Fascinating! Satellites is THE book to read about space technology. It explains step by step what a satellite is, what is onboard a satellite, and what are the many uses for satellites. Hint: everything from communications to preserving our earth to spying. Satellites then features all the most important satellites and gives examples of the many ways these satellites help us. The book is packed with fascinating details! My favorite section is “Sizing up Spacecraft,” where it compares satellite sizes to objects we know. I had no idea that satellites ranged in size from as small as a table to as big as a basketball court. The detailed illustrations pair beautifully with Kate Peridot’s incredibly clear explanations, making this a fantastic choice for curious readers ages 7 to 70!
