No matter where you go or what you do most parents are there to pick you up when you fall or mess up. In this book the princess runs away because she doesn't want to clean her room. She ends up playing with the kids of the streets of their kingdom. She gets dirty and is unrecognizable. Everyone starts gathering around to see the king and the kids she's with end up throwing spit balls at the king, her father. She feels horrible for her father. She tries to go home and hide by going the back way but it is locked. She has to go in the front way, so she knocks and her father, the king, opens her with welcome arms. He forgives her and tells her he will never leave her or stop loving her but she should remember this and try to be better next time. He even helps her clean her room. This is a great story about God and even parents. Most parents are really great and want to help their children grow into amazing adults.

This was a simple story that I think helps spread the gospel to young children. I would recommend it for K-2 graders but as a 35 year old who was raised in church, I enjoyed the simplicity of it and how it delivered a message of hope and love which in my humble opinion is what Christianity is all about. The illustrations were beautiful. I hope readers will find comfort in this story.

Being a child of God makes you a child of the King. This book presents an incredibly valuable lesson: no matter where you go or how you act cannot change God's love for you. He will always open the door when you knock and comfort you in His loving arms. Moore did a beautiful job in telling this story.
