A beautiful message tucked in a little book. Lisa Tawn Bergren does a wonderful job of explaining the existence and origins of angels. She truly presents it terms that a young reader to readily understand and accept. What child cannot relate to Little Cub?

A small book with a great message.

I usually don't read book for kids but this one caught my attention because of the tittle.
The story is quite simple but it's beautifully written in an understandable way.
I loved how the author explains angels and how she uses children's questions to answer important issues.
Did I mention the book's illustrations?

I have not read other books by her but I'm quite sure I'll be checking them.

Este es mi primer cuento en inglés, y la verdad, fue muy fácil de leer, entender, y lo mejor es que es una hermosa historia.

I really enj0yed this Christian Children's book on Angels. I received this as a part of a gift and I voluntarily chose to review this. I've given it a 5* rating. Again, I like the way this author uses words and terms the young can understand. I'm looking forward to sharing this, and my love of angels with my young grandchildren.

Dispels a common myth that people become angels in heaven; when they are two distinct kinds of created beings.

God Gave Us Angels is filled with short phrasing and lovely pictures that tells a cute story about Papa Bear and his daughter, Little Cub.

The story begins with Little Cub on a tree branch, looking for angels. She tells Papa Bear the bunnies told her angels are all around them, and asks him a series of questions about angels, Have you seen one? What do they do all day? Do they have halos? and more. Papa’s answers are honest, clear, and satisfy Little Cub’s curiosity.

In this story, Papa bear answers many questions for baby bear about angels. He says that...
They are often with us
They can sometimes be seen
Angels live to serve God, not man and spend most of their time worshiping God
Some angels carry flaming swords
Angels come sometimes in disguise
Angels sometimes protect us, but not always (Papa bear says he doesn't know why this is, but God loves us)
We should pray to God, not angels
We do not turn into angels when we die

The illustrations are soft and colorful an

This is the second book I have read in the "God Gave Us" series and I have yet to be disappointed. Laura does an amazing job with the illustrations. They are beautiful, detailed, bright, colorful and really bring this book to life. My son loved looking at the pictures and trying to guess the conversation before reading each page. He got such a giggle with the little bird landing on Little Cubs head when they are floating in the water.

The book is laid out in a question and answer style between P

This was such a wonderfully sweet and informative book! I have been curious about this illustrated series, God Gave Us, for kids for a little while. I have to say, this first adventure into this beautifully illustrated book makes me excited to read the rest of them.

Kids are always full of questions and sometimes it's hard to answer them. They can bounce around from subject to subject so quickly, you can loose track and get confused...that's from personal experience. I loved how Little Cub asked

When I was offered this book by Blogging for Books to review on GivingNSharing I hesitated. I personally believe that many people (Christians & Non-Christians) worship the angels when we are warned to NOT worship or pray to the angels. (Exodus 20:4-5, Matt 4:10, Luke 4:8) so it was with misgivings that I agreed to review this book. I was very pleased with how this subject is handled. Little Cub's questions are handled honestly and with just enough information to answer her question and give ...more

This is a very sweet book with beautiful illustrations. This the first book I have read by Lisa Tawn Bergren, but I will be looking for her other books to purchase for my family. She has written over 40 books, with many of them be the same type of thought…”God Gave us”. I enjoyed the way she had the little cub asking questions about angels and the Dad being able to answer those same questions in a biblical way.

The story talks about how there are angels all around us and how they watch over us a

This is the second book I have read in this "God Gave Us" series. I really like the books because they are simple, to the point, colorful, and easy for little ones to understand. They are also board books which is also a huge plus. I feel like angels can be difficult to explain and this book does a pretty nice job. I think the main thing is separating what the Bible says and what is portrayed in movies and such. Little Cub is looking for angels after being told they are all around us. Papa Bear ...more

This was a cute book! Papa and Little Cub are talking about angels as they explore. They talk about how angels were made by God to serve and worship him. That there are angels do guard us and help us. We do not pray to angels but to God because he is their boss. I just loved how the book flowed and told all the information as the story progressed. It wasn't like a book that you feel like you are being taught but instead are being told a story with an awesome amount of information. The author did ...more

Lisa Tawn Bergren continues the popular "God Gave Us" series with this sweet story about Little Cub, his Papa Bear and questions about angels. It describes angels as servants of God.

Bunnies have told Little Cub that angels are all around, and he's curious about their appearance, singing and reason for being. "Angels live to serve God," says Papa Bear. "Whatever he wants them to do, they do. And he loves us. So sometimes they bring message from him to us. Other times they guard us or even for fi

Lisa Tawn Bergren has a magical way to inspire everyone's hearts and that is through her God Gave Us series. In simple terms she helps young and old alike to understand the Goodness of serving God. In her latest creation, "God Gave Us Angels" Papa Cub and Little Cub explore everything about Angels including what they do all day and what they look like. Laura J. Bryant lends her beautiful illustrations (she does a splendid job). This special book will give you quality time with your little ones

Weirdly enough, in this book, polar bears do a better and more accurate job describing angels (based on the Christian Bible) than a lot of other books on the market these days. The theology is stronger and more scripturally based in this children's book about anthropomorphic arctic animals than it is in, say, "Heaven is for Real." I was pleasantly surprised.
