SPOILER THIS NOVELLA TAKES PLACE APPROXIMATELY ONE AND A HALF YEARS AFTER THE EVENTS OF TEMPTATION AND INCLUDES SPOILERS FOR THE MATE PESTILENCE AND DEATH.
IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THOSE SERIES, YOU MAY WANT TO STOP HERE AND DO THAT FIRST.
Turns out happily ever after isn’t what the storybooks promised.
We thought it was over, that we’d earned a peaceful life filled with love and tender moments. We couldn’t have been more wrong.
With Sunday and our sweet Eden at the center of our group, the four of us are more protective than ever, so when I’m called to return as Headmaster of Ravenscroft University, I assume our family is safe.
You’d think I would’ve learned my lesson by now. No one is ever truly safe. Especially not with all the obstacles in our path.
An uneasy wolf pack.
Unfinished business with the Shadow Court.
An adorable menace with far more power than should be possible.
And a ghost I never expected to see again.
So much for enjoying retirement. It seems fate isn’t done with us yet, because happily ever after isn’t an ending at all.

***I recommend reading this novella after the War, Pestilence, and Death series to avoid any spoilers.
That was 70% smut and 30% plot, but I loved every page of it. I am not sure yet how relevant this novella will be in the arch-plot, and I admit that the big revelation about Caleb's past seemed a little out of the blue, but I was just happy to see more of Sunday and her little family. Their banter and sass never fail to make me smile.
Even though the next full Mate Games series book is months away, we are still getting FED by Meg and Kim, they really love us, yes they do.
If you haven't read all three series that are currently out, please go do so before starting this, because it includes spoilers for them and a teaser of what's to come.
I couldn't be any more excited. I feel like a kid with a bouncy ball, just bouncing around everywhere, I CANNOT WAIT I AM READY GIVE ME THE FINAL SERIES!!!!
I started this before travelling with my bestie and I sadly didn't get to finish it until I got home, but trust me, I was thinking about it A LOT.
The novella starts off sweet, with Sunday and her men and their bedroom shenanigans, but nothing in this universe is ever that simple. There is, of course, some trouble, that I for one, did not see coming. It was a 10/10 plot, and I will gladly take the villain off everyone's hands thank you.
I do not forgive said villain for what they put everyone through mind you!! There were parts of the book where I really disliked them, but they grew on me. I hope they can be redeemed.
I loved catching up with everyone and all the steamy scenes, and the narration was perfect, as always.
This novella is a wonderful addition to the main books, I hope we'll get at least one more to bridge the gap until the next series.
*Thank you to the authors for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
I will start by saying that I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. Thank so much Kim & Anne for sending a copy my way!
Devotion is another fantastic addition to The Mate Games universe. It has everything we’ve come to expect from K. Loraine and Meg Anne – high steam, banter and a dramatic over-the-top plot, which is a wild, fun ride. The ending has left me desperate for the next series, The Mate Games: Apocalypse.
This novella takes place after the events of The Mate Games: War, The Mate Games: Pestilence & The Mate Games: Death, so please wait to read this one. I loved being back with Sunday and her guys since it’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen them. I adore the little domestic bliss moments we get as we see the group try to navigate parenthood, spend time together and navigate the rising tension with Kingson’s pack. I adored seeing that Kingston, Alec, Noah and Caleb have perfected their dynamic and have found ways to balance their time with Sunday, even if Kingston always wants to butt in. Kingson’s antics left me howling in laughter. He really is a dramatic soul who needs to be involved in everything.
Devotion was so much fun and helped to feed my addiction to this series. I loved being back with Sunday and the gang so much that I wanted to read The Mate Games: War. And I am beyond excited to pick up the next series when it starts releasing next year. If you love paranormal romance and the why choose trope, The Mate Games series is for you. No, seriously, you need to read it. It is completely additive with the spiciest spice, dramatic plots and character that will steal your heart.
