For the free-spirited Park Williams, leaving the relative safety of the Willow Springs Ranch for a remote cabin near Flagstaff to spend some quality alone-time with his new boyfriend seems like a no-brainer. They can get to know each other while hiding away from the bad guys who may or may not be looking to kill his lover. At least it seems like a good idea right up until the minute he is standing on the front porch, with a man he’s known less than three weeks, and who spent two of those weeks in police custody. Oh shit.
Tanner Triplett is having a bad month. After two attempts on his life, he’s helped put his father and brother behind bars, lost his beloved ranch, and oh yeah...stepped out of the closet in a big way. But it remains to be seen if he’s in bigger danger from the men he’s agreed to testify against, or the golden-haired, cosmic-quoting devil trying to kill him with soy-gurt.
Join Park, Tanner, and their dogs Scooby and Taco as they make the move east to the Mountain Shadows Resort to meet up with their new neighbors and join in the fun that is Pulp Friction 2014.
About Pulp Friction 2014 Laura Harner ~ Lee Brazil ~ Havan Fellows ~ T.A. Webb
The Pulp Friction 2014 Collection. Four authors. Four Series. Twenty books. One fiery finale. Spend a year with an eclectic group of strangers brought together through circumstances, as they are tested by life, and emerge as more than friends.
The strongest bonds are forged by fire, cooled in air, smoothed by water, grounded in earth. Although each series can stand alone, we believe reading the books in the order they are released will increase your enjoyment.
This novella revolves around Park and Tanner figuring out how to live with one another and navigate their new relationship. I was happy to see that not everything goes smoothly. For instance, Park is vegan. Tanner -- very much a carnivore. They both have to learn how to compromise and talk about where they want to be. I would have actually given this one 4 stars, but it ended rather abruptly.
I loved Park and Tanner in Park's Lot (book 5 of Willow Springs Ranch). The fact that Laura brought them to Pulp Friction was a stroke of genius. Park gets to spend time with a kid who hasn't been abused and Tanner gets to start reinventing himself. It's a wonderful fresh start for both of them.
I could easily be enticed into the background of this story. Just sayin'.
Caught the error of my schedule early enough but this is still getting read out of order. Stilly .5's causing me grief. No wonder yesterday's installment had characters I didn't know who they were.
Buddy Read with Mish and Sandi. We did this last year and figured it would be fun to do it again. Reading the entire Pulp Friction series in the month of February, one installment a day. I'll review at the end.
When I found out that my authors…yes, they're mine…were going to do bonus books in the Pulp Friction 2014 - Flagstaff series… Well, there was a lot of squealing, jumping up and down, and some serious Muppet flailing. 'Kismet and Cartwheels' is the first of the bonuses within the 'Elemental Connections' series portion of PF'14 and it's written by Laura Harner. The author has integrated a couple of characters from her wildly (oh yeah, it's wild) popular series 'Willow Springs Ranch' with the residents of Mountain Shadows. See why I was squealing?
Park and Tanner, of 'Park's Lot' by Laura Harner, show up at Mountain Shadows looking to rent a cabin for a while. Now, I'll tell you right now, if you don't follow the WSR series by this author you might feel a little confused. So, because I'm a very generous and loving reviewer, let me just say: you need to read the men of ‘Willow Springs Ranch’! There, see? I fulfilled my role as the Mother of All Pimp Hoze - from my lips to God's ears, right Laura?
Okay, so Park and Tanner are needing a place that's a little off the beaten track while Tanner is being prepped as a witness in a federal crime court case. Unfortunately, it's more than that that is causing a little tension between these two. They've only known each other for three weeks and two of those weeks Tanner spent in jail. (Gotta read the WSR series!) They pretty much know the bare bones about each other. Well, that and they're smoking hot together. So, there's some nerves and anxiety there as they discover each other.
This was so much fun seeing Park and Tanner interact with Scott, Amos, Jillian, Robby, Cannon, and the rest of the crowd. Not to mention that Park's Chihuahua and Great Dane provide some entertainment for all. Of course the author didn't scrimp on the excitement as she wove a little intrigue into the Feds dealing with Tanner. So, end result? Loved it! Two snaps! I want more. Please. *grins*
'Kismet and Cartwheels' was a slip into the world of Pulp Friction 2014 for me. I'm normally really good about reading my series in order and so far I have not ventured into this series I am diligently collecting the books so I can have a Pulp Friction marathon when this years series is done.
Having said all that, I enjoyed this brief glimpse at these new characters and am looking forward to reading the full series. While I'm not sure I had all the details on this one at the same time I easily followed the gist of the story and enjoyed the glimpse it offered me of what I can look forward to.
I loved last years Pulp Friction series and just didn't think it would be possible for these four authors to create a cast of characters that would be as fascinating as they were, but now I'm not so sure and I'm anticipating finding out and hopefully discovering how wonderfully wrong I was.
One thing I do know though is nothing will top Wicked Templeton, at least not for me, but hopefully they will come close.
This is a short side story involving Park and Tanner from Park's Lot. It brings them from WSR to Mountain Shadow Resort which is the 2014 setting for Pulp Friction.
Tanner has become the material witness against his family and the terrorist organization they supported. Park and Tanner decide to give their relationship a chance while hiding from the bad guys.
This is fun, sweet and sexy. It left me wanting more of these two, just as Park's Lot did. If you aren't reading Pulp Friction, guys what is wrong with you? Seriously, everyone needs to be reading these.
