into the third one!!! More delicious William please!

4- This is getting good - Stars

The story continues! And might I say

Jennifer is sad and regretting leaving William after their passionate filled romp in the bedroom... :D She is drowning in misery and having her own pity party.

BFF Mia shows up and needs her help though a work dinner meeting.

Jennifer and William run into each other unexpectedly at this meeting.

This is good though since they both are wanting more than just that one night.

They wind up going to a club and getting hot and bothered and make their way to a more secluded place...

 photo 8864077_zps8add7b51.gif

And that scene in the hallway....WOAH....

All I can say is

hot photo tumblr_lgfzmahCg71qcp9t8_zps6b7e957e.gif

I might need to change my panties...

Unfortunately for them it isn't as secluded as they thought....And guess who saw what happened!!!

bad photo 6493002_zpsb07f135c.gif

The question is what will William have do to save both of their asses?

LOVED Book 2 ❤
LOVED Jennifer ❤
LOVED William ❤❤
and
LOVED Mia ❤

This is book two in the Just One Night series. I don't even know how many books are expected in this series but honestly I don't care. I am just LOVING them and having so much FUN reading them.

If your looking for quick, funny and sexy books, pick this series up.

Really, what's not to love. The two main characters William and Jennifer are great! They are both funny, gorgeous, sexy and HOT! Together they are heating up the pages.

Then there is Mia,that sassy and sexy BFF that always knows what is best. The things she would say to Jennifer cracked me up. I need a BFF like her! LOL

Picking up where book 1 leaves off, we find Jennifer is in a bit of a sexual funk. She is dealing with a huge WILLIAM hangover. This wasn't what she was expecting since her brilliant plan was to just engage in one night of amazing sex with no strings attached and no second date.

William is dealing with his own little crisis. That being, he nowhere near got enough of Jennifer. He can't stop thinking about her, wanting to be with her again.

I won't say there was a divine intervention or anything but someone was definitely watching out for these two because they end up meeting up again. And well, the lust and desire they have for each other cannot be contained!! :)

I will leave the rest to your imagination. Yes, there was more funny moments and more pretty steamy moments! Then the ball is dropped. At the end there was a "OH NO that didn't just happen" moment!!! UGH

Now the waiting. I need book 3 now!!!! (please)

Oh, I am still loving all the British lingo too. I can now add "totty", "stunner" "tosser" and "bollocks" to my list of words!

ETA: This author is literally writing these books as they come out. So book 3 hasn't been written until after book 2 is released.
I'm jumping off this train!!

Ok I'm giving 4 stars for the first 95% of the book. Hated the ending. If the series goes in that direction I will not finish it.

Soapbox moment. Why does GR not list how many books are in this "serial"? I feel like I need to go detective to figure out how long this series is. It's a bit misleading.

I will be waiting until the rest of the series is out before attempting book 3. This new "serial" trend is already getting old.

Write one book, stick 1 price tag on it, and call it a day.

1) I hate novellas
2) I hate cliff hangers.

These things have both those pet peeves.

Hopefully the series will still be worth reading after that cliff. If not, I'll cut my loses and move on.

End rant

FIVE I NEED MORE WILLIAM STARS!!!!!!

I am completely in love with this series so far.
There are parts that have me holding my stomach and laughing so hard and then we get the HOT Panty Soaking scenes!!!
I would like to officially be added to the Elle Casey fan club!!
Thank you for giving me a new hot Brit to drool over and adore!!!

 photo imagejpg1_zps99a1cbb5.jpg

Jennifer and William are both suffering in their own worlds, six days after their night together.
Both can't get the other off their mind.
They each still think that neither of them were looking for more than just a one night fling, but obviously they were truly affected by one another.

I'm also finding myself feeling a bit depressed as well.
Hoping that somehow these two will see each other again.
Of course they will. DUH!!
And OH BOY did their chemistry heat up when they run into each other at a business dinner being held by her friend's boss!!!!

 photo imagejpg2_zpsa0318c01.jpg

The STEAM between Jennifer and William rekindles instantly.
I'm pretty much hot and bothered for the rest of the book.

"I am not a caveman. I am just an English gentleman enjoying a passionate moment with a fun-loving American girl."

Can I also mention again how I love when William speaks in his British slang?!! I LOVE IT!!!