**Audio Review** Here for the steam and the twists! Devotion: A Mate Games: War Novella by K. Loraine and Meg Anne was a spicy, suspenseful paranormal romance that had me laughing, smiling, and swooning over Sunday, Caleb, Kingston, Noah, and Alek. (Eden too!) My heart was so happy catching up with this memorable crew. Faced with a new challenge, working together to persevere their love is just as strong as ever.
Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, J.F. Harding, James Joseph, and Aaron Shedlock reprise their roles from the Mate Games War series, and just hearing all these fave voices together once again made my heart MELT! Stella was spot-on in portraying Sunday’s sass and strength while Jason Clarke turned on his Daddy G growly Irish charm. J.F. Harding’s portrayal of smug, confident Kingston had me laughing while James Joseph brought all the broody goodness for Thorne. Aaron Shedlock added the perfect touch of regal air for Alek. Plus, the chemistry between Sunday and her mates was still so, so spicy and all the narrators brought the heat.
Overall, I loved this book. If you are a fan of a why choose paranormal romance with a feisty heroine expecting news, four fine supernatural fellas, visiting Ravenscroft, all the steamy times, jaw-dropping plot twists, swoony conversations, adorable moments with Eden, all the hilarious banter, and a conclusion that prepares you for the end…then you will love catching up with Sunday and her mates. I always look forward to more from K. Loraine and Meg Anne.
Devotion is a Mating Games: War Novella is just a quick look at the characters after the events of their series ended. It was great seeing Sunday, her guys, and baby Eden again, boy do they have their hands full with that one. Plus Kingston and his antics, have never been funnier.
Just when I thought their story was over and they got a HEA, it looks like trouble still has a way of finding this group. There were a crazy amount of steamy scenes for a novella (I'm not complaining) and some great family moments but there was also a fair share of action and a plot twist no one could have saw coming. It was awesome. Plus there was a little hint of what's to come and I can't wait.
Devotion is a novella following the Mate Games War series. I loved getting to revisit the characters that started this amazing series. K. Loraine and Meg Anne delivered another wild ride for Sunday and her men. The story had me hooked right from the beginning and kept me guessing where the danger was coming from. The spice, the humor and the drama was top notch and I didn’t want it to end.
The audio was once again fantastic, I loved getting to have all our favorite voices come back for this novella. Once again this cast brings so much to the story. Stella Hunter delivers Sunday’s sass and playfulness with her mates. Jason Clarke brings all the broodiness and dominance with love from Caleb. Aaron Shedlock delivers all of Alek’s sweet and protective personality for his mate and daughter. I loved all of the cute moments between him and Eden. J.F. Harding delivers on all of Kingston’s sarcasm and one liners. James Joseph brings to life the broody Noah. I love the way J.F. and James bring to life the bromance between Kingston and Noah. The performance was another ten out of ten!
If you have not read the Mate Games Death series there will be some spoilers in this book. Thank you Kim and Meg for an advanced listen.
Well, of course I absolutely ADORED this book. Sunday and her men are still my favorite couple out of the whole series 🥰
I loved that this book was such a relaxed and mostly happy bonding book, and the tension big problem at the end was laid back and perfect for me!
Did not entirely like the note that they finished the book on though 😝. Especially since the ending of the Mate Games: Death disproves it. Like, you’re making me worry for them needlessly! I don’t wanna have to worry about them!!
Anyway, this was so good, and I would like to put in a regular order of these laidback, heartwarming, panty melting touch up novellas on all of our couples, please and thank you 😂. Especially Rosie after her news!!!
Devotion- Meg Anne, K Loraine Narrated by Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, Aaron Sherlock, James Joseph, JF Harding, Sophie Hunter
Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Narration 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧
I didn’t realize how much I missed this OG crew! Listening to these characters was coming home after being away for a long time. And we’re introduced to toddler Eden, voiced by mini-Stella!! It was *adorable*. These guys come together to save the day once again but not before they get all hot and bothered which made me get all hot and bothered. 🥵🥵🥵
Hail to the queens!! I literally screamed when I saw there was a brand new novella in The Mate Games:War series! I can’t express enough his much I love this entire world and War is my all time favorite in the series. Devotion did not disappoint! It was great getting to see Sunday with her guys again, so much so that I’m going to be going back and rereading the entire series and I rarely do that!.
i need to know, which man is on the cover???? my guess is caleb or thorne, but it doesnt look like either of them.
anyway, this was 90% smut 10% plot… and the plot twist was lowkey insane/unbelievable 😂 love this world tho. just think that this novella was kinda unnecessary, hopefully it ties into the final 4-book plot.
