“I’ve got an almost fifteen-year-old girl as one of my best friends.” A few of the guys chuckle. “I ran from anything that resembled commitment, for years avoiding any connections. But here I am excited and ready to start my life with an amazing girl and Tori as a bonus. I love them.” It no longer feels weird having those words falling from my lips. “They make everything better.”
My Thoughts:
Graysons story was okay but if I'm honest I had hoped for it to be better then it was. The writing wasn't bad but it also wasn't the absolute best. It has a lot of potential I loved the idea of this story but the writing felt slightly stilted to me. The one thing I absolutely loved about this story though was Tori she was a complete smart asx I couldn't get enough of her snark especially towards Grayson. My biggest complaint is the “spicy” chapters usually I don't mind if a book has little to no spice since I know some prefer to read/write clean romances and that's fine you do you but that wasn't really what happened. The author added spice but it kind of skipped over the beginning of the situation and started when they were already ‘busy’ and personally I need to see it ALL play out to actually enjoy it. I'm hoping I have a different opinion by the next installment in the series. Although this book wasn’t for me I still encourage you to give it a try since it was just small issues that irked me and unfortunately I’m very particular about this type of thing but it has parts I really enjoyed so I think others might love it.🤍
This is the first book in what is looking ro be a promising series. Based around a fire station and the team that work from there, we meet the team who work out from there, but the focus is on Grayson, the playboy of the group. These are all men with good hearts whose job can often bruise those hearts. Then we have sweet Rose, the kind-hearted widow who lives opposite the station, providing them with goodies and support. Skye is fabulous. Supporting her younger sister after their loss, she is just finding her feet professionally and financially. And, of course, Gratson is her neighbour who has a revolving door of conquests and noisy habits 🙄. Enter Tori. What a girl! A real firebrand who challenges Grayson at every turn! This is a romance that has a fast click between these two but needs time to develop, time which allows something deeper, keading to a satisfying conclusion. 💖💖💖💖
This book had potential, but for me it fell short. First up this book needs better editing - punctation/run on sentences, and also grammar, as some sentences just didn't flow smoothly. I was a little surprised about the quality.. For me, it also took me a little while to connect to the characters. Don't get me wrong, I really felt for them and what they'd all experienced; but some of their actions and reactions were frustrating and I felt some things could've been avoided or were overdramatised so couldn't really relate. I would be interested to see what the next book in this 'series' will be like, and I understand each book is written by a different author.
2.5 stars. Ok read, but it was weird that everyone gave Grayson a hard time about his promiscuity except Skye. It didn’t even seem to bother her, other than making her feel insecure. If the roles were reversed and it was Skye who had a parade of men coming to her apartment, making enough noise during sex that the the H’s 14 year old brother could hear through the shared walls…do you think the H would be attracted to that? She never even really questioned it on a moral level let alone physical level. She slept with him without protection, days after he was with another woman. Just made me feel sad for her and the lack of self respect she had.
So Grayson, by one of my favorite authors C.A. Harms, is first in a series 8 each written by a different author connected to Station 47 Nashville. Another favorite author of mine, Evan Grace, is writing the 3rd book in the series. I'm not familiar with the other authors.
Skye (22) and her sister Tori (14) live next door to Grayson (29) and a complete man-ho. Apparently they haven't really interacted and have been neighbors a few months.
Tori is completely unfiltered and hilarious (most of the time, a couple of times not so cute like shaving off half his eyebrow). She goes over to blast him because his motorcycle is parked in her sisters spot because his friends left it there for him because he was too hammered to drive. And in addition one of his regular f-buddies Gia is getting ready to leave this morning (she's a skank and a troublemaker). Tory also calls him a man whore who has a bordello because she hears all his sexcapades through their bedroom walls (ok ew). This is brought up a lot during the book and I could have done without. ( He was not making a good impression between being a ho and the getting drunk to oblivion every time they have a difficult call). He sees Skye but they don't speak.
So shortly later (not sure how long) she goes to the bar he hangs out at (not to see him, Grayson cousin and the cousin's friend (most likely future h's in the books) who works with Skye dragged her out.
This is when Grayson becomes really into her ( I don't think he hooked up between the sister calling him out and this scene). The skanky Gia shows up and he pretty much tells her not interested and she pouts and stomps away (to return later in the book and cause a kerfuffle).