How long must a man pretend to enjoy clubbing before he can get to the rogering bits, anyway?

William finds himself in a bit of a pickle by the end of Part 2 and I'm really worried about how this new predicament will pan out!
I am hoping for the most WONDERFUL HEA for these two, BUT, I'm also praying that this series will continue on for a VERY LONG TIME!!!!

*Updated since this morning*

After discussing with my friend, I've kinda realized how absurd the whole British thing is. As i said in my review for book 1, it was extreme.

British/English people do not talk like this, maybe 100 years ago...

I'd love to know where the author got her source from. As my friend said, maybe Mary Poppins, lol. For an apparent eloquent Englishman, the hero uses a lot of old-fashioned slang that is very rarely used, and if it is, then it's in a verbal jesting way.

No offense to Ms Casey, it's not her fault that she's been misguided.

As for the storyline, I'm just not really keen. Wasn't enjoying ANY of the side characters. For me the best part of the book was the sex. Not worth carrying on for another 350 odd pages.

3.5 Stars!

I decided to review the first and the second part of ‘Just One Night’ together because they are really short. So here it is:

“My brilliant plan is to restore my faith in men by setting up a single night of fantasy that can never be tainted by reality.”

Jennifer is sexually frustrated. She decides that she needs to do something about it. Also she needs to restore her faith in men. So...she places an ad seeking a one night stand:

‘Single, attractive and successful businesswoman seeks very short -term, intimate and discrete affair. No strings, no commitments, no second dates.’

Sounds good but could it get complicated if the perfect guy calls?!

William is a VERY busy CEO of a company found by his father. His work is his life. He doesn’t need any distractions because he had prepared his whole life to do exactly this and he is more than capable. However due to his weird assistant he sees a very interesting ad...and decided to just go with it and call the woman who seeks just one hot night. He is excited and plans the perfect evening. But what if the mysterious woman turns out to be absolutely stunning/beautiful/interesting/charming?!?

The night comes and William turns into Prince Charming and Jennifer- into Cinderella.

However they both want to see each other again but are too stubborn to call. Then at one event...surprise, surprise...they are at the same place...and of course they can’t keep their hands from each other.

“He might be all polite and proper and British on the surface, but oh my … underneath all that starch he’s someone else entirely.”

Okay...after reading the first two series...I am not sure I will continue with the others. I like the writing style. Jennifer and William are both really entertaining but it got a bit boring and the conversations are just too long and meaningless. I found myself skipping through the ‘pages’ a lot while reading the second one. Nothing interesting was happening for a loooong time. I will think about it...maybe I’ll give the third book a chance...

2.5 Stars.. it was okay

Okay.. here goes..

I loved the first part in this series, it was funny, sexy, and well balanced. Part 2 just didn't do it for me, which pains me to say. I love Elle, and am a huge fan. The beginning felt forced with comedy, so much that I rolled my eyes a few times. I did love the dinner scene and the scene when they went to the club. **HOT**

I didn't like the last scene and if Part 3 goes where I think it is, I may just stop there. I think the hit and miss relationship is enough drama and angst, I don't really want any more added to it. I only want to read about Will and Jenn, especially since we get so little with them. I love will and how well Elle writes his character!

We'll see how the next one goes..

3.5 left me dangling stars

Moving on from part 2, we revisit William & Jennifer after their One Night. Both having made an impression on each other, they are set to attend a dinner where they become reacquainted.

I enjoyed the banter & the dual POV, as before, but didn't enjoy the ending.

As has already been said, this trend for serial squirting is annoying at best, utterly frustrating at worst.

After leaving William in the hotel room after their first encounter, Jennifer is struggling to come to terms with the agreement she set up. One night with the man is simply not enough, but that was the deal. William didn't expect her to go running from his room that night, but she did. Unable to reach her, being that they shared very little personal information, he is stuck with just the replay of the night in his own head.

When Mia, Jennifer's best friend drags her to a work social event, the last man she expected to find staring at her from across the room was William.

Screenshot_5

Book two did not disappoint in the steam department. At all. Throw in William's awkwardness and a bit of wall sex and it all just came together perfectly. The one thing that drove me a bit nuts was Mia. Maybe the reason for her being such a fantastic friend will make an appearance at some point, but I wanted to slap that bitch when they were at the club.