Absolutely fantastic!! This was such an amazing short story continuation from War with Sunday and all her guys and I devoured it like it was the best ice cream sundae I have ever tasted. I am utterly obsessed with Caleb—that man has had me in a chokehold since the moment I met him in February '24 and every single time he has a cameo in any of the others' books I legit squeal like a baby seal, so to say I was excited about this is a total understatement.
This was actually also my first ever audiobook and I read on KU in tandem—and just 🤯🥵 what an experience that was. J.F. Harding voiced Kingston and while he did a really great job, he wasn't exactly how I had Kingston in my mind. His voice is deeper and he didn't put as much playfulness into his voice as I feel like Kingston would. Aaron Shedlock voiced Alek and again I just felt like sometimes he didn't put enough feeling into it; it came off a bit robotic at times and during the intimacy scenes it really didn't come across like he was actually in the moment, it definitely felt like he was narrating, not acting the part, but his voice was perfect. James Joseph wasn't at all how I always pictured Noah to be it sound, but I think he did a pretty good job with it. Now, Jason Clarke's voiceover acting for Caleb was on 👏 fecking 👏 point. He did a perfect job making it really feel like he was Caleb and his voice was just how I always thought my Father Gallagher would sound. He not only voiced the character to perfection, but he also played the part of the character and made me really feel it. I could honestly listen to that man talk about dirt for hours and still get turned on. 🙃🥵 But when I say that I legit had to stop doing laundry and sit down for a min when he growled "she is mine" I am not joking or exaggerating. I thought I could multitask while listening to this, but that was very quickly proven to be quite difficult.
The story was so good and there were some twists I never would've considered. I laughed, I cried, and of course, I had to fan myself a great number of times (3.5🌶️). This little glimpse into the life of Sunday, Noah, Caleb, Kingston, and Alek, and of course little Eden, was everything I wanted and even didn't know I wanted it to be and absolutely delivered once again. Well done to all! 👏❤️👏

Devotion A Mate Games By: Meg Anne, K. Loraine Narrated by: Stella Hunter, James Joseph, J.F. Harding, Aaron Shedlock, Jason Clarke
It is great to be back in Meg Anne & K. Loraine’s “The Mate Games: War” series again, and amazing series and where all “The Mate Games” began, with Sunday Fallon, and her four men, Kingston Farrell, a wolf shifter, Alek Nordson, a Demi-god, Noah “Thorn” Blackthorne, a vampire, and daddy Caleb Gallagher, I mean Father Caleb, and also a vampire. This story takes place after the series ended and we get a glimpse into where they are in life, a family of six, their daughter Eden makes six. I love the dynamics of their relationship, each one bringing something different and they complete each other, with Sunday being their glue. After everything they have been through, you would think they would have peace and their happily ever after. But not all is right in their world and when Caleb gets called back to run Ravenscroft, it all hits the fan. I absolutely love this world the authors created and can not get enough of it or these characters and it was a treat to visit them again. This novella packs a lot of story, a fast-moving story that is cleverly plotted with drama, charming and witty banter that puts a smile on your face, a touch of angst, some thrilling and suspenseful moments and lots of steamy scenes. Meg Anne and K. Loraine, thank you for another wonderfully entertaining story and wild ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the outstanding talent and multi-cast performance brought to you by J.F. Harding as Kingston, Jason Clarke as Caleb, James Joseph as Noah, Aaron Shedlock as Alek and Stella Hunter as Sunday, and other female roles, as well as an appearance of a special guest star as Eden. They all nailed it in their roles and I loved how natural it came to them and easy it was them to fall into their roles. This cast and their performance is a treat for your ears, not only entertaining you, but bringing you into the story and holding you captive the entire time. Thank you for another amazing listen.
