Rockabilly crooner Polly Purefoy can't believe her luck when she's approached by Mallory Hayes, a Nashville record producer, with an invitation to join the Honkytonk Angels. There's just one problem. Ms. Hayes moonlights as a dominatrix and she's formulated a theory that submissive band members will make her job easier. Intrigued, Polly agrees to meet sultry Domme Vivien Blackheart. The pretty songbird obeys Vivien's illicit commands with a vulnerability that chips away at the seasoned Domme's icy exterior. But Vivien has been hurt before. And she's resolved never to let another sub into her heart. From their first encounter Polly enjoys every decadent punishment Vivien metes out, but the long, lust-filled sessions in Vivien's dungeon leave Polly wanting more than just spankings from her seductive Mistress. She wants love. And she'll do anything-anything-to get it. Inside From the moment Vivien orders Polly to take off her panties the two engage in wicked-hot BDSM play. A Romantica(r) female/female erotic romance from Ellora's Cave
I’m Paisley Smith! I am a full time freelance writer and can usually be found in front of my computer either writing, chatting, promoting or plotting. It’s a glamorous life…working in one’s pajamas.
I attended college in the Deep South where I obtained a slew of totally useless degrees and developed an unrelenting sense of humor.
My books can be found at Ellora’s Cave , Loose Id, and Cleis Press!
I didn’t know Paisley Smith until recently, when a couple of friends (you know who you are) brought her books to my attention, and I have to thank them for that. Well-written smut can be delightful and Smith’s books – those I have read so far at any rate – definitely are.
In Fall to Pieces, Nashville music producer Mallory Hayes dreams of producing an all-female rockabilly band. Her plan is to bring together “a group of submissives trained to please”, the idea being that to attract the widest audience possible, they’d have to be willing to conform, at least to some extent, and no one is more willing than submissives. She has her eye on Polly Purefoy as the lead singer. Part of the deal is that Polly agrees to be trained by a professional dominatrix, Vivien Blackheart.
That’s about all for the plot, there won’t be many more mentions of music after that, it’s all spanking and dildoes and anal play. It’s joyous and hot and strangely moving when Vivien breaks her own rules against falling for a client.
The novella length is perfect for this story, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Sadly it seems the author stopped at two.
This is one of the few lesbian bdsm novels I have read where the author hasn't wimped out and stayed safe in the bounds of a little tying up and maybe a blindfold. It's also remarkably far from cheesy in spite of the premise. Hot, sexy and romantic. Great read!
Don’t smile that way. A reading map will no further blacken the eternities honkytonk it could singe you in circles type up your face use it for goatseed in the bent beam down at the dark end where lights are slim. Do what I can - remove your face cut and paste it to line my lids muscle it too in this unsuccessful world - its equipment equivalent will be brought to you concealing itself to encapsulate the name it carried all along.
Enjoyable read, although not entirely what I expected.
Did I expect BDSM? Yes. Did it deliver? Yes
Did I expect a more to the plot? Yes Did it deliver? Not really. Other than that they have to pass a dominatrix test to be accepted into the band, there is next to NOTHING about the Honkytonk Angels, and I found that disappointing.
Will I continue with this series? Right now, I'm undecided. I would need to be convinced the next story is more balanced re plot/sex ratio.
Would I recommend this story? Absolutely if you're looking for a book heavy on sex and light on plot. It's a quick, hot read.