There is a bit of a plot twist thrown in with the second installment that I am not 100% sure of yet. I like the dynamic of the initial set up of the story so I am not sure if this more drama filled plot is going to overshadow what was already a fantastic story line or improve upon it... time will tell.

Um did she really end it like that????

Really steamy scene in this little story. Looking forward to more but I think I'll wait until there's more of them out. I'm the worse about waiting for the next book.

I really liked it. There are some parts that I had to read over and over again because they were so hilarious!!!

Here's a scenario where Jennifer and her best friend Mia are having drinks and run into William's brother, except they don't know it's William's brother...

Words come pouring out before I can stop them. "Does everyone in England have crooked teeth like that?"

"Whoa nelly," Mia exclaims, "that's enough champagne for you!" She grabs my glass out of my hand and hands it unceremoniously over to the handsome William-imposter.

She pushes me into the ladies room. "You don't tell people who you just met that their teeth are all fucked up!"

"I didn't say that!" "I like them like that. I was just wondering..."

"Yeah. I heard you the first time. You were wondering if everyone in England has fucked up teeth."

"I know, I don't mean to be a freak. It's just that his teeth reminded me of someone."

I'm glad I gave the second part of this series a try, because it was better than the first one. But still, I didn't love it.

The story was well written, that wasn't the problem for me. I just think something feels off, something is missing. Maybe some deeper development or maybe a great twist of something more interesting that keeps me hooked. That still hasn't happened, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop reading.

I want to know what happens next, and I'm starting to like the characters a bit more, especially William (even though I still don't like his caveman attitude sometimes, I think it's pretty forced). I'm also curious about his brother.

I don't know how two characters can become a worse version of themselves over the span of a few days. They deserve each other really, because I don't see how anyone can be attracted to such behavior from supposedly smart and successful people.

This is not how successful people act in the real world. As a boss, William would probably be the office dick because he seriously had no care whatsoever for his employees. Everyone was beneath him simply because his title says CEO. And yeah, the perks of being a CEO is apparently a flat and an Aston Martin, given by daddy dearest.

Jennifer was still the same, childlike woman from the previous book. Throw in Mia, her equally childlike best friend who didn't know that you can sue for sexual harassment and get paid loads which makes up for losing one's job. Her boss was not even dangerous to begin with, just flirtatious.

"She sighs, blowing the stink of Cheetoes all over my face. I hold my breath to keep from hurling."

Says the woman who hadn't bathe in days. And the fuck is Cheetoes? That was when I decided that I had enough of Jennifer and would stop trying to find anything to like in her.

I cannot take a book seriously when the characters were not represented properly. This book lack so much research and destroyed my respect towards Jennifer and William. Unless the author wants to show that these kind of people exist.

This book picks up where Part One left off. Jennifer is depressed because she wants more than one night from Will. We learn that Will can't stop thinking about Jennifer either.

Mia, Jennifer's bestie comes over because she needs her to attend a business meeting with her, and guess who's there??

Jennifer and Will go through the dinner together and afterwards go to a club with Mia and Edward.

Things get pretty freakin hot in the club between Jen and Will

Will and Jen soon find out that their escapade wasn't so private, now we will see what happens next.

This book was just as great as the first one; funny, sexy and interesting. I loved William even more here. However I had a teeny tiny problem with Jennifer. I felt like her 'heartbreak' and whining where a little over dramatic after just one night. Yes it was great and fantastic blah blah but reading her perspective you would think she was mourning a much longer relationship. Also, I didn't really like her friend Mia, or maybe I just didn't understand her properly. One second, she is encouraging Jennifer to move on and the next she wants her to contact William. Also, her sudden anger at the club was very confusing to me. I did not get why, after she seemed to be enjoying Edward's company, she's suddenly so anxious to leave. Anyways these are all minor problems, I still thoroughly enjoyed the book. Again Chapeaux Elle Casey!

In this one- William and Jennifer regretted how there night just ended and they both wanted more time. They are not able to get each other of their mind.
Their fate gives them another chance when they both meet again in a party where William propose that they didn't spend whole night as per their agreement-just a reason to spend more time with her.
Then they did sex in a dark corner of a club which then lead to William fighting with the bratander and Jennifer to run away from him again.
Pretty good building of the relationship and story. It's slow and effective.
Things are now getting alot complicated because of blackmail.
Excited to real when will happen next.