~*~ Audiobook Review ~*~ Devotion is the steamy novella I didn’t know I needed, so I was really excited to receive an advanced copy. I re-listened to War for the umpteenth time in preparation and I’m so glad I did! These characters are so creatively, wonderfully, brilliantly, lovingly written and performed by this all-star cast and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. If you have not read the Mate Games Death series there will be some spoilers in this book. I very highly recommend this entire series, and all of the other series written by Meg Anne and K. Lorraine that touch this world and these beloved characters. This story is short, sweet, super steamy, and will surprise you.
Devotion is a great escape with excellent narration in duet by a full cast with Stella Hunter, James Joseph, J.F. Harding, Aaron Shedlock, Jason Clarke, and featuring Sophie Hunter as Eden. The Mate Games is firmly a favorite and repeat listen. Stella Hunter’s performance as Sunday is exactly why I love audiobooks so much. You can feel the story through her narration and I love listening to these beloved characters once again. J.F. Harding brings us the absolutely unique and genuinely excellent character with Kingston’s humor and Jake-talk. James Joseph is perfect as Noah with his stoic smolder with the playful side shining through, brought out by Sunday and Eden. Aaron Shedlock’s performance of Alek brings this larger-than-life demigod to life in a big way. Jason Clarke proves again why he is a favorite with Caleb’s stern-yet-loving instruction of Sunday with this storyline allowing him to show a wide range of emotion and flex his #JasonEffingClarkeness… (not sure that’s a word, but it fits). The way they surround, protect, and adore Sunday and now Eden swept me up in their love story. I giggled and smiled, swooned, and was surprised by the plot twist. Sophie Hunter’s performance of Eden is so adorable I can’t stand it, and I look forward to more by this budding artist. So many cute moments with Eden!
I’m so glad that we got to go back to Sunday’s world with all of her mates. “Devotion” is a steamy, heartfelt and action packed novella that was an amazing addition to the series.
Set about a year and half into the future, Sunday is living with her mates and thinking the past is behind them. But the easy life doesn’t stay so easy when Caleb is asked to come back to Ravenscroft to be the headmaster after the school was rebuilt from the last time they were there. And other unfinished business is out there to find them as well.
I absolutely loved “Mate Games: War” and when this novella was announced, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Sunday and her men (Caleb, Alek, Kingston, and Noah) are still as hot as ever and devoted. The men would do anything for Sunday and their daughter, Eden, and that shined through as the story went on. I loved the added twists and turns as they figured out things weren’t as right as they thought it was. The steam scenes were top notch, per the usual from Meg and Kim. The action had me listening non-stop as they figured things out and got to the bottom of the new obstacle in their lives. I loved the ending and I can’t wait for the next installment.
I loved the narrators of this series so much! Stella Hunter, J.F. Harding, Aaron Shedlock, Jason Clarke, and James Joseph were back for their roles and I was so happy to have the five of them back in my ears. Each narrator was the perfect choice for their character. And it was recorded in duet narration which just makes the story even better.
What to expect: ✨️ Dual POV and 1st person perspective ✨️ Keeping secrets ✨️ Rh with no ⚔️ ✨️ Paranormal romance; vampires, shifters, demigods. ✨️ Novella: read after the other books in the series for full effect and to negate potential spoilers
Sunday and her delicious men are all back for more in this short little novella, and oh how I've missed them! I thought we were only going to get cameo appearances from the OG crew in the new books but then Kim and Meg surprise us with this lovely little gem out of nowhere 😍
It seems like our original little family haven't quite got their HEA just yet, and it wouldn't be a Mate Games book without a surprise twist (I gotta say I did not see this one coming even with the clues) but for me it was a little out of nowhere. So I'm really hoping it has some significance in the overall arc of the Mate Games series and we get some more from it than a surprise for the sake of a surprise. But knowing Meg and Kim, they definitely have more up their sleeves 😏
The spice as always is on point and takes up the majority of the book, which hey, I'm not mad about 😅😅
I cannot wait for more of anything the Mate Games has to offer, they deliver each and every time they write anything.