From this point on he's only about Skye and he adores Tori too.
I liked the characters and the frineds and family. I would have preferred Grayson was more discreet in his prior hook-ups. I'm grateful he and Skye are never in his bed (ew can you imagine how many people had been in there, gross!).
I feel like since this is the first book she has to do all the set up for future stories and I really could have done with more character development (not that it was horrible) and more of them growing in their relationship.
But, he was so sweet and perfect to her, the big misunderstanding was in no way his fault and I love how he fought for her. Very short (few days) apart then they worked it all out.
Grayson by C. A. Harms is a Station 47 novel. It's an amazing story about finding the strength to go on, and finding love that's been right under your nose. Grayson and Skye were neighbors for over a year, but never even noticed each other until Skye's fourteen year old sister barges over to his apartment to yell at him for parking in Skye's parking space. Tori, the sister, is a hoot! She needs to take her comedy show on the road. I was laughing out loud at her shenanigans. Her sarcasm was awesome.
Grayson and Skye had instant chemistry the second their eyes met. Grayson is confused at the connection he feels towards her, because he was always considered the playboy, who never formed attachments with anyone he hooked up with, but there's just something about Skye that he can't shake. Skye has never had time for relationships, having to grow up way too fast to take care of her younger sister, so she's also confused by the connection she feels towards Grayson. The story was so good, and I can't wait for more stories in this fantastic firefighter series. This one is highly recommended with more than five stars!
Grayson is the first book in this new series of firefighters. Everything about Grayson screams alpha playboy. Grayson knows what he wants and losing himself in someone after a rough day is exactly what he wants. But a pint-size neighbor is about to put him in his place and open his eyes to things happening. Skye and Tori are so cute and they complement each other as sisters. Skye is the calm, shy one who doesn't like confrontation, and Tori is the loudmouth who doesn't care what comes out of her mouth. When things with Skye and Grayson start to become serious their feelings are so strong, but Skye is always looking to ensure her sister is taken care of first. When things with Grayson's job happen and he starts to walk away will Skye let him? Or will she preserve her feelings and those of her sisters? This book had everything you could ever want. Love, lust, angst, tragedy, and passion.
This author use to literally be one of my go to authors… her editing crew has left for greener pastures over the last several books. The books she writes has so much potential to be amazing but they aren’t because of a lack of editing whether it’s misspelling, the wrong words completely, punctuation, etc…. I keep saying I’m done reading her books , but this series with a mix of authors made me have hope. I read book 2 first and then went back to read this one. I’ll continue on with the series because I’ve read most of the other authors involved… aside from the lack of editing , the book was good. It would have been better had a teenage girl not shared a wall with Grayson before he got with her sister .. the details were just tacky, unnecessary, and gross… PLEASE PLEASE get a new editing team…
The story of Grayson and Skye was a great introduction to the Station 47 series. These firefighters are a true family you will come to love. Not only them, but sweet Rose too.
Grayson is Skye’s neighbor with a revolving door of women. He is really a great guy, he just never had the desire to settle down. When he meets Skye that all changes.
Skye and Tori are a package deal. Skye has learned to put Tori first and has no regrets doing so. But Grayson gives her a reason to take something for herself. He is the perfect addiction to their family of two.
Tori is so much fun! I loved her attitude.
There is little drama in the book. It’s more real life events that could happen to any of us. I like that about the story. It’s easy to see how these characters could be friends of yours in real life.
I am absolutely in love with the books in the Station 47 series, and I love the fact that they are written by different authors but the stories still flow together.
This one follows Greyson, who is the playboy of the group. He ends up falling for his next door neighbour after her snarky little sister barges over to chew him out for parking in Skye's spot. I honestly think the highlight of the book for me was EVERY interaction Tori had with other characters because I LIVED for her snark and sass.
Greyson is unsure of what to think of his feelings for Skye because he never formed attachments with any of the hookups. Skye on the other hand hasn't had time for a relationship because she was busy raising her younger sister after their parents tragically passed away.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and I will be picking up other books in the series to read because I need more of the Station 47 men!
Grayson being a first responder these stories can go really well or really not. This one happily was well done. It showed the moments where they have to fight through their own grief during tough calls and also how willing to love they are.