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! Willow Springs Ranch meets Mountain Shadows Campground! Park and Tanner are back and that's a huge thrill for this Laura Harner and WSR fan. Park and Tanner move to Mountain Shadows to escape the attempts on the life of the "good" Triplet son but with his father and brothers behind bars, Tanner finds that that's just the beginning. With their counter-intuitively named dogs in tow Park and Tanner invade the Pulp Friction 2014 story line in this bonus book. Great story and I'm looking forward to more.
Okay so how do I explain this to you? To begin, you know that I am totally immersed in the Pulp Friction 2014 Series this year, right? It has four talented authors writing a series of their own, interchanging their stories and characters as a family. Laura Harner, Lee Brazil, Tom Webb and Havan Fellows again are bringing us all together this year to Mountain Shadows Campground in Flagstaff, Arizona. We readers get a book every 2 weeks as they rotate, and now this year they have BONUS BOOKS !!!!
Kismet and Cartwheels has Laura Harner bringing us the hot, sexxxxy couple from her Willow Springs Series Book #5 that was Parks Lot; Tanner Triplett and Park Williams. I looovvvve Tanner and Park and now here they are at Mountain Shadows renting a cabin, hiding out while Tanner waits to help the authorities keep his brother and father behind bars for a long time…..Of course Laura has set us up for a bit of mystery and lots of steamy scenes. If you had not read Park’s Lot yet or Willow Spring Series, now you will want to start that entire series….
For those like myself who are followers of that series as well, can enjoy that this is a time for Park and Tanner to finally spend some alone time together, to get to know each other hmmmm a bit better after only knowing each other for a few weeks. Park is the sweetest and cowboy Tanner’s sex appeal just bounces off the pages….Cannot wait for the other Bonus Books!
Thank you guys for giving us so much more this year !!!!!

: When I started reading this book, I recognized Park and was curious. I have the Willow Springs Books and thought Park was familiar from the title of the last book. As I read on, I found out I was right and wondered if I would be totally lost reading this without having finished the WSC books. But, as I read the other books in this round of Pulp friction I was intrigued by the mention of Park. I will say that the book stood on its on pretty well, though it did make me want to read the book Park is in from the other series, just as each of these books entices you to read the rest. I absolutely loved Park. He is a very intriguing feisty, colourful character with lots of heart. I loved that he is vegan and strict in his beliefs. Park and Tanner fit into this series seamlessly and I hope I get to see much more of them. The story had an interesting plot, introduced the characters well and had enough backstory to fill you in and draw you in. I recommend this if you like cowboys (yes Tanner is a cowboy), mystery, dogs, young love and interactive series this is for you. Review Written for http://mmgoodbookreviews.wordpress.com/
Whether you’ve read the Willow Springs Ranch series or not, this is a great book. There are references to the happenings in Park’s Lot, which is the fifth book in the Willow Springs Ranch series, so if that annoys you, then you’d be best to read it. I’ve read both, so I’ll go ahead and tell you that I enjoyed both immensely.
What I think I enjoyed most about this story is that it is a continuation to another series, a book where I was dying to know what happened afterward. This story is only the beginning of this chapter of Park and Tanner’s story, but already I’m hooked. Park and Tanner are an interesting couple and I, for one, wanted to know what happened with them outside of WSR, so yes, I loved this story.
Park and Tanner from Laura Harner's Willow Springs Ranch series have come to Mountain Shadows! Yay! More Park & Tanner!
Laura is writing the Fighting Fire series as part of The Pulp Friction 2014 event she is doing with T.A. Webb, Lee Brazil and Havan Fellows and she brought us this great little gem as a bonus!
Park and Tanner have just left the guys at Willow Springs Ranch and need a place to stay while Tanner helps the FBI in their case against his father and brother. While here they both learn more about the other and their relationship while dealing with a troublesome FBI agent.
We also spend more time with Taco and Scooby even if they are locked out of the bedroom during the sexy bits.
the 5th in the Willow Springs Ranch series. I thought I'd have the answers to the questions I had from book 4, I don't because somewhere there is book|story 4.5. I could pick up 5, read and appreciate it but i still have those key questions (which is not Walt's key question!) answered: how did Tanner survive as Jesse was rescued without him being discovered? how did Park and Tanner meet? Really what was Park the vegan doing on a working ranch? They've met, they are having a hot and steamy romance and have reached the stage of taking a breath (or two) and realizing they know nothing about each other except their strong sexual compatibility.
Sadly, I feel I have no other choice than to reduce my ratings for all Laura Harner books. The evidence of plagiarism for some of her books appears incontrovertible and she has even apologized for it. This, for me, taints her entire body of work. I can no longer trust the integrity of any of her writing.
This in no way reflects upon the integrity or quality of any author with whom she collaborated.
If you loved the Willow Spring Ranch series like I do, you will like this short story. It ties the WSR to the Pulp Friction 2014 series, and continues Park and Tanned's story. Super short but packed full of cliffhanger and goodness.
I liked this little connecting story between the Willow Springs series and PF 2014 so much that I've now bought book 5 of the Willow Springs series to find out more about Park and Tanner. 4 stars from me.
3.5 stars--It was nice to visit with Park and Tanner again, but I have to admit that I was feeling very impatient wanting to get back to Robby and Scott. Although it was a good story, it did little to add to PF '14.