• Thoughts: Well..... I know what I will be revisiting. Mate Game War. I absolutely adore this series and these characters. I love being able to see who Sunday and her men are doing post War apocalypse. I was giddy and jumping up and down with excitement when this book and Audio hit my ears. Sigh. Kingston will never get old!! Like Ever! This Novella is something I don't know how we ever loved without for so long. Just do yourselves a favor and add this to your TBL pronto! You will be so happy you did.
•Narrator Thoughts: Our favorite cast is back!!! The incredibly talented Stella Hunter as Sunday her voice is so gorgeous! Jason Clarke as Caleb- did I mention that he has an Irish accent?? -puddle of goo. Aaron Shedlock as Alex... heart eyes. JF Harding as The fun love Kingston... giggles and more giggles. And Jame Joseph as Noah. Fanning herself. This cast is dynamite!!! I love ld them all as these roles they are absolutely perfect!
This novella is everything! If you are a fan of the Mate Games series, you need this book! It has the original War cast with a few cameos from some of our favourites from the other series too.
It's a wonderful look into the life of Sunday and her mates. It shows them in their every day life, taking care of their beautiful little girl, but in true Mate Games fashion, all is not as it seems. It has a few twists in the plot, making this story feel like a full length book.
I have both read this book and listened to the audio version and both are brilliant. But as always the audio has my heart. It has a brilliant cast of narrators, who have such great chemistry with each other. It really elevates this book even further. With the edition of a new cast member, the wonderful Sophie who did the most spectacular job of playing Eden. She bought a smile to my face every time I heard her.
Overall a brilliant novella. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it has just left me wanting more.
Devotion A Mate Games By: Meg Anne, K. Loraine Narrated by: Stella Hunter, James Joseph, J.F. Harding, Aaron Shedlock, Jason Clarke
Love, Love, Love this novella! A quick visit with those that started the series and how much fun is it to see where they are now and what is going to happen next! Sunday is back with her four men, each still as sensual, loving and protective as ever. But what is coming is the problem! A new danger is facing them, one that no one saw coming! It's erotic, thrilling and a wild ride just whetting my appetite for what is to come. Bring it on! War is about to start.
The all start cast is back in duet narration, bringing everyone back to life. Stella Hunter, James Joseph, J.F. Harding, Aaron Shedlock, Jason Clarke create that magic that started it all, and I was lost in the story. Add in little Sophie Hunter as Eden and it's perfection! Loved this teaser and cannot wait for more.
"Devotion" is the fifth entry in the thrilling "First Mates Games" series by Meg Anne and K. Loraine, and it's a novella that packs a wallop! This installment continues to dazzle with its spicy, well-crafted narrative that fans of the series have come to adore. Anne and Loraine have outdone themselves, creating a universe so rich and compelling that it's hard to let go. The characters are vivid and their dynamics evolve beautifully in this novella, pushing the boundaries of romance and adventure even further. The story is a perfect blend of heat and heart, with twists that keep you hooked until the last page. I absolutely loved "Devotion" and am eagerly awaiting the completion of the series. The anticipation of being able to binge-read the entire saga is nearly unbearable. This universe is one I never want to leave, and each book leaves me more invested than the last. If you haven't started this series yet, you're missing out on an exquisitely fiery and immersive experience!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
FIRST THINGS FIRST.... this is such a talented group of narrators. I never tire of hearing each of them; in and out of these roles.
HOT DIGGITY DOG. I'm dying over here. This was by far one of the best novellas I've listened to. I'm already a big fan of The Mate Games without Meg and Kim having to put out bangers like this (literal bangers throughout this entire book).
Kingston and Noah even managed to revive the team wank-mates, which was hands down one of the best scenes out of any of these books.
I hate that is only a novella. I want a reprisal of our favorites from Pestilence now, and I want a never ending supply of these stories.
You will not regret picking this up! Seriously though, you'll be missing out. I'd hate it for you because it's just so damn juicy.