Grayson was fun shy with love. He’d lost in the past and never gave it another try. Seeing him grow and run towards that missing pieces or pieces as this story was was so heart warming.
Skye has also lost. She knows that you still have to love with all you have. Seeing her realize her dreams are importantly and finding that family that she thought she had lost in Grayson and his was so amazing.
This book was so cute and I loved the time I spent here
This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I honestly thought it would have been more of a firefighter theme I guess. I just struggled to get into the book as it seemed that all the young adults only thought about was getting drunk or drinking. Then there was Skyes sister Tori. She was 14 and had a mouth worse than a sailor. Skye really needed to act like her guardian when she pretty much spoke to anyone without any type of filter. Lord, I would have expected better from a guardian in my opinion. For me, she ruined the book.
This first book in the Station 47 Series had me intrigued right from the start. This story might have been about Grayson and Skye but Tori is the one that steals the show. Grayson has never wanted to risk his heart but one look at Skye and he might not have a choice. Their story was filled with so much witty banter that my face was sore from all the smiling I had done by the end of this book. It was also highly emotional and overflowing with love and passion. The connection between Gray and Skye is intense and one that will take your breath away. The way Gray loved and cared for Skye’s teenage sister Tori was the icing on the cake that steals your heart.
This is a great story about loss, love, and finding that one that makes it so worth it. The characters in the book are shaped, but their past and when they meet for the first time is electric. The chemistry they share is hot and intense. I love all the side characters as well. They sort of found out the story a bit. I love the show build in the beginning, and the ending will leave you hanging. I will definitely read other stories in the series just to see what the other characters are up to.
The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.
This is Skye and Grayson’s story. He is the playboy of the firehouse. She is the neighbor and a widow. He is confused about what he feels for her when he meets her as he never forms bonds with woman. But he can feel this pull to her right away. Can he break his playboy ways in order to get her? Or will he run from those feelings?
The story was good and got me out of my reading slump. But for the love of grammar, please take the time to edit the book. I took off 2 stars for the run on sentences, punctuation not used and massive misspelling. A little spell check goes a long way and would’ve made this a 5 star rating.
Like I said, a great story and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series, but I wasn’t a fan of having to change words in my head or guess what it was supposed to be.
Oh my Grayson s sexy and sweet and hot as hell and cocky and who don’t love a man in uniform hot, hot, hot and then there is Skye she is sweet and and doing everything she can to raise her sister right but when these two meet that set the room on fire and then there’s Tori OH my GOODNESS I love this girl she is something else the mouth. She has on her is funny
I don’t have the words to express how good of a read this was. I purposely forced myself to put it down but still finished it in about a day. Yes it’s just that good. You feel the ups and downs and I for one loved Tori!! We all need a little sister like her in our lives. Skye and Grayson’s story reeled this reader in and did not let go.
I have to say, my favorite character in this book was Tori. She's all sass. Grayson's whore-ish ways against Tori's sass provided some hilarious moments. I'd have easily given this book 5 stars, but the editing was horrible. Wrong words were used, sometimes changing the direction the author was pointing the reader to.
This was a great book to read. I loved Gray and skye for each other. I love love this author. I loved Tori’s character. I do hope Tori, Viví and Scarlett get their own books. I did wish and would have loved if their was an epilogue to end this book
Book One into the Fire Station stories we get Grayson and Skye story. He has always run from relationships but when he meets Skye something changes. Skye has alot of responsibility at only 22. Raising her sister Tori comes with its own problems she is a typical teen with a mouth like a Sailor and she so makes the story. Relationships are not easy but itf it's meant to be its all worth the struggles.
Ok first loved the story. However was that an ending? First time i ever saw an ending like that. Im kinda mad about it. Feels unfinished. Also errors a few. So if say 3.5 stars but i did like the story.
Grayson is a firefighter and has a reputation with women. He meets his next door neighbors Tori and Skye. Skye has been raising her sister Tori since their parents deaths and she's not sure they need any man in their lives. Grayson shows her he can be different than his past. A fun, sexy read.
A good and ertertaining story. Maybe the 'falling in love'-part lacked something and happened quite quickly. Low-angst, happy end and so on - I am also intereseted to check the next one in series.