Devotion is the fifth book (a novella-length instalment) in The Mate Games: War series by K. Loraine. This series is a red hot, sizzling reverse harem/why choose fantasy, with paranormal elements, suspense, drama, angst, danger, action- and did I mention the SIZZLE??? It got so hot at times that it singed my fingers and steamed up the screen on my Kindle. A Vampire, werewolf, demigod, and priest- so from the very first book, the series plunges you into a world brimming with broody, complex characters, sizzling chemistry, and high-stakes drama. Although this is not a ‘light and fluffy’ series, there are plenty of ‘darker themes, plus all “spicy” elements mean that this book/series may not be for everyone. But for readers who enjoy a mix of passion, danger, and supernatural intrigue, The Mate Games: War delivers and then some. Happy Reading…
The original Mate Games is one of my "holy grail" RH series. Especially the audiobook versions of it (I hope this novella will also be turned into one).
For this novella to make any sense, you have to have read the original Mate Games: War series. There are cameos from the subsequent series (Like Rosie) but you don't have to read those to enjoy this one.
This takes place after the events of the previous books and now Caleb has been asked to return as the headmaster of Ravenscroft Academy. This sets up the upcoming series of Mate Games.
It's fun to return to Sunday's world and reacquaint ourselves with her swoony worth harem. (I heart Caleb Gallagher)
A must read for fans of Mate Games.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Devotion by Meg Anne and K. Loraine is a why choose paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Stella Hunter, James Joseph, J.F. Harding, Aaron Shedlock, and Jason Clarke.
I absolutely love the Mate Games World and was so excited when they announced this novella. I loved getting more of Sunday and her men's story. I can't wait for the next spin off Apocalypse to be released in 2025.
I absolutely love that they do a full cast of narrators for this series. It just brings the story to life. I love all these narrators and can't wait to listen to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this series if you're looking for a paranormal romance, why choose romance, or fated mate's romance.
This is an exciting addition to the Mate Game Series and takes us back into the lives of Sunday, Alek, Noah, Caleb, and Kington. It picks up their story sometime after the end of Devotion the last in the "WAR" series. If you haven't read the five books which make up that series you should give this one a miss until you have because of spoilers.
When this book starts Sunday and her mates are living a not-so-quiet life raising their daughter Eden who seems to have inherited magical abilities from each of her parents. They should be living their best life but destiny has other ideas.
I enjoyed the story and thought it made a great addition but I feel I can't say anymore because of spoilers.
I'm a huge fan of the Mate Games books in general, but the first series holds a special place in my heart, so I was really excited when I found out that Meg and Kim were coming out with a novella revisiting some of our favourite characters. This is a novella, but it's a substantial one, and it contains the humour, drama and plot twists that we've come to expect from these two authors. I'm particularly interested in a new character that has been introduced (no spoilers, but he's related to my favourite priest - well, second favourite priest after Father Ralph de Bricassart) and I'm really hoping that he's one of the main characters in the next series (pretty please!).
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Meg Anne & K. Loraine are just as brilliant here as in everything they write. If you haven't had the chance to read their books, now it's definitely the time.
OMG!!!!This book was such a HUGE deal for the whole family, Sunday, Kingston, Thorne, Caleb, and Alek. Who would have ever thought that they'd be brought into more trouble and chaos with what they were slapped in the face with???
Yes, their lives are doing well, but now it looks like things are turning dangerous again. Especially with the family reunion like they just had, and then ending with a chat with Gabriel, man, can't they ever catch a break?
This is a really great book for this group of characters, and I can't wait until the next series is out in 2025.
There’s nothing more fun than revisiting characters that you love so much! This novella does just that when it brings us back to the world of Mate Games: War and gives us a peak into the lives of Sunday and her men, along with adorable Eden. Of course, life with this lot is never dull! While there’s no surprise that all is well and spicy in the bedroom, there are dangers lurking about. The usual heat and humor abound and are mixed in with the suspense in such a delicious way.
The audiobook is so much fun too, which is really no surprise given this incredibly talented cast. Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, Aaron Shedlock, JF Harding, and James Joseph are excellent and make this such an enjoyable listen! Sophie Hunter as Eden is such a delight, and I smiled each time she appeared!
